Explore Milan's fascinating canal system on our Navigli Canals Boat Trip . You'll sail along these 12th-century waterways and discover their history with your audio guide in English!

At your chosen time, we'll meet up at the Alzaia Naviglio Grande on the banks of the Navigli Canals . We'll welcome you on board and then set sail through one of Milan's most famous districts.

Our boat trip will begin with a glimpse of the  Case di Ringhiera , the typical houses of Milan's working-class neighbourhoods. Afterwards, you'll admire views of the 13th-century Church of San Cristoforo .

As we sail through the capital of Lombardy , you'll discover lots of fun facts about the places you see with your audio guide in English . One of the things you'll learn about will be how mascarpone was invented , which we'll find out about as we pass through a nautical alley lined with cheese workshops.

During our boat trip along the Navigli Canals, you'll also see the  Canottieri Milano Olona rowing club . With over 100 years of history, it's one of the oldest rowing clubs in Milan. Nearby, we'll find the  Vicolo dei Lavandai where the clothes of wealthy families were washed in the 18th century.

Some of the other fantastic sights we'll see during our boat trip will be  Scodellino bridge , a dock full of nightlife venues and even one of Leonardo da Vinci's best inventions . Don't forget your camera!

After 45 minutes to 1 hour of sailing, we'll arrive back at the starting point and finish our boat trip.

It's difficult to here above the disco music blaring on board. Most people were chatting rather than taking in the surroundings and information. Our trip was cut short as the engine died..no rebate. Do not buy online tickets: you have to check-in before you enter the train, and nobody in the railway station knows exactly how to do it. If you bought already a n online ticket, just show it to the train conductor before you enter the train and ignore the warning written on the ticket. A simpler solution is to buy ticket at the tobacco shop in the station in Bologna or at the ticket offices. Before you enter in the train, you have to stamp it in the station (there are special devices in the station) and you can use it for 4 hours. But when that tour was cancelled due to guide being ill, we booked Zani Viaggi tour through their website. It was easy to book, and bonus- cost less than other tour. Having done the other tour through other company previously here is what we noticed. Zani Viaggi used a big tour bus which was a little more comfortable, but meant more people on tour and bus driving time took even longer. The local tour guide Marco in Venice was wonderful- very humorous and knowledgeable. It was an extremely crowded weekend day in Venice- making navigating harder. Tour was shorter than tour we had with other company previously. That is both bad and good. Tour was in San Marco square only, then to a location nearby to see the glass making. We were allowed to skip that and go on to our free time. (Too hot for us to stay in that crowded hot room to see the glass making) The great thing about this tour was MORE FREE TIME! We really liked that. Read What to Expect- you will not see Rialto Bridge with the guide, but are free to do that on your own. Our guide with us on our bus and during the tour was Monica. She was wonderful keeping us all informed and together. Our bus drivers were also very good. Would we recommend- Yes! What to expec (not just this tour company, but any one from Milan to Venice tour)t: LONG LONG DAY (14+ hours), crowded, hectic! Bus trips take a long time to Venice- but you just ride and the guides take care of other details like the boat ride to Venice. Be prepared on this or any other tour to Venice by bringing water, Euros for the pay toilets, and come armed with your own maps so that you can find where you want to go. We did not do the gondola ride- but that is offered to you as an option. This is a taste of Venice- you will not be disappointed. You will be enchanted! We are grateful to have had the chance to return to Venice when last minute our other tour was cancelled and we scrambled and our hotel suggested Zani Viaggi. I bought two tickets for the Bernina day trip online with this company, Zani Viator Local, that handles in Milan; the night before, they sent a voucher with the wrong meeting address; of course, I missed the tour meeting point; the agency Zani refused to refund my money. I pass my complain to trip advisor, and I'm still waiting for them to contact me. Please do not use this company, Zani Local Milan. It was the worst experience a worst customer service ever. The Milan agency made a mistake, after showing them the wrong address voucher they issue a small portion of what I pay for; I'm still waiting for Trip Advisor to handle the complaint and back the customer up regarding this issue. I travel with my son to Europe for a 6 day trip, we planned to do a day tour and we end up losing the experience and the money. Trip advisor needs to handle review this and issue my complete refund. Big group was divided into 2 buses: English and Italian-speaking… Bus left Milan at 7:20am, WiFi in the bus not reliable. The drive is 2.5 hours from Milan to St Moritz (bring passport). We were given 2.5 hours to walk around and take pictures of the frozen lake and watch the cross-country skiers. After a quick grocery store lunch, we boarded the red Bernina train for the most gorgeous train ride to Tirano. We felt like Anna and Elsa in winter wonderland. Every turn of the train provided gorgeous postcard-like scenery. Both bus and train rides were comfortable, there were multiple bathroom breaks and a ton of great memories. Lake Como Boat Ride to Torno

The moment you’re probably most excited for is next. It’s almost sacrilegious to come to Lake Como without going on a boat ride, which is why it’s definitely included on this tour. There’s a magical feeling as the boat gets underway, the breeze caresses your face, and the sun shines down on you and the stunning villas that you pass by.

In all, your boat ride will take about an hour, and you’ll be taken to the little village of Torno with its colorful homes. From here, you’ll have a view of Moltrasio across the lake, and you can wander the streets to find the Church of San Giovanni or just enjoy some time at the lakeside.

Enjoy your time exploring the quiet streets of this town compared to the busier noise of Milan. You'll be glad you decided to escape the city for the day! After your time in Torno, return to Como by boat as you cruise through the lake soaking in those last panoramic views. Your trip leader will get you to the train station with your tickets for the return trip back to Milan in time for your aperitivo before dinner.

Do not take this tour!!!!

Please do NOT take their Idyllic Lake Como Day Trip with Boat Tour! This was the worst tour we have ever taken! Our guide, Elizabeth, was late showing up to the train station in Cadorna putting us in a panic as the whether we were in the right place or if there was going to be a tour. She showed up 22 minutes late and made no apology. We were not provided with any type of earpiece which we have been provided with on every other The Tour Guy tours that we have taken. This was a huge problem, as we were barely able to hear anything that Elizabeth was saying on the train ride between train noise and other people having private conversations who were not in our tour group. When we arrived at Lake Como, we all anticipated that we would immediately board a boat. That did not happen. One of the issues we had was that Elizabeth did not tell us our agenda so we really didn't have much clue as to what was going on. We first went on a walking tour of Como. Very little information of significance was provided by our guide. Of the eight people on our tour, only two managed to stay with Elizabeth for the entire walking tour. That should give you a pretty good indication as to how lacking the tour was due to Elizabeth's lack of energy and failure to provide meaningful information. After lunch (which is at your own expense), you meet up to go on the boat ride. What we thought was going to be a private one hour boat tour instead was a 21 minute ferryboat ride with 100 other people! We congregated at the stern of the boat where Elizabeth gave her spiel, but due to the engine noise we could not hear anything so it was basically pointless. When the boat docked in Torno we didn't know we were supposed to get off until the last second. Again, this was because Elizabeth did not provide any type of agenda. In Torno, the only thing she pointed out was a church that was built in the 1500s that she said looked better on the outside than it did on the inside. After an hour in Torno, you take the 21 minute ferry boat ride back to Como and that is the end of the tour. You are given tickets to ride back on the train yourself. Elizabeth did not return with us, as she lives in Como. Bottom line is this...get a round trip train ticket from Cadorna to Como for @ E15.50 and take the ferry roundtrip for E5 and save yourself a ton of money! Having a guide was absolutely pointless.

The Navigli district is famous for its canals and vibrant evening life. With this tour you will have the pleasure of cruising along the Naviglio Grande sipping an excellent cocktail and tasting good food.

You will see the typical Milanese railing houses, which represent the Milan of the past, now home to numerous bars and restaurants, going upstream to one of the oldest churches in the city: the Church of San Cristoforo, whose construction began in the 13th century . You will see the historic headquarters of Canottieri Milano Olona and the famous alley of the launderers, an architectural jewel that takes its name from the residents who washed their laundry there, all in complete relaxation and in a convivial atmosphere.

There are several curiosities that can be found on the canals, here are some: 1) The transport of the marbles that still decorate the Milan Cathedral today, coming from the Candoglia quarries on Lake Maggiore, took place through the Naviglio Grande.

2) In 1805 Napoleon completed the construction of the Naviglio Pavese to connect “Milan with the sea”.

3) Navigation on the canal was an excellent method of transportation, abandoned only in the first half of the nineteenth century due to competition from the railways.

4) On the Navigli one of the greatest women of the twentieth century, Alda Merini, was born and lived, so tied to the canals that she could not do without it to write her verses about her.

Enjoy the wind whipping through your hair as your boat speeds out onto the lake and admire the breathtaking, dramatic scenery of the mountains. Lake Como is situated in the foothills of the Alps, which makes for a truly magnificent viewing experience! The lake water glows blue and green under the sun, like a fairytale lagoon, and is surrounded by dramatic cliffs, a variety of lush green trees, and brightly colored villages. The best way to experience Lake Como is truly on a VIP boat cruise!

On your tour, you will stop off in the idyllic village of Bellagio situated on a peninsula in the middle of the lake. There are some fabulous restaurants for lunch, as well as many souvenir shops. The area is particularly famous for its silk production – so you’ll find many fine silk scarves, ties, and other items on sale in the local shops. 

After lunch, it’s time to sail back across the lake to your dock, where you’ll disembark and be met once again by your driver for your return trip to Milan. You should arrive back at your hotel in time for a nap before heading out for a traditional Italian passeggiata and aperitivo , or an evening tour of the city!

The tour will begin with your private driver collecting you from your hotel in Milan (another custom location in the area can be agreed) with a luxury sedan or minivan. After about 1H drive you will reach Cernobbio, one of the most glamorous village of Lake Como.

You’ll meet your official licensed private guide and board on your private luxury boat. You will have a 4H boat tour cruising and learning about the beautiful villages and the hidden gems of Lake Como.

With this half day Lake Como private boat tour you’ll discover quitely the main locations on the most famous branch of Lake Como. During the tour there will be the time to do a couple of short stops or a long one, in any places of choice (one of the famous villas or villages on the shores of the lake).

The tour usually starts in Cernobbio Village, but departure from the neigbour villages can be also arranged. You can choose to start the tour in the morning and enjoy the lake with the daylight, admire the beautiful landscape and ancient villas, or start the tour in the afternoon to enjoy the beautiful colors of sunset between the water and the Alps from the boat.
