You won't meet a nicer, more down-to-earth artist than Blues musician, Seasick Steve. I first saw him on Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny in 2007. I loved his myriad of customised guitars including “The Three-string Trance Wonder”, “The Morris Minor” and my personal favourite - “The One-Stringed Diddley Bow”.

I saw him before his performance at Latitude 2008 walking around, big smile, soaking up the atmosphere - you could tell he was a genuine, humble character. On stage he told us some stories from his past, travelling on the freight trains around the US getting work where he could. He admits he’s spent time as a hobo, a tramp and a bum. I only know him as a fantastic musician.

During his Latitude set he played “Cut My Wings”, “Dog House Boogie” and even pulled a girl out of the audience to sing a love song to her on stage. His whole performance went down a storm, with thousands of fans stomping the ground to his Blues. For a few songs he brought his son on stage to play with him which was a lovely touch.

All in all, whether you're a Blues fan or not, Seasick Steve is one of the artists I recommend you see live before you pop your clogs. He won't disappoint.

Seasick Steve, what a guy. The Californian musician began recording solo material rather late in his career considering the man is now in his mid-70s. The UK in particular really warmed towards his honest songwriting style, jovial lyrics and dry wit. His albums have been continuously rising up the charts and every time he tours here he claims to feel more and more at home.

The audience is equally warm to the performer due to his wonderfully humble demeanour. He chats to the crowds right off the cuff about life, travels, his music and the city he is currently playing in. This demo-like style is a real winner as the whole performance has a splendid laid back mentality, allowing Steve to then surprise with rambunctious instrumentals during 'Keep on Keepin' On' aided by his slick drummer. The audience's applauses are thunderous for the man's musical ability and he capitalises on the energy by wrapping up with fan favourite 'Thunderbird'. There is no doubt that should he still be able to, Seasick Steve will be recording and touring for the foreseeable future.

Be prepared for a laugh out loud party with this dude! He sure is a whole heap of fun to watch, dance to and sing along to.

What an amazing talent, I reckon if you left a broom on stage, Steve could get a tune from it!

And it's not just about Steve and his crazy legs dancing, Dan on drums is Muppet's Animal reincarnated and young Luther can rock a paint pot (you'll see!) better than anyone!

Oh yeah, musically, an excellent blend of stuff from the new LP and a fair amount of the classics.

This is one recommended gig, 5-star!

Great concert - great guy! This guy has such a wonderful energy, a wonderful voice combined with base/guitar and a great drummer! A concert where you get a smile on your face after a couple of seconds and that lasts through the concert and you take it home. I love the tough blues songs and I loved the what softer songs - just Steve and the guitar. Atmosphere was good, Paradiso was full and just loved it! Wish there were more "Steves" in this world!

The best night I've ever had,the venue was amazing,when Steve came in the john Deere tractor the crowd went wild, I was six people back from the stage and really enjoyed it there was no pushing, doghouse boogie live was excellent, I would absolutely recommend to anyone that they should go see Steve when ever they get the chance. Thanks for my ticket to the best concert I've ever been to.

What a great show! Seasick Steve got sounds from his guitars that reminded me of Jimi Hendrix. It was so clear he was enjoying performing too, at some moments, even though we were in the cavernous Wembley Arena, it felt as if we were sitting around a campfire and he was singing just for a few friends. We loved every minute!

Amazing entertainment, Seasick Steve has a such an enjoyable time on stage you feel like your watching a good friend. Still humble and appreciative of the fame that has come later to him he gives us all hope that we can "stick it to the man" some days. Amazing drumming and brilliant guitar skills not to be missed.

What an amazing show. He walked on stage 15 min late but energized the room very quickly. Show lasted about 90-120 minutes. He does put on a great show. He connected with the crowd and mad them feel at one with him and his band. Luther was an awesome guitarist. Go see him

Realy enjoyed our night seeing Seasick Steve again.This time sitting down in St Davids hall Cardiff and he didn't disappoint.Whot a great show ,a very talented but humble man.Love everyone of his songs.Looking forward to seeing him in the summer at a festival.:-)

Venue was absolutely fantastic. Sound was great and seating comfortable for an outside venue.

Seasick Steve entertained from start to finish. Engaging and humerous. He's a very talented musician and a top entertainer.

Seasick Steve comes to play The London Palladium , in support of his latest album, Blues in Mono . For these special, intimate shows entitled the Just Steve, A Guitar and You Tour , Steve will be performing solo.

Steve says, “I‘m lookin’ forward to coming and playing for y’all. Just gonna be me, you and my guitar. A few songs and a few stories, kinda like we just hanging’ out together! Gonna be fun. See ya there.”

The Just Steve, A Guitar and You Tour is a tour that fans have been crying out for, for many years. Steve can’t wait, offering fans his advice between now and the shows: “In the meantime stay strong, workout, and eat your vegetables!”

With special guest  Kitty Macfarlane .

Last year saw Steve release two albums, the rocking Love & Peace (July 2020) and the acoustic Blues In Mono  (November 2020) a timeless tribute to traditional, acoustic country blues recorded with a microphone from the 1940s with Steve performing the songs solo, direct to an old tape machine.

Seasick Steve has announced new UK and European shows.

In addition to his previously confirmed UK in-store dates in June, the singer-songwriter will embark on a European tour later in the year, following on from a number of festival appearances this summer, including  Wychwood Festival ,  Black Deer Festival , Beach Festival in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, and  Latitude Festival .

The new trek includes shows in Southampton, Nottingham, Cambridge, Bath, Manchester, Glasgow, Wolverhampton and London between November 9 and 21. He'll also play dates in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Switzerland and France earlier in the autumn. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on March 15.

In February, Steve announced a new album, 'A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down On Your Knees', which is due out on June 7 via So Recordings. It'll feature the previously released Backbone Slip , as well as the newly shared singles Funky Music and Let The Music Talk.

The former offers flourishes of horns, giving an upbeat southern soul vibe, while the latter is a more traditional, brooding country-blues affair. Commenting on Funky Music, Steve said:

"This track is super fun to play! It’s just about funking it up, I have always loved funk! Bands like Sly and The Family Stone, Tower Of Power you know, that was the influence here, it’s a soul thang!"

On the album, he continued: "This album was made by mistake, as the title suggests we just tripped and stumbled into it, and it became my favourite album ever and the piece of work I’m most proud of to date. There’s not a week goes by that I don’t thank my lucky stars for that night on the Hootenanny which has brought us here to this record."

New Years Eve 2006 on Jools Holland’s BBC Hootenanny an unknown American singer/songwriter already a grandfather with a beat-up Japanese guitar with only three strings and old wooden box to stomp on made musical history. Seasick Steve was introduced to the UK and the UK adopted Seasick Steve.

He’s played all over the world and released new records. Seasick Steve has gone on to play almost every major festival in the World, selling out numerous tours and legendary venues along the way such as Wembley Arena in 2016 and two nights at The Royal Albert Hall in 2014 bringing his collection of homemade guitars and his drummer crazy Dan Magnusson along for the ride.

Seasick Steve has sold almost 2 million records Worldwide, earning three top ten albums in the official UK album chart. He’s releasing a new record ‘A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down on Your Knees’ on June 7th via So Recordings and is available to pre-order now. The album is Steve’s favourite record to date and he’s as excited as ever to be hitting the road to play tracks from the album around World throughout 2024 and beyond.
