THINGS TO DO

Places to visit, philippines tour packages from india.

The Philippines is an archipelago in South-East Asia. Here Unesco World Heritage Sites lie close to decadent casinos and the populous mega city of Manila is just as popular as the spotless beaches of Boracay. Perhaps this is why the Philippines is one of the most striking and unforgettable countries in the world that one can visit.

The name of the country brings to mind its pristine tropical island beaches that are second to none. Constantly ranked among the best in the world, the soft sands of White Beach on Boracay Island is where most visitors like to spend a big part of their time in the Philippines.

The untouched shore of White Beach gently merges into the calm, warm turquoise water and with the fence of tall, swaying palm trees on the side, the beach is indeed postcard perfect. There are luxurious resorts in the area, and there are things to do and enjoy for everyone. Thrill seekers are spoilt for choice at Boracay, with premier water activities like kite surfing, jet skiing, and fly fishing.

A favourite activity here is parasailing, and the bird’s-eye view that parasailing offers of the island and the ocean is beyond stunning. For those who want to spend relaxing, laid back hours, Boracay, with its unparalleled views of the sunrise and the sunset and every stage in between, is simply heavenly.

El Nido, a district in the Palawan area of the country, is a striking island, with views of bright blue-green waters, veiled lagoons, gigantic natural limestone structures and miles and miles of soft sand. Island hopping is one of the best things to do in El Nido, and the hopping tours to the surrounding places are divided into 4 groups, namely Tour A, Tour B, Tour C and Tour D.

Tour A is the quintessential tour, covering the heavenly Big Lagoon, which is known for its emerald waters and limestone ridges, Secret Lagoon, a hidden pool inside a limestone cliff and Shimizu Island, a place known for snorkelling and scuba diving.

Another way to discover El Nido is to hike up the Taraw Cliff. The guided hike traverses up a limestone cliff and the top offers a breathtaking 360 degree view of the entire town and the surrounding islands. The short, half an hour hike sounds misleadingly easy, but the humidity and sharp rocks make the climb challenging. However, the fruits of effort are sweet, and the Taraw cliff hike surely proves it.

One cannot talk about treks in the Philippines without mentioning the Mount Daraitan trek, located in the Rizal province of Luzon. Suited for moderate to experienced trekkers, the route can be traversed within a day. The path uphill is extremely scenic, with verdant trees lining the roads and concealing diverse wildlife.

Old caves that are great for spelunking also dot the route, and trekkers are welcome to make stops at them. The view of the Sierra Madre range from the viewpoint at the top is overwhelmingly magnificent.

Vigan, also located on the Luzon Island, takes one back in time to when the Philippines was a Spanish colony. Horse drawn carriages called Kalesa are the transport of choice in the famous cobbled street of Calle Crisologo, where tourists can pick up souvenirs. Blossoming balconies overlook the streets of the town and with the pretty fountains scattered throughout, Vigan is truly charming.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Vigan is considered to be the best planned and preserved Spanish town in Asia. The baroque styled Saint Paul Metropolitan Cathedral is another landmark of the town.

The island nation packs a range of experiences for tourists, and the diversity of activities offered ensures that every interest and taste is catered to.

Local Cuisine

Most trips to the Philippines packages start with a day or two spent on sightseeing tours of the teeming mega city, discovering Filipino culture, history and gastronomy. The old part of the city is largely found in a section called Intramuros, and it is here that visitors can learn about the history of the country. Fort Santiago, for example, is as old as the city itself, and has beautiful gardens and ancient structures. A museum commemorating Jose Rizal, a national hero, stands within the complex. Manila is also a great place to try out local dishes. Korean and Japanese restaurants are popular in the city too, and are well loved by tourists and locals alike.

The island of Cebu is a tropical delight, with azure waters and shores of palm lined white sands. However, it is best known for the activities it offers- Cebu has world class diving and snorkeling, and spotting thresher sharks, hammerhead sharks, sea turtles and whale sharks is not rare here. Cebu is also known for its treks, and its hills are the home for a diverse range of wildlife. The star of wildlife treks is the reclusive Tarsier, a nocturnal primate, and they can be spotted clinging to trees with their bulbous eyes shining brightly. Cebu also has mesmerizing waterfalls, and Kawasan Falls is the most popular. The plunge pool formed here is bright blue, and is known for activities like waterfall jumping, canyoning and rappelling.

Coron, in the Palawan area of the Philippines, is best known for its spectacular dives around World War II wrecks. Much like El Nido, the island has limestone karsts and spotless sandy beaches overlooking blue green water, but it is also less crowded. Coron’s many heavenly lagoons and incredibly vibrant and diverse coral reefs make it unforgettable.

TOP TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Bohol’s Chocolate Hills are the favourite of those interested in geology. The hills are shaped like Hershey’s kisses, and they turn brown in the summer as the vegetation dries out, giving them a chocolaty colour and, hence, the name. There are a lot of local legends surrounding the hills, and they are all interesting to know. Sagbayan Peak offers the best 360 degree view of the hills.

The underground river is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national landmark. Stunning cave formations and limestone karsts surround the river, and a number of endemic species including bats, swallows, fish and crabs call the river and the caves their home. There are tours run to help tourists discover the portion of the river that is open to visitors.

The 2000 year old rice terraces of Batad are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The steps on which the paddy is grown was carved out almost entirely by hand ages ago, and till date the ancient irrigation system feeds the crop. The lush green fields are a sight for sore eyes and hikes across the terraces are a special favourite of landscape photographers.

The temperatures are generally pleasant, ranging from 25°C to 32°C (77°F to 90°F), making it comfortable for travelers to explore the country.

This season is ideal for those looking to visit popular beach destinations like Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu, as the crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches are at their best. Water sports enthusiasts, such as snorkelers and divers, will find this season particularly inviting, with excellent visibility underwater.

Shoulder Season: May to July (Hot and Humid with Occasional Rain) From May to July, the Philippines experiences the shoulder season. During this period, temperatures tend to rise, and the weather becomes hot and humid. Daytime temperatures can reach up to 35°C (95°F), and there is an increase in humidity levels. While the weather is generally sunny, occasional rain showers and thunderstorms can occur, especially in the afternoons and evenings.

Travelers visiting during the shoulder season should be prepared for higher humidity levels and the possibility of short rain showers. However, this time is still suitable for beach vacations and outdoor adventures. It's a great opportunity to explore the country's lush landscapes and experience local festivals and cultural events.

Off Season: August to October (Monsoon Season with Frequent Rainfall) The months of August to October mark the off-season in the Philippines, primarily due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat." This season is characterized by frequent rainfall, strong winds, and the occasional typhoon. While not ideal for beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts, it can be a unique experience for those interested in a different aspect of the Philippines.

During the off-season, the country's landscapes become lush and vibrant, and nature enthusiasts can enjoy the flourishing flora. However, it's essential to be aware of the potential for typhoons and heavy rainfall, which can lead to flooding and travel disruptions in certain areas. Travelers should check weather updates and advisories regularly and plan their itineraries accordingly.

About The Philippines

The history of the island country of the Philippines goes back at least 709,000 years ago. Evidence of a species of archaic humans was found in the country about 134,000 years ago, and they were known as Homo luzonensis. In the prehistoric Philippines, the first inhabitants were noted to be the Negrito groups, after which followed the Austroasiatics, Papuans, and South Asians.

The social and ethnic groups eventually grew into various settlements with different degrees of political organisation, social stratification, and economic specialisation. Spanish rule began in the archipelago in 1565, leading to the creation of the first unified political structure now known as the Philippines. It ended in 1898 with the Spanish–American War. The development of the independent Philippine Republic took place in 1946.

Essential Tips To Know Before Travelling To The Philippines

  • The Philippines is hot and humid, so remember to pack light and loose-fitting clothes so you don’t sweat throughout the day. Also, remember to pack hats, sunglasses, and water bottles in your luggage, and remember to stay hydrated while sightseeing. Consume plenty of water and seek shade occasionally to avoid dehydration. Also, keep some mosquito repellant with you to stay protected from mosquito bites.
  • Bring change wherever you go, especially when travelling to smaller provinces or islands. This will be particularly useful when shopping at the local sari-sari stores and hopping on public transport.
  • Although learning a few local words and phrases is always polite, it’s essential to know that almost everyone speaks English in the Philippines. This makes it infinitely easier to navigate the country, and the bilingual education provided in the schools proves useful to tourists looking to explore the island country.
  • Not all the toilets in the Philippines have toilet paper. Some have them displayed outside the stalls. Therefore, carry some in your bag before going into a public washroom.
  • Using local transportation systems is the easiest way to explore the Philippines as they are accessible and cheap.
  • The servers in the Philippines usually earn minimum wage. Therefore, it’s polite to tip your servers at restaurants, spas, salons, or anywhere else. 10-15% of your final bill should suffice.

Best Time To Visit The Philippines

While looking at our fabulous Philippines tour packages, you will probably wonder when the best time is to visit the country. The period between December and February is usually considered the ideal time to visit this archipelagic country. This is when the country witnesses its lowest rainfall, and the islands and remote areas are easily accessible.

The weather during this period is appropriate for both trekking and sightseeing. The Philippines’ weather can be divided into the cool-dry season, the hot-dry season, and the rainy season. Even within the dry season, there is a particular month to pick from based on your preference since December and January are slightly lower in temperature than March and April. Before booking one of our Philippines tour packages, peruse the information below to find out what each season brings to the island country of the Philippines.

Cool-Dry Season In The Philippines (November To February)

The temperature during the cool-dry season of the Philippines usually remains between 24 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius. This is when the sun appears after the rainy days, and the humidity level decreases. The northern region feels the coldest at this time, and January brings pleasant weather and cool temperatures. Although February sees a rise in temperature, the ambience remains pleasant.

If you wish to see the Philippines decorated in the glory of festivals, this is the time to visit. During the cool-dry season, an almost endless array of festivities are lined up. These include the Grand Cordillera Festival, Feast of San Clemente, Panagbega, Pamulinawen Festival, and Suman Festival. Since December to April is the peak season in the Philippines, grab our Philippines tour packages as early as possible so we can make the best travel arrangements for you.

Hot-Dry Season In The Philippines (March To May)

During the hot-dry season, the temperature in the Philippines usually stays between 25 degrees and 33 degrees Celsius. The weather gets warmer at this time, with the coastal regions bringing some relief from the heat owing to the pleasant sea breeze. April is hotter than March, giving way to sunny days and bluer skies.

The hot-dry season brings about many festivals and celebrations in the Philippines, such as the Moriones Festival, Boracay International Dragon Boat Festival, and Turumba Festival.

Rainy Season In The Philippines (June To October)

As the rainy season engulfs the Philippines, the temperature fluctuates between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius. Starting from the northern region of the country, the rains eventually make their way to the southern part, with September regarded as the wettest month of the year.

The rains ensure that the country blooms with lush greenery at this time, turning the Philippines into a lush wonderland for the travellers to awe at. The festivals to look forward to in the Philippines during the rainy season include Independence Day, Sandugo Festival, and Kadayawan Festival.

Top Things To Do In The Philippines

With our Philippines tour packages, you will never run out of activities to indulge in as you roam around the beautiful island of the Philippines. There is much to uncover during your vacation, be it family-friendly activities to enjoy with your spouse or kids or thrilling adventures that get your adrenaline pumping.

It is a delightful combination of a museum, candy store, and theme park, with dessert-themed installations and art pieces on display. This museum is the first of its kind in Asia.

Zoobic Safari

Zoobic Safari is a special petting zoo and animal observation area created in a tropical jungle. It’s the only tiger safari in the Philippines. Spread over 25 hectares, this safari allows visitors to see several animals up close, such as tigers, zebras, snakes, and monkeys.

Fort Santiago

Built in 1571, Miguel López de Legazpi, a Spanish navigator and governor, developed Fort Santiago. It’s a citadel that came into being for Manila, a new city established in the Philippines at the time. Regarded as one of the significant historical sites in the city, the fort was named after the patron saint of Spain, Saint James. The fort is now part of a historical park, including Plaza Moriones.

Celosia Flower Farm

Popularly known as the ‘Little Amsterdam’ in Cebu, the Celosia Flower Farm is where you can witness the celosia flowers bloom in all their glory.

Chocolate Hills

Situated in the Philippines’ Bohol province, the Chocolate Hills are made up of at least 1,260 hills, with about 1,776 hills present over an area that spans more than 50 square kilometres. These hills are named this way because the green grass that covers the mountain transforms into a chocolate-brown hue when the dry season arrives in the island country. It’s among the most popular tourist attractions in Bohol and is also the only UNESCO Global Geopark in the Philippines. On 18th June 1988, the country’s 3rd National Geological Monument was declared.

Things To Do For Adventure Lovers

Whether you are a newbie or an experienced hiker, the Philippines covers your hiking dreams. Benguet’s Mount Pulag, the third-highest peak in the country, is a beloved hiking destination that offers a spellbinding view of the clouds you will remember for decades.

Paragliding

Do you want to fly across mesmerising views in the Philippines? You can also do that with our Philippines tour packages through paragliding. Some of the best paragliding trips are in Cavite, Carmona, Cagayan de Oro, and Ilocos Sur.

Perhaps you wish to surf for the first time, or maybe your surfing-loving heart wants to get back into the water after quite a gap; regardless of the situation, the Philippines offers many opportunities for tourists to go surfing. The Siargao Island is among the best surfing locations in the country.

Have you ever jumped from a high point in the sky and made your way down to earth? This particular adventure sport can also be experienced in the Philippines. The Bantayan Island in Cebu is perfect for this purpose.

Whitewater rafting

While there are many spots in the country where you can try this, the best places in the Philippines to go whitewater rafting are Cagayan de Oro and Kalinga.

Shopping In The Philippines

Who doesn’t want to bring home cute souvenirs from their trip? With our Philippines tour packages, you can do precisely this as you explore the Philippines. Be it shopping malls or local stores, there is an abundance of spots to shop in the Philippines, satiating your cravings for modern and traditional items that you will cherish for decades.

Listed below are some of the items you must look into during your vacation and some of the best places to shop them from:

What To Buy

Filipino pearls.

Given that the Philippines is engulfed by the sea from all sides, it doesn’t surprise that golden and white pearls are some of the country’s most loved souvenirs to carry.

Extracted from the deep corners of the sea, Filipino pearls are among the best you will ever come across. You can choose from necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, and so much more, available in various sizes, shapes, and colours.

Dried Mangoes

You have probably had mangoes before, but have you tried dried ones? If you haven’t, you should try the ones available in the Philippines and pack plenty for yourself and your loved ones back home so they can taste this Filipino delicacy. Delicious and tangy, these irresistible snacks are delightfully chewy without being dry.

Wooden Handicrafts

The Philippines is gifted with skilled artisans who create a wide variety of wooden handicrafts, which are especially popular in the Province of Quezon, situated in the Calabarzon region.

You can find wooden handicrafts of various types in the country, such as boxes, lampshades, bowls, spoons, décor items, and little trinkets. There are also adorable wooden models of shoes, fish, coconut trees, and barrel man that you can grab to keep on display at your home.

Coffee Beans

Do you know that the Philippines is among the few countries producing the four main coffee varieties: Arabica, Excelsa, Robusta, and Liberica? Did learning that information just make your coffee-loving heart do a little happy dance? You’re in for a treat because you can pack fresh, high-quality coffee beans for yourself and your family.

These coffee beans have a sufficiently long shelf life and are not too heavy, making them convenient for packing in luggage.

You have probably seen pictures of the locals of the Philippines donning conical hats, which are known as salakot in the country. These hats protect your face, neck, and head from the sun and serve as unique souvenirs. Lightweight and affordable, they can be used to shield yourself from the heat when you’re out for a picnic or even while working outdoors.

Let us tell you about yet another souvenir that will help you get some relief from the hot and sultry weather the country usually witnesses: handheld fans, which are locally called abaniko or pamaypay.

Available in both foldable and non-foldable versions, simple fans are made from anahaw or buri leaves, and the exquisite kind is created using silk tassels. People often carry these fans to weddings and other social occasions, and they are also part of the country’s women’s traditional dress.

Ube Halaya (Purple Yam Jam)

Ube halaya, also known as purple yam jam in the Philippines, is exactly what it sounds like and delivers just what it promises: a burst of unique sweetness in your mouth. Ube refers to a purple yam that is first boiled and then mashed before being used in numerous sweet dishes in the Philippines.

When you bring this jam to your country, spread it generously over breads, muffins, pies, cakes, croissants, and other items you choose and consume to your heart’s content.

Fabrics And Textiles

The Philippines manufactures some original fabrics that are both natural and gorgeous and can be carried back home from your holiday.

Pina, for example, is a traditional Philippine fibre created using pineapple plant leaves. Batik material is also available in numerous colourful designs. You can buy these fabrics in the form of clothes, wallets, towels, and bags.

Where To Shop

  • Carbon Market (Cebu): For home décor, clothes, and fresh produce.
  • Robinsons Galleria Cebu: For their vast array of stores, boutiques, and restaurants.
  • Bohol Quality Mall (Bohol): This is for their boutiques, restaurants, and bookstores.
  • Greenhills Shopping Center (Manila): For clothes, video games, and furniture.

Things To Remember When Shopping In Vietnam

When you buy a souvenir from the Philippines, you get to contribute to their local economy and show your support to the local entrepreneurs and artisans. Several of the products you bring home are made by skilled workers who often come from small communities. Therefore, by purchasing from them, you get to promote the country’s cultural heritage and preserve their traditional craftsmanship, but you also help sustain the livelihoods of the local workers.

Shopping sustainably and responsibly isn’t just something we should do when shopping wherever we live. It’s a point to keep in mind even when we’re shopping on a holiday, and this applies when you shop for anything in the Philippines, as well as with our Philippines tour packages. When you purchase local souvenirs from the Philippines, you contribute to sustainable tourism. Make sure to pick products created from natural materials to preserve the environment and the country’s traditional practices.

The local souvenirs in the Philippines set themselves apart through their intricate craftsmanship and handwoven beauty. They give you a glimpse of the country’s rich heritage, which is why you should get these items for yourself and your loved ones who prefer collecting souvenirs from all over the world.

Foods To Try Out In The Philippines

If you’re travelling to the Philippines, you probably hope to find a mix of sweet, spicy, and savoury dishes. The good news is that the country will not disappoint you. Tagged as the next big thing to watch out for in the culinary world, Filipino cuisine displays various influences throughout its rich history.

The food in the Philippines is influenced by other Asian countries, such as China, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand, yet it maintains its distinct and unique elements. Our Philippines tour packages allow you to experience all their lip-smacking dishes as you explore the country. Let us explore the various combinations of flavours and traditional cooking techniques you can taste while you’re in the Philippines.

Lumpia is the Filipino version of spring rolls. It is often served as an appetiser for celebrations, gatherings, and sit-down family meals. Its outer coating resembles a thin paper-like crepe, and it is usually deep-fried until it transforms into a crispy and hot snack.

The inner contents of lumpia include carrots, onions, cabbage, pork, dried fruits, and other vegetables. To add a touch of sweetness, you can dip the rolls in banana ketchup or a vinegar-based dipping sauce.

Adobo is often regarded as the national dish of the Philippines, and it’s among those integral parts of Filipino cuisine that you must try during your trip when you book our Philippines tour packages. It is a dish and a cooking method wherein the vegetables or meats (usually chicken or pork) are marinated in a brine of vinegar, salt, pepper, soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, and black peppercorn. The name of the dish has a Spanish origin. It comes from ‘adobar’, the meaning of which is to marinate.

For those genuinely looking to go wild with their culinary experience in the Philippines, balut is a dish you might want to check out. It’s undoubtedly not for the faint-hearted. The dish consists of a boiled egg containing a semi-developed duck embryo that is incubated for 14 to 21 days. After that, it is boiled and then eaten directly from the shell. Although it may not sound too appetising to everyone, it tastes better than its description.

To eat balut, you first need to crack open and peel the top of the eggshell. Once you sip out the liquids, you can add the seasonings of your choice and eat the contents directly from the shell.

Sinigang is yet another integral part of Filipino cuisine. It’s a stew or soup that distinguishes itself through its mix of savoury and sweet flavours. Like many other dishes in the Philippines, singing refers to both the dish and the cooking method.

The tamarind-based dish is filled with acidic fruits that enhance its taste, such as santol, kamias, batuan, and guava. This sour stew consists of either beef, fish, shrimp, or pork and numerous vegetables, including onions, tomatoes, green beans, okra, eggplant, water spinach, and white radish.

Halo-halo, literally translating into ‘mix mix’ in Tagalog, is one of the most internationally recognised Filipino desserts. The dish’s presentation and taste vary across the island country. It contains milk, legumes, gels, crushed ice, and sweetened fruits. Certain versions can also contain sweetened beans, coconut strips, kaong, leche flan, and macapuno or coconut sport.

An interesting bit about this dish is that it is often served in a tall parfait glass, so you can see the multiple colourful layers of deliciousness you’re about to consume.

Sisig is an appetiser usually served when people gather to drink alcohol, but it can also be served along with rice or other Filipino food. It’s a minced meat dish usually made using pork and chicken liver, but numerous other versions exist today that contain ingredients such as ostrich, eggs, squid, tuna, and mussels.

The dish originated in the Pampanga province, where a restaurant owner invented it. The first sisig was made from grilled pig’s face and ears, combined with liver paste, chopped onions, chilli peppers, and cooked liver.

Lechon translates to ‘roasted piglet’ and is a dish that appears at most celebrations and significant events in the Philippines. However, the dish isn’t made with a piglet but is instead created using a fully-grown pig, first seasoned lightly before being roasted whole.

Once the pig is stuffed with spices and herbs like garlic, onions, and lemongrass, it is roasted slowly over charcoal for hours until its outer appearance turns reddish brown. A fun fact to note is that when Anthony Bourdain, the internationally renowned American chef, tasted lechon, he exclaimed, “It’s the best pig ever!”

Chicharon, which originated in Spain, is a savoury snack or appetiser in the Philippines. Although it is commonly made using crispy fried pork belly, there are variations of the dish made using beef or chicken. It’s among those snacking dishes alongside beer and other beverages. The country’s restaurants often serve chicharon along with vinegar to add a bit of sourness to the concoction.

Pancit refers to traditional Filipino noodle dishes in various types, shapes, and sizes. Majorly influenced by Chinese culture, pancit dishes have become an important part of Filipino celebrations, including birthdays and holidays. Although the dish is quite filling, it is usually served alongside rice or other dishes, with both the soupy and dry versions being quite popular.

Art And Culture In The Philippines

Certain values are of extreme importance to the people of the Philippines, such as kindness, optimism, spirituality, and friendliness. Societal obligations and relationships often form the base of Filipino values, which firmly believe in group and societal acceptance. Children are taught to be respectful from a very young age, which also entails greeting everyone with titles of respect. Treating elders with respect is a part of the value system of Filipinos, such as accepting their blessings through the gesture of mano, which is when young people touch the back of an older person’s hand to their forehead.

Christianity is the majority faith in the Philippines, and 90% of the country’s population is Christian. Islam and other indigenous faiths are also present.

Customs and traditions

Cockfighting is a well-established and popular Sunday tradition throughout the Philippines. Another tradition that is quite commonly seen across the country is street parades. Every celebration has parades, populated with dance, music, designed floats, and delicious local cuisine.

Numerous elements form part of the arts and culture scene in the Philippines, including literature, painting, theatre, dance, and music. Folk music and dances remain a part of the country’s culture even today.

Top 5 airlines serving from India to the Philippines

Great to have actual hot tastey meal on a flight. Well done

All in all the flight was good. Love the fact that for airline food it was piping hot

I requested an aisle seat and got a middle seat The flight gate was changed and the flight was delayed

Cabin Crew always friendly and helpful. Seating cramped - foul smelling from toilets, high risk of disease. Guard personal property such as expensive sunglasses Coffee always awful and cold Meal trays toddler sized Not worth the extra cost to fly SQ - use a budget airline, same if not better experience

It seems paying premium economy does not make difference with economy. No priority boarding, not worthy paying extra$$$ for premium economy.

Wonderful service, planes and interior in great condition, very pleasant experience

Every thing was fine. Some ild classical Hindi movies should be add

The premium economy seats were not that great. It could have been more premium than economy seats.

A pc of cake or biscuit at least. The airport was like a maze need to take another bus to the main terminal to immigration.

Perfect experience from boarding through to leaving the flight, comfortable and personalised service from all staff, highly recommended

Very comfortable Prem economy seats for a long haul flight. Had a problem with the tv that the crew fixed so was great!

Cathay Pacific seems to be an airline in trouble and on its way out. Lots of broken or poorly functioning things like entertainment screens, seats, and enough well trained staff to handle a full flight. Sad...

The boarding experience was as expected and went well. The plane's economy seating plan is not designed for a positive customer experience but rather for company profit. When the passenger in front of me reclined, the distance from the screen to my face was the span of my hand (thumb tip to pinky fingertip). There is no such thing as personal space in this setting. This results in the domino effect, for when I recline the person in back of me reclines and so it goes. This is not to say that reclining is the answer as the experience is not increased, but simply managed.

My seat was sold off to someone else. Had to wait 9 hours to catch the next filght. Definitely will never use Cathay Pacific again. Bad, very bad airline. will comment on google reviews too.

Seats were very comfortable. Crew were excellent. Food very good.

One of the worst flight in business class by qatar airways and I’m no stranger with qatar airways businesses class, I travelled with the extensively in the past 12 years

The aircraft was slightly newer but the food was very bad. Bland and uninteresting. Nothing special at all.

I felt thirsty and asked the flight attendent for water, but no one came for more than half an hour.

Everything went smooth. All flights were on time No changing gates, . No changing flights . It was like a completely different airlines tha n the last time I used Cathay Pacific . The last flight, 2 months ago, I had before this one was from Philippines also . I got changed in Manila and was told it only added 2 hours onto my flight . My 20 hour return trip ended up being 30 hours return with a 10.0 hour layover in New York with no seats anywhere . Everyone was sleeping or sitting on the floor . Unlike the hotel I was given in Manila to wait for this flight home . I never thought I would use Cathay Pacific again . But I did and this time you were great! I should have complained about the flight and layover from Hell a couple months ago. Consider that I am complaining about that august/23 flight now . Thank you got the great flying experience on my way home from philippines .

Halal food options could have been better the first meal portion sizes were very small the second breakfast meal the fish and couscous was very dry and disappointing I enjoyed the Hong Kong t lot I enjoyed the midnight stuck a lot the Hong Kong tea we had for breakfast was very good

Service / food has to be much better. Staff were not very attentive to requests. Requested for a second serve of coke and got a weird look back from the host! Was also told they don’t have extra water bottles when I requested for one before sleep! Dinner time food was very minimum and average.

An overnight Doha to KL. Great sleep, good service and tasty food in business class

chaos boarding. Crew in business class seemed short staffed and lacking in attention to details initially, but did improve during flight.

The cabin was quite noisy as there were lots of children travelling for the school holidays. Found the selection of movies limited.

Delayed, not enough information. Had to ask for refreshments, crew could have been more proactive

The best so far coz this time it was all male steward on the economy cluster. They were polite, efficient & genuinely courteous. They do not judge you when you ask for more food & peanuts.

Delayed for 45 minutes. Don't know what's the issue. Other than that, food was not to my satisfaction. However it's okay.

My first course flight (Aor-Kul) was cancelled in the morning, and they asked me to board the night flight hence I need to transit overnight for the 2nd flight (Kul-Myy) that supposed to be on the same day. The overnight stay was not provided, (I'm traveling with my spouse, a daughter (5 y.o.) and an infant (2 months old). Hence I booked Sama Sama Hotel at my own expense (fortunately using my enrich miles points). Other than this issue, all services is good.

My experience with the flight was okay. My experience checking in was absolutely terrible. I was told I needed to change my e-ticket number to check in because I missed my flight in PDX. Even when shown the itinerary, they didn't budge and sent me to KLM across the airport. KLM wasn't open until 8pm and my flight was at 7:30pm. Nobody made accommodations in any way to get me to KUL. To add insult to injury, they rescheduled my flight to the very next day, creating a very long layover and did not offer any hotel stay. After this, even worse, I found out later they delayed the first 7:30pm flight to 9:10pm. Meaning, I could have still boarded but they refused to even try to get me on the plane. As a result, I missed a day of work and lost pay for the day. Also, when I went to get my luggage, it wasn't there. It was STILL in Singapore. They had from 5:30pm to 5am to get my luggage onto the plane and they still couldn't get that right. This is the worst experience I've had flying anywhere in the past decade I've been travelling.

Orange juice change to mineral water . Should keep the orange juice.

The flight delay... but bus from the airport be on time

Bad experience, delay like no tomorrow. Original schedule departure time at 9:30pm, delayed until 12:05am only depart.

Great. Very satisfied with a direct flight from Penang back to HK international. Stewards in the cabin were very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to fly with Air Asia in the future.

Second time flying on AirAsia. They’re fine for a low cost carrier, so I don’t expect high level hospitality. They could have informed us that the flight would be delayed even if by a few minutes, instead of the passengers asking the gate agents why we’re not boarding 8 minutes before takeoff. And given some of the passengers on this particular flight were problematic, the crew did great handling such people.

Meh, it was AirAsia. It's not about a quality.

Great flight. Achieve my objecttive of travelling with less hassle .

They didn't have a single blanket for hire for a long haul overnight flight. This wasn't good enough even for a budget airline

Kayak shares with you the best price! and in my case it was Air Asia flight. Air Asia flight was on time, the boarding was seamless with FACES technology at KLIA2 and the pilot made a great smooth landing upon arrival. Excellent trip!

I left the city late and fortunately the flight was also delayed 50mins

Air Asia’s standard has dropped tremendously post pandemic. The whole organisation feels ‘soul-less’

WiFi didn’t work on both sectors so made killing time harder - planes clean modern and good flight crew - would do again if WiFi works

6hrs fly they dont give you a glass of water from seoul to singapore need to buy drink and food plus they charge for bag on international fly is always Free 1 bag from seoul to singapore is Not a local fly you are traveling true asia same story from singapore to Bali no water drink after payment for bag drink cost more the regular airline Well never use this company again we use regular company like Delta korea japan China and even scoot parent company Singapore Air

We had 2 attempts to land at Singapore Changing during a thunderstorm. Everything was delayed by 1 hour plus.

Boarding was not accordingly after front seat, bmf then back seat. This delayed for at least 40mins or more. The staff at Jakarta can do better. Is chaos at the entry to board the plane. This tarnished Scoot reputation when everyone was talking about it.

The crew was not customer oriented at all, even confrontational . The aircraft needs more attention to detail as far as comfort, and the 1 hour sitting at the gate with no air is inexcusable

We flew on the 787 Dreamliner direct to main gate at KLIA2, quick entry via eGate and on the train 41mins after touchdown. Go well SCOOT

Was on scoot plus. The only good thing about the flight was the spacious seats. Tables and armrests were extremely dirty Food: bad Entertainment: non existent Wifi: unable to connect, then was painfully slow that we couldn’t even send messages Good thing we had a night flight, so we just slept throughout.

Not clear why boarding passes could only be issued at the counter and not through the kiosk. I had already check-in on the web, so waiting to obtain a boarding pass 1.5 hours before the actual flight defeats the purpose of early web check-in.

no charging point. food offering is limited and very much on the budget line. Overall is not satisfying for such a price and duration of flight.

We were delayed, but there was never any update given. Everyone was standing at the gate as boarding was supposed to commence at 13:10 for a 13:55 flight. We didn't actually start getting on the shuttles to the plane, until after 14:00. No updates, no information given at all.

An amazing 10 day tour hosted by Gema. She showed us so so much, and knows everything & everyone in each of the towns we stopped at. Really fun to be around, if you are lucky enough to be on a tour with Gema as your guide, you know it will be an amazing trip!

Wanderlands Philippines - 12 Days Tour

Wanderlands Philippines - 12 Days

The tour with Dian was absolutely incredible! One of the best holidays I’ve ever been on (maybe the best). It was so easy and exciting, Dian made sure we got where we needed to be with ease, even when plans changed or things didn’t go as expected. She recommended things to do in our spare time and organised the activities for us with the best guides - it was perfect. The itinerary was brilliant, I particularly loved the island hopping in Port Barton, Canyoning in Cebu and snorkelling in Port Barton with the sardine run. For improvements I would recommend shorter beach days when it’s 40 degrees, we spent 6 hours at the beach on our second last day but it was really hot being outside for so long. My other suggestion is communicating a bit better regarding when we will be eating that day. A few times there was miscommunication about when we will be eating and so we missed lunch and then were pretty hungry by the afternoon. Besides that, I loved it and cannot fault it. Thank you for the memories and incredible holiday!

Philippines One Life Adventures - 14 Days Tour

Philippines One Life Adventures - 14 Days

The tour was absolutely fantastic! Lini was a great guide and made sure that I was having the best time. She was knowledgeable and, through this, she showed she had a passion for the Philippines. She made great recommendations for local restaurants and bars. The local guides that assisted Lini were all fun and very informative, adding that extra level of cultural knowledge. The activities were brilliant! The prison visit, island hopping days, cultural day, private island stays, and included massage all exceeded expectations and I honestly had the best time. The optional activities were also fantastic, the scuba diving in Coron was outstanding and totally recommended. The accommodation was good throughout with large, clean and functional rooms. Many of the meals were included which is always an added bonus. The transport between the locations was in a clean bus but it was a rather full as we had 22 people on the tour. The included transfer to the airport on the last day of the tour was also very useful and arranged by Lini so it was stress-free and seamless.

The items on the daily programmes (brochure) did not always match reality (shortened or skipped). That should be monitored or revised by operator. Other than that a good tour.

10 Days Philippine Tour Tour

10 Days Philippine Tour

As many others have stated in their reviews, this isn't your normal tour as such. We booked through Tour Radar however our "tour" was co-ordinated by CTPH Tours in The Philippines. My wife and I were visiting for our 35th wedding anniversary and wanted to make this a memorable holiday experience as we had never been to The Philippines before. Overall we had an amazing time and the experience was better than expected. Initially, prior to travelling the communication was poor with long periods waiting for responses. Once we were provided with the WhatsApp contact number for Marice from CTPH however things improved. Marice was excellent with her communication, updating us every day or night about pick up times for the next days tours/ transfers etc. Every tour, transfer, pick up time was pefect as advised by Marice, even arriving early on some occasions. The Hotels were clean and tidy with good service. Our highlights were definitely El Nido, island hopping, kayaking in The Big Lagoon and the secret lagoon. The day before the island hopping tour we did the Via Ferrata Canopy walk with a local guide and highly recommend this, wow what a great experience! The views from the top are amazing and the experience itself is well worth the effort. Swimming with the Whale Sharks in Oslob was a great experience too however the overall highlight for me was the Canyoneering experience. From Ziplining into the canyon to the many jumps, slides, gorges....an absolutely fantastic experience. Although this was a long day, pick up from hotel at 4am and return at 7pm it was totally worthwhile. Borocay was relaxing with stunning white beaches, bars, cafes and restaurants along the beach with live bands playing each night. A stunning location and great to unwind and enjoy. We also enjoyed island hopping in Boracay and Helmut diving although this is only for 15 minutes. The underground river tour in Puerto Princessa was great although be prepared for a long day waiting for boats. We waited several hours and this took away from the experience. Puerta Princessa itself didn't have much to offer and was the most disappointing part of our trip. Our Hotel Bambu suites was in the middle of nowhere with no restaurants or attractions close by. Overall we had 6 flights on our holiday, it was go, go, go but that's how we like to travel. Great value for money when you consider the flights, tours, transfers and accommodation. I stated earlier this isn't really a tour as such, my wife and I were the only ones on our " tour" but we had a great time. Thanks again Marice for your excellent service.

Sagada & Banaue Rice Terraces 4-Day Tour Tour

Sagada & Banaue Rice Terraces 4-Day Tour

When I found information about this tour to Sagada and Banaue online, it already had such high reviews, but after experiencing the tour for myself, I would rate it even higher! This trip, guided by the wonderful Zohan, is extremely unique in large part due to the personal touches, stories, and intentional cultural experiences Zohan added to the itinerary. Though the tour is listed for all ages, I would specifically recommend for those ages 18-50 or so. There is quite a bit of hiking, walking, an overnight bus both ways, and lots of carrying of luggage. To participate in this trip, one must be eager to learn, open-minded to experience other cultures, and physically fit.

Amazing tour with an amazing tour guide, Cece. Such nice places we went to and had a lovely time with the group? Everything went smoothly and was very well informed at all times. Would definitely recommend for people who want to experience the islands and culture of the Philippines.
AJ our tour guide was amazing
I had an incredible time in the Philippines thanks to Wanderlands travel and Dian. The organisation, destinations and activities were excellent. Dian was able to answer all questions, organised transfers and ensured we were taken care of throughout the tour - big thanks to Dian for this.

Things to do on your Philippines Tour Package

The country has an island to suit every taste. With Philippines travel packages that we offer at Pickyourtrail, make your long-lived island-hop on and hop off dream come true and check off that long pending item from your bucket list. Here are some island's you can't resist on your Philippines package.

Palawan Island - An island packed with exotic wildlife, old fashioned fishing villages, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Palawan is a slice of heaven. Take a guided boat tour on your Philippines tour through the island's wildlife, jungle mountains, and beautiful beaches and get blown away by its beauty on your Palawan tour package.

Boracay Island - Spend an entire day cliff diving and indulging in watersports at Aerial Point and conquer your fear of heights, relax and rejuvenate in the powder-soft sand & crystal blue waters of White beach, go for parasailing & ziplining, & turn strangers into friends going on a Boracay Pub crawl on your Philippines packages.

Cebu - It is one of the Philippines's most developed islands and offers some of the best natural attractions, one of which is the Kawasan Falls. After a canyoneering tour through the Filipino jungle, reach the main waterfalls and enjoy a good swim in its turquoise waters on your Cebu tour package. Also enjoy a hike for a breath-taking view of the sunrise at the mountain range, Osmena Peak and click those million-dollar selfies for your Instagram account.

Bohol - It is 10th largest Filipino island comprising of pristine white sand beaches, lush green forests, and unbelievable underwater life. Although in comparison with other islands Bohol lags behind; its closeness to nature gives it a unique charm. Witness Chocolate hills, that arrived its name from highly unnatural looking dome-shaped mounds covered with grass that dry up in summer and become brown giving it the name it bores on your Bohol tour package.

Places to visit on your trip to Philippines

Tubbataha Reef diving dares, Mayon Volcano’s magnificent beauty, Bohol’s unique Chocolate Hills are some of what the Philippines has to offer. Philippines tour packages should include some wonderful vacation spots and here is a traveller’s guide to skim through for easy Philippines packages planning.

Tier upon tier of tremendous Rice Terraces: Possibly the best place to lay eyes on a trip to Philippines, the Banaue Rice Terraces are dubbed a magnum opus in the Philippine province of Ifugao and they stand tall in their splendour true to the title. Place bets against tearing your eyes from this mammoth of a tremendous landmark, which is an incredible feat to have accomplished by hand-constructing steps to a raging 5000 feet into heaven on sides of the mountains on your Philippines tour packages.

Revel in the wonderful spread of Banaue’s rice paddies along with sweeping fields at Batad, Kiangan, and Hungduan. The road up to the Banaue Rice terraces is streaked with viewpoints which also has a few indigenous Ifugao and Bontoc women donned in traditional wear who are ready for some selfies with admirers of the location.

A little hidden gem in the locality is the 200-feet Tappiya Falls cascading down the gorge and into the must-see category.

Breathe out worries at the Batanes Islands: Such attractive cultures backed with breathtaking landscapes, the Sabtang, Batan and Itbayat inhibited islands slip right into any Philippines travel package.

Skip to the striking beaches of the land to lounge and bask in the sun. Atypical from other Philippine white beaches, the boulders carpeted Chadpidan Beach may not be the ideal spot for a sunbathing but it’s overlooking the west making it the best spot to catch a famously spectacular Batan sunset on your Philippines tour packages, whereas the similar Valugan Beach is the east-facing cousin bathed in stunning sunrises. Sabtang Island is home to a seaside wonder of picturesque foliage-covered limestone arch catching sunsets and hearts across the warm sandy Nakabuang or Morang Beach.

Rolling green hills of the Batanes Islands look right out of the ‘Sound of Music’ movie highlighted best in the Vayang Rolling Hills, the Naidi Hills and the Mahatao Hills, all located in Baten Islands making it a serene paradise that raptures travellers to rest and rejuvenate the wanderlust.

Pleasing Palawan province: Busy and popular is the destination celebrating tourism in Palawan, it is the El Nido municipality, easily the best place for a laidback Philippines tour. Already popular for off-shore islands covered with limestone cliffs overseeing hidden lagoons, the sea-nery is remarkable and is celebrated as one of the most picturesque water views in the world.

Ferry yourself to the peaceful Coron, just as charming as El Nido but strewn with even more terrific underwater views. I would recommend choosing Coron for its other-worldly shipwreck diving, seabeds draped with corals paving way for the perfect snorkelling event to flip your Philippines packages into an extraordinary one. The best spot to snorkel is at the Twin Lagoon, famous for the mix of fresh and salt waters, is worth squeezing through crevices from one lagoon to another and ending in an enticing deep dive snorkelling.

Puerto Princesa Underground River winds down a span of five-miles through caves of limestone karst, best traversed by cruising in guided navigation, sprinkled with fascinating facts about the National Park, and is a popular shoo-in into any Philippines tour packages. Classed as one of the New7Wonders of Nature is this incredible, naturally formed UNESCO world heritage site.

Tropical palm trees? Check. White sand beaches? Check. Crystal clear turquoise waters? Check. Boracay Islands is an ideal paradisiacal island strewn with beaches that are so arresting in their beauty that a trip to the Philippines would be incomplete without a visit to Boracay. White Beach is arguably the most beautiful and frequented but Diniwid Beach, Ilig-Iligan Beach or the Puka Shell Beach cannot be missed on your Philippines tour packages. Boracay’s nightlife isn’t what it used to be due to the negative impact of tourism but the indoor parties still rage on in full effect.

As the saying goes, take only photos and leave only footprints to protect these incredible landmarks and attractions of pretty Philippines. This archipelago’s admirable beauty can be explored to the full extent with Pickyourtrail’s optimisable Philippines travel packages. Say goodbye to worries and say hello to fantastic Filipino venture.

Best time to visit Philippines

Philippines is best to visit during the dry season. The best time to go ahead with Philippines tour packages is between November - April when the temperatures are cooler and all the islands and the remote areas are fully accessible.

Top 5 airlines flying to the Philippines

My case was missing a wheel on arrival Heathrow and the staff were unhelpful when i tried to get some compensation stating it was not sufficient damage, i only wish that they at some point have to deal with the same situation it put me in, maybe they would change their attitude but overall it was a good flight

We are satisfied with the cabin crew serviceand the quality of meals served.

Lunch Food was tasteful and had variety. Seat was comfortable. However, when I was reserving my seats during booking, the seat configuration showed was 3-3-3, but when I boarded it was a 2-4-2 configuration? Also during booking, I had also bought travel insurance together with my TG booking. However there was no confirmation of my purchase from Allianz and TG. After several emails with TG contact, sales, reservation and Allianz was i able to confirm my insurance purchase. When the policy was issued, the birth dates of me and my wife were wrongly stated and I had to go through another round of emails with Allianz to get it corrected. Otherwise any claims would be void! It was indeed not a very good booking experience!

Increase the number of available films, including variety. All other aspects were great.

I couldnt go on this flight and lost all my money over 1,000 UK Pounds as my visa to Myanmar was not accepted :(

Thai Airways is one of the best airlines in the business. Looking forward to fly again with them.

food poor i said chiken i got pack a pow breakfast lousey .job to explain wot it was ...

After going back and forth with the airline, they never reimbursed the airline tickets. Went around asking multiple people how to get reimbursed and kept getting put back, not satisfied with their customer service.

No working jet bridge to deplane, with priority customers deplaning last. Followed by bus to terminal.

Efficient like all the other flights with them. An outstanding budget airline!

Foreign tourist arrivals in India will cross pre-pandemic level in 2024

Recent tourism data indicates an annual growth of 305.4 per cent in foreign tourist arrivals (FTAs) in 2023. In 2023, 9.23 million foreign tourists visited India. Although the FTAs arrival number is still less than the pre-pandemic number of 10.93 million in 2019, experts believe in 2024 we might cross the FTAs arrival number of pre-pandemic days.

EU urges China to use influence on Russia and Iran

Ursula von der Leyen says EU counts on Xi Jinping to lean on Russia to end war in Ukraine, limit Iran’s missiles and drones.

The European Union hopes China will help persuade Russia to end its war in Ukraine and limit an Iranian weapons build-up.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen raised the scenario on Monday after talks in Paris with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which also included trade issues. The EU hopes Beijing will lean on its ally Russia and help stem Iran’s proliferation of missiles and drones, the head of the EU executive body said.

“We count on China to use all its influence on Russia to end Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine,” von der Leyen said after meeting with Xi alongside French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.

“President Xi has played an important role in de-escalating Russia’s irresponsible nuclear threats , and I am confident that President Xi will continue to do so against the backdrop of ongoing nuclear threats by Russia,” she said.

The meeting in Paris took place on the same day the Kremlin announced Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered nuclear drills. The exercises were in response to statements by Western countries about sending troops into Ukraine, Moscow added. Macron said last week that his country would consider sending ground troops  to Ukraine if Kyiv requests backup.

Von der Leyen added her hopes that China could “play an important role in limiting the irresponsible proliferation of Iranian ballistic missiles and drones”.

Von der Leyen and Macron also pressed China on the topic of trade. They pushed Xi to ensure more balanced relations with the world’s biggest trading bloc.

“The future of our continent will also very clearly depend on our capacity to further develop in a balanced way our relationship with China,” Macron said as the three leaders sat at a round table.

Xi was in Europe for the first time in five years at a time of growing business tensions that include the EU investigating Chinese industries such as electric vehicle while Beijing probes French-made brandy.

Von der Leyen was more blunt, saying the relationship was hurt by unequal market access and Chinese state subsidies.

After the meeting, she told reporters that the EU “cannot absorb massive overproduction of Chinese industrial goods flooding its market”.

“Europe will not waver from making tough decisions needed to protect its market,” she said.

In brief public comments before the talks, Xi said he viewed relations with Europe as a priority of China’s foreign policy and that both should stay committed to the partnership.

“As the world enters a new period of turbulence and change, as two important forces in this world, China and Europe should adhere to the positioning of partners, adhere to dialogue and cooperation,” Xi said.
