Tenacious D Announce Summer 2022 Tour Dates

Have you caught the D? Well, what are you waiting for? Tenacious D will be back on the road next summer, taking part in a brief run during early June that kicks off with their appearance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

JB and KG will be rocking your favorite tunes, serving up what will be a late celebration of the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. The band has been dipping into their past for the anniversary, recently releasing the "Super Power Party Pack" reissue edition of the album that includes their original 1995 demo cassette as well as the 2002 Tribute EP.

For the upcoming dates, the band will play shows with Puddles Pity Party. The run is primarily centered in the Western U.S. with stops in Utah, Oregon, Washington and California after the initial tour kickoff in Telluride, Colorado. See all the stops listed below.

Tickets for the Telluride Festival go on sale this Thursday (Dec. 9) at 10AM MT, while the remaining shows on the run will go on sale this Friday (Dec. 10) at 10AM local time. Check out the band's website for ticketing details.

This will be  Tenacious D’s  first show in the UK since 2019 when they played a run of sold-out shows that included two nights at Wembley Arena.    Their live experience is an energetic, riff-laden rock rollercoaster of fun that will take fans on a journey of their exhilarating catalogue of classic hits on this upcoming tour.   Tickets go on general sale Friday 4 th  November at 10am via   metropolismusic.com .   Tenacious D  have had a busy few months with the release of a medley of songs from the rock musical, Tommy by The Who in support of Everytown For Gun Safety, as well as launching their own fibre bars in the US, Fibre D’Lish and doing what they love best, hitting the road for a string of sold out US dates.  Tenacious D had a variety series on HBO that aired in 1999, they went on to release their platinum self-titled album in the fall of 2001. 

The duo completed their first feature film together – ‘Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny’ – for New Line Cinema, which was released in November 2006 to critical acclaim followed by the album ‘Rize of the Fenix’ in 2012, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.

In 2013 Black and Gass founded and hosted ‘Festival Supreme’, a music and comedy festival in Los Angeles, CA. In its first four years, ‘Festival Supreme’ boasted acts such as Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Eric Andre, Amy Poehler, Workaholics, & many more.  In 2014 they won a Grammy in the category of Best Metal Performance for their cover of Ronnie James Dio’s ‘The Last In Line’. 

On November 2, 2018, Tenacious D released ‘Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto’ – an animated film, with each frame hand-drawn by Black and every character voiced by Black and Gass. Alongside the film, the band also dropped the album ‘Post-Apocalypto’. 

In September 2020 – with great excitement – Tenacious D released the final piece to the Post-Apocalypto universe: ‘The Graphic Novel’.   In 2022 and beyond  Tenacious D will  continue their quest to spread the message of rock n roll across the world and firmly retain their title as one of the greatest rock bands in the world.  Ever.

Tenacious D Announce Summer 2022 Tour Dates

Tenacious D don't tour often, so when they do announce a run of dates it's a pretty big deal. In the summer of 2022, the hilarious and hard-rockin' duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass will be playing a handful of shows across the West Coast of the U.S., which will partially serve as a celebration of their 2001 self-titled debut turning 20 this year.

Beginning at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colorado, on June 16th, the D will then hit Utah, Portland, Woodinvillle, Washington, and Bend, Oregon, before wrapping up with a pair of California dates in Palo Alto and San Diego. Puddles Pity Party, the clown pseudonym for musician-entertainer Big Mike Geier, will be joining the band as their special guest. 

Tulluride Fest tickets go on sale December 9th at 10 a.m. MT and tickets for the other shows will be available Friday December 10th at 10 a.m. local time. Peep the full itinerary below.

Tenacious D announce European tour dates for 2023

Including a stop at London’s O2 Arena

Tenacious D have shared details of a European tour for 2023.

The duo comprising Jack Black and Kyle Gass will return to Europe next summer for a run of shows that includes a stop at London’s O2 Arena on June 16. That date marks Tenacious D’s first show in the UK since 2019 when they played a string of sold-out shows that included two nights at Wembley Arena.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday (November 4) at 10am GMT here and for the UK date here . Information about pre-sales (beginning tomorrow, November 2) can be accessed via at the band’s website .

News of the tour follows the band performing a medley of songs from The Who ‘s rock opera Tommy earlier this year.

They posted a video in June, which you can watch below, featuring snippets of the tracks ‘Pinball Wizard’, ‘There’s A Doctor’ and ‘Go To The Mirror’.

“Who better to deliver a tribute to the greatest rock opera of all times? Who? The D! That’s Who!! We’ve been working on this medley for 20 years. It’s finally ready to be unleashed. Crank it. It’s a humdinger. Enjoy,” the duo said in statement at the time.

The clip sees Gass playing an actual pinball machine during ‘Pinball Wizard’ while Black sings the cover.

The band released a 7 inch vinyl version of the medley, with all proceeds going to Everytown For Gun Safety , an organisation that touts the collective goals of finding ways to make communities safer by introducing solutions to help end gun violence.

Tenacious D announce 2023 European tour including London date

Tenacious D will close out their 2023 European summer tour with a headline date at The O2 in London.

After a year of being busy voicing Bowser for the new Super Mario Bros. film and just generally being wholesome , Jack Black will be returning to the UK and Europe next year alongside Kyle Gass for a Tenacious D tour.

The pair will cross the pond in summer 2023 to headline massive venues in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, before wrapping up with a huge date at London’s The O2 on June 16. Of course, that final show is The D’s first UK show since their 2019 tour, which included a two-night stint at Wembley.

Tenacious D have confirmed details for a European Tour in 2023.

Tickets for these shows go on sale from Friday 4 November at 10am . Information about pre sale tickets can also be found here .

Tenacious D a music duo who consist of actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass, will hit the European stage next Summer for a set of shows, including London’s 02 Arena on June 16.

This show will also mark the band’s first show since 2019, when Jack Black and Kyle Glass played a set of sold out gigs at Wembley Arena.

Earlier this Summer, Tenacious D released a medley of tracks from the Who’s album Tommy , which originally arrived in 1969.

Any profits from the sales of this album also went towards Everytown for Gun Safety.

A music video was also released by the band alongside the cover, which was directed by a long time collaborator of Tenacious D, Liam Lynch, who also directed the band’s film The Pick Of Destiny , released in 2006.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass, known as rock music icons Tenacious D, return to Europe in summer 2023 for a run of eight shows. The trek kicks off June 6th in Hamburg, Germany and includes stop in Berlin; Nickelsdorf, Austria; Milan, Italy; Zurich, Switzerland; Brussels, Belgium and Rotterdam, Netherlands before wrapping a headlining show at London’s O2 Arena on June 16th.

Tickets go on general sale Friday, 4th at 10 am via Ticketmaster .

Jack Black and Kyle Gass will return to Europe and the UK next year!

Comedy rock duo Tenacious D have announced a batch of European and UK dates for summer 2023. As well as two dates in Germany via Hamburg and Berlin, Jack Black and Kyle Gass will play shows in Austria, Italy, Switzlerand, Belgium and The Netherlands, before finishing up with a show in the UK at the O2 Arena in London.

A statement given alongside the tour announcement reads: "In 2022 and beyond Tenacious D continue their quest to spread the message of rock n roll across the world and firmly retain their title as one of the greatest rock bands in the world.  Ever."

Jack Black has recently been making headlines due to his casting as none other than Bowser in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie , which is due out next year. Jack's rousing take on the iconic gaming villain has already been a hit with fans after he gave a preview of what to expect at last month's New York Comic Con event.

The immense cast for The Super Mario Bros. Movie will also include Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Green as Donkey Kong, Michael Key as Toad, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Comedy Rock Gods Ride Again: Tenacious D Plot Summer 2022 Tour

Tenacious D will ride once more, hitting the road for a run of West Coast shows next summer.

The rock-comedy duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass will kick off the trek June 16 with a previously announced set at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, Colorado. From there, the group will play shows in Utah, Oregon, and Washington before wrapping June 24 at the Cal Coast Credit Union Amphitheater in San Diego.  

Tickets for most shows will go on sale this Friday, Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival will go on sale Dec. 9 at 10 .m. MT, while on-sale dates for Tenacious D’s June 19 show in Portland, Oregon, and June 21 gig in Woodinville, Washington, will be announced later (venues for both gigs are still being determined as well). Tenacious D’s summer 2022 gigs come after the band celebrated the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album earlier this year. Back in September, the group marked the occasion by launching an advent calendar that featured an array of goodies, from rare behind-the-scenes footage to recreations of the album’s skits and interviews with the album’s producers, the Dust Brothers. They also reissued Tenacious D as a “Super Power party Pack” with old demos and other rarities.  

“It’s been rad to do a little doff of our cap to our first album,” Black told Rolling Stone at the time. “It was such a huge moment in our lives. So we knew we had to mark the occasion. It’d be weird not to. When you say, was it fun for us to do it? It’s not really for us. It’s for the fans. It’s only for the fans!”

Tenacious D Announce 2022 Summer Tour

Tenacious D is set to hit the road for a North American summer stint in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut.

The comedy rock duo—comprised of Jack Black and Kyle Gass—will embark on a short, seven-date tour that kicks off on June 16 at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado. Their following stop is in Sandy, Utah and the duo will perform in cities in Oregon, Washington, and California for two shows in Palo Alto and San Diego. Tickets for the Telluride performance go on sale at 10 am MT on Thursday, December 9, and tickets for the other shows go on sale at 10 am local on Friday, December 10. All tickets can be purchased on Tenacious D’s website .

Their platinum-certified, 21-track debut, Tenacious D , was released in September 2001. This October, the duo released the “Super Power Party Pack” edition of the project, featuring a reissue of the band’s original 1995 demo cassette and 2002 Tribute EP.

Tenacious D announce European tour for June 2023

Jack Black and Kyle Gass, otherwise known as rock music icons  Tenacious D,  return to Europe this Summer for a run of shows that will include a stop at London’s The O2 on Friday, June 16 th , 2023.

The acclaimed musical duo returns to London to showcase their rock greatness to their army of loyal fans. This will be Tenacious D’s first show in the UK since 2019 when they played a run of sold-out shows that included two nights at Wembley Arena.

Their live experience is an energetic, riff-laden rock rollercoaster of fun that will take fans on a journey of their exhilarating catalogue of classic hits on this upcoming tour.  Tickets go on general sale Friday 4 th November at 10am via metropolismusic.com .

Tenacious D have had a busy few months with the release of a medley of songs from the rock musical, Tommy by The Who in support of Everytown For Gun Safety, as well as launching their own fibre bars in the US, Fibre D’Lish and doing what they love best, hitting the road for a string of sold-out US dates.

About Tenacious D

Tenacious D had a variety series on HBO that aired in 1999, they went on to release their platinum self-titled album in the fall of 2001.  The duo completed their first feature film together – ‘Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny’ – for New Line Cinema, which was released in November 2006 to critical acclaim followed by the album ‘Rize of the Fenix’ in 2012, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. In 2013 Black and Gass founded and hosted ‘Festival Supreme’, a music and comedy festival in Los Angeles, CA. In its first four years, ‘Festival Supreme’ boasted acts such as Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Patton Oswalt, Eric Andre, Amy Poehler, Workaholics, & many more.  In 2014 they won a Grammy in the category of Best Metal Performance for their cover of Ronnie James Dio’s ‘The Last In Line’.  On November 2, 2018, Tenacious D released ‘Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto’ – an animated film, with each frame hand-drawn by Black and every character voiced by Black and Gass. Alongside the film, the band also dropped the album ‘Post-Apocalypto’.  In September 2020 – with great excitement – Tenacious D released the final piece to the Post-Apocalypto universe: ‘The Graphic Novel’.

In 2022 and beyond Tenacious D will  continue their quest to spread the message of rock n roll across the world and firmly retain their title as one of the greatest rock bands in the world.  Ever.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass make up the Greatest Band in the World: Tenacious D. They started playing together in Kyle’s studio apartment on Cochran Ave in Los Angeles. No one could have ever dreamed of where the band’s genius would take them, but take them it did...

The band had a variety series on HBO that aired in 1999. Their self-titled album was released in the fall of 2001 with Epic Records and was quickly certified at Gold-selling status, and has since been certified Platinum. The duo completed their first feature film together— Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny— for New Line Cinema, which was released in November 2006. The album Rize of the Fenix followed in 2012, receiving a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Comedy Album. They won a GRAMMY® award two years later for Best Metal Performance for their cover of Ronnie James Dio’s “The Last In Line".

Tenacious D has since released Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto— an animated film, with each frame hand-drawn by Black and every character voiced by Black and Gass. Alongside the film, the band also dropped the album Post-Apocalypto . And in September 2020—with great excitement—Tenacious D released the final piece to the Post-Apocalypto universe: the graphic novel.

Bags must be an individual  CLEAR  plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bag no larger than 12"x6"x12" with a single compartment and/or a small  NON-CLEAR  clutch bag (4.5"x6.5"). Backpacks are not allowed. Patrons who arrive with a bag other than what is permitted may purchase a clear plastic tote for $10 at the gates.

Tenacious D Extend 2022 US Tour to Fall

10 new dates have been added to the trek

Good news for Tenacious D fans unable to catch their comedy rock stylings this summer: The duo of Jack Black  and  Kyle Gass have added a 10-date fall leg to their 2022 US tour.

Expanding upon their seven-date run in June, the new string of shows kicks off on September 9th in Wilmington, North Carolina, and includes stops in Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis. It will wrap with an appearance at the just-announced Louder Than Life Festival on September 22nd.

Puddles Pity Party remains the opening act for the June dates, with DJ Douggpound taking over in the fall. See Tenacious D’s full itinerary below. Tickets for the new shows go on sale to the general public this Friday (March 11th) via Ticketmaster , with pre-sales happening now using the code: CLASSICS.

The tour serves as a belated 20th anniversary celebration of Tenacious D’s 2001 self-titled debut. Black and Gass caught up with Heavy Consequence at the time of the anniversary to discuss the album, their friendship and working relationship with Dave Grohl, the importance of Bob Odenkirk and David Cross to their career, and much more — as seen in the video interview segments below.
