i Yelp a lot. like, a LOT. it's not often you happen upon a business that has so many excellent reviews. i'm here to confirm that the excellent reviews are accurate. my husband and i have been on many a whale watch, but never a seal watch. knowing the weather yesterday was going to be amazing, we decided to give it a go. what to expect: free parking in a grassy area that abuts the dock. there are no bathrooms on site, but there is a port-a-potty which is very clean and easily accessible. there is some bench seating where you can hang out while waiting for your tour time. the website states you should arrive half an hour prior to your time, and that anyone who isn't there twenty minutes prior, is probably going to be left behind. knowing that, we were there promptly at 10, for our 10:30 tour. our captain (Captain Rob) started calling out party names at ten after, and, since we were all assembled, we actually ended up leaving a little early. he sat us by party in the boat, but was deliberate about instructing us where to sit, ensuring that the boat would be balanced. a note regarding the boat: at most, i would guess that the boat can seat about 12 - 14 adults comfortably. we were a party of 6 adults and two kids, so this is a pretty intimate tour. i've been on a bunch of different boats, but this was the smallest. if you are not used to being close to the water, this is a great introduction. you can expect to go at a pretty low speed as you are exiting the harbor, but you'll be going at around 25 mph when you are out, and heading toward the seals. the seals! there were so many! we did see several just bobbing in the water, as well as swimming, but we also saw huge crowds of them just hanging out on some sand bars. we could hear their braying and howling (a sign of contentment, according to Captain Rob), especially as we got close and the motor was turned off. the tour was a nice balance of history about the area, and the beautiful houses lining the shores, as well as information about the seals. you do get up close and personal, as they're often curious about the boat, so we had seals who were just feet away from us. Captain Rob- i can't say enough good things. he was incredibly nice, and developed a great rapport with not only the adults, but the two little kids (who, credit to their parents, were incredibly well-behaved). he just had such a gentle manner about him, and i felt very safe in his care. if you've never been on a seal watch, or you've never been out with Blue Claw, i highly, highly recommend. my husband and i will definitely be back, we enjoyed ourselves so much. this is a great way to spend around two hours out on the water, and appreciating a little slice of the beautiful Cape.

Captain Rob is the best! This tour is top notch, very informative and enjoyable. There are an abundance of seals and tern island is quaint and relaxing. The boat ride is stunning and Captain Rob doesn't miss a beat!

Made reservations for four about an hour before the 10:00AM seal trip. Met at the dock by Captain Phil, we boarded with four more adults and a few kids. This was a nice trip. On a low tide the captain was still able to gets us pretty close to the seal herds. Learned a bit about them too. On the way in and out there is decent scenery, big oceanfront mansions and more to see. For $45 this trip is a bargain.

This was our second seal watch tour with Blue Claw. The first was several years ago and this one was even better than the first. Cap. Rob was terrific. We started with a map overview of our route and a safety review which was itself surprising and informative.

Photo of Tom R.

This was our seventh year in a row going out to see the seals with Captain Rob - it has become a family tradition for us and is enjoyable every time we go! It's a great view of Orleans and Chatham from the water and Captain Rob provides a great telling of all the lore of the area and the sea animals, seals and sharks alike. With so many seals in the area, it's only a matter of time before they show up on the tour.

blue claw boat tours

Captain Tom made our boat tour awesome by adding lots of information from his lifetime of experience living in the area! We were impressed by how much we could see over the hour and 45 min ride and loved the seals! It's a must do while visiting Cape Cod.

Captain Rob was a delight - lots of seals, great conversation, and a nice ride enjoyed by all. Thank you!

Great tour. Saw lots of seals and enjoyed our fast boat ride. Our 4-year-old loved it, too.

Amazing trip with Captain Rob for an hour and forty minute seal watch in August. There were 10 people on this intimate boat and we brought our two little girls (ages 2 and 4). This was the right length of time for our girls who loved it! We saw 100+ seals and the tour of the area was wonderful! We'd definitely go again! Tips: apply sunscreen before (not allowed to apply on board)

About Blue Claw Boat Tours... Our 1-1/2 hr guided tour from Orleans, travels to Chatham and back along the historic waterway of Pleasant Bay once used by early pilgrims, pirates and Indians. Capt Rob will regale you with tales of the rich history and natural bounty of this pristine ecosystem. A lighthouse, seals, rustic beach camps, seaside mansions, deserted islands, and maybe a Great White shark are viewed along the way. Capt Rob (USCG licensed master of 30 years) and our vessel is USCG inspected. See why we are the fastest growing tour on Cape. Private custom cruises a specialty.

What a great time. I highly recommend booking Blue Claw. The Captain was great. The boat has a lot of room for either a large group or a small private family tour. My children 3 & 5 yrs old, had a blast seeing all the seals, wildlife, & historical shorelines along the tour. Adam J

Can't recommend this tour highly enough! We (two grandparents, two grandchildren ages 12 & 6, and an adult daughter) took his 1.5 hour trip from Orleans Meetinghouse Pond and had a great time! Capt. Rob does a great job with narration along the way, you get to see beautiful homes that you can't see from land, Pleasant Bay is fabulous, and the seals magnificent! A great trip and much more enjoyable than the seal cruise we took out of Monomoy last year. This is dry boarding, straight off the dock into the boat, not crowded and very reasonably priced.

If you want to see thousands of seals this is the tour for you! Entertaining and intimate boat...not 100s of people! Perfect for families and the kids will love listening to all of the seals. Learn some history of the area too while on this tour. And listen carefully about where the pirate treasures might be hidden.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

Cape Cod Sunset Cruise in Cape Cod, MA

Private sunset cruises are great for celebrations…family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor/bachelorette parties or any special occasion. .

Wind down, relax and delight in the sights as you meander slowly along a saltwater river to Little Pleasant Bay. Sit back and enjoy your refreshments while cruising past a salt marsh, old boat houses and stunning scenery that doesn’t get much better on Cape Cod.  Although this is not a seal cruise, we may spot one or two in the river or bay.  Take pleasure in the tranquility as the setting sun paints us a picture-perfect backdrop to our sunset cruise! Bring your favorite beverage to toast the end of a wonderful Cape Cod day!

We have a blue tooth speaker (for music to be paired with your device) and tables (for your refreshments) available.

*Please note: We do not travel to Chatham Harbor on this cruise to visit the seals or see the sights within the harbor.

If a Sunset Cruise is not available for your date check out our “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” cruise. Daily from 4-5:30.

  • Our captains limit their narration to allow time for you and your family to enjoy your own company.
  • You are welcome to bring along food and beverages of your choice. Plastic cups only for beverages, no beer bottles.
  • We recommend that you bring along jackets/rain jackets and dress appropriately for the weather that may happen during your trip.
  • Children under the age of 12 are required to wear a life jacket that we will provide. However, you may bring along your own.
