Rome Tours & Transfers

See the heart of Tuscany during stops in Montepulciano and Pienza, with time for lunch on your own. Or, add an expert guide (additional cost) for an in-depth 3-hour tour to include visits to an olive oil mill, winery, artisan brewery or cheesemaker with tastings:

Proceed into the countryside to our favorite winery that produces its own Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Wine , tour the property and enjoy tastings of both specialties along with local cheeses, salumi and vegetables before proceeding to the famous Umbrian town of Orvieto , where you will meet up with your guide and take a walking tour of the historical center along its medieval cobblestone streets to see the famous Duomo and the Pozzo of San Patrizio (entry fees required to tour internally). Continuation afterwards to your final destination of Florence.

Rome City Tours

Ancient rome tour (3 hours).

Take a journey through time and discover the highlights of Ancient Rome with your expert guide and driver. Enjoy a panoramic overview of the important ruins of ancient Rome and see the Forum, Circo Massimo , the Arch of Constatine and the Piazza Venezia with its towering monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy. Visit the famous site of the Roman gladiator fights at the Colosseum,   that dates back to 80 A.D. and is the largest amphitheater ever built in the world.  Your guide will enthrall you with tales of the gladiators heroic bravery, and the impressive logistics used at the time to conduct the spectacles with rudimentary pulleys and trapdoors to raise the gladiators and wild animals to the arena floor to face their opponents. Private Vatican Tours in the Evenings (2 1⁄2-3 hours)

The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are open to the public on Friday nights and this is an exceptional opportunity to  see the Vatican in the evening  with the lights of Rome visible from the terraces. We would recommend having an early dinner and meeting your guide for an 8:00-8:30 p.m. appointment to start the tour. Roman Gladiator School (2 Hours)

In ancient Roman times, public entertainment was provided at the Coliseum with combat between sword-wielding gladiators and wild animals. Our Roman Gladiator School will teach you about the history of this tradition and allow you to train with authentic weapons used by gladiators of ancient Rome. Sessions are organized and led by members of the Historic Group of Rome, who specialize in the authentic re-enactment of Ancient Roman life & Gladiatorial combat. Each lesson includes an introduction to Roman History in the museum with Gladiator memorabilia, swords and armor and you can see the actual costumes and weapons that these unwilling warriors used. Afterwards you will don your tunic, choose your weapon and learn the basic techniques of gladiatorial sword fighting with your expert instructor. All the participants receive a special certificate of accomplishment.

Roman Cooking Lessons with Market tour in small group (4-5 hours)

Enjoy the experience of cooking a complete Italian meal with a Roman chef, who will reveal his best techniques during this small group lesson in central Rome. You’ll shop in a local market, choosing fresh ingredients to use in your cooking class and then prepare your meal in an exclusive location in the heart of the Eternal City (address will be sent). You’ll make a homemade pasta , main course with side dish and dessert at your personal workstation. At the end of the course, enjoy the dishes you’ve created accompanied by the perfect wine your chef has selected to complement your lunch.

Pasta Making and Tiramisu Cooking Class (small group) (2-3 hours)

Gastronomic Walking Tour of Rome (3 hours)

Our Roman gastronomic tour will take you to discover the food of the charming Testaccio neighborhood, where you will visit a local delicatessen for cheese and salami tastings , a bakery for samples of pizza and other street food , and then for a stroll through the market for tastings of fried risotto balls . Proceed to taste the classic Roman pasta dishes like Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana at a local trattoria and then finish your tour with coffee among the locals, and artisanal gelato for dessert.

Tivoli’s Villas and Gardens (6 hours)

Depart your hotel at 9:00 am with your expert guide and private car, for a relaxing day discovering the archeological wonders of Tivoli. CANCELLATION ADVISORY:

Transfers  may be canceled NO LESS THAN 48 HOURS  prior to your Transfer.

If you have  prepaid for a Transfer , please be sure to cancel prior to 48 hours of your Service so you can be issued a refund. Refunds for last-minute cancellations less than 48 hours or No Shows are NOT issued.

* CANCELLATION FOR PREPAID SERVICES : a REDUCED NET RATE will be issued on prepaid services. Net Rate is what we receive from your prepayment after PayPal / CC takes out their fees which they don't reimburse us in case of refunds. Therefore, we are only able to refund the reduced amount we receive from you after PayPal/ CC takes out their fees.

FIUMICINO AIRPORT MEETING POINT

Terminal 3 Meeting Point: Your Chauffeur will meet you in the main waiting hall of Terminal 3. After you collect your luggage in “Baggage Claims”, exit this area into the main waiting hall . Your chauffeur will wait for you in the designated area for Chauffeurs marked by multiple large gray / orange “Meeting Point” Columns .

Terminal 1 Meeting Point: Your chauffeur will meet you in the area marked by a Large gray / orange  “Meeting Point” Column located just across the exit doors in the main waiting hall .

NOTE:  Flights arriving at  TERMINAL 2  or   TERMINAL 5  will exit through  TERMINAL 3 

Your Chauffeur will arrive approximately 40 minutes after your flight is shown to have landed at FCO Airport to allow you time to clear customs and collect your luggage.

Designated Parking  for  Chauffeur Service Vehicles  is approximately 300 meters walking distance from Terminal. Curbside pick-up is prohibited at FCO Airport.

 CIAMPINO AIRPORT MEETING POINT:

Ciampino Airport  is a small airport with only 1 exit point. Simply exit the terminal into the waiting hall through the sliding doors, you can easily locate your chauffeur who will meet you there.

IMPORTANT LUGGAGE INFORMATION:

Sedans can accommodate up to 2 suitcases and up to 2 small carryons .  Beyond that, please request a minivan upgrade at an additional rate.

Vans can accommodate a maximum of 6 suitcases and 6 small carryons . Beyond that, you will require a 2nd vehicle at the cost of a 2nd transfer.

LUGGAGE ASSISTANCE : Your chauffeur will be happy to assist you with your luggage into and out of the vehicle to your hotel or address the main entrance. Beyond the main entrance of your hotel or apartment building, please secure luggage assistance with your Hotel Porter or Apartment Host .  Our chauffeurs will not be able to carry luggage into the building, or upstairs/downstairs.

BOOK A PORTER SERVICE :  If you are staying inside an apartment building without elevators and require luggage to be brought to your apartment, you may reserve our PORTER SERVICE at 30 EUROS , and we will reserve a special chauffeur who will be able to assist you with our luggage inside your apartment building. Without Porter Service Reservation, your chauffeur will only be able to bring your luggage to the main entrance of the building without further assistance inside the building.

TIPS for booking your Airport Transfer with Rome Tour:

• Please allow  up to 24 hours  for your booking request to be processed and to receive email correspondence from our booking specialists.
• Check your spam folder  and  white list our email address  if you do not hear from us within 24 hours. If you use @HOTMAIL, @YAHOO, @AOL, @COMCAST, @NETSCAPE... these email providers experience frequent issues with receiving legitimate emails.

• Rome Airport Transfer with Tour Prices is for 1 Drop Off Location in Central Rome.  If you require drop-off at multiple locations in central Rome  please contact us via E-Mail so we can assist with price quotes to extend your tour service, otherwise, your additional stops would take away from your tour time.
• Minivans can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 suitcases and up to 6 carry-on cases in total.  If you anticipate bringing  more luggage  than that, please contact us via E-Mail prior to booking so you and your luggage can be best accommodated.
• During your Airport Transfer with Tour, you will be traveling with your luggage stowed inside the vehicle. You and your luggage will be delivered to your accommodation at the end of the tour.
• If your final drop-off location in central Rome  (such as an attraction or place of interest) will be other than your hotel or accommodation, you can request to stop at your accommodation before you start your tour to drop off your luggage or check-in . Please note that this additional stop will take away from your touring possibility unless you wish to extend your tour.
• There is no preset itinerary for the sightseeing transfers. Please discuss with your Chauffeur at the onset of the service what you wish to see, and your experienced Chauffeur will be happy to offer suggestions that will make the most of your sightseeing opportunities.

We arrived a couple of hours before we could check into our Airbnb. We choose the two hour driving tour to fill the time and start to get a feel for the city. Our driver was magnificent. He shared his knowledge of the history of Roma, showed us parts of the wall surrounding the ancient city, the Roman Baths where they now hold the summer opera festival and the keyhole view of three nations- you'll have to ask your driver for explanation of this wonder! Although our flight landed on time, we hit a delay moving through customs and were over an hour late for the pick up. That didn't matter to Paolo. He waited patiently at the designated spot and gladly assisted us with our bags. On our way to the hotel, Paolo provided a tour. Alex picked us up at the Rome airport today. It was fantastic to be met at baggage claim by an English speaking guide after a long flight. He immediately took my bag, escorted us to the car, and had chilled water available. Our 2 hour tour was a good mix of driving and walking. It was a great start to our visit!

Our driver was excellent - spoke good English and was very friendly. He met us at the airport arrivals and provided a bottle of chilled water each for all 5 of us when we arrived at the vehicle - which was very welcome in the heat. San Paolo Fuori Le Mura (St. Paul Outside the Walls) is one of the four papal basilicas in Rome, second in size only to St. Peter's.  Built in the 4th Century AD on the site of Paul the Apostle’s tomb, it has been reconstructed a couple of times, rising to fame for its collection of Paleo-Christian, Byzantine and Gothic art treasures, as well as a long series of medallions that depicts the popes throughout history.  Time will be given to admire its impressive architecture, as well as the lovely rose garden and 13th-century cloister.

Your tour will continue with a drive-by of some of the city's highlights:

The Pyramid of Cestius , a funerary monument built in the 1st century BC, when Egyptian things were all the rage in Rome.  The tomb was built for Gaius Cestius, a magistrate who had very likely served in the Roman campaigns against Egypt.

As you regard the Emperors' Palace on the Palatine Hill let your imagination drift back a couple thousand years to a time when the chariot races took place in Circus Maximus.

The Colosseum will afterward show itself in all its greatness.  The most iconic monument in Rome, this amphitheater from the 1st Century AD is a place where 50.000 people watched cruel battles between gladiators and wild beasts.

In Piazza Venezia , the central hub of the city, you’ll see the massive monument to Victor Emmanuel , the first king of united Italy, and the palazzo that was Mussolini's headquarters, where he gave many of his legendary speeches from the balcony facing the piazza. 

Cruising down the Via dei Fori Imperiali (Road of the Imperial Forums), lined with bronze statues of the greatest Roman emperors, you’ll get a glimpse of (surprise!) the ruins of the Roman forums on both sides of the street.

No tour would be complete without a quick stop at Trevi fountain , the largest and most famous baroque fountain in the city.  Throw a coin over your shoulder into the fountain and be part of the ritual that has become famous amongst the throngs of visitors who want to ensure their return to Rome.

The tour is private, just for your party.

2. Where do we meet the driver at the airport?

Your driver will be waiting for you at the Meeting Point just outside the customs area.

3. Does the driver go with us inside the monuments?

No, only a licensed guide is authorized to accompany you during the visit of sights. Our driver will drop you off close to the sights but will stay with the vehicle for the duration of your visit.

4. Does it include a guide?

No guide is included in the rate. For this tour we do not think it is necessary to hire one.

5. Can we go outside the car and take pictures of the monuments?

Yes, whenever possible, your driver will stop the car and allow you to step outside and take pictures.

6. Does this tour include lunch and admission fees to sites?

No tickets or lunch are included in the rate. Please contact our office for pricing and reservations.

7. What is the duration of the service? Can we extend the time upfront with the driver?

The duration of this service is 2 hours, including pickup at the airport and drop off at your hotel in Rome. If you would like to add extra hours to your tour, please contact our office so that we can check the driver's availability and advise the cost.

8. Is gratuity included in the price?

Tips are never included in our quotes. We think that a tip shouldn’t be included in the rate otherwise it would be a tax!!! Once in Italy do not feel as though you have to tip everyone because someone told you to. Tip only if you really liked the service. Tips are generally: 10% not bad 15 % great 20 % best tour in my life. Please report any abuse.

There will be a full charge for bookings canceled with less than 72-hour notice for any service required. In this case, a full charge will be made on your credit card. If you miss your flight or if your airline decides to cancel the flight due to bad weather or if your flight is directed to another airport on arrival, please advise us on time (as soon as you know) or a full charge will be made.

Please give us enough time so we can accept other reservations and allocate them to our chauffeurs. If the ship does not make it to the pier for bad weather, you will not be considered responsible so NO CHARGE will be made to your credit card. A full charge will be made for a no-show-up.

Only pre-purchased skip-the-line tickets (if requested) are not refundable under the circumstance and will be charged to your card.

There are many transportation options for each, choose the one most suitable for you in advance and that is one way to start your vacation on the right note.

From Fiumicino International Airport

Private Driver

Booking a private driver that will take you directly to you accommodation is the best option for those who may be jet lacked on arrival or simply want the most stress free way to get from the airport into town. When booking this you will be asked for your flight details, if there are any flight delays you need not worry as the driver will track your flight and make any adjustments needed to your pickup time. After you pick up the luggage simply exit the baggage area and your driver will be there with a sign with your name on it. As this is a pre-paid service you do not need to worry about payment. If you leave anything in the car you have a way to contact the driver and if the driver discovers that you have left anything behind they will have discovered it before his next pick-up and will be able to contact you.

An official Rome Taxi will have the airport to City rates printed on the outside of the car door, there is one rate if you are outside the city walls and a second rate if you are within. When taking a Taxi confirm the rate before you get in and take down the car number in case you leave anything behind.

Leonardo express is a train that is linked from the airport directly to the main train station in Rome, (Termini). There are frequent trains and once you arrive at Termini central station you can connect to buses, the metro,(underground transportation) and of course taxi’s can be found there as well. This can be the most cost efficient option if you don’t have a lot of luggage or small children.

Shuttle Bus

There are frequent buses that run from the airport to Termini, (central), train station with an option of getting off in the Vatican area. This can be a good option for people staying close to the Vatican area.

From Ciampino Airport

There are frequent buses that run from the airport to Termini, (central), train station. Once you arrive at Termini central station you can connect to buses, the metro,(underground transportation) and of course taxi’s can be found there as well. This can be the most cost efficient option if you don’t have a lot of luggage or small children.

* This V.I.P. Transfer service is only available going to hotels in central Rome. If you are staying at a hotel outside of Rome please contact us for assistance.

* These Airport Transfers with welcome tours are not highly informative or in-depth tours. These introduction and mini-tours are intended to offer guests an introduction to the Eternal City and help visitors orient themselves in preparation for their stay in Rome.

* There is no set itinerary for the VIP Transfer with Rome tours from the airport. We offer suggestions of places of interest in Rome, but we also recommend discussing with your driver if you have any preferences of sites to see. Your driver will show you as much as possible during the duration of your 1 hour, 2 hour or 4 hour welcome tour by car.

* The welcome tours start with  arrival in Rome from the airport, and end with your Rome Hotel Drop Off.

PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR VIP TRANSFERS:

Payment for our VIP Transfers (Rome Transfer with Tour) can be made in  EUROS  directly to your driver on the Date of Tour, or upon request prepay in advance via  PayPal  or  Credit Card  online. PayPal processes all online credit card payments for safety and security.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

For Rome airport hotel Transfers, cancellation must be made  within 48 HOURS  of Date and Time of Service.  ** Cancelations for PREPAID SERVICES will be refunded a REDUCED Net Rate we receive from your prepayment.  Net Rate: actual service price minus PayPal/Credit Card fees retained by PayPal/Credit Card as they do not reimburse us the fees they retain from your payment.

TIPS FOR BOOKING YOUR VIP ROME AIRPORT TRANSFER

• To ensure a secured accurate service, ALL reservations must be made online on our website .  We do not take reservations by phone, email, or through your driver or another third party. 
• Each transfer service must be booked individually .
• For Transfers from the Airport to Rome, the " SELECT ESTIMATED TIME " should be your Flight Arrival Time at the Airport
• Do not   book a transfer or other services via the special request box of another transfer.
• The booking form must be used only to place actual reservation requests . Please do not utilize the booking form for questions or general inquiries. Please send us an email if you have any questions about our services.
• Once you submitted your reservation information, please allow up to 24 hours for your reservation request to be processed and to receive a confirmation email from our staff informing you of availability to accommodate your request.
• Please be sure you provide the  correct Flight Information  (Flight Number, Date, and Time of arrival in Rome). Service cannot be provided if incorrect flight information is received.
• Please provide a valid and complete address for your pick-up or drop-off in Rome. Service cannot be provided with an incorrect pickup address.

CHANGES IN YOUR ROME AIRPORT TRANSFER BOOKING:

Last-minute changes to the already confirmed itinerary can only be accommodated pending availability . 

YOUR PRIVATE DRIVER

Your private Driver is a professionally licensed limo driver who also speaks English. Drivers are NOT licensed tour guides, therefore your Driver cannot accompany you away from the vehicle.

Italy has strict laws and regulations in place to protect licensed tour guides, making it unlawful for Drivers to act as tour guides and/or accompany guests away from the vehicle to sightsee on foot. Your driver will be obliged to remain with the vehicle while you enjoy Self Touring away from the vehicle.

If you are pleased with the service you receive from your driver 10-15% gratuity is customary (but NOT obligatory) in Italy.

IMPORTANT LUGGAGE INFORMATION:

Please specify the TOTAL number of large suitcases and small carry-ons in order to be provided a proper size vehicle.

For  1-3 passengers  we provide a standard car type deluxe vehicle with a maximum luggage capacity of  1-2 suitcases and 2-3 carry-ons .

If you bring  extra luggage  that would not fit into a sedan truck space, please inform us in the special request box that you request a larger vehicle and you will be upgraded to a Mini Van at an extra fee.

For  4-8 passengers  we provide a deluxe minivan that can accommodate up to  6 check-in suit cases and up to  6 small carry-ons .

* Please advise if your luggage exceeds capacity  as you may require a  2nd vehicle .

NOTE:  Failure to inform us of your exact number of luggage may result in our inability to provide the proper size vehicle to accommodate your luggage, and you might be charged for a 2nd vehicle.

 LUGGAGE ASSISTANCE / PORTER SERVICE:

If you are staying at private apartments without an elevator and require luggage to be brought upstairs or downstairs, please secure luggage assistance via your Host as our Drivers will only be able to leave your luggage at the main entrance, after which you will need to secure luggage assistance with your Host.

Upon request, we can provide PORTER SERVICE at 25 EUROS to bring your luggage upstairs and downstairs.  Be sure to request PORTER SERVICE in advance when booking your transfer so we will provide a Driver who will be physically able to bring your luggage upstairs or downstairs at 25 Euros Per Transfer.

TRAVELING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN?

Please advise if you are traveling with children  8 years and younger  and  IF you require a child seat  or  booster seat  to be provided. 

If  you do require child seats to be provided please include this request along with the  children’s Ages   and Weight  ( in Kilograms ) in the Special Request box of our booking form so proper child seats can be included and confirmed.

WHERE TO MEET YOUR DRIVER AT AIRPORT

Fco / fiumicino airport meeting point:.

TERMINALS 1, 3:

For transfers from FCO Fiumicino Airport, once you clear customs and collect your luggage in the " Baggage Claims Area ", proceed to exit into the main Waiting Hall . Your driver will meet you in the Designated Area for Drivers marked by large round Columns (labeled N.C.C./ Limo Drivers ) where you will see all other drivers waiting for their clients.

At FCO Airport ALL PASSENGERS will either exit from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 , even if airlines state arrival at Terminal 2 or Terminal 5. Drivers will monitor FCO Airport Arrival Flight monitors to verify exit points.

ALL Driver Service vehicles are required by Airport Security to be parked in a Designated Parking Area that is a few minutes walking distance from the Terminal. ALL travelers are required to make their way to that Designated Parking Area. Curbside pick up is PROHIBITED at the Airports.

Please use  LUGGAGE TROLLEYS available in the Baggage Claims area near the Luggage Carousels to make carrying your luggage from Baggage Claims to your vehicles easy.

Travelers with mobility issues are encouraged to contact their Airline Company and reserve in advance Complimentary Wheelchair Assistance at FCO Airport to be met at the plane and assisted all the way to the vehicle.  

CIAMPINO AIRPORT MEETING POINT:

Ciampino is a smaller airport than Fiumicino Airport, making it easy to locate your driver waiting for you with a sign bearing your name. Ciampino Airport has only 1 exit. Your driver will meet you outside the terminal, just after you exit through the sliding doors.

ROME'S AIRPORTS FLIGHT MONITORING

Flights are monitored for delays, and late arrivals are accommodated by the first available driver .

• UNEXPECTEDLY EARLY FLIGHT ARRIVALS:

Flights that land unexpectedly early are often not announced sufficiently in advance to be accommodated. In such cases, drivers will arrive at the originally booked flight arrival time. In such cases, there are cafes inside the terminal building where you may enjoy a beverage or a snack while you wait for your driver to arrive.

• FLIGHT DELAYS:

If your flight is delayed, we will send the first available driver for your late arrival.  On busy days, it may not be possible to arrange last minute for a new driver to arrive right when your late flight lands . In such cases, there are cafes inside the terminal building where you may enjoy a beverage or a snack while you wait for your driver to arrive.

We booked the 2 hour VIP transfer with pick up at FCO and the drop off at our hotel. We were met at the indicated place by our driver who was friendly and well spoken. We booked the VIP airport transfer from the airport to our hotel which included a 1 hour driving tour of Rome. This was an excellent introduction to Rome, and our driver Alex was awesome. Despite it taking over an hour for our bags to arrive in baggage claim, Alex was there patiently waiting for us. Rome Cab also pickedus up from our hotel at 5 am to transfer us back to the airport. They were prompt, courteous and the Mercedes vehicles were very comfortable. I would highly recommend them, and will use them again if I return to Rome.

RomeCabs are highly recommended following our great experience this week. Communication before our trip was speedy and with no language difficulties at all. We were picked up in the airport exactly as specified in the video (provided beforehand so we could prepare). A great commentary was provided by the driver of some of the main tourist sites during our 1-hour trip. He even helped us find the exact appartment we were staying at!
