Event Details

Icon, pioneer, and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee - Alice Cooper has achieved so much in his lengthy career.  But most importantly, Alice Cooper remains one the greatest rock shows on the planet.

Returning to the UK for the first time since 2022, in October , Alice and his award-winning band are heading to arenas in Glasgow (14th), Birmingham (16th), Manchester (17th), Leeds (18th) and, for the first time in many years, more up close and in your face shows at London’s Eventim Apollo (20th + 21st) .

The Too Close For Comfort tour brings fans closer than ever to Alice with giant video screens blending the live action with pre-recorded scenes to delve deeper into Alice’s world.

Expect spectacle - snakes, guillotines, monsters and more - wreaking havoc on stage nightly. Classics like “Under My Wheels,” “I’m Eighteen,” “Schools Out,” “Poison,” “Billion Dollar Babies,” and “No More Mr Nice Guy” are staples and there are surprises every night, effortlessly drawn from one the greatest catalogues in rock and roll.

Fresh from the success of his latest album ‘Road,’ a concept album about the thrills and spills of touring, Alice is back, accompanied as always by his long-running live band of Ryan Roxie (guitar), Chuck Garric (bass), Tommy Henrikson (guitar), Glen Sobel (drums), and Nita Strauss (guitar).

“For ‘ Road’ , I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs,” says Alice . “I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”

Primal Scream , one of Britain’s best-loved rock bands, will join Alice for the tour, in all cities except London.  The Glasgow band have been on an odyssey, making jangly guitar pop to brash rock n roll, incorporating acid house and psychedelia into unique records and live experiences.  Frontman Bobby Gillespie cites Alice’s shocking appearances on 1970s Top of the Pops as a formative influence.

In London, legendary Sex Pistols guitarist and songwriter Glen Matlock will be Alice’s special guest. And on all dates, up and coming acclaimed punks The Meffs will support.

Alice Cooper in Concert

Rock icon Alice Cooper is teaming up with Grammy-winning hard rock band Halestorm for a co-headline amphitheater tour across North America in the summer of 2019. The 19-city tour will kick off July 17 in Allentown, PA at the PPL Center and make stops in Detroit, Chicago, Houston, and more before ending August 16 in Camden, NJ at the BB&T Pavilion.

Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famer Cooper brings an all new show and very different look than recent tours. Dubbed as "Ol' Black Eyes Is Back," new music is expected in time for the tour, produced by his longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin. He produced 2017's acclaimed Paranormal album, featuring friends like ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, U2's Larry Mullen Jr, and Deep Purple's Roger Glover, as well as original Alice Cooper band members Neal Smith, Dennis Dunaway and Michael Bruce. Cooper's most recent release was in 2018 with the live album A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris. In addition to recording and touring both on his own and with the Hollywood Vampires (with pals Joe Perry and Johnny Depp), Cooper continues his nightly syndicated radio show "Nights With Alice Cooper," heard worldwide on over 100 radio stations.

Alice Cooper was amazing. I've waited over 20 years to see him. When the time is right again, I will do everything I can to see him again.

Fabulous concert but dissapointed last minute cancel

I really enjoyed Alice Cooper great concert but was a little disappointed on the last minute cancel for Rob Zombie was really looking foward to it!

Zombie was sick , but Alice cooper was good in Vegas

Alice Cooper Rocked, Rob Zombie a no show

When your 16 year old daughter has an appreciation for great music and asks you if you would take her to see both Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie there is only one answer; YES. Alice Cooper is a legend and put on a fantastic show. As a drummer, I felt that the drum mix could have been better. It was almost as if the ambient/ overhead mics on the kit were not working. Very hard to hear Glen's cymbal work as it was being drowned out by the massive sound of the kick drums and a three guitar band. My daughter was bit bummed that Rob had to cancel at the last minute and that we were informed while waiting for the doors to open. These things happen. People get sick. I do feel, however, that people should be compensated/ refunded appropriately for only seeing 1/2 of the show... Which started 40-45 min late. There were people who purchased expensive seats, meet and greets (w/ Rob), expensive Vegas parking, and even airfare to come to Las Vegas for this show and were told "if you don't go to the show you will get a full refund. But, if you do go to the show, there are no refunds". When you spend $1000 on airfare, $ 400 on a hotel, $300 on tickets, $75 to park, and $54 for a drink and a bottled water while waiting for the doors to open, you are pretty much committed to the cause and these promoters know it.

first Rob zombie did not play so we should get half our money back, and Alice started 45 minutes late. I will never go back to planet Hollywood and that was the last concert I will go to!

Alice rules!!!

Rob Zombie cancelled. Alice played an hour and a half and was truly amazing!!!

The Good and The Bad

Alice Cooper put on a great show!! First time I ever seen him live. However, Rob Zombie canceling his show was a total let down. I did not appreciate Ticketmaster messaging me 1 hour before the show to let me know he cancelled his last show. This is the second show that has been cancelled and postponed this month for me. I will be reconsidering traveling for future venues because too many performers are canceling and postponing shows now.

Im from tijuana long time waiting to see rob and alice no rob but alice great show

Alice is great......Rob was a no show.

Alice Cooper was awesome!!! I wondered why everyone was getting up and leaving as soon as he finished though. I thought, "This whole crowd can't dislike Rob Zombie THAT much, can they?"I check my phone to see if there was some sort of announcement that I missed. Sure enough, there was an email announcing that Rob had laryngitis and therefore no voice, which is understandable, things happen, (and I've seen Rob try to perform with a compromised voice before, ironically, also on a co-headlining tour with Alice Cooper, I don't need to see him do that again). It also said that Alice would still be performing a full set as planned, but refunds would be available for those who decided not to go do to the change. Which is also understandable. However, I received this email FOUR MINUTES before the doors were set to open. How is anyone supposed to make a decision like that with only four minutes notice? Especially those, such as myself, who may have traveled considerable distances to see the show?

Alice Cooper was great

Unfortunately Rob Zombie had to cancel so I can’t give a 5 star review. Alice Cooper alone was 5 stars though.

ROCKFLESH

Live Review : Alice Cooper + The Cult + Creeper @ AO Arena, Manchester on May 27th 2022

Initially, it seems that  Creeper  have the odds well and truly stacked against them. There are barely a thousand people inside this gigantic arena for their 7.00 PM start and the seating set-up is reminiscent of those cringe-worthy times at school that your mates' band played assembly. Additionally, a wholly unscientific mid-set survey, conducted by the band, shows that the vast majority of people present don't have a Scooby who they are. However, Creeper  have two secret weapons. The first is Will Gould, who as a frontman oozes charisma and charm. His alluring magnetism quickly wins over those who are in the room and within a couple of songs he has captivated the crowd that was very much not his.

The second card up   their   sleeves is the songs. Their teeny 25-minute set only contains five tracks but boy what ditties they are. ‘ Cyanide’, ‘Thorns of Love’, ‘Down Below’, ‘Midnight’  and ‘ Annabel’  are all designed with arenas in mind. They contain hooks to die for and choruses you could have filmed the new Top Gun movie on. Tonight they majestically prowl around the vast room, their infectious refrains burrowing into everybody's minds. If you close your eyes and let the music sweep you away,  Creeper  are headlining the place and 20,000 leather jacket clad disciples are chanting in unison “God can't save us”. From the way that they handle themselves tonight, we aren't that far away from that becoming a reality.

Creeper at the AO Arena in Manchester on May 27th 2022 ©Johann

I had expected to come here to bury  The Cult  and not to praise them. However as inexplicable as it sounds they turn out to provide one of the most enjoyable hour or so of unashamed back to the wall rock 'n' roll that I witnessed for a good while. Whilst this is been advertised as a co-headline tour,  The Cult  are more than aware that this is not their crowd. They compensate for that by set wise staying firmly within the short five-year timeframe, between 1984 and 1989, where they were the biggest rock band in town. It may seem blindingly obvious, but god do they have a back catalogue to die for. Halfway through the set, they kick into a magnificent seven song streak. Starting with ‘ L’il Devil’  (one of two of the greatest  AC/DC  tracks not written by  AC/DC ) and ending with ‘ Love Removal Machine’ , it contains in ‘ Firewoman’ , ‘ Rain’ , ‘ Revolution’  and ‘ She Sell’s Sanctuary’,  some of the finest rock songs ever made.'

In the past,  The Cult  have been guilty of phoning in their performances, but not tonight. They are fully on fire and Billy Duffy acts like the rock god that he is. He may not get the plaudits that are afforded to say Slash or the late lamented Eddie Van Halen. But as he lays down a riff to ‘ Wildflower’  (the other greatest AC/DC track not written by  AC/DC ) he proves he is indeed master of the axe. It may be because this is a hometown show and his beloved (and mine) Man City have recently been crowned premiership champions, but Billy seems to be having a whale of a time. Even Ian Astbury, whose default position is to be sullen and distant, goes to great pains this evening to connect with the audience. He points out people he recognises in the crowd and encourages those stuck in regimented lines to rise up against the security keeping them there. I would go as far as say I had written off  The Cult as a source of pure entertainment, but tonight they are nothing short of majestic. Mr Astbury's departing line is to promise a new album and more shows, if they are anything like tonight I'll be there in spades.

If the truth be told,  Alice Cooper’s  Broadway-Esque escapades are about as far from  The Cult’s  high octane rock 'n' roll as you are gonna get. This is a show full of razzmatazz, macabre theatre and more puppetry than you can shake a stick at. It is precision-engineered to entertain, every track is a high production number designed to enthral both eyes and the ears. It is as slick as it is theatrical and whilst it is all beautifully choreographed it does, to begin with, feel a tad soulless. Initially, I find myself craving improvisation and spontaneity, as everything comes across as so stage-managed and rehearsed. It feels more like being at a West End production than witnessing a low down and dirty rock 'n' roll show.

However, I concede it is wrong to criticise something for being what it intrinsically is. Everyone here tonight knows what they going to get, and boy does  Alice Cooper  deliver. I bottle my cynicism and instead revel in watching the joy in people's faces as they lustfully sing along to ‘ No More Mr Nice Guy’ , ‘ Under My Wheels’ , ‘ Poison’  and ‘ I'm Eighteen’  (though there is some irony in the fact that the vast majority of people here tonight are a long way from that age!).

Alice Cooper at the AO Arena in Manchester on May 27th 2022 ©Jo

For all my reservations, you cannot help but enjoy the spectacle. It is all gloriously over-the-top set-piece after gloriously over-the-top the set-piece and all the expected paraphernalia are in place. Mr Cooper has probably had his head sliced off by a guillotine every night for the last 40 years but it still comes across as both shocking and thrilling.

My learning from the whole thing is that you need to lean into the pomposity of the occasion. This isn't rock 'n' roll anymore, this is gloriously extravagant vaudeville and if you accept that, I can't think of many better ways of spending the evening.

Writer : Stewart Lucas

I just love Metal. I love it all. The bombastity of symphonic, the brutality of death, the rousing choruses of power, the nihilistic evil of black, the pounding atmospherics of doom, the whirling time changes of prog, the faithful familiarity of trad, the other worldlyness of post, the sheer unrefined power of thrash. I love it all!

Last year, Alice, 76, released his 22nd studio album Road, a concept album about the thrills and spills of touring. During the Too Close For Comfort tour, Alice will once-again be joined by his live band including guitarist Ryan Roxie, bassist Chuck Garric, guitarist Tommy Henrikson, drummer Glen Sobel and guitarist Nita Strauss.

“For ‘Road’, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs,” says Alice of his recent album and the upcoming tour.. “I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”

Last year, Alice stunned Manchester shoppers as he visited the Northern Quarter ahead of a show at the AO Arena with the band Hollywood Vampires, which also features actor Johnny Depp and Aerosmith's Joe Perry.

The singer stopped off at shopping boutique Affleck’s Palace where he posed for photos with shoppers and also bought a t-shirt for Depp from the Modern Streets store.

“It was a little unexpected to be honest,” owner Jack Parkinson told the M.E.N last year. “He was with his partner, and he has an official photographer/assistant. I kind of recognised him, but at the same time, without all the make-up and showmanship on stage, I was like ‘is that definitely him?’”

Tickets for Alice Cooper's show at AO Arena on October 17 will be available from Friday (February 23) at 10am. Tickets here.

Alice Cooper Live at Manchester Arena

Alice Cooper, Music, Live Event, TotalNtertainment, Stephen Farrell, Manchester

Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock.    Drawing equally from horror movies, vaudeville, and garage rock, the group created a stage show that featured electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors. He continues to tour regularly, performing shows worldwide with the dark and horror-themed theatrics that he’s best known for.

With a schedule that includes six months each year on the road, Alice Cooper brings his own brand of rock psycho-drama to fans both old and new, enjoying it as much as the audience does. Known as the architect of shock-rock, Cooper (in both the original Alice Cooper band and as a solo artist) has rattled the cages and undermined the authority of generations of guardians of the status quo, continuing to surprise fans and exude danger at every turn, like a great horror movie, even in an era where CNN can present real life shocking images.

Alice’s solo career skyrocketed in the late 1970’s, with a succession of hit singles, including “You & Me,” and classic albums, including “Lace And Whiskey” and “From The Inside,” and bigger and even more elaborate concert tours.

In the ‘80’s Cooper explored different sounds, highlighted by the new wavish album “Flush The Fashion,”    the heavy metal “Constrictor” and “Raise Your Fist And Yell,” and then 1989’s    melodic hard rock album “Trash,” which featured the massive hit single “Poison” and became his biggest selling album and single worldwide.    During this period Alice also appeared in the horror films Monster Dog and John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, and recorded songs for the soundtracks to Roadie, Class of 1984, Friday the 13 Part VI:    Jason Lives and Wes Craven’s Shocker.

Cooper’s most memorable movie appearance was as himself in Wayne’s World in 1991.    He also played (fittingly) Freddy Krueger’s wicked step-father in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, and appeared on Gene Wilder’s TV series Something Wilder    as well as on That ‘70’s Show.    The 90’s also saw the release of the albums “Hey Stoopid,” “The Last Temptation,” and “Fistful of Alice,” a live album.

SNP leader quits as Scottish first minister

Who is alice cooper's wife all about sheryl goddard.

Alice Cooper and Sheryl Goddard have been married for nearly 50 years

Rockstar Alice Cooper 's facade may not hint that he's a family man, but he and his wife, Sheryl Goddard, have a love story for the ages.

Cooper and Goddard have been married for nearly 50 years. The pair wed in March 1976, just a few years after they fatefully met through their work, with Goddard having played a variety of roles in Cooper's stage show.

"It's almost hard to do the show without her," Cooper told Billboard in 2019, decades after the pair started working together. "It's almost like Burns and Allen; we're backstage putting makeup on, talking, laughing."

So, who is Alice Cooper's wife? Here is everything to know about Sheryl Goddard and her relationship with the rock signer.

She is a dancer

Goddard was once a self-described "classical snob," as she had trained in ballet in New York City.

"I knew I couldn't be a ballerina, but not because I didn't have potential," she told PEOPLE in 1978. "Ballet was extremely vicious, political and narrow-minded."

Despite training in classical dance, Goddard moved on to stylized dance and became a choreographer.

She met her husband on the stage

Goddard said she had never heard of Cooper until she accepted an invitation to audition for his show. She signed on for the role to pay the bills, as rock and roll was not her genre of choice at the time.

Goddard eventually joined Cooper on tour as a dancer for the Welcome to My Nightmare show in 1975. While on the road, they started as TV-watching pals. After a while, the pair began a romantic relationship and married soon afterward.

In the years since, their relationship has blossomed, both on- and offstage.

"We've both been in show business all our lives," Cooper told Billboard. "When we're onstage, she's not Sheryl, my wife. She's the character and I'm the character. We don't look at each other as husband and wife onstage. But the great thing is, afterwards, we're on tour. We're never apart. It's great."

She and Cooper share three children

The pair's eldest child, daughter Calico Cooper, was born on May 19, 1981. She followed in her parents' footsteps and is a multi-talented artist who sings, acts and directs. Calico even helped choreograph for her father's tour celebrating his 21st album, Brutal Planet . In 2015, she married Jed Williams, according to Hello! .

Alice and Goddard's second child, Dashiell "Dash" Cooper, was born on June 3, 1985. Dash is also a musician through his band CO-OP . He and his wife, Morgan Cooper, have three kids.

Sonora is the couple's youngest, born in 1992. Despite her siblings' involvement in the arts, Sonora has stayed out of the entertainment industry entirely, although it's unknown what she does for a living. She is married to Diego Diaz, and in 2020, Alice told Cleveland.com , "My daughter (Sonora) is going to have a baby in July."

She has helped keep Alice on the right path

For many years, Alice suffered from alcoholism, which took a toll on his marriage; Goddard even filed for divorce due to the strain in their relationship. However, she was always determined to get him back on the wagon, and the pair reconciled once the rockstar got sober.

"He was not going anywhere except down," Goddard once recalled to PEOPLE. "He was never really drunk, but he just couldn't function — he was like a living vegetable. It put a lot of strain on me because I had to sign the papers to commit him."

Alice spent time at New York State Hospital rehabilitation center in White Plains, N.Y. "He couldn't get out," Goddard said, "without my written consent."

She and Alice have a "life pact"

Alice and Goddard made headlines in 2019 for potentially having a "death pact." However, Cooper set the record straight about his marriage on social media.

"Sheryl and I do NOT have a death pact, we have a LIFE pack," he wrote on Instagram . "We love life so much. What I was meaning was that because we're almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we'd most likely be together at the time. But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact. And, besides, I'm booked through 2028, so …"

He clarified his comments further in an interview with Billboard .

"They like to sensationalize everything," the musician said. "They said, 'What happens if one of you dies?' and I said, 'Oh, that'll never happen. We've always talked about the fact we'll go together, in an airplane or ... If I walk down the street and get hit by lightning, she'll die too because of the fact she's right next to me.' The next thing you know, the paper comes out and it goes, 'Alice's Death Pact With Wife!' "

She and Alice are each other's home

After nearly 50 years of marriage, Alice and Goddard are often asked about the secret of their relationship. Alice said that being each other's home is the most important part.

When asked during a 2016 interview what has kept them strong over the last half-century, the rocker responded: "People ask me, they say, 'When you go on the road, it must be hard leaving home.' I go, 'I bring home with me.' Because really, a house is a house, but a home is who you are with in the house."
