You probably don’t need much persuasion to convince you that Crete or Corfu are incredible holiday destinations for families. However, if you do need a little extra, Simpson Travel Beach Life is all that.

Available at GK Beach Hotel in Crete and Bella Mare Hotel in Corfu, Beach Life is the complimentary activity club designed for five to 11 year olds which operates during school summer holidays.

A range of carefully planned activities mean kids can get up to anything on holiday from disc golf and mini-fencing to pottery making and learning circus skills. Naturally the beautiful beaches of Corfu and Crete come into play too, so there’s plenty of outdoor adventure. And of course the pool is another playground, so expect kids to be coming back with tall tales of tournaments and water games.

Our first experience of Simpson Travel

This was our first holiday with Simpson Travel and from start to finish, the experience with them was excellent. We stayed in a Simpson Hotel in Kalkan and everything had been thought of and done so well. There were very nice touches such as the bottles of water supplied for the taxi transfers and to our room each morning, the towels for the beach as well as the pool as well as the lovely welcome and farewell we received. The local Simpson rep was lovely and I enjoyed talking with her as well as getting her help when needed. The Simpson brand and the amazing family run Regency hotel work so well together. I can highly recommend Simpson Travel and we will very definitely travel with them on our next holiday!

We stayed at at the Sienna

We stayed at at the Siena , Simpsons villa in Lefkada, Nidiri. The location could not be better, with a pool and the sea right in front of the house. Villa Selina, Nikiana, Lefkada

We stayed in Villa Selina on the outskirts of Nikiana. The villa was almost perfect for us, very comfortable, a great location with views across the sea to mainland Greece and a pontoon to swim from and moor a boat. Yiannis, the local Simpson rep, was amazingly helpful and a real gem. He booked the best table for us at Rachi, arranged a boat for a few days and was always on hand when ever we had questions. A couple of minor points which needed attention to make our stay truly perfect: Being able to park in the parking place behind the gates at the villa would have been good. Making the hand rails down to the pontoon and the bridge rails more secure. Ensuring the villa description is correct. The description stated we would have an Nespresso coffee machine, so took appropriate capsules, only to find a different machine for which pods weren't easily found in the local shops. Neither of our rental cars were roadworthy. The first car had a tracking issue, making an awful lot of noise, seat belt would not retrack, and very poor hand brake. The second car only had one dipped headlight and the same seat belt issue as the first car. We did though really enjoy our holiday in a well-equipped villa with fantastic views in a beautiful part of the world.

Ithaca, Kyparissi Suites

We have had several holidays with Simpsons and all of them have been excellent. They are always very efficiently run from start to finish. This time we stayed on the island of Ithaca in a lovely suite called Kyparissi which overlooks the harbour of Kioni, a beautiful little port with several excellent tavernas and bars surrounding the harbour.

Simpson holidays Fiskardo

Simpson holidays where excellent everything so well organised would recommend. The only downside Easy jet had big delays on the outbound flight due to no pilot available. But a wonderful holiday in Fiskardo.

Another great Simpson Experience

Great booking experience and villa. Yiannis our resort concierge was always on hand and made all the difference to our holiday. He sorted issues for us with the car hire company and villa safe promptly and efficiently and assisted us with boat hire for a day.

Nidri-the Villa de Siena

We stayed in Nidri-the Villa de Siena; The villa was beautifully placed and faced directly onto the sea; however some furniture tired and in need of replacing. The most disappointing thing was that quite a few restaurants had already closed in Nidri and Lefkada.

Level of service

We were very pleased with the level of service offered by Simpson Travel. Particularly by a lady from the pre travel team who, calmly and efficiently, rectified an error I had made in my booking information by contacting the airline directly. she then rang me straight back to reassure me that the information had been changed.

Wow. The team at Simpson Travel are quite simply fantastic, they have clearly been organising trips for a long time and know exactly what is required. 5 star service from enquiry to arriving home. A member of the Simpson travel team were ready to greet us at each port of entry. We travelled to Paxos and therefore needed transfer from the airport to the port to catch a ferry and from the port to the villa. We stayed in Valentinos House on the Thymari Estate. The villa the main house and the service provided surpassed our expectations. The local Thymari team here were also 5 star. For the service and quality provided by Simpson Travel this was a great value for money option that I would highly recommend. Just Superb👌

A fantastic holiday brilliantly orchestrated by Simpson Travel. Big thanks for making our stay on Paxos relaxing and enjoyable from great travel to and from the island to laminated walking maps and helpful advice on local things and customs. Simpson Travel secures new investment to drive expansion

Independent operator Simpson Travel has secured new investment and made key senior appointments as part of expansion plans.

Risk Capital Partners (RCP) has taken an undisclosed stake in the company to fund Simpson’s growth strategy of expanding its range of European destinations with exclusive new properties to add to its portfolios in Greece, Turkey, Corsica, France, Italy and Majorca.

Former Hotelplan UK CEO Paul Carter has joined as Chairman, while Operations Director Ed Pyke has become Managing Director.

Founder Graham Simpson (pictured) will remain as an advisor to the Board, while sons Mathew and Daniel, and daughter Hannah, will continue in their respective roles as Product Director, Commercial Director and Head of Trade Sales.  Helen Grace will continue as Director of Marketing and Communications.  

Graham said: “It’s a real pleasure to announce Ed’s promotion to the role of MD.  He is Simpson Travel through and through, with a deep understanding of the expectations of our clients and what makes a Simpson holiday so special.

“I am delighted that RCP are joining the team. There is no doubt their backing presents an exciting prospect. They are as passionate as I am about the future of Simpson Travel and I know that our founding principles will remain at the heart of the business.

“Our reputation is built upon exceptional service and the distinctive quality of our accommodation and I look forward to watching the business go from strength to strength under the leadership of an outstanding management team.”

Ed said: “I am thrilled to be stepping up to the role of Managing Director at this pivotal time in the company’s history.  We have seen record years in 2023 and 2024 to date, as bookings exceed pre-pandemic levels. 

“As one of the UK’s most respected specialist tour operators I recognise the firm foundations and reputation for excellence that Graham has established for Simpson Travel and look forward to building on his legacy to take the company forward.

“The investment and backing of RCP affords a wonderful opportunity to push on with our ambitious growth plans; I am enormously proud of all that we have achieved to date and hugely excited for the future.”

Risk Capital Partners, founded by Luke Johnson, is a specialist investor in hospitality businesses and has successfully backed Neilson Active Holidays, Cruise.co and Elegant Hotels.
