Bateaux Parisiens Questions & Answers
I believe you can wear what you like to the lunch cruise.
Did not do lunch but at dinner all were well dressed. I even wore a jacket and tie which I try to avoid.
We went on the dinner cruise. I wasn’t aware of a dress code but everyone was dressed nicely - sport coats or suits for men, after 5 dresses for ladies.
I’ve seen it written that Parisiennes are fussy about attire, especially at meals. A good friend, who lived the first 30 years of his life in Paris, disputes this. Wear what you feel comfortable with.
Don’t think there is a strict dress code, but most everyone was in a business casual attire.
No not really! I suggest that you dress age appropriately in seasonal attire.

Excellent dinner cruise, dress code not... - Bateaux Parisiens

Excellent dinner cruise, dress code not as it seems
We had a great time on ther dinner cruise and went for the window tables option ('privilege' I think it was called). Staff are very friendly and attentive. Our waiter was Yousef who was charming and very helpful indeed. The food was excellent and the wine kept on flowing and was of good quality (2 bottles, one white and one red for two of us). Atmosphere was great, ambiance etc. For us it was a 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration and was perfect for the occasion. Owners claim that they will not accept people on the dinner cruise wearing jeans (they specify 'smart elegant'). We saw three people, all were embarking for the 8.30 dinner cruise and all wearing jeans. They weren't scruffy or anything but they were wearing jeans (blue denim) and open necked shirts. There seemed to be no issue over this. The dress code thing is abit of an issue, especially if you choose to follow the code but other's don't. At the end of the day, if you have paid your money there is little they can do 30 mins before the boat leaves to do anything about it and they clearly don't want to be giving people their money back and ending up with empty seats.
We booked dinner and a cruise with Bateaux Parisiens well in advance but the whole experience was such a disappointment. We had travelled from London that day so we looking forward to a relaxing meal in a stunning location on the Seine right next to the Eiffel Tower. When we arrived at the Bistro Parisien for dinner we were told that our reservation had been cancelled as they had a last minute private function and dismissed us when we showed them our confirmation slip. We were rudely told to go to the cruise terminal to see the Manager. We waited for over an hour to see the Manager who told us that an email was sent to us last week explaining the cancellation. We had been travelling for 3 weeks in the UK and did not have access to our home emails. We checked our emails on return and yes, they did send a cancellation email but only the evening before our booking! We were not happy and our tired and hungry 7 year old daughter was losing her patience as well. It was a horrible experience and so disappointing. The Manager offered us a lunch time cruise but we had already made plans for the remainder of our trip to Paris so it didn't suit. She said we would be refunded the cost of the dinner which we finally received 3 months and several emails later. There were no other restaurants nearby so we ended up eating toasted sandwiches in the rain! It was a memorable first night in Paris but not in the way we had hoped! Later that evening, we ended up going on the river cruise which was good, although we couldn't see much due to the rain. I would definitely recommend a river cruise in Paris, the city looks spectacular at night but try another company!
I loved the food and the atmosphere on the boat. with our window seating, we could really enjoy all the sites on each side of the boat. the cruise lasts about 2,5 hours which is enough time to see the monuments, enjoy your food and still have a relaxing. I think the cruise is quite romantic and shows you the beautiful city of Lights under its best perspective. I think that the price around 200 EUR is still a bit too much ...if you compare to what you would get in a Michelin star restaurant for that price. But this is all part of the experience.
We started at the Eiffel Tower. We were disappointed we didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty. So this tour must not take you that way. Our headsets didn't work and didn't like how big it was. I think it would be nice to update and give everyone earbuds to keep. It was neat to see the walkways that Parisians use to exercise and sit and relax. Neat objects that people would put on the brick. Some objects were for children on climb on. Would not take this your again.
Our travel agent recommended that we go on the evening dinner cruise. Paris at night is romantic and unbelievably beautiful. Add a fine dinner, lovely music, and a congenial staff and you have an amazing night.
Wonderful way to see Paris and have great food and wine at the same time. Service was excellent and informative as we cruised up the siene, a must do if in Paris with limited time
