Our Discover events are drop-in, though we recommend arriving at the start time so you can head straight to university or business school booths and not miss any presentations, panels, and workshops.

Introducing QS Discover events

We are changing the name of our student recruitment fairs. From this month, you’ll begin to see the name QS Discover used in our event promotion. 

Every year, we generate more than 250,000 event registrations for the 250 student recruitment events which we operate across the globe.  

In more than 20 years of running student recruitment events, our event names have evolved in different ways in different regions. Previous names have included the QS MBA Tour and the QS World Grad School Tour.  

Following extensive consultation with prospective students, we’re introducing a new, global naming convention for our events.  

All QS student recruitment events will now be called QS Discover (our student recruitment fairs) or QS Connect (our pre-matched counselling conversations between eligible students and university representatives) events.  

We’ll continue to maintain the distinction between events focused on prospective master’s students and our specialist events focused on prospective MBA students, using QS Discover Master’s and QS Discover MBA.  

Why QS Discover?  

Claire Whittingham, Managing Director of Digital & Events, said: “T he word ‘Discover’ represents the buzz and energy that we see at every one of our student fairs. We’re incredibly proud to support prospective students in their journey to discover, apply and enrol at their best-fit university.  

“Researching where to study can be overwhelming. What we offer through our events is the opportunity for prospective students to find out more through direct connections with expert university advisors. These connections and conversations often represent the first steps in their higher education journey.  

“The introduction of QS Discover represents the latest innovation in our many years of evolving our student event programme. The move to QS Discover will ensure our event names are consistent worldwide, strengthening our brand recognition in market and attracting even more high-quality students.”  

  When will these changes be introduced?  

We’ll begin to introduce this new name across our student-facing websites and materials from now on.  

We will transition to the new name across all of our materials and systems over the course of 2023. Current partners won’t see any immediate changes in our Outreach booking system. The new name will begin to feature on invoices once we open bookings for Spring 2024 later this year – we’ll be sharing more details of this soon.  

  Why book a QS event?  

In the latest QS International Student Survey, the value which students gain from attending a fair is clear. In fact, more than one in three offer holders and those who have submitted an application cite university fairs as a useful source of information which influenced their decision on where to apply.

The QS Virtual MBA and Grad School Events Are Coming Back to Montreal

Learn more about top grad schools from the comfort of your home.

We believe in our futures - and these MBA /Grad School Events will be the stepping stone to new beginnings!  Obviously, this edition of the MBA and World Grad School events can’t be in the flesh, so the organizers have put together a socially distanced event that’s 100% online. 

There will be seperate events: one for prospective MBA students and the other for prospective grad students.  You definitely don't want to miss out!

Here are all of the specifics:

The QS Virtual MBA Fair and Connect MBA Event will take place on January 31 st , 2021 for Eastern Canada . Be sure to check out the website  here  so that you can register. 

According to the organizers, the QS Virtual MBA Events are a unique opportunity to meet online with MBA admissions representatives at top business schools to learn more about their programs and the application process. The events  will start out with pre-booked personal meetings from 12 to 2:30 pm ET. The personal meetings are a great opportunity to speak with admissions representatives in a small group setting. Just make sure to check you’re interested in them when you register and someone from the QS team will reach out closer to the event to match you with the schools that best suit your professional ambitions and goals.

The QS Virtual MBA Fair  is the perfect opportunity to meet with as few or as many business schools as you'd like at your own pace on a virtual platform . The fair will take place from 3 to 5:30 pm ET. Many top business schools from around the world will have representatives there to give you all the information you need.

By attending one or both of these Virtual MBA Events, not only will you be able to meet with top business schools , you’ll also get access to a pool of scholarships worth $5.8M USD, be able to participate in networking opportunities including both the virtual alumni panel and Q&A Happy Hour, info sessions and workshops and a virtual CV review after attending.

Grad School Event

You can register  here  for the QS Virtual Grad School Fair and Connect Masters Event. T he online events will be taking place on two separate days for Quebec. The QS Virtual Grad School Fair will take place on February 9 th , 2021 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. ET and the Connect Masters Event will take place on February 11 th , 2021 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. ET.

The QS Virtual Grad School Fair is the perfect opportunity to meet with as few or as many grad schools as you'd like at your own pace on a virtual platform . Many of the top grad schools from around the world will have representatives there to give you all the information you need.

And, the QS Connect Masters Event is a unique opportunity to meet online with admissions representatives from top graduate schools in pre-booked personal meetings to learn more about their programs and the application process . Just make sure to sign up for the event on February 11 th if you’re interested in personal meetings and someone from the QS team will reach out closer to the event to match you with the schools and programs that best suit your professional ambitions and goals.

HEC Montréal’s MBA continues to shine internationally, this time in the context of the 2021 World University Rankings by MBA Specialization, discerned by British organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

Regardless of offering a generalist business administration program, our School’s highly regarded reputation and strengths in research have come through in securing us rankings for disciplines in which our graduates have immersed themselves. HEC Montréal has also been classified in the top 100 for 6 disciplines, including 1 classification in the top 10.

• Operations Management: 9 th
• Marketing: 26 th  
• Information Management: 41 st
• Entrepreneurship: 51 st -100 th
• Technology Management: 51 st -100 th

 Unveiled in September of 2020 , these rankings are based on the Global MBA Rankings 2021 carried out by QS, and in which the School’s MBA classed 9 th in Canada and 141 st -150 th in the world. These results account for 25% of the analysis.

The balance of scoring for rankings is established in accordance with the following criteria, respectively for each management discipline evaluated by the QS (Consulting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Management, Operations Management, Technology and Marketing):

• Graduate placement rate – drawn directly from the Global MBA Rankings 2021
• Reputation of the institution vis-à-vis employers – based on QS Global Employer Survey responses of the past 5 years
• Influence of research (quotes by publication and Index H) – measured through the Scopus database

It’s important to acknowledge that in 2019, the Montréal School’s MBA ranked 46 th in Operations Management, and that the QS didn’t establish any classifications for 2020.
