Bangalore to Kolar

A day trip from Bangalore to Kolar, Karnataka

We took a day trip from Bangalore to Kolar district in Karnataka, India in 2017 . It was a cultural trip covering some of the oldest temples of India with amazing architecture . Because we had planned this trip especially for our elderly parents . And it turned out to be one of those beautiful road trips we keep doing in India . The advantage is that Kolar is located quiet near to Bangalore. And even nearer to the eastern part of Bangalore where we reside. So, it meant a very short trip for our parents. It was both easy and interesting for them.

Bangalore to Kolar

So, we visited the main town of Kolar district, the village of Avani and the Kotilingeshwara temple on the state highway while back to Bangalore. Most of these temples are very ancient and have unique architecture. As a result, they are declared as national heritage by the Archeological Survey of India and thus, they are protected monuments as well. Although there are a few other interesting things to do in Kolar district. So, here’s a list of things to do when in Kolar as per our experience.

Before this, we have done several weekend trips & day trips around Bangalore. Including a day in the royal city of Mysore , and weekend in  Ooty during the monsoons , an year end  with the clouds of Kodaikanal , a weekend seeing places in Coorg , a trip with extended family at Chikkamagaluru , A relaxing stay at The Peepal Tree Kabini , a unique experience staying in the eco lodge at B R Hills , a spontaneous day trip to Lepakshi , a weekend at Yercaud , a self driven trip spending 2 days at Pondicherry , another year end visiting iconic marvels of Mahabalipuram , a trip to Hampi , a vacation in Goa , Belur, a visit to the Halebidu Temple and many more. But none as short and spontaneous as this one. That is why perhaps many suggest – you should explore your neighborhood! You never know what gem it might be hiding.

Getting from Bangalore to Kolar

The drive from Bangalore to Kolar is quiet easy one. Once you hit the highway, there is hardly any traffic. And Kolar is located quiet close to Bangalore. Even more so to east Bangalore. That gives an advantage to people who stay close to this side of Bangalore like Whitefield, Kadugodi, K R Puram etc. If you are planning a day trip from Bangalore, Kolar is one of the perfect destinations. Be it trekking or picnic or cultural experience that you are seeking. Or let it be just a long drive. Kolar is not going to disappoint you, as is evident from the list of things to do in Kolar that we laid out for you here. For picnic near Kolar, Dodda Ayur aka Chhota Ladakh is an awesome spot.

As you hit the highway, drive towards Hoskote. There are a lot of restaurants on the way as you start approaching Hoskote. You can stop in one of them for breakfast. We crossed Hoskote on our way from Bangalore to Kolar. And then stopped at a Kamat Upchar hotel for breakfast. It is a simple outlet of the famous Kamat chain of restaurants that you find all over the highways around Bangalore. There are South Indian breakfast options available. And there is a beautiful landscaping around the hotel with beautiful flowers & trees around, a small children’s play area, ample parking space and clean restrooms.

After having our breakfast here, we proceeded further on our journey from Bangalore to Kolar. Soon, we arrived at Kolar. It was almost a 1.5 hours drive from our home to here. As we arrived at Kolar, we took a diversion from the highway into the town and proceeded towards our first destination – the Someshwara Temple.

Someshwara Temple

A day trip from Bangalore to Kolar would be incomplete without visiting the Someshwara Temple. The temple lies in the area of old fort of Kolar. The Chola Dynasty built this temple in around 11th century. And then the temple was later expanded by the Vijaynagara Empire and thus reflects a fine example of their architectural style. No wonder it reminded us of our trip to Hampi and the beautiful temples there, as we stepped inside Someshwara Temple. The temple has a beautiful architecture. It is particularly characterized by heavy pillars with beautiful carvings on them. There is a kalyan mandapa also inside the temple. Some of the carvings on the temples also resemble Thai, Chinese and European style of architecture. It is so different when compared to the architecture of other temples that we have visited in the past, including the shore temple in Mahabalipuram ,  the Lepakshi Temple ,  Halebidu temple , the Ranakpur Jain Temple  and some temples in the forts and palaces of Rajasthan like the Shiva Temple in Chittorgarh Fort .

We reached the Someshwara Temple early in the morning. It is primarily the temple of God Shiva. The temple was getting ready at this point of time for the morning prayers. We visited the premises, admiring the beautiful architecture of the temple and offered our prayers as well. Next, we walked to the Kolaramma temple which is situated almost besides the Someshwara Temple.

Kolaramma Temple

Another must visit when on a trip from Bangalore to Kolar is the Kolaramma Temple. As we stepped out of the Someshwara Temple, next we visited here. Another ancient temple, although smaller than the Someshwara temple, this one is dedicated to goddess Parvati, the wife of Shiva. Again, the temple premises are characterized by beautiful pillars and carvings. Although it is built around the same time as Someshwara temple. Yet it has it’s own characteristic architecture that gets evident as you take a round of the temple.

As, this temple is built by the Cholas.  In the premises of this same temple, you will also find the idol of Chelamma (The scorpion Goddess). It is strongly believed that if you offer prayers at this shrine, you will be guarded against Scorpion bites by this Goddess. Another very interesting fact to note about this temple is the hundi (well), which is put for donation collection. Although it looks small from the exteriors. Yet, there is a big base beneath it. Once you drop a coin, you can feel it travel down and make a ‘click’ sound as it lands over the vast collection of coins accumulated here over hundreds of years.

Anthara Gange

We planned to keep our Bangalore to Kolar trip as a cultural and heritage trip. So that our parents can enjoy it to the fullest. In the pursuit of the same, we decided that Anthara Gange will be our next stop on our Bangalore to Kolar trip. Anthata Gange is a sacred stream that pours through the mouth of a bull. It is located on a hill. Besides the Anthara Gange lies the KasiVishweshwara Temple, primarily dedicated to the God Shiva.  The phrase “Anthara Gange” means “Ganges from deep”. It is believed that the river Ganga gets underground in North India and emerges here in South India through the mouth of the bull. For the same reason, this place is also referred to as “Kasi of South India” or “Dakshin Kasi”.

Bangalore to Kolar

How to reach here

There are two ways to reach the hill. One is a motorable route while the other consists of a flight of numerous stairs. We choose the second one. As we slowly stepped onto the stairs and started our climb towards Anthara Gange. We noticed that both sides of the stairs are flanked by several different varieties of flora. And it seems that many different varieties of fauna also reside in the forest that stretches beyond these trees into the hills. Since, we heard many animals and birds from deep within the forest. Particularly peacocks. The climb up the hill is exhausting but very pleasant. However, to make it easy, you can take stops in between, like we did. You will find benches put at regular interval for people to rest.

Once you reach the temple, beware of monkeys. There are hundreds of monkeys in the temple premises. They are used to human presence. But still, well, they are monkeys. If you have any food items in your hands then they will come and snatch them. Otherwise, you will just find them hopping and jumping around. After we finished visiting the temple, on our way back to the road, we took a little divergence in the middle. A flight of stairs here lead to a small spot developed for site-seeing. It gives a nice view of the hills and forests around.

Trekking in Anthara Gange caves

The Anthara Gange and hills around it also make for a beautiful trekking spot. Group trekking is a frequent activity in this area along with night stay in camps. Since, the hill top gives very scenic views of seven different towns around. And the place is also full of many different varieties of flora, fauna and rocks of very interesting shapes. Although, we didn’t have any plans of trekking this time. As, we were accompanied with our parents and this was a day trip. Trekking and spending a night into the Anthara Gange caves sounds very interesting. Even more so after visiting the temple and looking at the kind of rocks and caves in the region. We will definitely plan a Bangalore to Kolar trip in near future dedicated to the trekking experience.

Ramalingeshwara group of temples in Avani

bangalore to kolar tourist places

After visiting the beautiful temples of the town of Kolar, next we headed to Avani on our Bangalore to Kolar trip. Avani is a small village in the Kolar district of Karnataka. And it is famous as the “Gaya of South India”. It hosts the Ramalingeshwara group of temples at the foothill of a small rocky hill. And as per the legends, Saint Valmiki, the author of Ramayana resided here in his cottage. And devi Sita also lived here after opting for exile. Her sons were also born here. And during the famous Ashwamedha Yagya, this is where Rama and his brothers took up a battle against his sons who had stopped the horse of the Yagya.

As a repentance for their action of battle against children, Rama and his brothers prayed here. They established “shivlingas” to pray for forgiveness of their sins. Around each shivlinga, one temple has been formed and named after the person who established it. So, you will find a group of temples here, each with a shivlinga established in it. Besides, there are temples of Lord Ganesha and Parvathi as well in the premises. Besides the temple, there is a pond. And up on the hill besides it, there is a temple of Sita. It is believed that childless couples come here for prayers and they are granted their wish.

More than anything else, I was super impressed by the beautiful architecture of the temple of Avani that immediately reminded me of the temple of Lepakshi . And the group of shrines inside the temple campus that reminds one of the panch ratha group of monuments in Mahabalipuram . There are many interesting details about the temple of Avani. Read more on the beautiful temple of Avani and it’s surroundings here in this post .

Update :  We recently did a road trip to Avani again. And made a vlog out of it, do check it out to have an arm chair tour of the temple of Avani

Kotilingeshwara Temple

After visiting the temples of Avani, we next proceeded to Kotilingeshwara temple on our Bangalore to Kolar trip. Koti means “ten million” and “linga” means the symbol of Shivling. The Kotilingeshwara temple has the biggest Shivling in the entire world. But apart from that, the temple aims at hosting ten million Shivlings. Big and small, in different sizes, these Shivlings are donated and established by the devotees. It’s a pleasure to see the sea of Shivlings. The temple premises have been further developed to host other deities, including all forms of Goddess Durga and a big idol of lord Hanumana.

Although it was a pleasure to visit the big courtyard of the temple where the Shivlings and other deities hold your attention. I found the temple little more commercialized as well as crowded. There is an entrance fee to the temple and there are huge queues to the main shrine. Which can get inconvenient for some visitors, particularly elderly and smaller children. Perhaps the reason being this temple is quiet famous in the area. And we also visited on a Monday, which is the day devoted to Lord Shiva. So, maybe other days are less crowded, just speculating. But as per the statistics, more than two lakh people visit here on the day of Mahashivratri.I can’t imagine how crowded it must be then.

Kotilingeshwara Temple Kolar

Kolar gold mines

Although we didn’t really go to the Kolar gold mines on our day trip from Bangalore to Kolar. But you can when you plan a trip. Kolar district was once famous in Karnataka for it’s gold mines. Although the mines are exhausted of gold now. But they still tell the tale of the prosperity of Kolar. The mines were fully operational at the time of Mysore kingdom. They even employed international workers to meet their needs. Overall, they are a sight worth a small visit when on one day trip from Bangalore to Kolar. Also, they are situated quiet close to the Kotilingeshwara temple. So, after visiting the temple, one can conveniently visit them.

There are a few other places to visit around Kolar that we didn’t go to. If you have more time at hand, you can visit Kurudumale Temple , Bethamalngala Lake and Bangaru Tirupati as well.

Tips on planning a day trip from Bangalore to Kolar

  • Visit the temples early in the morning as shoes are not allowed inside and the stone floors tend to get hot as the day advances.
  • Cloudy days and monsoon times in India will be preferable for the same reasons as above.
  • Most of the temples are open all through the day so you can plan your visit accordingly.
  • Network connectivity is good all through the district of Kolar. We heavily relied on google maps to show us the way from one spot to another.
  • There are plenty of food outlets around Hoskote and then on the highway between Kolar town and Avani. You can time your trip accordingly to plan your breakfast and lunch stops in some of these outlets.
  • If you start early in the morning you can avoid the city traffic in Bangalore. Thus, you will reach Kolar early on and can get back to Bangalore by 6-7pm.
  • Wear comfortable cotton cloths, although light ones. As it’s mostly hot or moderately pleasant weather here. Never cold.
  • When traveling with your kids and parents, do carry your travel medicine kit packed with their essential medicines and vitamins. Also, keep some of the kids friendly travel products like these handy which will make your day a breeze. Don’t forget your fully charged digital camera , other travel electronics, and general travel accessories for the day trip.
  • If I were to do this trip again, I will visit Kotilingeshwara temple first and then proceed to the others. As this temple will get crowded as the day proceeds.
  • There are restrooms and shops selling drinking water near almost all the temples. So, you will not a problem with either of the needs.
  • If feeling lost, ask locals for direction. Since the district is small, almost everyone knows the major landmarks in their region and can guide you easily.

Finally, have a wonderful trip!!

Just like Bali, Bangalore has some beautiful temples to show off. I still wonder how you plan your trips that they are always accommodating for everyone, both young and old. I really respect you for that. Visiting these temples should be a must for everyone especially the group of temples in Avani. And to think the trio wasn’t long yet you visited all these temples, you’re an amazing planner. Thumbs up!

Thank you so much Lydia!! I do love planning and it comes naturally to me. Maybe that is why I am able to accommodate everyone. Little kids enjoy anywhere, it just has to be something different from the monotonous. But it will become more challenging as the kid grows, to find the right destinations that interest us as well as them equally.

I must admit, I have never heard of Kolar.Quite an off beaten destination with abundance of culture and activities. Kotilingeshwara Temple and Kolar gold mines seems quite interesting.

Many haven’t heard of this place, although it is located so close to Bangalore, one of the biggest metropolitan in India

It was, in ancient inscriptions, known as Kuvalala, Kolala and Kolahalapura. Historical evidence says that Kolar was in existence from the 4th Century onwards. The Ganga dynasty originally hailed from this place which was the initial capital. Moreover, Kolar was also part of many other dynasties including Cholas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara. Moreover, it also has mentioned in the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Geographically, Kolar is surrounded by the Bengaluru Rural in the west, Chikkaballapura in the north, Andhra Pradesh state in the east and Tamil Nadu state in the south. And thanks to its proximity to Bengaluru , Kolar is an excellent weekend getaway with many tourist attractions. Here you have numerous places to visit which include the Kolaramma Temple, built by the Gangas and later renovated by the Cholas, Someshwara Temple built by the Cholas and expanded during the Vijayanagara period, the Koti Lingeshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which has a staggering collection of over 60 lakh Shiva Lingas. Apart from the temples, the beautiful hillocks overlooking the town of Kolar provide ideal trekking tracks for adventure enthusiasts.

This place is perhaps most synonymous with the yellow metal – gold, but then there is more to Kolar than just the yellow metal. The now-defunct Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) is believed to be the world’s deepest gold mines and one of the oldest as it has a history of mining since the 5th Century. And while you are exploring this city, don’t miss the chance to grab its reputed country blanket ( Kambli ) along the way.

Religious Places

  • Kolaramma Temple : The town's presiding deity is Goddess Kolaramma (another name for the eight-armed Goddess Durga). The temple dates back to the Ganga period and there is no shikara on top of this temple. In the 11th Century, the Cholas made several renovations and additions. The temple itself has beautifully carved statues and designs all done using the abundantly available granite stones. This temple is unique in many respects. The deity here is considered so powerful that Her idol is not placed for direct viewing for devotees but placed in a corner of the sanctum sanctorum. • Markandeshwara Temple, Vakkaleri: Vakkaleri is situated on the foothills of Markandeya Betta (hill), around 12 km from Kolar, is quite an ancient place. This place has earned significance because of copper-plate inscriptions of the Badami Chalukyan ruler Keertivarma of the 8th Century and are popularly called Vakkaleri Inscriptions. These inscriptions record the exploits and sing the praise of Keertivarma who conquered the nearby provinces. On top of the Markandeshwara Betta, behind Vakkaleri village, the Markandeshwara Temple is situated. It is built in the Vijayanagara style, and has a garbhagriha with two ardhamantapas. Legend has it that the great sage Markandeya who was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva meditated here. It was destined that he would die at a young age of 16. And when the anointed day came, Yama came to take him. But Markandeya who was worshipping the Shivalinga, held on to it tightly asking Lord Shiva's protection when Yama threw his whip and sprung his noose around Markandeya's neck. But the noose also mistakenly landed around the Shivalinga. Lord Shiva thus emerged and then defeated Yama. And pleased with Markandeya's devotion, Lord Shiva gifted the boon of Chiranjeevi (who has no death) to Markandeya. Even today, one can see a three-finger mark on the Shivalinga and a mark of the whip inside the well situated in the temple.

  • Kolar Gold Fields : Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) is around 30 km from Kolar and was at one time the deepest and most productive gold mine in the world. It is said that gold here has been mined from as early as 5th Century. The Champion Reef is believed to be one of the world's deepest and mined to a depth of 50 m. After a brief lull in the 1700s, the British reactivated mining in the 1880s. It is estimated that KGF has yielded around a whopping 800 tons of gold.
  • Markandeya Dam: This dam site is near Budikote where the Markandeya River, rising in the Vakkaleri hills and flowing eastwards, splits into two streams here. The village of Budikote is found on the confluence of the two streams of the river. At a higher level of the river at Ukkunda village, across two small hillocks a dam is built between 1936-1940, having a height of 30 metres and 750 metres length. The beautiful reservoir that has been formed is today a local tourist attraction which attracts numerous tourists. Even after 80 years since it was built, it still irrigates many farmlands of paddy and sugar cane fields.
  • Shivarapattana : Shivarapattana in Malur taluk has been attributed as "Shilpakashi" which it richly deserves. Shivarapatna is a small village where majority of the local population work on crafting idols mostly in stone and also in metal. Idols of Gods and Goddesses are hand chiseled here by local expert sculptors for various temples in Karnataka as well as other states. In 2010, the Government of Karnataka, gave Shivarapattana the status of ‘Paramparika Shilpakala Grama’ (Heritage Sculpture Village). The sculptors of Shivarapattana are capable of creating any type of traditional sculptures of any style be it be it the Nolamba, Ganga, Chola, Hoysala or Vijayanagara styles. And no wonder, there is good demand for their work in other states of India apart from Karnataka. In fact, sculpture work in stone/ metal are excellent souvenirs items to buy from Shivarapattana.

Day Trip from Bangalore to Kotilingeshwara temple

August 8, 2015

In a small village of Kammansanda once a saint had the vision to build a temple with one crore Shiva Lingas and he installed the first Shiva Linga on 10 Oct 1980 which was followed by devotees installing Shiva Lingas from various parts of the world. Today the Kotilingeshwara Temple  is home to Ninety Lakh Shiva Lingas and is also the home to the tallest Shiva Linga in the entire world which stands at 108 feet tall.

Most of our vacations during my childhood were planned to places of pilgrimage, and my father being an ardent Shiva devotee, we ended up visiting numerous Shiva temples all across the country. By now I have lost the count of the number of Shiva temples that I have visited over the years.

But luckily most of these temples have always been in exotic locations. I love to visit temples, marveling at their beauty and the architecture, and admiring the craftsmanship and the interesting stories that are associated with each one of them. One fine weekend when we had nothing to do we planned a day trip from Bangalore to Kotilingeshwara temple.

Day Trip from Bangalore to Kotilingeshwara temple 1

We started around 10:30 am from Bangalore via Hoodi circle towards Kolar Gold Fields. We passed by hills strewn with huge boulders which were a stark contrast to the blooming marigold fields while on our way to the temple. The roads were nice and we relied on Google Maps for directions. We were at the temple in an hour or so.

A post shared by Swati & Sam | Travel Bloggers (@thetalesofatraveler) on Aug 8, 2015 at 9:12am PDT

As we reached the temple, we found very few cars parked there and the temple was not that crowded as we thought it would be. We bought our tickets as we entered the temple. The temple houses millions of Shiva Lingas of various sizes and designs placed all over the temple. The walls of the temple are painted in different colours to give a surreal effect to the entire place. Unlike other South Indian temples, this temple is quite a peaceful place to be, with no guides running behind you or a long queue to enter the temple premises.

A post shared by Swati & Sam | Travel Bloggers (@thetalesofatraveler) on Jul 26, 2015 at 5:58am PDT

There was already a small queue to visit the first temple which is dedicated to Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar. After offering our prayers in the first temple, we proceeded towards the main temple passing by a sacred tree covered with yellow thread for good luck and wishes. By the time we reached the main temple, afternoon Aarti was about to begin. The Aarti was accompanied by the beating of drums and then the priest distributed prasad and offered Aarti to all of us.

The exit from the main temple leads to a courtyard which houses temples of many other gods like Lord Venkataramani Swamy , Goddess Annapoorneshwari , Lord Panduranga Swamy , Lord Panchamukha Ganapathy , Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Goddess Sita , Lord Anjaneya , Goddess Kannika Parameshwari and Goddess Karumaari Amma. This courtyard is also a host to the tallest Shiva Linga in the world measuring a whopping 33 metres.

Kotilingeshwara temple

As per the project, the target is to install one crore of Shiva Lingas hence the name is ” Kotilingewasara Temple”. But as of now, only 9 Million Shiva Lingas has been installed. Shiva Linga installation can be done by devotees at a starting price of INR 6,000/-. Devotees have a choice of installing Shiva Linga’s of different sizes and also can have their name engraved near it. We saw few families offering prayers to the Shiva Linga they or their families had installed.

Once you enter in every temple priest will tell to pay money and its compulsory if we don’t pay they will tell directly don’t come inside temple next time.

It is a historic town, once known as the sacred Avantika-Kshetra, famous for its religious temples and spots.

The city was initially known for its gold as well. It was once called the 'Golden City of India' because of the Kolar Gold Fields, which was one of the largest Gold Mines in the world until it was shut down in 2001. It is also one of the highest silk-producing districts in Karnataka.

The worship of Lord Shiva may be witnessed at the Someshwara Temple in Kolar. It is a magnificent temple that dates back to the 14th century and has significant national significance. The towering, intricate edifice made of brick and stucco that is put over the entrance of the temple is a particularly notable example of the Dravidian style of architecture that can be seen in this area.

This Someswar temple is believed to be a grander and more intricate counterpart of the one in Bengaluru. The temple has intricate and excellent carvings, and it is adorned with ornate mouldings that depict significant animals and symbols. The best time to visit this place is between 6 am to 12 pm and between 5 pm to 9 pm.

The Someshwara temple can be seen in the middle of Kolar town, which is situated around 72 kilometres away from Bangalore. Kotilingeshwara Temple

7 Kolar tourist places to include in your itinerary

The Kotilingeshwara temple can be found in the Kolar district, which is in the state of Karnataka. It is well-known for housing a 108-foot-tall Shiva lingam, which makes it one of the tallest structures in the world. In addition to that, a Nandi (Bull), which stands at a height of 35 feet and is considered to represent Shiva’s Vahana, has been displayed here.

It has developed into a hub for bhakti, which is a kind of devotion dedicated to Shiva. At this particular temple, there are approximately five hundred thousand shiva lingam installed. In addition to a rest house, a wedding area, a contemplation hall, and an exhibition centre, the Kotilingeshwara Temple is also on the premises.

From the Majestic in Bangalore, it takes most people around two hours to go there by car. The distance is perhaps in the neighbourhood of one hundred kilometres. There is a ban on wearing western clothing such as jeans, T-shirts, and shirts. However, women should dress modestly and cover their ankles by wearing long skirts, saris, or salwars with dupattas. Dhoti or trousers paired with a shirt is the dress code for men.

Kotilingeshwara Temple is situated around 24 kilometres away from Kolar. The closest train station can be found at Kolar Goldfields, which is located 8 kilometres away. There is a regular bus service from there.

Kolar Gold Fields

7 Kolar tourist places to include in your itinerary

The Kolar Gold Fields, more often referred to as the KGF place, may be found in the Kolar District of Karnataka. This area became famous for being home to one of the most important gold mines in India, and it is thought to have the world’s second-deepest gold mines. The term “Little England” refers to a town that has been profoundly shaped by the cultural traditions of its colonial settlers.

This town is known for its pleasant atmosphere and the presence of bungalows designed in the British style. The mines are no longer active and have been closed down permanently. It is not feasible to explore the underground mines, but there are a lot of British villas in this area, so you may check them out instead.

About 27 kilometres separate Kolar from the Kolar Gold Field. Additionally, one may skip Kolar to get straight to KGF, a popular Kolar tourist place. Kolar and Bangalore both have access to a variety of transportation options, including those provided by the state of Karnataka.

Anthargange

7 Kolar tourist places to include in your itinerary

Anthargange is located around 70 kilometres north of Bangalore in the Shathashrunga range, which is part of the Kolar district of Karnataka. The mountains, which are located at an elevation of 1712 metres above sea level and include granite boulders, tiny caves, and lush forests, are one of the greatest retreats for those who are enthusiastic about hiking, rock climbing, and cave investigation.

The name Anthargange comes from the ever-flowing spring that emerges from the centre of the mountains and winds its way through the rocks. The name, when translated from Kannada, literally means “Inner Stream” or “The Ganges from the depths.” There is no clear explanation for where this stream came from. In addition to this, it is the location of the Kashi Vishweshwara Temple, which also draws in worshipers.

Getting to Anthargange is easy due to the well-maintained roads that the Karnataka state board maintains for visitors. From places such as Bangalore, Tirupati, etc., a cab service may take you to your destination. The destination does not have any bus service, unfortunately. However, whether you choose to drive yourself, ride your motorcycle, or take a cab to Anthargange, the most scenic and impressive route is the one provided by the State board.

This magnificent temple is well-known in the area for the enormous statue of Lord Ganesha, which is situated on the grounds of the temple. Locals have the belief that individuals should pay a visit to this temple in order to get the divine blessings of Ganesha before beginning any new endeavour, such as a marriage or a job.

You may get to Kurudumale in a hurry via any one of a number of transport options. Not only is it well connected by road and rail with Bangalore, but also with other cities in the vicinity and in the surrounding region!

The Kolaramma Temple is well-known not just among travellers but also among the people who live in and around Kolar. It is one of the two most important temples in the city.

The temple was designed in the Dravida Vimana Architectural style, and it is famous for the elaborate pattern that was carved into the granite stone to represent the inscriptions that were produced by the Cholas. It is thought that the temple has more than thirty inscriptions, which are written in both Kannada and Tamil. The inscriptions may be seen within the premises of the temple. You may take an auto or a rickshaw from the nearby location to reach this temple.
