Bad Omens have teamed up with HEALTH and Swarm on their new single ‘The Drain’ and have announced ‘Concrete Jungle [The OST]’.

  • READ MORE: Bad Omens: “The goal with this band is to expand people’s musical horizons”

The track features booming synths alongside loud pounding beats. It also samples the band’s 2022 song ‘The Death Of Peace Of Mind’. HEALTH’s Jacob Duzsik and Bad Omens’ Noah Sebastian sing together, with lyrics such as “Everything I love has gone away ” providing musings on loss.

According to a press release, the track “serves as a testament to the symbiotic creative energy between these two formidable musical entities, drawing upon their individually distinct sonic profiles to create a masterfully-crafted, uniquely heavy single.”

The band have also unveiled a remix of ‘The Death Of Peace Of Mind’ created by New York-based producer, composer, and sound designer So Wylie. The hypnotic remix was discovered by Bad Omens on social media and led Sebastian and co. to invite So Wylie to contribute to ‘Concrete Jungle [The OST]’.

‘Concrete Jungle [The OST]’ is set for release on May 31 and has been described as an experimental extension of Bad Omens’ hit 2022 album ‘The Death Of Peace Of Mind’ and the soundtrack to their ‘Concrete Jungle’ comic book universe. Bad Omens Channel Their Industrial Metal Side on ‘THE DRAIN’

Metalcore band Bad Omens. Bad Omens The Drain - new song.

Bad Omens, “The Drain” – new song out now – Story by Anne Erickson, photo by Oswaldo Cepeda

Bad Omens have released a new song, called “THE DRAIN, ” which sees the guys channeling their industrial metal side. The song, which features industrial trio HEALTH and electronic act SWARM, will arrive on Bad Omens’ just-announced new release, “CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST].”

Bad Omens, ‘The Drain’ – Commentary

‘THE DRAIN’ opens with a heavy industrial metal beat, which makes way for Bad Omens vocalist Noah Sebastian and HEALTH’s Jacob Duzik’s soft, eerie vocals, which fit perfectly well together. The vocals have a whispering quality in the verses, but the chorus pops with power and force. While “THE DRAIN” has a stronger industrial metal leaning than most of Bad Omens’ music, it certainly fits with their current sound, especially when you compare it to a song like “What do you want from me?” off the band’s LP, “The Death of Peace of Mind.” “THE DRAIN” actually samples the song “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND,” which is currently inside the Top 10 at alternative radio.

On top of “THE DRAIN,” Bad Omens have released another bit of new music with their song “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND [SO WYLIE PATCH],” re-launched with a new mix by producer, composer, and sound designer So Wylie.

Bad Omens, New Album: ‘CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]’

In addition to the new song, Bad Omens have released the full details of their upcoming “CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]” release, which will hit stores on May 31. The release is “an experimental extension of Bad Omens’ hit LP The Death of Peace of Mind,” according to a release, and will include 26 tracks, including the band’s recent collaboration with Poppy, “V.A.N.”

“CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]” will also feature some guest appearances from Bob Vylan, Wargasm and ERRA, so it’s quite the mix of talent.

In other news, Bad Omens will hit the road on a short U.S. tour starting April 21 in San Antonio, Texas. While on tour, they’ll perform at a handful of festivals, including Sick New World and Welcome to Rockville. In June and early July, the guys will head to the U.K. and Europe for some shows and festival dates and then return to the States in late July.

Listen to “THE DRAIN” and “THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND [SO WYLIE PATCH].” Also, find the track list for “CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]” below.

MORE ON BAD OMENS:

Bad Omens are coming off a wildly successful two years with the explosive success of their breakthrough third studio album  The Death of Peace of Mind  (2022). Hailed as “a stunning fusion of dark, Weeknd-esque pop and industrialized metalcore” (Revolver), the project has racked up over 940 million streams globally and surged Bad Omens catalog to over 1.5 billion streams.

The genre-defyers continue their climb with the albums seductive RIAA Gold-certified title track, “ The Death of Peace of Mind ,” currently in the top 10 at Alternative Radio. Their radio success also earned Bad Omens a nomination for Best New Artist (Alt & Rock) at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Gaining momentum online and over the airwaves, Bad Omens persistently surged ahead, captivating their rapidly expanding fanbase with electrifying live shows at numerous sold-out tours and festival performances worldwide. The band is already set for an intense touring schedule in 2024, recently concluding UK dates with Bring Me The Horizon and their CONCRETE FOREVER European headline run with opener Poppy, with more US performances and a lineup of festivals throughout the 2024 season.

Hear BAD OMENS team with HEALTH on heavy new song "THE DRAIN"

It's officially time to start exploring Bad Omens ' CONCRETE JUNGLE, with the band having just delivered a fresh pair of previews from their forthcoming collection of new songs, remixes, live tracks and more.

As promised yesterday , the first of the two cuts to premiere today (April 17th) is "THE DRAIN," a collaborative song that finds Bad Omens working alongside SWARM and industrial experimentalists HEALTH .

Fittingly enough, the track is fueled by four-on-the-floor pounding, black-ink synth undulations, and some dark and moody musings on loss ("Everything I love has gone away"). Stream it above via its official visualizer video.

The other CONCRETE JUNGLE preview is a remade-and-remodeled version of the title track to Bad Omens' 2022 album, The Death of Peace of Mind , which now features extra vocals from New York composer/sound designer So Wylie .

The remix takes the darkly anthemic original in a few different directions via chipmunk-pitchshifted vocal treatments, cavernous snap beats and an ethereal squelchiness. You can check out Bad Omens' So Wylie Patch below.

As previously reported, CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST] is due out May 31st via Sumerian. It also features the previously delivered "V.A.N." single with Poppy, along with remixes from We Are Fury, live cuts captured earlier this year, and more.

Both tracks preview next month's arrival of the band's highly-anticipated Concrete Jungle [The OST] - a companion release to Bad Omens' critically-acclaimed, The Death of Peace of Mind.

Rock phenomenon Bad Omens continue to fuel their meteoric rise en route to the May 31st arrival of their compilation release, Concrete Jungle [The OST] , via Sumerian Records.

Purposed as a companion release, the project is an extension of the band's hailed 2022  The Death of Peace of Mind  LP and will function as the soundtrack for Bad Omens'  Concrete Jungle  comic book series. Introducing the experimental endeaver earlier this year, Bad Omens dropped their collaboration with non-conformist Poppy with the track "V.A.N." - a colossal track that has since tallied more than 10 million streams thus far.

Back with another preview of the eagerly-awaited release, Bad Omens have doubled down with a pair of new tracks boasting a versatile ensemble of collaborators with undeniable contributions. Teaming with Los Angeles-bred noise specialists HEALTH and industrial-leaning, cinematic EDM producer SWARM the three entities converge on a track that is equal parts unrestrained and stylistically bleak.

Underscoring the unconventional approach that has become core to Bad Omens, the band have also dropped their collaboration with producer So Wylie - a talent the band discovered online. Entrusting the young talent to take on one of their most definitive tracks, the remix for "The Death of Peace of Mind" presents a hypnotic take on the original - offering a whole new take on Bad Omens and emphasizing the band's musical  malleability.

Paired with the arrival of Concrete Jungle [The OST], Bad Omens will continue their dominant run on the road. Recently concluding international dates with the likes of Poppy and Bring Me the Horizon, Bad Omens will set out on a busy 2024 with confirmed dates for major festivals both domestic and international. Bad Omens will also top a handful of headlining dates with Invent Animate and I See Stars starting next week. See the latest list of confirmed dates and cities below.
