Tried to log on to the App to complete my boarding pass, but after I submitted my vaccine certificates the app hung and said they need to be verified. 6 hours later they are still sitting there. Waste of my time! Perhaps do they want the actual hard copies - but I used my iPhone as the printed copies take up a full page. So may have to start again. No feedback on why it is hung. Need to do much better - I completed Verifly with no issues, and Spanish and Italian forms, so the Celebrity app needs to improve.

Developer Response ,

We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, all vaccination certificate submissions are manually verified by our team. This process may take up to 2-3 weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to seeing you onboard!
Shandy and D have been excellent tour guides but Excursions too long on the bus and not enough relaxation time at first hotel Adiwana Kamania which, along with the staff, was superb. Sol Benoa Hotel had more facilities with beach, pool/bar and 3 restaurants but even though we tried to book a day in advance the expensive restaurant was fully booked. Kitchen restaurant needed more staff to clear tables and pool restaurant was restricted in choice. Trip to see the Fire Dance was literally a washout with torrential rain which really spoilt the day. Lot of time hanging about but the worst comment I would make would be about the last dinner en route home. Was looking forward to a seafood dinner but when it came the fish was dried out, the calamari was like rubber bands, the crab you couldn’t get into as there were no suitable utensils, the rice was cold and the vegetables were smothered in chilli. There was no choice for those who didn’t like hot, spicy food. The only edible fish were the small prawns which were still in their shells and coated with a sauce making them hard to peel. Got a bottle of water each but given the terrible meal we thought we would at least get a complimentary drink but were told the meal was ‘free’ and we had to pay for any drinks plus service charge. WORST MEAL I HAVE EVER NOT EATEN. Reputational it would be beneficial to move to another hotel.

Unable to Edit Errors

I used this app to generate my Xpress passes for a 4 night cruise and it worked perfectly. I then needed to generate 2 more passes for a follow on cruise. I mistakenly scanned my wife’s passport on my check in details and the app has generated my Xpress pass with my wife’s passport details, so you would think, just hit the edit button and scan the correct passport and everything would be fine! Not so, the app allows you to edit, then say there is an error and to try later (or something like that) so when I go back in, it still has the incorrect details there. If companies want me work for them (unpaid) and check myself in (what someone used to be employed for) that I suppose that’s ‘progress’ but make sure that when something goes wrong, it is easy for customers (who are paying for a service) are able to contact someone who can help!!
We sincerely apologize for the frustrations. We'd like to investigate and assist you with the issue you are facing. If you email us at [email protected], our app experts will follow up and make sure to get this resolved.

Problems With The Celebrity App

I had a cruise on August 14.  Now when I open the app it shows my next cruise’s dates and itinerary…but the cabin number of the previous cruise.  And when I click the person icon or the boarding button it shows my express passes from the previous cruise.  Anyone had this happen?  Any way to get it on the right track?  My phone won’t let me delete the app…only delete it from the Home Screen.  I had thought deleting and downloading it again might work but I can’t do that…

Sorry this is happening.  What phone won't let you delete an app?

20,000+ Club

When you log into your account on-line rather than the app are you seeing the correct info?

In the app have you tried clicking on the calendar icon and at the very  bottom of that screen is “ChangeShip/Dates”  when I click on that I can select my other reservations.   Maybe go to another reservation and then after a opening that one, go back to Change Ship/Dates and see if that gives you the info correctly.

While the Celebrity app has a long history of issues sure seems that you have a problem with your device.

Logging out and turning off your device, waiting a minute and restarting with often sort your device.  Obviously you need to delete and reinstall the app.

Celebrity's issue?  Possibly, but sounds like a device problem.  Also run your anti virus and cleaner.  Something is causing a problem.

I finally solved the issue last night.  As everyone suspected, it was a problem with my iPhone.  I Googled “why can’t I delete an app” and instead got answers as to how to delete one…which I already knew.  When I tried “why can I only delete an app from my Home Screen” I got the answer I was looking for.

I had to go to Settings-Screen Time-Privacy…to get to a page that showed deleting apps was not allowed.  I certainly did NOT ever set it up this way!!  I have had this exact phone for over a year and previously could delete apps from the Home Screen with just a long tap…wiggle…etc.  I have no idea how this got turned on that I could not delete apps!!!  It would seem to me if one was interested in monitoring one’s screen time (I am not 😜 ) then one would absolutely want the default to allow you to delete apps!!  Once again I mentally hung Steve Jobs in effigy.

Thanks for the help!  (This is one of the downsides to not having grandchildren…)

Glad you figured it out.  Maybe the CIA is watching your phone. 😆

Haha

The best cruise apps to streamline your vacation at sea

Side View Of Mid Adult Woman Using Mobile Phone While Sitting On Rock Against Sea

For better or worse, you'll be hard-pressed to go just about anywhere on today's cruise ships without your smartphone in hand. Major cruise lines have embraced the cell phone as a necessary travel accessory, and they've built out the app technology to go with it.

Nearly all major cruise lines feature their own apps with basic functionality that lets cruisers peruse deck plans and daily schedules. The more advanced ones feature a sleek digital embarkation process, cabin unlocking capabilities and plenty of opportunities to reserve dining and shore excursions.

The most cutting-edge apps at sea are where you'll find travel technology at its best: think ordering Champagne with the press of a button or having a fresh pizza delivered to you anywhere on the ship.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter

Whether you're angling for new towels while still in the pool or ready to order breakfast in bed from under the sheets, the best cruise apps will get you what you need quickly and easily. Here are our favorite cruise line-specific apps, as well as a few third-party apps that cruise fans will definitely want to download.

Note: Nearly all of these apps can be found on Apple's App Store or via Android Apps on Google Play. Be sure to download your cruise line's app onto your phone or tablet and log in to your account before you set sail. Once on board, opt for your phone's airplane mode and hop on the ship's Wi-Fi. Cruise line-specific apps will be free to use on board — no Wi-Fi package required.

Carnival HUB app

celebrity cruise line app

No matter where you are on a Carnival Cruise Line ship, there can be a pizza headed your way with just a few taps of the Carnival HUB app . Just mark your exact spot on the ship, take a selfie to identify yourself, and your order will be there shortly. The delivery is $5 but the pizza with unlimited toppings is free.

The HUB app is useful for perusing menus throughout the ship, reserving your seat for select mainstage shows and booking a ride on the new BOLT roller coaster on Carnival's Mardi Gras cruise ship. Onboard chat is available through the app for an additional $5 per person, limited to passengers ages 13 and over.

Celebrity Cruises App

celebrity cruise line app

The Celebrity Cruises App brings a smart-home sensibility to sea on Celebrity Cruises ' Edge-class ships (Celebrity Edge, Apex and Beyond). The app transforms your phone into a handy remote that controls your cabin's TV, room temperature, lighting options and window shades. Having clearly labeled, easy-to-dim lights at your fingertips is an understated luxury that we wish all ship cabins had.

Other winning app features found fleetwide include a digital key to get into your stateroom (not available on Celebrity Reflection), free in-app chat to connect with your group on the ship and an easy dinner reservation system.

Cruise Norwegian app

celebrity cruise line app

Norwegian Cruise Line 's Cruise Norwegian app has a rare and coveted feature for traversing the high seas: onboard-only phone calls, voicemails and messaging. It's a premium feature but at $9.95 per person, per cruise, the convenience of communication is worth the nominal price. Rates for calls off the ship start at $0.79 a minute. If your communication style is through gifts, the app can help with that, too: a few taps sends wine, flowers and specialty treats to any cabin on board.

CruiseMapper

celebrity cruise line app

Locate a cruise ship anywhere in the world in real time and then explore it with the free CruiseMapper app . The app is the most comprehensive cruise ship tracking app available, pinpointing nearly every major passenger ship at sea on all oceans, rivers and lakes at its exact location. Learn more about each ship with deck plans, cabin details, itinerary schedules and reviews.

Cunard Line's My Voyage

Cunard's My Voyage app is most useful as an onboard digital planner for your days at sea. A few features from the app that add some convenience to your getaway include virtual queues for restaurants, so you can grab a pre-dinner cocktail instead of waiting in line, and virtual restaurant reservations for those that want to plan ahead. If you're not feeling up to snuff, the app's telehealth feature will get you seen by the onboard medical team without having to leave your cabin.

Disney Cruise Line Navigator app

celebrity cruise line app

Disney Cruise Line has built one of the most robust app experiences at sea. The most helpful resource on the Navigator App is the onboard live chat feature that connects passengers to crew members including guest services, the port excursions team and the dining team. If your questions are a bit more than you can type, just request a one-on-one in-person meeting and the app will tell you where and when to show up. The app also features a free chat system featuring Disney emoticons, adding a touch of fun to your onboard communications.

Holland America Line Navigator app

celebrity cruise line app

Convenient, time-saving features are the main draw of Holland America Line 's refreshed Navigator app . Most exciting is the ability to order coffee, food or in-stateroom service from the app anywhere on the ship. If you're angling for a snack, simply fire up the app, place your order and within minutes your food will be ready for pick up at the ship's New York Deli & Pizza eatery.

The app also has a useful way of organizing your itinerary, providing you the convenience of selecting and saving activities you want to take part in to help you better plan your day. That itinerary will also include any dining reservations and shore excursions you've booked.

Mobile Passport Control

celebrity cruise line app

A must for any passengers cruising internationally, the Mobile Passport Control app (now known as the CPB MPC app) allows eligible passengers to upload their passport and customs declarations for digital screening. While the app and digital upload are not required to pass through customs, completing the steps on your app helps streamline your entry into the US. Consider the logistics of a large ship with thousands docking at a U.S. port, all required to go through customs at the same time, and you'll be glad you have this free app ready to help cut down on your overall wait time.

MSC for Me app

celebrity cruise line app

Whether you're planning your MSC cruise or already on board, the MSC for Me app can help you out. The app lets you keep in touch with your group via free in-app chat, book special events and restaurant reservations, and purchase drink packages, shore excursions and specialty dining opportunities.

The MSC for Me app is only available on MSC Cruises ' "smart" ships: MSC Bellissima, MSC Grandiosa, MSC Magnifica, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seashore, MSC Seaside, MSC Seaview, MSC Splendida and MSC Virtuosa. If you're traveling on MSC Bellissima, MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa, the app can also connect to a Bluetooth speaker in your room so you can set the mood with your favorite tunes.

Princess Cruises' MedallionClass app

celebrity cruise line app

Princess Cruises ' MedallionClass app has more functionality than many of the cruise line apps on this list. Use the app to order just about anything on board to just about anywhere, from food and drinks to merchandise. Restock your cabin with a few taps on the app for complimentary bathrobes, pillow options, towels, face masks, hangers and ice. Use the app to highlight activities you're interested in to create your own personalized itinerary. Keep in touch with your party through in-app messaging and location tracking via the ship's Medallion devices (more on those shortly).

If you're angling for a bit of gambling poolside or anywhere else on the ship, power up your app when the ship's at sea to wager virtual money in practice mode or real money on the app's casino. If you're looking for less-expensive thrills, PlayOcean turns the app into a digital scavenger hunt through the decks of the ship.

The app also helps to expedite the boarding process before your trip with passport uploading, a security photo and the option to pre-order your free Medallion device (a quarter-sized, wearable RFID device) that will be essential to your cruise experience.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises app

celebrity cruise line app

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has a less-conventional app that is most useful when in port. Built with shore excursions in mind, Regent's app provides amplification of your tour guide through the ease and comfort of your own device. Whether you're using your own headset or just holding the phone to your ear, it's nice to move at your own pace without needing to vie for a spot right in front of the tour guide.

Royal Caribbean App

celebrity cruise line app

The Royal Caribbean App helps save time navigating Royal Caribbean 's large-scale ships. Favorite features on the free app include the option to scan in your passport and proof of COVID-19 vaccination for expedited boarding, complimentary in-app group chats and easy dining and activity reservation access. Check the daily schedule to find fun things to do, in-app deck plans to figure out how to get there and your onboard bill to make sure all the fun you're having isn't taking you over budget. You can also watch safety videos on the app instead of gathering en masse for a muster drill.

Seabourn Source app

celebrity cruise line app

The Seabourn Source app is an encyclopedia of knowledge about your Seabourn ship. Start your meal planning ahead of time with daily menu updates from all the onboard dining venues, keep track of the daily activities and entertainment options available, and browse and book shore excursions. The app is a great resource to track your time in port, with detailed port arrival and departure times, ensuring a timely return to the ship.

Shipmate app

celebrity cruise line app

The Shipmate app by CruiseLine.com is a third-party cruise app that helps you count down to your next cruise with helpful user reviews, photos and a chat feature. Save all your previous cruises to keep track of where you've been while exploring the app's cruise deals to figure out where you're headed next. The app's Photos Section is a favorite feature, with user-uploaded photos to explore the ships from every angle. The app also features plenty of independent tour options in most ports with competitive rates and a guarantee that you'll be back to the ship on time.

Viking Voyager app

celebrity cruise line app

Viking 's free Viking Voyager app is excellent. The line's robust digital presence caters to tech-savvy passengers with features that include live TV (CNBC, BBC News, MSNBC, Fox News, Smithsonian, Sky News, National Geographic and others) and weather forecasts for upcoming ports help you plan accordingly. Timely reminders for your reservations on the cruise make sure you don't miss a spa appointment or dinner reservation. The app also features an art guide to explore the onboard art collection and learn more about the many original paintings, sculptures and photographs throughout the fleet.

Virgin Voyages' Sailor App

celebrity cruise line app

You'll find Virgin Voyages does everything with a bit of panache and its Sailor App is no exception. Once on board, open the app and shake your phone to reveal a secret button that, with just a simple press, will send a bottle of Moët & Chandon Impérial your way on nearly any deck. Be careful, though: That shake will cost you $95 for the bottle of bubbly. A few other features include virtual queues for the ship's restaurants and the round-the-clock access to chat with the guest services team instead of standing in line .

American woman disappears in Spain after unidentified man spray-painted apartment security cameras

Sanna Rameau, friend of American woman Ana Maria Knezevic, who is missing in Spain, tells 'Fox & Friends First' about the odd nature of her disappearance.

  • A cruise ship with approximately 1,500 passengers has been stranded in Barcelona due to visa issues faced by a group of Bolivian passengers.
  • The Bolivians reportedly lack valid documents to enter the European border-free Schengen area.
  • Spanish government officials are collaborating with Bolivian authorities to resolve the situation.

A cruise ship reportedly carrying 1,500 passengers was stuck Wednesday in the Spanish northeastern port of Barcelona due to the visa problems of a group of Bolivian passengers who were due to disembark there, officials said.

Authorities say 69 Bolivians are not being allowed to leave the ship because they lack valid documents to enter the European border-free Schengen area.

Spanish government officials in the city said they are in contact with Bolivian authorities and the MSC Cruises Company to resolve the situation. The ship had sailed from Brazil to cover a route in the Mediterranean Sea.

AMERICANS STRANDED BY NORWEGIAN CRUISE SAVE ELDERLY PASSENGER, FAMILY SAYS: SHIP 'LEFT HER TO DIE'

Spanish state news agency Efe and other media said that some 1,500 passengers were meanwhile on board the MSC Armony hoping to continue the cruise to Croatia.

A statement from the Bolivian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday said the Bolivian Embassy in Spain and the country’s Consulate General in Barcelona "are carrying out the pertinent steps to address this case," coordinating with Spanish authorities, as well as with the MSC Cruises Company.

MSC Cruises said in a statement the Bolivians included families and children.

It said the "passengers appeared to have proper documentation upon boarding in Brazil. We have been informed by the authorities that the visas are not valid for entry into the Schengen area. As a result, passengers have not been able to disembark in Barcelona, which was their final destination."

The company said the ship remained in port while it works with authorities to facilitate the process.

Celebrity cruise ship rescues 7 people from small vessel 'adrift' between Cuba and Mexico

celebrity cruise line app

A Celebrity Cruises ship rescued a group of people from another vessel between Cuba and Mexico this week.

Celebrity Apex “encountered a small vessel adrift and in need of assistance” on Monday, according to a spokesperson for the cruise line.

“The ship’s crew immediately launched a rescue operation, safely bringing (seven) people onboard,” the spokesperson told USA TODAY an emailed statement. “The crew provided them with medical attention, and is working closely with the U.S. Coast Guard.”

The ship departed from Fort Lauderdale for a week-long cruise with stops in Key West, Belize, Cozumel, Mexico and Grand Cayman on Saturday, according to CruiseMapper . The Celebrity spokesperson did not specify who the people in the vessel were.

The ship notified the Coast Guard of the rescue “but there was no U.S. Coast Guard involvement in the case” because of its location, Petty Officer Eric Rodriguez said.

“In accordance with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and maritime tradition, it is common and somewhat expected that mariners will render assistance to other seafarers in distress if they have the capability to do so,” he said in an email.

The news comes after another cruise ship, Carnival Jubilee, rescued two men stranded in a kayak off the coast of Mexico’s Isla Mujeres in January.

8 Norwegian Cruise Passengers Stranded on African Island Catch Up to Ship After Traversing 7 Countries

Sipa via AP

Nine Norwegian Cruise Line passengers were reportedly left behind on the African island of São Tomé and Príncipe on March 27

The group was on a guided excursion that got delayed, leading them to miss the ship’s "all aboard" call

A statement from Norwegian Cruise Lines noted that all guests are responsible for returning to the docked ship at the designated call time

Eight people were able to catch up to the ship on Tuesday morning after reportedly traversing seven countries.

One, who had fallen ill before the incident, has safely returned to the U.S.

Multiple passengers were stranded on an island in Africa after their Norwegian Cruise Line ship reportedly left them behind. After several days of uncertainty and a trek across seven countries, they're now back on board the vessel.

On Wednesday, March 27, South Carolina couple Jill and Jay Campbell were enjoying a guided tour on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe located off the continent's western coast, ABC15 News reported at the time. The pair was with six other American and Australian passengers when they realized they wouldn’t make it back to the ship on time due to their tour taking longer than planned.

Though the tour operator contacted the cruise ship’s captain to inform them of the delay, the captain refused to let them back on the still-anchored ship when they arrived at the port because it was after the "all aboard" call, per the outlet.

The São Tomé and Príncipe Coast Guard allegedly then took them by boat directly to the ship where the captain again did not permit them to board.

The group later encountered another stranded passenger, an 80-year-old woman, who was hospitalized on the island after a cruise line tour, the outlet stated. The woman reportedly experienced memory and vision loss due to a medical emergency.

In addition to the ill passenger, the group also includes one person who is pregnant, one with a heart condition and four elderly travelers.

The majority of the group left their medications and credit cards on the ship except for the Campbells, who have reportedly paid over $5,000 for food, accommodations, and other necessities for their fellow passengers.

On Sunday, the U.S. Embassy in Angola allegedly arranged for the group to fly to the West African country of Gambia, the ship's next planned port of call, so they could reboard.

Unfortunately, the group discovered the cruise ship wasn’t docked at the port in Gambia as planned because it had to spend another day at sea due to low tides. ABC News 4 reports the passengers spent fifteen hours traveling through six countries to make it to the port on Sunday.

“We have to cross the ferry to get into Senegal,” Campbell told the outlet on Monday, marking their seventh country. “We just learned from the gentleman that the ferry hadn’t been working, but he said no problem, if the ferry is not working we will get another little boat and then pick up a car on the other side. And then once we get on the other side of Senegal, it’s another four-hour drive.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, Norwegian Cruise Line said, “On the afternoon of March 27, 2024, while the ship was in São Tomé and Príncipe, an African island nation, eight guests who were on the island on a private tour not organized through us missed the last tender back to the vessel, therefore not meeting the all aboard time of 3 p.m. local time."

The statement continued, “While this is a very unfortunate situation, guests are responsible for ensuring they return to the ship at the published time, which is communicated broadly over the ship’s intercom, in the daily print communication and posted just before exiting the vessel.”

The cruise line added that guests are “responsible for any necessary travel arrangements” to meet the ship at the next port and that they had each of their passports “delivered to the local port agents to retrieve” when they missed their all aboard call.

The group was finally able to catch up to the vessel. They reached Dakar, Senegal, its next port, on Monday night, PEOPLE confirmed.

After what they'd been through, Jill told NBC News in a story published on Tuesday, "We are considering whether or not we are going to board the ship. We believe there was a basic duty of care that they had forgotten about, so it does concern us." While she allowed that Norwegian technically followed protocol, she says, "I believe that they really forgot that they are people working in the hospitality industry and really the safety and well-being of the customers should be their first priority."

On Tuesday morning, the eight passengers, less the person who had fallen ill and later safely returned home to the United States, chose to board the cruise. Norwegian confirmed the news to PEOPLE in a statement.

"Despite the series of unfortunate events outside of our control, we will be reimbursing these eight guests for their travel costs from Banjur, Gambia to Dakar, Senegal. We remain in communication with the guests and are providing additional information as it becomes available,"

The Norwegian Dawn departed from Cape Town, South Africa, on March 20 for a 21-day trip that will end in Barcelona on April 10.
