What you need to know

It is hard to believe, but a high percentage of those who win the lottery, never make it to The Wave.

The road to the Wire Pass Trailhead (Wave), House Rock Valley Road, is difficult in the best of times and dangerous in the worst of times. Very rocky, often deeply rutted, and totally impassable when wet, this road presents a unique set of challenges. High clearance 4x4 vehicles are highly recommended.

The rocky, sandy, uneven and fully exposed hiking trail also presents a challenge to many. The route is raw and unimproved. Please be prepared to hike approximately 7-8+ total miles exposed to all manner of elements - extreme heat in the summer and cold/icy in the winter.

Private Wave Tour*

The total package! You will be picked up from your Page, AZ area hotel/rental and provided a fully-guided tour all the way to The Wave. This option includes a custom media package and personalized GoPro movie of your experience!

Groups of 1-2 people

Groups of 3-4 people, groups of 5-6 people, shuttle service*.

If you have successfully won the lottery for The Wave, but do not feel comfortable driving the often-dangerous House Rock Valley Road, relax and take a Lake Powell Scenic Tours shuttle. Your group will be picked up from your Page, AZ hotel/rental and allowed the use of basic backpacks and walking sticks.

Private Shuttle Service

Up to 6 people per private group

*Requires that you have successfully won a permit for The Wave through the Bureau of Land Management's lottery system.

We'd love to hear from you!

The Wave Tour - hike the 6-8 miles of Coyote Buttes North and the Wave

  • Trip Details

Private Tour Upgrade Available?

Tour length, departure times, difficulty (1-10), recommended abilities, attractions, special interests, these faqs are specific to this tour. if you would like to view our general faqs click here ..

1. How difficult is the hike to the Wave? The round-trip hike is just over 6 miles (9.5 kilometers) if you take the most direct route to the Wave and back. Our tours typically cover about 8 miles so we can visit other spectacular sites. There are long stretches of deep sand to trudge through and an elevation gain of about 500 feet on the trek. There are a few steep inclines, loose footing, and often you will be hiking on uneven sandstone with one foot higher than the other while you hug the side of a steep sandstone ridge. Decent cardio fitness, leg strength, some amount of endurance and good balance are needed. Harsh weather is another factor to consider. This is a particularly windy spot that makes the winter chill even colder. Ice and snow make the uneven hike quite slippery. In the summer, the sun is relentless, heating the ground until the radiant heat rises from the earth while the sun shines from above. There is virtually no shade.

2. How do I get a Wave permit? In March of 2021 the BLM radically increased the number of permits issued to 64 permits for 64 people, or 16 groups, whichever comes first. 48 of those permits, or 12 groups, whichever comes first, are issued via an online lottery 3-4 months in advance.  Only 16 permits for 16 people, or permits for 4 groups, whichever comes first, are issued the day before at the walk-in lottery. All of the specifics of the permit process are explained HERE .

3. Can I book a Wave tour without a permit? Yes, you can book book a Wave tour with us even if you do not have a North Coyote Buttes permit. Our booking system will ask whether you have a permit; simply answer, “no.” We will enter the in-person lottery on your behalf the day before your trip to try to get you a permit. The odds of winning are less than 10%. If we don’t score a Wave permit, your tour will visit one of two alternates: South Coyote Buttes or White Pocket.  South Coyote Buttes also requires a permit though it tends to be much easier to get than the Wave, but if we aren’t able to secure a South Coyote Buttes permits, your trip will visit White Pocket. All three are world class hiking and photography destinations in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument.

4. I am staying in Page. Where can we meet? We offer pick-up service to any hotel, vacation rental or RV Park in Kanab, Utah, but we do not pick up in Page, Arizona. If you are staying in Page, we can arrange a meeting point halfway between Page and Kanab. Normally, this meeting point is at the intersection of Highway 89 and Houserock Valley Road, which is about 45 minutes west of Page, and is right on the way to the Wave.  If you book an 8 a.m. tour, that is the time the tour departs Kanab, Utah. We would leave at 8 a.m. and meet you at 8:45 a.m. at Houserock Valley Road. Keep in mind that Page is in Arizona, which does not observe daylight savings time. So, from spring through fall, the time in Arizona is one hour earlier than in Utah, where our company operates. So, if our tour left Kanab at 8 a.m. (Utah time) and met you at 8:45 a.m. (Utah time), this would be 7:45 a.m. Arizona time and you would need to leave Page by 7am.  Daylight savings time starts sometime in mid-March and usually runs to the middle of November.

5. Is there a bathroom at the Wave? There is a pit toilet at the trailhead to the Wave. Otherwise, there are no facilities in the wilderness area. While hiking to and from the Wave, you may duck behind a tree or bush for privacy whenever necessary. All solid waste should be packed out and our guides carry WAG bags for this purpose, as well as toilet paper, hand wipes and plastic bags. Do not leave any trash on the ground. This is a wilderness area and must be kept pristine. Paper must be bagged up and can be discreetly discarded into the trash bag at the truck.

6. Are drones allowed at North Coyote Buttes? No. North Coyote Buttes is a designated wilderness area and drones are illegal.

Guest Experiences on the Wave Tour

croderique – June 8, 2019 TripAdvisor We had a great guide, Rich. Not only did we see The Wave, but he showed several other areas we would not have even known to see. We strongly recommend using a guide service, and Dreamland is a good choice.

Seaside39985049827 – June 5, 2019 TripAdvisor We were a 4 people group (my friend and I and a couple). Steve was great at evaluating our speed and skills and adjusting accordingly. He took us through some “short cuts” were we were able to see dinosaur footprints, balanced well our time at the wave and other parts of the hike, was happy to add on wirepass into the hike, and did a good job of making sure we were all having fun and enjoying the adventure. He was fun, knowledgeable and very flexible. Great guide for a hike of a lifetime!

c0rintians – June 5, 2019 TripAdvisor We had an amazing time with Steve at the Wave. He was very knowledgeable and showed us areas of the Wave we didn’t even know about. We absolutely recommend Dreamland and Steve to anyone!

emilybeis – May 28, 2019 TripAdvisor Dreamland Safari Tours is simply excellent in all aspects. They entered the lottery for The Wave on our behalf, informed us promptly after we were lucky enough to win the lottery, and provided an unforgettable guided tour the next day. The Tour Leader, Steve, knows The Wave inside out. He was patient and courteous. He walked with us at our pace, allowing us ample time for enjoying the beauty of various scenic spots and taking photos. I would also like to mention that the sandwich provided for lunch was of very high quality. We enjoyed the tour so much.

Get the most of your Wave experience! If you are lucky enough to get your paws on a permit to hike the 6-8 miles of Coyote Buttes North and the Wave, consider The Wave Tour guided by Dreamland Safari Tours.

White Pocket Photo

Until a few decades ago only a handful of people knew about the Wave in North Coyote Buttes of the Paria Canyon Wilderness on the border of Utah and Arizona. Today there is a lottery to determine who gets in. Phenomenon is the word. Nothing else does it justice.

The undulating strata and spectrum of colors found in the sandstone walls of the Wave date back to the Great Pangean Desert of the Jurassic Period about 160-180 million years ago. Wind and water erosion carves, smooths, and reveals the layers of sand left here in great dunes and then compacted and mineralized (colors) into stone. While the Wave is a smooth, polished bowl of striped wind-swept sandstone, the same exotic rock is displayed in numerous forms, shapes, colors, and patterns throughout the guided hike to the Wave in North Coyote Buttes.

With the Wave Tour you get all of the following:

  • Comfortable, safe, year-round, high clearance, 4×4 transportation for up to 6 passengers on rough, unpredictable House Rock Valley Road
  • A homemade picnic lunch.
  • Knowledgeable tidbits about the geology, ecology, and history of the area. Guided Hiking through the easiest and most scenic routes to the neatest alternate and subtle Points of Interest including Dinosaur Tracks, Fatali’s boneyard (Lace Rocks), Sand Cove, Second Wave, Cheeseburger Rock, and other bizarre and colorful rock formations. These are areas the unguided rarely see. We do not typically go up to Top Rock or Top Arch due to time & difficulty of the ascent. We may make exceptions for very fit groups.
  • Guided photography and tips at dozens of locations.
  • Personal Safety – We help prepare you, keep you on track, and make sure you are safe in the Paria Canyon Wilderness. Our guides have basic Medical Training and satellite communications in case of emergency.

Elevation change, uneven footing, and sand across a long distance (typically 7-10 miles!) make the terrain on The Wave Tour difficult.  Please be prepared for hiking in difficult conditions. Daypacks are necessary especially in summer when our guide alone cannot carry enough water for everyone to safely complete the hike. Boots are highly recommended. Please carefully consider your age and physical abilities especially during the hottest months of the year: June, July, August. This tour is especially difficult in the heat.

SPECIAL PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE WAVE TOUR AT NORTH COYOTE BUTTES. DREAMLAND DOES NOT PROVIDE ADVANCE PERMITS OR HAVE AN UMBRELLA PERMIT.  ONLY OUR GUIDES ARE COVERED BY OUR PERMIT. WHEN OBTAINING PERMITS ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO ADD OUR GUIDES TO THE TOTAL NUMBER. UPON REQUEST, AND WITH AN ALTERNATE TOUR PLANNED, DREAMLAND MAY BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LAST MINUTE LOTTERY IN YOUR STEAD. PERMITS ARE NEVER GUARANTEED.

Wave Permits are not easy to get, but odds can vary at different times of year. To find out about everything you need to know about Wave permits and lottery strategy check out the Permits page. There are alternative tours available in case no permit is obtained – the most popular alternatives are White Pocket and South Coyote Buttes .

Howard Jones, ABC and Haircut 100 Team Up for New Wave Extravaganza North American Tour

Howard Jones

A new wave one-stop shop will tour North America this summer when Howard Jones and ABC will be hitting stages across North America with special guest Haircut 100. The full itinerary appears below.

“I’m very excited to be hitting the road with my friends ABC and Haircut 100,” Jones enthused. “Our audiences can look forward to some seriously top tunes night after night!  Bring your celebratory selves to the party.”

Popular on Variety

Of course, the evening will play out like an evening filled with hits from the early days of MTV, when the so-called “Second British Invasion” dominated the channel. Jones’ hits “New Song” and “What Is Love,” and “Things Can Only Get Better” probably segued into or out of ABC’s “Look of Love,” “Poison Arrow” and “Be Near Me” and Haircut 100’s “Love Plus One” and “Fantastic Day.”

All three acts have gone on to other successes, but this tour brings together the songs and sounds that first brought them to fame.

Cowboys Pick Tyler Guyton and His Family Had Incredible Draft Night Celebration

The former Oklahoma tackle's draft party went wild after he got the call from Dallas.

  • Author: Liam McKeone

In this story:

On Thursday night the Dallas Cowboys traded back from No. 24 to No. 29 in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft and selected Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton. It was good maneuvering from the 'Boys, who picked up an extra third-round pick while still getting the reinforcements they need at tackle following the offseason departure of longtime blindside protector Tyron Smith.

For his part, Guyton was extremely happy to hear his name called, as evidenced by video of him and his family receiving the call from the organization. In fact, his family may have even been more psyched. You might want to turn down the volume for this one.

“𝙒𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝘿𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙨!” Amazing moment. Congratulations @TylerGuyton14 ! @dallascowboys | #OUDNA pic.twitter.com/f93J8hFSnF — Oklahoma Football (@OU_Football) April 26, 2024

A longer, less high definition version for your viewing pleasure:

Tyler Guyton getting the call from the Dallas Cowboys 🥹 #NFLDraft pic.twitter.com/YEoDpleRzx — G.O.A.T. Farm Sports (@GOATfarmmedia) April 26, 2024

As Jake Peralta famously said : Chills. Literal chills. What a beautiful explosion of joy. This is seriously what draft night is all about. It is fun to dissect each and every pick but watching a group of young men realize their lifelong dreams is truly special. Everyone reacts differently and this sort is the best to watch— one big family screaming incomprehensibly in celebration and happiness.

The green room is cool and everything but this is the good stuff. Nothing brings out true emotion like being in a comfortable environment surrounded by family and friends. The energy coursing through the room is palpable.

A wonderful couple of clips, and one that definitely hammers home how excited Guyton is to be a Cowboy.

When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other

Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. PGA Tour players learn how much loyalty is worth in new equity program

Players who stayed loyal to the PGA Tour amid lucrative recruitment by Saudi-funded LIV Golf are starting to find out how much that loyalty could be worth.

The PGA Tour on Wednesday began contacting the 193 players eligible for the $930 million from a “Player Equity Program” under the new PGA Tour Enterprises .

The bulk of that money — $750 million — went to 36 players based on their career performance, the last five years and how they fared in a recent program that measured their star power.

How much they received was not immediately known. Emails were going out Wednesday afternoon and Thursday informing players of what they would get. One person who saw a list of how the equity shares were doled out said the names had been redacted. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because many details of the program were not made public.

The Telegraph reported Tiger Woods was to receive $100 million in equity and Rory McIlroy could get $50 million, without saying how it came up with those numbers.

Commissioner Jay Monahan outlined the first-of-its-kind equity ownership program in a Feb. 7 memo to players, a week after Strategic Sports Group became a minority investor in the new commercial PGA Tour Enterprises.

The private equity group, a consortium of professional sports owners led by the Fenway Sports Group, made an initial investment of $1.5 billion that could be worth $3 billion. The tour is still negotiating with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia — the financial muscle behind the rival LIV Golf league — as an investor.

Any deal with PIF would most certainly increase the value of the equity shares.

Another person with knowledge of the Player Equity Program, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the dealings, said the equity money is not part of the SSG investment. That money was geared toward growth capital.

Golf.com received a series of informational videos on the Player Equity Program that was sent to players and reported only 50% of the equity would vest after four years, 25% more after six years and the rest of it after eight years.

It also reported how the 36 players from the top tier were judged on “career points,” such as how long they were full members, victories, how often they reached the Tour Championship and extra points for significant victories.

Jason Gore, the tour’s chief player officer, said in one of the videos, “It’s really about making sure that our players know the PGA Tour is the best place to compete and showing them how much the Tour appreciates them being loyal.”

Emails also were sent to 64 players who would share $75 million in aggregate equity based on the past three years, and $30 million to 57 players who are PGA Tour members. Also, $75 million in equity shares was set aside for 36 past players instrumental in building the tour.

The program has an additional $600 million in equity grants that are recurring for future PGA Tour players. Those would be awarded in amounts of $100 million annually started in 2025.

Players only get equity shares from one of the four tiers now, although everyone would be eligible for the recurring grants.

Even with equity ownership geared toward making the PGA Tour better, the concern was players questioning who got how much and whether they received their fair share.

LIV Golf lured away seven major champions dating to 2018 since it launched in 2022, all with guaranteed contracts and most of them believed to have topped $100 million.

McIlroy, playing this week in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, was asked how much would make players feel validated for their decision to stay with the PGA Tour.

“I think the one thing we’ve learned in golf over the last two years is there’s never enough,” McIlroy replied.

Nelly Korda, LPGA in prime position to lift women's golf. So far, they're whiffing.

As nelly korda continues to dominate, generating new interest in women's golf should be one of the easiest sales jobs the lpga will ever have..

jobs wave tours

Last Sunday, a peak audience of 1.9 million people tuned in to NBC and watched Nelly Korda record her fifth consecutive tournament victory at the Chevon Championship, the first major of the LPGA season.

It’s not a Caitlin Clark rating, but for a sport that has been plagued by poor television coverage, lack of breakthrough stars and questionable management, it was one of the better days women’s golf has seen in quite some time.

In theory, the LPGA should be in prime position to reap some of the benefits being generated by the recent surge of interest in women’s sports.

For one thing, their counterparts on the men’s tour have turned off scores of fans thanks to the interminable struggle between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf and the odious greed driving so much division and dissatisfaction.

After years of unfairly blaming the prominence of Asian players for struggling to connect with stateside audiences, the LPGA now has a 25-year-old American from a prominent sporting family dominating the sport.

And given that fewer than 100 days remain before the Olympics, where Korda will be defending her gold medal from Tokyo three years ago, this should be one of the easiest sales jobs women’s golf will ever have to generate real, enduring new interest in what has always been a very good and watchable product.

The door is open. There are no excuses. The time is now.

But is women’s golf truly ready for this moment? I’m not so sure.

Up until now, three things have been undeniably true about women’s golf and its struggle to break through outside of its small, niche fan base:

  • The LPGA has failed to craft a compelling narrative for why people should watch, outside the mere fact of its existence.
  • Some of its stars, including Korda prominently, haven’t gone above and beyond to promote the game and make themselves familiar to large audiences.
  • And television has struggled to give the product its due, both in terms of exposure and quality of broadcast.

The third point, in particular, was disappointing Sunday. While NBC should be given credit for putting the Chevron on its over-the-air network and not stuffing it on Peacock or the Golf Channel, it would have been jarring this weekend to flip between the LPGA and the concurrent PGA Tour event being shown on CBS.

While the latter featured sharp graphics, high-tech camera angles and shot-tracing gizmos that are now standard in men’s golf broadcasts, the NBC coverage looked like a penny-pinching, outdated endeavor – the bare minimum to get these women on TV.

At a time when we’re now used to a women’s basketball broadcast on ABC or ESPN looking and feeling the exact same as a men’s broadcast, it was actually jarring to turn on NBC and see something that was so technically inferior to what the same network does when it shows The Players or the U.S. Open.

And because NBC clearly didn’t devote as many camera crews as it would have for a men’s major championship, it couldn’t show much of what was happening in the groups ahead of Korda. As a result, the broadcast felt like it dragged along at a glacial pace because there just wasn’t much action in-between Korda’s shots.

While NBC may be happy with the rating and proud of giving women’s golf an opportunity to be shown on network TV, it should be embarrassed by the way it presented the product. The magnitude of Korda’s achievement and the moment for the LPGA were simply not done proper justice.

But this is more than a television issue.

Korda has been a potential gold mine for the LPGA ever since she won her first event at age 20 but has been known for being quite discerning about how much time she’s willing to spend doing the kind of extra promotional work that the sport badly needs.

Whether you attribute it to her preference for privacy or wanting to focus only on the birdies and bogies, the reality is that it’s hard for women’s golf to maximize this moment when its biggest star is not known to be particularly media-friendly or willing to promote something other than her golf swing.

It was interesting before the Chevron that Stacy Lewis, a two-time major winner, said point-blank that Korda had a responsibility to be more visible and more accessible in service of the LPGA.

“Every week, she needs to be in here (with the media) talking about it and talking about how good she’s playing, and I don't know what that’s going to be, what that looks like for her,” Lewis said. “I've been in her shoes, I’ve been No. 1 in the world, I’ve been the top American and you’re asked to do a lot of things.

"But give the media a couple hours every week. That’s what she’s going to have to start doing. But her playing great golf, that's what pushes us more forward than anything.”

It was notable that Korda, shortly after her victory Sunday, showed up for a brief chat on the "No Laying Up" podcast that is particularly popular with younger golf fans. That was a positive step. On the other hand, it wasn't so great that Korda pulled out of this week’s JM Eagle LA Championship, citing exhaustion from winning four events in five weeks.

While it’s hard to criticize an athlete for being cautious with their schedule and their body, it’s also true that Korda skipped the LPGA’s Asian swing in February and early March and won’t have another tournament to play until May 9. Barring an injury, there's an argument to be made that Korda should have at least tried to give it a go as the LPGA stops in the nation’s second-biggest media market.

The responsibility on star women’s athletes to both perform and promote can often seem unfair, and maybe it is. Does Scottie Scheffler get the same scrutiny for how many media and promotional commitments he takes on or which tournaments he skips?

That’s a legitimate conversation, but if the LPGA and its players aspire to capitalize on the wave of enthusiasm for women’s sports and Korda’s historic streak, they need to show more readiness than we’ve seen so far.

Korda needs to do better. The LPGA needs to do better. And television networks definitely need to do better.
