Set sail with us in the Gasparilla pirate flotilla! Climb aboard our 72’ catamaran, the Bay Spirit II, as we travel across the waters of Hillsborough Bay to join the annual re-enactment of Tampa’s historic pirate invasion. This swashbuckling adventure is open to guests 21 years of age or older and includes an unlimited brunch, open bar, live DJ and spectacular views of the invasion.

Admission to the aquarium is  NOT included with ticket purchase. Guests boarding the Gasparilla Cruise will be directed to enter through the Splash Pad gates located outside of the Aquarium (adjacent to the front entrance) and meet for boarding at the Wild Dolphin Cruise gates.

• The Bay Spirit will depart the flotilla before it heads to the Tampa Convention Center due to boat traffic and safety (see parade route below). The Florida Aquarium is a 15-minute walk to the downtown parade route and is located along the TECO Line Streetcar System  route ( http://tecolinestreetcar.org ), which is free to ride.

Parking is available for purchase in the City of Tampa parking lot adjacent to The Florida Aquarium and is free for members while supplies last. Please allot extra time for street closures.

Are tickets refundable or transferable?

Tickets for this date are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. May not be combined with any other offer. No discounts, vouchers, certificates or comps of any kind may be used for this cruise.

What route will the boat take?

The Bay Spirit II will meet the Pirate Ship Jose Gaspar at Ballast Point and join the flotilla. From there, we’ll journey along the Gasparilla Flotilla into the Seddon Channel (between Davis Island and Harbour Island), then make our way back to Sparkman Channel to dock back at The Florida Aquarium. Ahoy there, mateys! Join the swashbuckling fun as our favorite pirates invade Tampa to claim the Key to the City from the Mayor in an annual reenactment of Tampa’s historic pirate invasion. The Jose Gasparilla II and hundreds of vessels comprising the Gasparilla Floatilla sail across the Bay before docking at the Tampa Convention Center at 1 p.m. There, our buccaneers disembark, and the Mayor finally surrenders the Key to Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla’s heroic Captain. For the best viewing experience, arrive early and secure your spot, or reserve your spot at our annual Gasparilla Invasion Brunch, where you can dine and drink with your mates.

Parking: Parking is available at the Tampa Convention Center and throughout downtown, but plan to arrive early as parking fills up quickly for the event.

Route:  The Jose Gasparilla II sets sail at the south end of Hillsborough Bay at 11:30 A.M., sails north to Seddon Channel (between Davis Island and Harbour Island), continues north, and docks at the Tampa Convention Center at 1:00 p.m.

Viewing: You can witness the Gasparilla Invasion from a number of spots in downtown Tampa, including waterfront hotels, Davis Island, and Harbour Island.

How to get to Gasparilla without driving

Editor's note: The Cross-Bay Ferry will not be operating on Saturday during Gasparilla. The ferry's management had expected the ferry to run that day, but the Coast Guard later said it would not approve the ferry's route for that day. An earlier version of this story said the ferry would run on Saturday.

You want to party at Gasparilla on Saturday but you don't want to sit in South Tampa gridlock, risk getting your paint job scuffed by a plastic pirate sword or find a designated driver? There are options. Here's how to get around at Tampa's giant pirate party without taking your own car all the way into the madness.

If you want an all-inclusive experience, Starlite Cruises offers a special Gasparilla cruise on its Starlite Sapphire . The ship, which carries up to 150 passengers, departs downtown St. Petersburg at 9 a.m. After a continental breakfast, it joins the Gasparilla invasion flotilla, sailing along with the hundreds of boats heading to the Tampa Convention Center led by the cannons-blazing Jose Gasparilla pirate ship.

After lunch is served, passengers leave the Sapphire and watch the parade from reserved bleacher seating, then get back on board for live entertainment and a sit-down dinner. The cruise drops you back in St. Petersburg at 8 p.m., far from the Tampa crowds. Tickets on the Sapphire are $224.30 per person. Toll-free 1-800-444-4814. starlitecruises.com

If you're looking to experience just the invasion on the water, the Florida Aquarium offers a 2.5-hour Gasparilla cruise aboard its 72-foot catamaran, Bay Spirit II , which departs the aquarium, joins the flotilla and returns to the aquarium before the parade begins. Tickets, which include a brunch buffet and bottomless mimosas, are $145. (813) 273-4000. flaquarium.org/gasparilla .

The Pirate Water Taxi , which services the downtown Tampa waterfront, will not operate the day of Gasparilla due to private charters.

ON THE STREETCAR

The TECO Line Streetcar System, which as of October is free to ride, will add additional service to make sure there's plenty of room available during Gasparilla. You can park near one end of the line, Ybor Centro Station in Ybor City, which is usually much easier and less expensive than finding parking close to the parade route, and take the streetcar all the way to other end of the line, Dick Greco Station in downtown Tampa, which puts you only blocks from the parade route.

Because it's the busiest day of the year for the streetcar line, the ride takes on a total party vibe. Don't be surprised if the pirate passengers around you begin singing (though no open containers are allowed). Streetcars will run continuously every few minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.

ON A PUBLIC BUS

Gasparilla is a great day to get acquainted with Hillsborough County's public transportation. HART buses have routes throughout Hillsborough County, making the bus a great option for those traveling to the parade route from as far north as the University of South Florida or as far west as Town 'N Country. It's also a reliable option. Unlike ride-sharing apps, the bus is showing up whether you've got service on your phone or not.

At $4 for an all-day bus pass, it's also one of the most affordable options. Just remember that the passes can be purchased in advance at HART retail outlets or on board with cash only (no change provided).

If you want to drive to a bus stop near home and then take the bus, there are many HART Park-n-Ride lots around Hillsborough County where you can park for free. Find maps and information on HART routes at gohart.org .

ON A BREW BUS

The Brew Bus, the Tampa craft brewery that also operates a beer-tour shuttle bus you can totally drink beer on, is bringing back the Brew Bus Gasparilla Shuttle for a third year. The voyage carries riders from Brew Bus Brewing in Seminole Heights to Winn-Dixie Hyde Park, just a few blocks from the parade route. Round-trip transportation is $40, which includes a voucher for a free six-pack of Brew Bus Brewing beer at Winn-Dixie, a bottle of water and a drawstring cooler bag in which guests can carry their loot throughout the afternoon.

Multiple shuttles will run from Seminole Heights from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and guests can choose between several pickup and dropoff times. For details, visit the event page on Facebook or call toll-free 1-888-945-2739.

If you'd like to bar-hop before the parade starts — without driving — there's the Gasparilla Barrr Crawl. You can grab a drink and jump on the hop-on, hop-off bus traveling among the Channel District's District Tavern, South Tampa's Thee Tree House and downtown's Franklin Manor. The crawl includes a free shot at each stop, beer shotgun and bar games.

Busses will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and arrive every 30 to 45 minutes. Crawlers are released into the wild at 3 p.m. to head to the parade. It costs $35 per person or $60 with brunch at (650) 440-2390 or eventbrite.com .

ON A BICYCLE

This option is probably not for the faint of heart, but if you want to ride a bicycle to Gasparilla there are on-street bike lanes on several of the streets that will lead you toward Bayshore Boulevard or downtown, such as North Boulevard, Nebraska Avenue and Tampa Street. The official Gasparilla FAQ states: "Bicycles are allowed for transportation to the event site, however within the event street closure cyclists must walk with their bikes. The event site is very crowded with pedestrians, including small children. Do not leave your bicycle unattended and do not lock to private or city property."

IN SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR

Ride-share apps Lyft and Uber are always a popular option for getting to the parade, but keep in mind that high demand can mean higher prices. An Uber spokesman said the company recommends requesting an uberXL if riders are headed to Gasparilla with more than four people, since those vehicles accommodate up to six people. The Uber fare split tool will allow riders to share the cost. The app also provides upfront pricing that gives the actual fare before a ride is requested.

Lyft will have two "Lyft lounges" set up where riders can charge their phones. One will be near the corner of Bayshore Boulevard and Swann Avenue, the other near E Twiggs Street and Ashley Drive. "Both will provide our riders with a designated dropoff, pickup or hangout location to easily hail a Lyft ride during the festivities," a Lyft spokesperson said. From Sunday to Feb. 10, Lyft will also provide rides to the EventFest office where partygoers can pick up or drop off any lost or misplaced items from Gasparilla.

Uber will only pick up and drop off riders outside the designated Gasparilla perimeter. From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, the app will display a notification instructing riders where to walk based on their location. People in downtown will have to walk east to N Florida Avenue and people in Hyde Park will have to head north to Cleveland Avenue before requesting a ride. A spokesman for Uber added one more tip via email: "If you're enjoying the festivities on the high seas, head back to land to request your ride! You will not be connected with a driver until you are on land."

Gasparilla 2023 Invasion Brunch

This is the official Gasparilla brunch for 2023. Hosted inside the Tampa Convention Center, this brunch event provides a prime viewing area for families to watch the invasion.

Brunch begins at 10am and includes entertainment, a cash bar, and a reserved seat for the best view of the historic Gasparilla Invasion. The menu includes an array of items such as assorted baked goods, fruit and cheese display, salad, a hot buffet with french toast, egg, sausage, and bacon, a carving station, and assorted beverages. Tickets to brunch are $150 per person.

January 21 and 28 Enjoy the parade in comfort during Children’s Gasparilla on January 21 or Gasparilla Pirate Fest on January 28 when you snag tickets for this special experience. Tickets grant you access to a reserved area south of Howard Avenue on Bayshore Boulevard.

In addition to reserved bleacher seating and pre-parade entertainment, you’ll also get a picnic-style lunch. Lunch is served before the parade and includes slow-roasted pork, black beans & yellow rice, salad, cookies, and alcohol-free beverages. Additional snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be served during the parade.

Yacht StarShip’s Gasparilla Invasion Brunch Cruise

January 28 Don’t have a boat but want to be part of the flotilla? Hop aboard the Yacht StarShip to view the invasion from the largest vessel in the flotilla.

Perks include a full brunch buffet, two drink tickets, a reserved table, DJ entertainment on the top deck, and amazing up-close views of the Jose Gaspar Pirate Ship as it makes its way across the bay.

The cruise lasts 2.5 hours. Adult tickets range from $199.95 to $269.95 and kids’ tickets are $129.95 to $199.95.

13 th Annual Gasparilla Extravaganza

January 28 This ticketed event takes place at the Westin Tampa Waterside, offering prime viewing of the Gasparilla Pirate Invasion.

Don your best pirate garb and enjoy delicious food, open bar, live music, cigar rolling, raffle prizes, and a special play area for the kiddos. As an added benefit, event proceeds support Father of Mine, a local nonprofit that provides support for children growing up without a father. Adult tickets are $125 plus tax and include unlimited food, drinks and entertainment. Kids tickets are $25 plus tax.

January 28 Looking for an over-the-top way to celebrate Gasparilla? Join this epic 11-hour event which includes breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

The fun begins when you board at 8:30am to enjoy a continental breakfast, setting sail at 9am from St. Petersburg across Tampa Bay to join the pirate invasion. Next, enjoy lunch, then make your way to the bleachers where you’ll have reserved seating for the parade on land.

Scully’s Parade of the Pirates Hospitality Experience

Enjoy the parade in comfort when you snag tickets for this special experience. Tickets grant you access to a reserved area south of Howard Avenue on Bayshore Boulevard.

In addition to reserved bleacher seating and pre-parade entertainment, you’ll also get a picnic-style lunch. Lunch is served before the parade and includes slow-roasted pork, black beans & yellow rice, salad, cookies, and alcohol-free beverages. Additional snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be served during the parade. Tickets are $200 for adults.

MeltSO Gasparilla Brunch

Ahoy mateys! Join Melting Pot Social for a swashbuckling Gasparilla Brunch from 9 am- 3 pm. Indulge in a hearty, all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast that will make even the toughest of pirates surrender to the delicious spread. They’ll also have bottomless mimosas flowing all morning. It’s also the perfect spot to be near all the parade action!

$45 per person.

Starlite Cruises Gasparilla Invasion of Tampa Bay

Looking for an over the top way to celebrate Gasparilla? Join this epic 11-hour event which includes breakfast, lunch AND dinner.

The fun begins when you board at 8:30am to enjoy a continental breakfast, setting sail at 9am from St. Petersburg across Tampa Bay to join the pirate invasion. Next, enjoy lunch, then make your way to the bleachers where you’ll have reserved seating for the parade on land.

After the parade, reboard for the dinner cruise to end the night. Wine and cocktails are available to purchase onboard. Tickets are $294.39

Yacht StarShip’s Gasparilla Invasion Brunch Cruise

Don’t have a boat but want to be part of the flotilla? Hop aboard the Yacht StarShip on Saturday, January 28 to view the invasion from the largest vessel in the flotilla.

Perks include a full brunch buffet, two drink tickets, a reserved table, DJ entertainment on the top deck, and amazing up-close views of the Jose Gaspar Pirate Ship as it makes its way across the bay.

The cruise will last 2.5 hours. Adult tickets range from $199.95 to $269.95 and kids tickets are $129.95 to $199.95.

14 th Annual Gasparilla Extravaganza

This ticketed event takes place at the Westin Tampa Waterside, offering prime viewing of the Gasparilla Pirate Invasion.

Don your best pirate garb and enjoy delicious food, open bar, live music, cigar rolling, raffle prizes, and a special play area for the kiddos. As an added benefit, event proceeds support Father of Mine, a local nonprofit that provides support for children growing up without a father. Adult tickets are $175 and include unlimited food, drinks and entertainment.

Gasparilla Invasion Party 

Join The Junior League of Tampa Bay for their 21+ Gasparilla Invasion Party from 9am – 1pm at their Headquarters on Davis Island.

Tickets include food, drinks, live music and entertainment, and of course, viewing of the Gasparilla Invasion. Tickets are $150. Limited parking is available for $55.

University of Tampa’s Gasparilla Brunch

Join UT for a pre-parade brunch from 10am-11:30am. Enjoy unlimited brunch, access to multiple open bars, all day parking, and exclusive UT beads. Parking passes will be sent to ticket holders the day before the event. $45-$65 per person.

Florida Aquarium Gasparilla Invasion Brunch Cruise

Set sail with The Florida Aquarium with the Gasparilla pirate flotilla! Climb aboard their 72’ catamaran, the Bay Spirit II, as you travel across the waters of Hillsborough Bay to join the annual re-enactment of Tampa’s historic pirate invasion from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This swashbuckling adventure is open to guests 21 years of age or older and includes an unlimited brunch, open bar (first two hours, followed by a cash bar), live DJ and spectacular views of the invasion. Tickets are $195 per person.

Gasparilla 2024 Invasion Brunch

This is the official Gasparilla brunch for 2024. Hosted inside the Tampa Convention Center, this brunch event provides a prime viewing area for watching the invasion.

Brunch begins at 10am and includes entertainment, a cash bar and a reserved seat for the best view of the historic Gasparilla Invasion. Tickets to brunch are $148.
