Introduction
Good aim is one of the indisputable fundamentals of a successful golf swing. That’s why every year we see numerous training aids at the PGA Show claiming to be the key to good aim. Most are nothing more than fancy alignment sticks, but the Tour Aim caught my eye as something more. After naming it one of the most interesting things I saw at the Show [read more HERE ], I got one to test for myself.
Set Up & Ease of Use
When I unboxed my Tour Aim, I found the device and four white alignment sticks. There’s a card with a QR code leading to instructional content, but I think most seasoned golfers will find this trainer intuitive .
The Tour Aim is a plastic rectangle that measures approximately 14.5″ X 3.5″ X 0.5″. Laid flat, it has five holes that run through it: one in the center, one on each edge, and a pair roughly 4.5″ from each side. Additionally, there are five holes in the “face” labeled Driver, Fairway, 5I, 8I, and Wedge. Stood on end, there are two holes at the bottom surrounding a semi-circular cutout and another hole centered above the cutout.
The included 45″ alignment sticks slide easily into all of the designated holes. Other alignment sticks that I own fit as well, though some were a tough fit on the hole above the putting cutout. Setting up the Tour Aim for any of its various uses takes only a few seconds .
I did view the instructional videos [find them HERE ] because I like to be thorough and wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any functionality. The videos are each two to five minutes long and feature instructor Kyle Morris. Kyle has good energy on camera, but, in my opinion, he’s selling the Tour Aim more than teaching you how to use it. This isn’t meant as an insult; it’s just a reflection of the fact that the Tour Aim requires little explanation . That said, perhaps I’m being jaded: newer golfers may benefit from a clear explanation of the Tour Aim’s functions.
Effectiveness
There are several uses for the Tour Aim, but the essential one is creating a good practice station . Slide an alignment stick through the center hole and point it at your target. From there, you can put sticks in any of the other four holes to align your feet and provide further reference for aiming your club face. Now you have a perfectly aligned station for hitting balls so you can focus on your swing.
This is better than using alignment sticks alone for several reasons . First, the centered stick removes any questions about where you’re aimed or where to set your foot line. As I discussed in my lesson on how to use alignment sticks [find it HERE ], this process normally requires some guess-and-check. The Tour Aim removes that. Additionally, the Tour Aim gets your alignment sticks perfectly parallel and keeps them there . Anyone who has used alignment sticks knows the frustration of accidentally nudging a stick (especially on mats) and needing to waste time fixing it. That’s now a thing of the past.
Sticking with the full swing, the Tour Aim has five holes for creating different swing planes. They range from 48 to 64 degrees, driver to wedge. Swinging under or over these sticks in your backswing or follow through can be a very useful way to reshape your swing. I also can’t overstate the value of the Tour Aim for helping you set up this drill consistently. Finally, I’ll note that this is one of the functions that works indoors and outdoors.
Finally, seemingly as a throwaway feature, the Tour Aim becomes one of the best putting trainers I’ve used. The functionality is very simple – set up two parallel sticks to stand the unit on edge and putt through the semi-circle. You can also have an elevated stick to check that your eye position is consistent (above).
The hole is 2.25″ wide , which is a bit more than half the size of a traditional golf hole . Depending on your putting skill, you may need to stay very close to the trainer to consistently roll the ball through. I found that I was mostly successful at three feet when I was paying attention, but the gap is small enough that you won’t make many if you’re daydreaming. As much as I love the Tour Aim for hitting balls, the putting trainer has become my favorite and most used feature .
The Tour Aim Golf training aid checks a lot of boxes for longevity. First, it’s small and light , meaning it can live in your golf bag. Second, it has a lot of uses , and all of them set up quickly . Finally, it’s versatile – you can use it on mats, on grass, indoors, and outdoors . This is a trainer you can, should, and will use every time you practice.
The Tour Aim retails for $95 with four alignment sticks or $75 without the alignment sticks. You can also add an alignment stick head cover for an additional $30. It’s offered with a 30 day money back guarantee and a one year warranty.
SAVE 15% off Tour Aim with code PLUGGEDIN15 HERE
Additionally, every Tour Aim comes with a free online lesson , valued at $129. While I’m a bit skeptical of both online lessons and “free” add-ons, I think this does add substantial value. Learning your best use of the Tour Aim’s swing plane feature unlocks a higher level of functionality for this device.
The value here is sky high . The base price of $75 is below average for a training aid, and this trainer’s versatility, effectiveness, and ease of use are well above average.
I think the Tour Aim is a must-own for golfers who are serious about practice and improvement. This trainer has tremendous versatility in every sense of the word: it works on all aspects of your game in any environment. Regardless of what part of your game you’re trying to tighten up, this device can help.

Matt, I’m eager to see you conduct a review on the Prosendr training aid. More importantly, thank you for providing us with exceptional unbiased reviews.
Thank you. I have looked at the Prosendr and am a little skeptical. It looks very similar to this trainer I reviewed several years ago: https://pluggedingolf.com/precision-impact-training-aid-review/
Hi Matt, I purchased the precision impact trainer that you reviewed about 18 months ago. Fortunately after only a few range sessions with I managed to seller it on with only a little loss as it was expensive. I found it very uncomfortable to wear and the Velcro that wrapped around your finger ls was very poorly designed. There has been other variations of this type of training aid over the years, so we all know this isn’t a new concept. It’s just nobody has managed to construct it in a comfortable and usable way. That is until the pro sender came out. Being from the UK it worked out expensive what with shipping and import taxes. However it had been worth every penny. The build quality is first class, and finally they have made a wearable training aid that is actually comfortable to wear. This really is a game changer which actually is two training aids in one as there is the addition of the ball which helps keep your arms connected throughout the swing. This is basically based on the successful Tour striker ball training aid. For me the best thing about this product is that it helps keep your right hand in extension into impact then again at the end of your follow through. Yes this product actually works. After watching PGA Tours Pros on the range for years now. When you tend to see a few of them with a training aid and then see them still using it months and even years later. That is a good indication that what ever it is they are using is helping them and they are the best balls strikers in the world. So if it’s good enough for them there is a good chance it will be help us recreational Golfers. Matt keep up the good reviews,. You are well respected over here in the UK 👍
Hi Matt, does it work for left handed golfers?

Tour Aim Review: The Swiss Army of Practice Tools
One of the most important aspects to becoming a consistent golfer is alignment.
It’s a fundamental part of the game, but something that so many golfers overlook when it comes to the golf swing.
Whenever my ball striking is off, the first thing I evaluate is my alignment . I’ve learned this from many coaches over the years because alignment is crucial to setting the rest of your swing up for success. You can do everything right, but if your aim is off, you’re not going to hit the type of shots you want.
If you go to the driving range on most days, chances are you won’t see a ton of golfers with alignment sticks . And if they are using them, I doubt that most players aren’t using them the right way.
Most golfers kind of throw them down, give a quick glance, and hope they’re aligned at the target. But a new training aid called the Tour Aim Golf system can finally help you get proper alignment in your game. Plus, it works for more than just full swing shots, too.
Keep reading to learn more about Tour Aim and see how it can make every practice session 10X more effective.
Tour Aim Golf Review
Key takeaways .
- Tour Aim 2.0 makes it easy to use alignment sticks on the driving range, short game area, and putting green.
- This small, portable device works with 1-4 alignment rods (which you can buy together or use your own) for all sorts of drills.
- The device easily fits in your golf bag, so you can use it during every practice session.
This product is not your ordinary set of alignment sticks. Instead, it’s the “Swiss Army knife” of alignment tools that will help make each practice session much more effective.
The device is a small solid wood block where there are holes drilled that allow an alignment stick into specific spots. There are several holes in the block to help you for any type of practice. Its goal is to give you the true intended target line.
As you can see from the images below, the device works on the range, chipping green, and even on the putting green. Whatever your goal is in terms of aim during practice, this device can help.
For example, most players place alignment sticks on the ground for their feet alignment. But with this device, you can make sure your feet are square to the target, plus, make sure the clubface is also square. This true target aim will give you more confidence over every shot.
This YouTube video does a good job of showing where to place the Tour Aim so you don’t accidentally hit it on the follow through.
Swing Plane Feature
What separates the Tour Aim from a set of alignment sticks is the ability to also work on your swing plane . You can insert sticks directly into the device to help you create more lag in your swing. The block rests on the ground and the stick comes out diagonally to help you create a more shallow plane.
If you’re the type of golfer who struggles with coming over the top, this device can do wonders for your swing. This YouTube video does a good job illustrating the proper setup for improving your swing plane.
Once it’s set up, make some practice swings without hitting a golf ball. As you get more comfortable with a more shallow swing, you can get closer to the device and hit golf shots with it. You can also add a stick on the outside of the device so you have one for plane and one for alignment.
Short Game Features
Lastly, the Tour Aim Golf is not only great for your full swing but short game and putting too, unlike other training aids . You can insert the sticks into certain holes that are closer together for a smaller hitting area when chipping to new targets.
Plus, you can use it on the practice green, as you can actually putt through the device. This will make sure your putting alignment is correct and that you’re getting the ball started on the correct line. Never worry about aiming right or left of your mark again!

Free Golf Lesson
If you buy Tour Aim 2.0 directly from their website, you’ll also get a free golf lesson from The Golf Room Everywhere. This is a $139 value and a great way to get some tips from top pros to learn how to improve certain areas of your golf swing.
FAQs About Tour Aim
Do you have additional questions about the Tour Aim Golf system? If so, check out our answers below to help you master your aim at the driving range or the course.
Are alignment sticks worth it?
Yes, they’re one of the cheapest and best investments you can make in your game. Not only will they help with alignment but all sorts of other drills.
And when you use Tour Aim with alignment sticks, it makes your practice even more efficient.
What is the proper way to aim in golf? How do you aim when hitting a golf ball?
Step one is always picking a target.
While you do this subconsciously on the golf course, too many players skip this step on the driving range. Or, pick far too general of a target, which makes aiming nearly impossible.
Once you have a target, the first thing you need to do is line up the clubface to the target.
This is typically done by finding an intermediary target between you and the target, about a foot in front of the ball. By picking something like a broken tee or tree branch in front of you, it’s much easier to align the face to that spot than something that’s hundreds of yards away.
Once the face is square, then you build your stance around the face. The most important thing is to make sure your shoulders are square to the target. Feet aren’t as important, as some golfers prefer to have a slightly open or closed stance .
But if your clubface and shoulders are square to the target, it will get you into a great starting position. This neutral setup will help you with a better takeaway and hopefully, a better backswing plus downswing.
Why do I always aim right in golf?
If you aim right on a lot of swings, don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’ve played golf for more than two decades, and I can without a doubt that right-handed golfers aiming right is by far the most common mistake I see.
A 2008 Golf Digest article found the same mistake with most amateur golfers.
As they said, “Most right-handed amateurs aim too far to the right. Then, when they swing through, they come across their bodies to get the ball on line, which aggravates their slices, among other problems. Also, if you align your body to the right, you aim the clubface right, too.”
So, why do so many players aim right… then pull it back left (aka, make the over the top move)?
It’s usually from one of two issues:
- Left eye dominance
- Improper club face alignment
The first reason is, if you’re left-eye dominant, it’s easy to unintentionally set up slightly right. This isn’t something you can necessarily control, but something to be aware of. I have very poor vision in my right eye, so I have to be very cognizant of accidentally aiming right.
The other reason and what I choose to focus on is clubface alignment. Too many golfers build their stance then set the club down. But as discussed earlier, the first thing to do when walking up to the golf ball is to aim the face of the club.
Once the face is square to your target, then build your stance around it. This should help in ensuring you don’t aim right of the target.
Do other alignment sticks work with Tour Aim?
Yes, other brands of alignment rods work with this golf training aid.
Any 5/16 diameter golf alignment stick will work, but make sure to double-check. When you buy from the company directly, you have the option to add four matching sticks.
How do you line up a target in golf?
There are two ways to pick targets in golf.
- Target zone
- Specific target
It depends on your personality type and how you like to shape shots.
For example, some people like to pick a really small target on tee shots and approach shots. This gives them certainty on what they’re aiming for and some golfers love a small target.
While other golfers prefer to have a zone. Instead of picking one tree in the distance, they will likely pick two trees and try to get the ball between them, like a field goal post.
There’s no one way to do this, as everyone has a different learning style. Try out both alignment systems to see which one makes most sense for your personality.
My Experience
I’m very impressed with how easy it is to use Tour Aim for better alignment. What’s great about it is that it’s so small, it fits in your bag with ease – which can’t be said with most training aids.
Since most golfers carry alignment sticks in their bag already, it’s easy to set this up in practice to dial in your aim. I also love how it can help with more just than aim. It makes it easy when doing certain swing plane drills to make sure you’re not coming over the top (which happens to a majority of players).
It’s also very easy to use on the putting green, too. Not main golf gadgets work with all areas of your game and fit in your bag, but this one does!
Final Thoughts
Alignment is one of the most important parts of grooving a consistent golf swing. If your alignment is off, it can lead to all kind of swing issues, including:
- Bad timing
- Lower accuracy
- Loss of distance
- Incorrect swing path
- Incorrect swing plane
- Inside or outside takeaway
And a lot more potential problems.
Before changing anything in your swing, always check your true target alignment first to dial in your path and get back to hitting it well.
By using Tour Aim in practice, you can make sure your alignment is never the issue. Plus, this awesome training aid makes it easy to improve aim in your short shots and putting too.
Don’t settle for a normal alignment stick when you can make each practice session 10X more effective. The Tour Aim with our best practice drills will lead to lower scores in no time!

Tour Aim Golf Review
When you purchase through links on our site, we may earn a teeny-tiny 🤏 affiliate commission.
Tour Aim’s new 2.0 model will help improve any golfer’s game – from Tour Pro to 20 handicap. If you’ve read any of my previous reviews or how-to’s, you know how much I preach target alignment.
Proper target alignment and aim is the first step in the golf swing. If you are not properly aligned to your target, your golf shot is doomed before you even swing.
[amazon box = “B09VY64M3X” template=”horizontal” rating=”5″ description_items=”3″ button_detail=”https://bit.ly/3Hws9sE” button_detail_text=”Buy on Tour Aim” button_text=”Buy on Amazon”]
Starting with the tee shot on the first hole and ending with the final putt on hole number eighteen, Tour Aim and its golf swing tools provide comprehensive support.
There is no other training aid on the market that can help with every shot in the bag like Tour Aim does.
Keep reading to see how TourAim blows other golf swing tools out of the water…
TourAim 2.0 Design
The ingenious design of the Tour Aim device enables this aid to be used for putting, chipping, and full-swing alignment training, and works for both right-handed and left-handed golfers.
Furthermore, the Tour Aim unit can be used on any surface — grass, astroturf, carpeting, etc.
Tour Aim Assembly
Assembling the Tour Aim alignment aid for use is as easy as 1-2-3:
- With the board parallel to the ground and the logo pointing skyward, slide any alignment stick through the hole at each edge of the bottom of the board.
- Then slide the third alignment stick through the hole in center arch of the ‘mouse hole cutout’ in the middle of the board.
- Lay the assembly on the ground with the middle stick in the forward position pointing at the target, and the two parallel guide sticks in the rear position.
In this configuration your aim and alignment will be dialed in on the first practice ball.
Chipping and Pitching Practice
For chipping and pitching practice, the two parallel guide sticks in the rear position will be moved inward closer together from the edges, now situated adjacent to the arch cutout.
The middle stick remains in the forward position pointing toward the target.
With the use of a fourth alignment stick, the Tour Aim alignment board can also be used as a guide for proper full-swing takeaway and follow-through paths.
The new Tour Aim 2.0 model has 5 swing plane features for more swing plane adjustability.
Tour Aim for Putting
Your putting aim and putting stroke can also be improved by use of the Tour Aim.
Here’s how:
- With the board perpendicular to the ground, slide one alignment stick through the closest hole on either side of the arch cutout at the bottom of the board.
- Then slide the third alignment stick through the hole above the center arch cutout in the middle of the board.
Your putting will improve immediately as this will get everything square to the target and you’ll be training your eyes and brain to see down the intended target line.

Product Description
Great alignment and aim are the start of great golf. Tour Aim was designed and produced by Tour Aim’s founder and CEO, Noah Wolf. Noah could only getaway during the week to squeeze in some range time and had terrible range habits. He found using swing aids and alignment sticks cumbersome to use and he wasn’t sure how they were supposed to help him align and aim. After hitting ball after ball, not paying attention to alignment and aim, some bad swing habits developed. These habits translated to high scores and lots of lost balls on the golf course. With every aspect of the golf swing starting with proper alignment and aim, Noah quickly saw the benefits of using Tour Aim as an effective practice tool. As a result, Noah’s handicap dropped from 11 to 6 in three months. With these results, feedback from hundreds of golfers, and teaching pros, Noah brought Tour Aim to the market. Now hundreds of teaching pros and amateurs around the world are using Tour Aim to improve their games and their student's games. Proper target alignment and aim is the first step in the golf swing. If you are not properly aligned to your target your golf shot is doomed before you even swing.

Tour Aim with 3 Alignment Stick
We’ve all seen how poor alignment at address can lead to poor shots. That’s why savvy golfers lay clubs, or thin rods, on the ground during practice sessions. The multidimensional Tour Aim looks simple enough but takes the concept to new heights. The hard-plastic holds standard-size, fiberglass alignment sticks in various angles and directions. The result? More productive, efficient practice time. During full or partial swings, players get instant feedback for body position and alignment, clubhead aim, even an indicator for swing plane. While putting, golfers can see their feet-and-shoulder alignment, aim, stroke path and clubface angle at impact
