- j + 19 Jex Ter 2015-04-12 21:06:24 Although it seemed to be an innocent mistake, the Skipper was a scurvy rogue who knew there was going to be a bad squall. His diabolical plan was to "shipwreck" the Minnow (nudge nudge, wink wink), ransom Thurston Howle III for all his loot, and being a completely unscrupulous cad, have his way with Lovely and Ginger as well! (A.K.A.: bonus booty). The Skipper's evil plot was foiled because he had underestimated his 1st mate. Gilligan was actually a brilliant detective who had been investigating nefarious goings-on at The Tropic Port, and had traced them to the Skipper and his gang of scoundrels. His bumbling goofy demeanor (a la Colombo) and seemingly silly high-jinks enabled him to thwart the Skipper at every turn, while at the same time keeping the other castaways from becoming alarmed. The Professor got hip to what was going down pretty quick, and assisted Gilligan in any way he could. Although most of the engineering ideas came from the Professor (coconut telephones, etc.), he actually had to consult Gilligan for a lot of his more hard-core science diversions, since Gilligan had PhDs in both nuclear physics and organic chemistry. Most of the sexual tension in the show arose from the 3-way love triangle between Gilligan, the Professor, and May Ann, who was a vacationing pole dancer from Iowa. Add your reply
- U + 10 Unregistered 2012-06-14 13:11:45 Five tourists from different walks of life decided to sail the high seas for adventure, photography, umbrella drinks, suntan, salty air, dolphin sightings and the wind in their face. Well, they got all that and more. They were all enjoying the cruise and when winds driffed in creating high swells of water, the party was over. At once they sheltered themselves with what little they could find, said their prayers and kissed their butts goodbye. On the other hand, the skipper being the salty dog that he was, somehow kept his vessle afloat till it crashed on a rather large bogg. You know the rest of the story. Or, you could simply sum it all up and say "never head out without asking the captain what the weather radar said" Rob s. Add your reply
- U + 8 Unregistered 2015-08-13 18:11:32 The fact that they could make, from scratch on the island, all the amenities of life that they could think of but, still couldn't fix a 2 1/2 foot hole in the boat will be grist for the conspiracy-mill for decades to come. I propose a congressional committee be formed to investigate. Add your reply
- g + 7 glenndgreenwood 2018-01-21 17:00:59 Have a seat and listen to this story. It's a story about an unfortunate sailing excursion that was supposed to last just a few hours. It all started on a small sailing vessel (S. S. Minnow) at a port in Hawaii. The first mate (whose name was Gilligan [it's unknown if it was his first or last name]) was an experienced, but somewhat klutzy man. The Captain (Jonas Grumby A. K. A "Skipper') was a large, courageous man. The marine experience between the two sailors would turn out to be invaluable to the survival of the story to come. On this particular day, the Captain and his First Mate were taking five passengers on a sight-seeing tour. Among the passengers were a wealthy couple (Thurston Howell iii) and his wife (Eunice "Lovee" Wentworth Howell), a beautiful movie star (Ginger Grant), a professor (Roy Hinckley), and a beautiful, yet modest, farm girl from Winfield, Kansas (Mary Ann Summers). A couple hours into the cruise, a storm set in, setting the sailing vessel off course. The small vessel was tossed about in the tumultuous storm. The winds were blowing hard. Lighting pierced the sky and the thunder boomed loudly. The rain was relentless. Their little sight-seeing tour suddenly took a turn for the worst. The Captain and his First Mate fought hard to keep the vessel afloat. They had to assure the safety of their passengers at any cost. The storm lasted though out the night, leaving the crew and her passengers exhausted. By storms end, the vessel was beached on an uncharted, desolate island. It was fortunate that the vessel had been beached because there was a gaping hole in the starboard hull). Had the Captain and his First Mate been any less experienced, everybody would certainly have perished. The castaways befriended one another and soon became their own little community. They utilized most everything they could get their hands on. They had no electricity, no method of transportation, not a single luxury. Like the life of Robinson Crusoe, survival was a constant uphill battle. They endured many hardships, but remained optimistic through out their many experiences. Join us here each week for another chapter in the life and times of the marooned castaways on "Gilligan's Island". Add your reply

- U + 2 Unregistered 2017-02-15 05:26:11 The Professor on Gilligan's Island inspired a love of science in me. He was by far my favorite tv character when I was a young boy. I went on to become a science teacher, do postgraduate work on Hawaiian volcanoes and earn a Masters degree in Geoscience. The actor who played the professor, Russell Johnson, wrote a great memoir and told of other fans with advanced science degrees who were also inspired by the Professor! Add your reply

Anne Hathaway Goes from Embracing Leather in 80-Degree Weather to Baring Her Abs on N.Y.C. Press Tour
The actress, with the help of her stylist Erin Walsh, is pulling out all the style stops while promoting 'The Idea of You'

Anne Hathaway is up for a challenge, especially when it comes to fashion.
The actress, 41, has gone from Princess of Genovia to queen of high-fashion in her style renaissance (or shall we say, re- anne -ssance). And in recent years, she's pulled off many glamorous looks, now including the ones she most recently wore on the Idea of You press tour in New York City.
On April 28, the actress, who also produced the film, stepped out for a screening and panel event rocking leather from top to bottom, styled by Erin Walsh.
There were lots of layers to this edgy Ralph Lauren look, which featured a vest, blazer and trousers (all made of leather) that Walsh teamed with a black tie and white collared shirt. She also wore Jimmy Choo stilettos, plus sunglasses and jewelry by Bulgari.

The masculine-meets-feminine ensemble was reminiscent of Julie Andrews’ 1982 Victor/Victoria suit , which Hathaway also channeled on her cover of V Magazine .
What was also super impressive about Hathaway's commitment to leather, was that on the day she wore it, it was nearly 80 degrees in the Big Apple. How she could pull off one of the heaviest fabrics is unbeknownst to us, but she slayed nonetheless.

On April 29, the Oscar winner continued her style streak in two monochromatic outfits. First up, she served modern-day Victorian elegance in a Patou white minidress and cropped jacket (both adorned with gold buttons). She accessorized with Calzedonia white tights (a super trendy accessory right now) and a white Le Patou crescent bag also by Patou.
Hathaway then changed into a sheer aquamarine tank top by Simkhai that showed a hint of skin with the design’s abs-baring panel. The dress had an oceanic vibe to it as well, thanks to the flouncy curved hem on the skirt. Teal stilettos rounded out the look.

As with her style, Hathaway loves to push the envelope in the roles she plays, which is exactly what she did with The Idea of You (officially out on Prime Video on May 2).
“In the beginning of the film, the character...she's really scared of going on that adventure because she's had such a rough experience with her ex-husband,” she told PEOPLE of playing Soléne at the SXSW premiere in March. “And so to me, I was incredibly moved by the opportunity to tell the story of a woman blooming.”
Soléne finds love in Hayes ( Nicholas Galitzine ), a boy band member nearly two decades her junior, and Hathaway told PEOPLE it was “a real thrill to be a part of the team bringing this to life.”
“I don't know why we don't have more stories about human beings blooming at any age. We're always coming of age, all the time.”

How much the fall guy cost to make & what box office it needs to succeed.
Ryan Gosling's action comedy The Fall Guy looks to be an early summer hit, but what is its budget and how much does it have to make at the box office?
- The Fall Guy has a $125 million budget and needs to make at least $250 million to succeed at the box office.
- Starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, the action comedy faces challenges in today's theatrical climate.
- Despite the star power and high-octane action, The Fall Guy needs to make around $310 million to turn a profit.
Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s action comedy The Fall Guy is set to be an early summer hit, but what is the film’s budget and how much does it have to make at the box office to turn a profit? Loosely based on the classic 1980s TV series of the same name, The Fall Guy revolves around a hapless stuntman who gets swept up in a widespread conspiracy involving the star of his latest action movie project. Directed by Bullet Train ’s David Leitch, The Fall Guy is expected to be a fun, high-octane delight.
But it has a long way to go before it can turn a profit. Theatrical turnout keeps getting lower and lower, and The Fall Guy was an expensive movie to make. Gosling and Blunt are coming off the biggest box office hits of 2023 – Barbie and Oppenheimer , respectively – but only time will tell if they can get lucky again this year. How much did The Fall Guy cost to produce, and how much does it have to gross at the box office to be considered a success?
The Fall Guy's Budget Is $125 Million
The Fall Guy carries a hefty budget of $125 million (via Variety ). This high cost was likely due to the salaries commanded by A-list stars like Gosling and Blunt , who are both hot off of Oscar-nominated roles, and the expense of staging high-octane action sequences. This budget is pitched midway between an experimental mid-budget genre piece like Abigail or Challengers and the giant $200 million+ budgets of Marvel and DC movies.
The Fall Guy's Box Office Needs To Make At Least $250 Million To Succeed
With a budget of $125 million, The Fall Guy will need to make at least $250 million at the worldwide box office to be considered a success. Marketing a big movie like The Fall Guy usually costs about as much as it cost to produce, so these movies generally need to double their production budget to become a box office success. But that won’t be enough to turn a profit; that’ll just be enough to get the movie in the black.
To get into profitable territory, it’ll have to make around 2.5 times its budget (or more), which would be around $310 million . Big-budget, star-studded action comedies like this used to be guaranteed hits, but the genre has suffered some huge bombs in the past couple of years. Barbie and Oppenheimer succeeded because they offered audiences something they’d never seen before, but based on the first reactions to The Fall Guy , it seems to be a fairly formulaic mix of romance and action. Even if it’s a great example of that formula, The Fall Guy might struggle at the box office.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour Is a 3-Hour Career-Spanning Victory Lap
By Waiss Aramesh
Waiss Aramesh
How do we measure the impact of a musician in 2023? Streams can be bought. Awards can be finessed. Is it when demand for show tickets leads to a congressional hearing about Ticketmaster’s policies? Or when flight attendants shout out a fanbase making a pilgrimage to see a tour opener? Or when TikToks of merch inspirations and setlist predictions rack up millions of views? Nearly a decade ago, a headline ran declaring ‘ Taylor Swift Is The Music Industry’ and those with even the slightest pulse on pop culture can tell she’s only grown more omnipresent since. It all led to a warm evening in Glendale, Arizona where months after delivering her most commercially-successful album to date, Midnights , Swift debuted a discography-spanning setlist that lasted over three hours and kicked off an aptly-named stadium run. The Eras Tour has arrived.
After night had fallen and GAYLE and Paramore revved the crowd up with a mix of recent chart-toppers (GAYLE’s “abcdefu”) and cultural anthems (Paramore’s “Misery Business”), it was time for the main event. At 7:57pm, a timer appeared on a massive screen prompting screams from all corners of State Farm Stadium. Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” played as fans braced themselves for the arrival of Swift. When the timer hit 0:00, the house we’d seen in the “Lover” music video assembled on the screen, indicating that this evening was first and foremost about reviving the feelings each era evoked.
Editor’s picks
The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.
It’s easy to compare one of Swift’s stadium shows to something you’d see on Broadway — never has that been more true than for The Eras Tour . The setlist is cut up into acts, grouped together by eras for each of Swift’s ten studio albums. For each era/act, Swift went full-send into that album’s look, feel, costume, color blocking, and more.
Many eras got a few songs. At one moment, it seemed like Swift’s soft spot for Folklore would mean we’d hear the entire album. On the opposite end, Speak Now ’s part of the show was short but impactful. Swift played only one song from her third studio album, “Enchanted,” while wearing a stunning floor-length ballroom gown designed by Nicole + Derr. Hopping from act to act, Swift made it extremely clear when she’s taking the audience out of one era and into another. This isn’t a hastily put together setlist with a vague thread of connective tissue — Swift is taking her audience on a nostalgic extravaganza.

Taylor Swift Dominates Entire Top 10 on Hot 100. Again
Taylor swift makes chart history with ‘the tortured poets department', how st. vincent unlocked her realest album yet.
For “The Man,” Swift completed her Versace look with a blazer and made sure everyone could see the red bottoms when she kicked her feet up on a conference room table as she delivered the masterfully written and scathing assessment of gender inequality in pop culture. Swift closed out the Lover era act with “You Need to Calm Down” and “The Archer,” the latter getting a beautifully stripped down rendition so Swift’s vocals echoed across the stadium: “Because all of my enemies started out friends / Help me hold onto you.”
At one point, as Swift ran through hits from her Fearless era, she flashed a smile and announced to the crowd that she was taking us back to high school with her. The nostalgia seeped into the show, resulting in some of the loudest crowd participation yet, especially from those old enough to have grown up with Swift and were in high school at the same time she was. The singer ran through “Fearless,” “You Belong With Me,” and “Love Story,” reminding us of a time when we discovered the pop phenomenon unbeknownst to the level of celebrity she’d achieve.
Something about Swift — she’s online. If the fact that she decided to end last night with the TikTok-friendly “Karma” doesn’t make that obvious enough, her joke about disliking Evermore hammers home the point.
Later on in the act reserved for her ninth studio album, in line with how theatrical the event was, Swift set up a beautiful dinner setting only to deliver a heart-wrenching rendition of “Tolerate It.” She also performed “Tis the Damn Season,” “Willow,” “Marjorie,” and “Champagne Problems,” giving fans a sizable taste of the Evermore live experience they weren’t able to receive when the project came out in 2020.
For the acts dedicated to Reputation and Red , fans were treated to a masterclass in visuals and hitmaking, two key elements that has assured Swift prolonged success for as long as she’s had it. The powerful, striking, snake motifs were an awesome callback for fans who attended the Reputation tour.
For Red , Swift went through “22,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and “I Knew You Were Trouble. She closed out the act with a beautiful performance of the 10-minute “Taylor’s Version” of “All Too Well.” In the evening’s most ethereal moment, small white confetti made to look like snow blanketed the State Farm Stadium as she neared the end of her magnum opus, singing “Because in this city’s barren cold/I still remember the first fall of snow/And how it glistened how it fell/I remember it all too well.” Not only is Swift a savant for world-building, but she’s perfected the ability to translate those worlds into the live experience.
Swift wasn’t shy about making sure people got the full Folklore live experience. A makeshift cabin, not unlike the one made during Swift’s 2021 Grammys performance, sat on the stage with Swift perched on it during “Invisible String.” The star also discussed how she finally got comfortable crafting narratives for purely fictional characters, rather than ripping them from the headlines about her life.
1989’s era act turned the party up and restored the energy, with Swift donning a Roberto Cavalli top and skirt and going through “Style,” “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “Bad Blood.”
To cap off the evening, Swift returned to Midnights , performing album highlights “Lavender Haze,” “Mastermind,” and more. It was hard to ignore the immense gratitude the singer continued to exude throughout the evening, with the “thank yous” coming more and more often the closer she got to the end.
Eventually, the singer asked the crowd if they had time for one more and launched into her finale, “Karma,” a track with a passionate chorus that’s begging to be scream-sung in a room of over 70,000 who’ve been waiting for this exact moment for years. Maybe it’s fitting that an artist who’s had more than her fair share of ups and downs, and at times has been the most polarizing musician alive, ends her stadium tour opener with a song about how she can finally protect her peace. Karma’s a relaxing thought, indeed.

Take a tour through the entire history of human culture.
This three-hour trail takes you through our major galleries, showcasing the most popular objects on display.
Lower and Ground floors
1. the sloane astrolabe ( room 1 ).
Crafted around 1300, this astrolabe is named for Hans Sloane, whose collection formed the basis of the British Museum. It's the earliest and largest English astrolabe to have survived from the Middle Ages and shows a knowledge of Arabic astronomy and instrumentation.
2. The Holy Thorn Reliquary
2. the holy thorn reliquary ( room 2a ).
Lavishly decorated with jewels and originating in France around 1400, this reliquary contains a single thorn purported to be taken from the biblical crown of thorns. It's one of a small number of goldsmiths' works surviving from the courts of the Valois royal family of medieval France.
3. Assyrian lion hunt reliefs (Room 10)
3. assyrian lion hunt reliefs ( room 10 ).
Originating from the ancient Mesopotamian city of Nineveh, near modern-day Mosul in Iraq, these reliefs were carved during the reign of Ashurbanipal – the last great Assyrian king – and rank among the finest known achievements of Assyrian art.
4. Parthenon sculptures (Room 18)
4. parthenon sculptures ( room 18 ).
Carved about 2,500 years ago, these ancient Greek sculptures adorned the Parthenon, a temple on the Athenian Acropolis that once contained a colossal gold and ivory statue of the goddess Athena.
5. The Rosetta Stone (replica within Room 1)
5. the rosetta stone ( room 4 ).
The key that unlocked the hieroglyphic language of ancient Egypt, the Rosetta Stone is the Museum's most popular exhibit and one of the cornerstones of modern Egyptology. Don't leave without seeing it for yourself.
6. Bust of Ramesses the Great (Room 4)
6. bust of ramesses the great ( room 4 ).
This section of a larger statue, which weighs 7.5 tonnes, once sat in the Ramesseum, in Egypt, venerating Ramesses II, one of the greatest Egyptian pharaohs. Coverage of the bust's transportation to the UK is believed to have inspired Shelley's famous sonnet, Ozymandias .
7. The Ife Head
7. the ife head ( room 25 ).
A brass casting, maybe 600 years old, probably depicting Ooni, the leader of the West African Kingdom of Ife. Lifelike depictions of people such as those from Ife are unique in African art of the period and reflect important aspects of this landmark culture that existed by the lower Niger River.
8. Hoa Hakananai'a (Room 24)
8. hoa hakananai'a ( room 24 ).
This statue, known as Hoa Hakananai'a, comes from the ritual centre of Orongo on Rapa Nui (Easter Island). Carved from basalt, it has carvings on the back associated with the islanders' birdman cult. It is of great significance to the people of Rapa Nui today.
9. Aztec serpent (Room 27)
9. aztec serpent ( room 27 ).
Created in what is now Mexico in the 15th or 16th century, this extraordinary double-headed serpent sculpture is mostly made of turquoise pieces over a wooden base and probably had ritual significance.
Upper floor
10. oxus treasure ( room 52 ).
Stunning examples of gold and silver metalwork found in the Oxus river, on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, which date back to the Achaemenid Empire of the 5th to 3rd century BC. Together, the pieces form one of the British Museum's great collections.
11. Mold ceremonial gold cape
11. mold ceremonial gold cape ( room 51 ).
At the centre of a stone-lined grave, found in Mold in North Wales in 1833, was a crushed gold cape around the fragmentary remains of a skeleton. Strips of bronze and numbers of amber beads were recovered, but only one of the beads reached the British Museum.
This cape is one of the finest examples of prehistoric sheet-gold working and is quite unique in form and design. The cape was restored at the British Museum during the 1960s. Before that, no one really knew its exact original shape. It dates back to the European Bronze Age.
12. Basse Yutz flagons
12. basse yutz flagons ( room 50 ).
These ceremonial drinking vessels were discovered in France and produced in the 5th century BC. Once considered too sophisticated to be genuine, their manufacture points to trading links between distant areas of Europe and cultural links with Egypt.
13. The Hinton St Mary Mosaic
13. the hinton st mary mosaic ( room 49 ).
Discovered in Dorset in 1963 and originally part of a Roman-period mosaic floor, the Hinton St. Mary Mosaic is believed to show an image of Jesus Christ. If so, it would be one of the earliest surviving depictions, dating back to the 4th century.
14. Jade terrapin
14. jade terrapin ( room 43 ).
Carved from a single piece of jade, this Terrapin was made in Mughal India, during the early 17th century, for the court of the Emperor Jahangir. It was discovered at the bottom of a well during excavations in 1803 and was subsequently bequeathed to the Museum in 1830.
15. The Sutton Hoo ship burial
15. the sutton hoo ship burial ( room 41 ).
Found undisturbed in 1939, the many artefacts of the Sutton Hoo burial date back to 7th century Britain and are popularly believed to have belonged to an Anglo-Saxon king. See one of the most magnificent archaeological discoveries ever made in the UK for yourself.
16. Lewis Chessmen (Room 40)
16. lewis chessmen ( room 40 ).
Fashioned from walrus ivory and brimming with personality, the Lewis Chessmen were made in the 12th century and discovered buried in a sand bank off the Scottish island of Lewis in 1831. They have been described as the most famous chess pieces in the world.
17. Mechanical galleon
17. mechanical galleon ( room 39 ).
Constructed in around 1585 in southern Germany, this elaborately but precisely designed nef (a type of table ornament) is made of gilded brass. When it worked, it would have displayed a range of automated movements – rolling forward on its wheels, emitting smoke from the cannons, and playing music – as well as functioning as a clock.
18. Royal Game of Ur (Room 56)
18. royal game of ur ( room 56 ).
Originally played in the early third millennium BC and once popular across the Middle East, the rules of this two-player strategy boardgame were lost to history until British Museum curator Irving Finkel decoded a cuneiform tablet containing the instructions in the early 1980s.
19. The Flood Tablet
19. the flood tablet ( room 55 ).
The Assyrian King Ashurbanipal (reigned 669–631BC) collected a library of thousands of cuneiform tablets in his palace at Nineveh. The best known of these was the story of Gilgamesh, a legendary ruler of Uruk, and his search for immortality. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a huge work, the longest piece of literature in Akkadian (the language of Babylonia and Assyria). This, the 11th tablet of the Epic, describes the meeting of Gilgamesh with Utnapishtim. Like Noah in the Hebrew Bible, Utnapishtim had been forewarned of a plan by the gods to send a great flood. He built a boat and loaded it with all his precious possessions, his kith and kin, domesticated and wild animals and skilled craftsmen of every kind.
20. Sphinx of Taharqo
20. sphinx of taharqo ( room 65 ).
This statue was found in Temple T at Kawa, in Upper Nubia (Sudan). Sphinxes are associated with the sun god and are a symbol of the immense power of the Egyptian king. The human head of this sphinx is adorned with two uraei, the symbols of kingship. The face is that of Taharqo, whose name appears in the cartouche on the chest. Taharqo was one of the kings of Kush who conquered and then ruled Egypt as the 25th Dynasty (about 747–656 BC).
21. Mummy of Katebet (Room 63)
21. mummy of katebet ( room 63 ).
One of the most-studied mummies in the Museum, Katebet was a Chantress of Amun, and would have sung and performed music during rituals. Both the mummy and her accoutrements are incredibly well preserved, despite dating back to 1300 BC.
22. Samurai armour (Room 92–94)
22. samurai armour ( room 93 ).
Armour and weaponry defined the samurai's authority on the battlefield. This complete, matching set of armour was produced for a member of the powerful Mori family, who were samurai lords based in western Japan.

Tour ‘The Office’ for Yourself at this Immersive Exhibit in Chicago
As one of the most-streamed TV shows of all time, “The Office” has no shortage of fans who welcome the cast into their homes each day. Who are we kidding, the cast is more like family and the office bullpen is more like a second living room in our house!
We’ve shared before about our adventures touring must-see Office locations in Scranton, PA , and our detour to check out Chandler Valley Center Studios in California where they filmed The Office .
But most recently, we toured the re-created set in Chicago’s immersive exhibit, The Office Experience, and that might just take the cake!
What can you do at The Office Experience?
Located at 540 Michigan Ave., The Office Experience is an interactive, completely immersive experience that transports you right into the show. We visited the exhibit in fall 2021, but it’s still open until March 27, 2022. (Also, just a quick note: Masks were required when we visited, but now they’re recommended.)
Throughout the winding exhibit, you can sit at your favorite character’s desk , imagining the smells of Phyllis’ perfume or the sounds of Dwight clipping his fingernails.
Compete to win Dunderball in the first Dunder Mifflin Olympiad, aka Office Olympics.
Test your Office trivia skills with a life-size Stanley-inspired crossword puzzle.
Visit Schrute Farms and sit in Dwight’s rocking chair.
Panic when you spill Kevin’s famous chili .
Work at Michael Scott Paper Company and think about which corner will be your personal space.
Dance at Café Disco , without a care in the world.
Look for all the hidden gems in each area of the office – like Dwight’s dead goose (a “Christmas miracle!”) or the coffee mugs from Kelly’s “America’s Got Talent” party.
Pose for a photo op. The exhibit staff will happily help you capture your Office moment. You can even film your own talking-head interview by using the selfie tripod and choosing from a few different scripts that are written on cue cards for your convenience.
Around every corner of the exhibit, we were ooh-ing and ahh-ing, chuckling in fangirl delight. Perhaps none more so than at the entrance of the exhibit, where cases of real show props shone in all their glory.
Feel The Office come alive in this unforgettable fan experience. It costs between $37.50-$55 for individuals; tickets cost more during peak hours and if you choose to get your own personalized Dunder Mifflin employee badge (which we had to, of course!).
I wonder where our Office fandom will take us next… If you have any ideas, drop them in the comments!

Bon Jovi docuseries 'Thank You, Goodnight' is an argument for respect
Eric Deggans

Jon Bon Jovi at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn., in 2013.
Hulu's docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story , spends a lot of time building up the Bon Jovi legend — exploring the band's almost unbelievable 40-plus-year run from playing hardscrabble rock clubs in New Jersey to earning platinum albums and entry into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
But what moved me most in the four-part series was something more revealing: its close look at the struggle by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi to overcome vocal problems which nearly led him to quit the band.
Footage of the singer croaking through vocal exercises, undergoing laser treatments, enduring acupuncture and finally turning to surgery is sprinkled throughout the series, which toggles back and forth between his problems in 2022 and a chronological story of the band's triumphs and tragedies from its earliest days.
Refusing to be Fat Elvis

Jon Bon Jovi was interviewed for Thank You, Goodnight .
Through it all, a question hangs: Will Bon Jovi ever recover enough vocal strength to lead a 40th anniversary tour?
"If I can't be the very best I can be, I'm out," he tells the cameras, still looking a bit boyish despite his voluminous gray hair at age 62. "I'm not here to drag down the legacy, I'm not here for the 'Where are they now?' tour ... I'm not ever gonna be the Fat Elvis ... That ain't happening."
Filmmaker Gotham Chopra — who has also directed docuseries about his father, spiritualist Deepak Chopra, and star quarterback Tom Brady — digs deeply into the band's history, aided by boatloads of pictures, video footage and early recordings provided by the group.
Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora in Thank You, Goodnight Disney/Hulu hide caption
Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora in Thank You, Goodnight
Chopra gets folks from the group's tight inner circle to speak up, including former manager Doc McGhee and guitarist Richie Sambora, who quit the band in 2013. ("Are we telling the truth, or are we going to lie, what are we going to do?" Sambora cracks to his offscreen interviewer. "Let's figure it out.")
But anyone expecting gossipy dish will walk away disappointed. Even major scandals in the band's history are handled with care, including the firing of founding bassist Alec John Such in 1994 (and the admission that his replacement, Hugh McDonald, already had been secretly playing bass parts on their albums for years), drummer Tico Torres' stint in addiction treatment and Sambora's decision to quit midway through a tour in 2013, with no notice to bandmates he had performed alongside for 30 years.
Alec John Such, a founding member of Bon Jovi, dies at 70
Sambora's explanation: When issues with substance use and family problems led him to miss recording sessions, Bon Jovi got producer John Shanks to play more guitar on their 2013 record What About Now . And Sambora was hurt.
"[Bon Jovi] had the whole thing kinda planned out," Sambora says, "which basically was telling me, um, 'I can do it without you.'"
Building a band on rock anthems

The docuseries shows how young New Jersey native John Bongiovi turned a job as a gofer at legendary recording studio The Power Station – owned by a cousin — into a recording of his first hit in the early 1980s, Runaway . His song eventually caught the ear of another little-known artist from New Jersey called Bruce Springsteen.
"The first demo I got of Jon's was a good song," says Springsteen, a longtime friend of Bon Jovi. "I mean, Jon's great talent is these big, powerful pop rock choruses that just demand to be sung by, you know, 20,000 people in an arena."
Music Interviews
Rock star jon bon jovi comes full 'circle'.
Thank You, Goodnight shows the band really took off by honing those rock anthems with songwriter Desmond Child, while simultaneously developing videos that showcased their status as a fun, rollicking live band. Hits like You Give Love a Bad Name, Livin' on a Prayer and Wanted: Dead or Alive made them MTV darlings and rock superstars.
Through it all, the singer and bandleader is shown as the group's visionary and spark plug, open about how strategically he pushed the band to write hit songs and positioned them for commercial success.
"It wasn't as though I woke up one morning and was the best singer in the school, or on the block, or in my house," he tells the camera, laughing. "I just had a desire and a work ethic that was always the driving force."
I saw that dynamic up close in the mid-1990s when I worked as a music critic in New Jersey, spending time with Jon Bon Jovi and the band. Back then, his mother ran the group's fan club and was always trying to convince the local rock critic to write about her superstar son – I was fascinated by how the band shrugged off criticisms of being uncool and survived changing musical trends, led by a frontman who worked hard to stay grounded.
Bon Jovi was always gracious and willing to talk; he even introduced me to then-New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman at one of his legendary Christmas charity concerts. (And in a crazy coincidence, the band's backup singer Everett Bradley is an old friend from college.)
I think the docuseries captures Bon Jovi's skill at leading the group through challenges musical and otherwise — from metal's slow fade off the pop charts to the rise of grunge rock — something the singer rarely gets credit for achieving.
Still, much of Thank You, Goodnight feels like an extended celebration of the band and its charismatic frontman, leavened by his earnest effort to regain control of his voice. If you're not a Bon Jovi fan, four episodes of this story may feel like a bit much (I'd recommend at least watching the first and last episodes.)
More than anything, the docuseries feels like an extended argument for something Bon Jovi has struggled to achieve, even amid million selling records and top-grossing concert tours – respect as a legendary rock band.
The audio and digital versions of this story were edited by Jennifer Vanasco .

What the New Overtime Rule Means for Workers
One of the basic principles of the American workplace is that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Simply put, every worker’s time has value. A cornerstone of that promise is the Fair Labor Standards Act ’s (FLSA) requirement that when most workers work more than 40 hours in a week, they get paid more. The Department of Labor ’s new overtime regulation is restoring and extending this promise for millions more lower-paid salaried workers in the U.S.
Overtime protections have been a critical part of the FLSA since 1938 and were established to protect workers from exploitation and to benefit workers, their families and our communities. Strong overtime protections help build America’s middle class and ensure that workers are not overworked and underpaid.
Some workers are specifically exempt from the FLSA’s minimum wage and overtime protections, including bona fide executive, administrative or professional employees. This exemption, typically referred to as the “EAP” exemption, applies when:
1. An employee is paid a salary,
2. The salary is not less than a minimum salary threshold amount, and
3. The employee primarily performs executive, administrative or professional duties.
While the department increased the minimum salary required for the EAP exemption from overtime pay every 5 to 9 years between 1938 and 1975, long periods between increases to the salary requirement after 1975 have caused an erosion of the real value of the salary threshold, lessening its effectiveness in helping to identify exempt EAP employees.
The department’s new overtime rule was developed based on almost 30 listening sessions across the country and the final rule was issued after reviewing over 33,000 written comments. We heard from a wide variety of members of the public who shared valuable insights to help us develop this Administration’s overtime rule, including from workers who told us: “I would love the opportunity to...be compensated for time worked beyond 40 hours, or alternately be given a raise,” and “I make around $40,000 a year and most week[s] work well over 40 hours (likely in the 45-50 range). This rule change would benefit me greatly and ensure that my time is paid for!” and “Please, I would love to be paid for the extra hours I work!”
The department’s final rule, which will go into effect on July 1, 2024, will increase the standard salary level that helps define and delimit which salaried workers are entitled to overtime pay protections under the FLSA.
Starting July 1, most salaried workers who earn less than $844 per week will become eligible for overtime pay under the final rule. And on Jan. 1, 2025, most salaried workers who make less than $1,128 per week will become eligible for overtime pay. As these changes occur, job duties will continue to determine overtime exemption status for most salaried employees.
The rule will also increase the total annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees (who are not entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA if certain requirements are met) from $107,432 per year to $132,964 per year on July 1, 2024, and then set it equal to $151,164 per year on Jan. 1, 2025.
Starting July 1, 2027, these earnings thresholds will be updated every three years so they keep pace with changes in worker salaries, ensuring that employers can adapt more easily because they’ll know when salary updates will happen and how they’ll be calculated.
The final rule will restore and extend the right to overtime pay to many salaried workers, including workers who historically were entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA because of their lower pay or the type of work they performed.
We urge workers and employers to visit our website to learn more about the final rule.
