Carnival Valor

About Carnival Valor

Exciting enhancements were made to Carnival Cruise Line's 110,000-ton, 2,980-guest Carnival Valor in 2016. New dining venues were added including a poolside eatery for burgers and one with Mexican favorites, bars, fun activities and youth programs for kids and more, making the family-friendly Conquest Class ship more popular than ever for all age groups.

Step aboard and fun will greet you at every turn. Melt your cares away as you relax in the whirlpools and at the swimming pools. Kids also have their own for wading. Thrill-seekers will find hair-raising excitement at the four-deck-high, 214-foot-long waterslide.

Relaxing spots can be found throughout the ship, with nearly 20 fun bars and lounges to meet-up with friends and enjoy your favorite drink. An immense 14,500-square-foot spa offers several fabulous treatments that will leave you feeling like new and the state-of-the-art fitness center boasts a variety of high-tech equipment. Touch base with those back home and friends at an Internet café, catch up with your reading at the library and get some retail therapy at the onboard shops. Exhilarating entertainment options include special evenings with production shows, comedy acts and more.

Kids will feel like they are at summer camp with supervised age-specific activities at the specially designed program. Cool places for teens include a video arcade and their own club where they can hang-out, watch movies and listen to music.

Make sure you bring your appetite along, as exciting dining options — many complimentary — are offered on the Carnival Valor. Delicious international cuisine is served at the stunning main dining rooms, with an Art Deco design and huge chandeliers. Extensive menus change daily with enticing choices and a kids' menu features all their favorites, so mealtimes are easy and fun for the whole family. Take your taste buds on a vacation around the world at diverse food stations at the casual buffet, where you can savor delicious Chinese food, New York-style deli fare and many other options. Whenever you have a craving, room-service is offered 24/7 as well as fresh hot pizza.

Multi-course gourmet dinners were designed to thrill foodies, while a host of casual eateries include mouthwatering hand-made burritos and tacos, plus a poolside hamburger joint with handcrafted burgers and fresh-cut fries.

Select from a myriad of spacious accommodations — many specially designed for families. Stay in an Interior Stateroom or Ocean View, a grand with a Balcony or a Suite, they are all fabulous and well-appointed. A steward is on duty 24/7 to assist you with your needs.

Exciting entertainment is featured for everyone in the family to enjoy, including dazzling shows at the three-level theater. View hit movies, concerts and more at the jumbo-sized LED screen and head to the excitement at the bustling casino with all your favorite games. Dance the night away and join the laughter at the comedy club.

Take the whole family along and enjoy the fabulous resort-style Carnival Valor.

Blue Iguana Cantina

Blue Iguana Cantina

Nobody knows Mexican dining like a blue iguana. Well, our blue iguana, at least. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the BlueIguana Cantina features freshly made tacos and burritos stuffed specially for your enjoyment. Throw our homemade tortillas and salsa into the mix, and you have a casual dining experience that will make you say “mmmm” (which is actually Iguanese for “more, please”).Nobody knows Mexican dining like a blue iguana. Mongolian Wok

Mongolian Wok

Chow down on some delicious Asian goodness. First, select your noodles and veggies. Then tell one of our chefs which sauce and meat you want in the wok. Will it be mussels and Szechuan? Beef and Thai barbecue? Chicken and black bean? Don’t worry, the decision doesn’t have to be final — you can come back to Mongolian Wok and try all the combos your heart desires!

Deli

Looking for a little taste from the old neighborhood? Pile 'em high at the Carnival Deli. Enjoy old time favorites like a hot pastrami on rye, grilled Reuben, or roasted turkey breast on a country roll. Our sandwiches and wraps are always hand-carved and served fresh with cole slaw or relish. Come by, satisfy your craving for a great sandwich and make sure you don’t forget the kosher dill.

Seafood Shack

Seafood Shack

A good seafood dish is quite the catch. However you like yours served — whether it’s on a roll or a platter — Seafood Shack’s the place to cast your net. Imagine a New-England-style seaside spot where you can take it all in, enjoying a great meal complete with a side of ocean view. On a Carnival cruise is where you’ll find this shack by the sea, wherever in the world you happen to be!

Guy's Burger Joint

Guy's Burger Joint

We went looking for someone to help us grill up the best burgers at sea, and we found just the guy. Carnival has teamed up with best-selling author, restaurateur and Food Network personality Guy Fieri to bring all the authentic appeal of a roadside burger shack to Guy’s Burger Joint, the cool poolside spot for hot burgers and hand-cut fries. Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to our toppings bar and truly make it your own.

Circle

What does the “C” in Circle “C” stand for? Well, “chill,” “connect” and “cool,” just to name a few. It’s where young teens ages 12 to 14 go to hang out, meet new friends, and enjoy some pretty awesome activities like dance parties, games, outdoor movies and more, in the special Circle “C” area or around the ship. It’s all supervised by friendly and fun-loving counselors who want your young teens to have the best vacation ever.

Club O2

Your parents deserve a nice vacation… but then again, so do you. So let’s let them go do their thing while you do yours. Where to? Club O2. Hang out and do stuff like watch movies, listen to music from this decade, play sports and video games, join karaoke jam sessions… maybe even have a pool party or two, all with other high schoolers ages of 15 to 17.

Video Arcade

Video Arcade

If you love to play video games, you’re in luck. Our video arcade boasts a huge array of games, and is open to players of all ages, all night and all day. So get some tokens from the vending machine and let the fun times begin. Challenge your friends to a game, or just see if you can beat the top score. After all, with the video arcade open 24 hours and an entire cruise ahead of you, you have plenty of time to try.

Spa Carnival

Spa Carnival

When it comes to complete relaxation from the inside out, nothing beats a trip to the spa. From the minute you step inside, the soothing ambiance begins to work its magic. Renew yourself with premium beauty and wellness therapies, like hot stone massages, aromatherapy or full-body wraps. This is your time to be spoiled, indulged and even beautified. Lie back, close your eyes, and feel the stress sail away as your body and mind experience total tranquility. (Oh yeah, and this feel-good stuff isn’t just for the ladies — dudes, there are plenty of treatments on our menu for you too.)

Camp Ocean

When families cruise Carnival, even the smallest fish in the pond have a big, awesome time. Okay, so it’s actually way more than just a pond — it’s Camp Ocean. At Camp Ocean, 2–11 year-olds stay busy, keep active and have fun as they enjoy all new ocean-themed activities and entertainment made for kids.

First impressions are important — everyone knows that. We’ll let you in on a little secret: that’s why it’s so important to us that the atrium, your first taste of your Carnival cruise, tastes like ‘wow.’ From the moment you step aboard, the atrium — the heart of the ship — simply screams “welcome aboard!” It screams it with hustle, with bustle, with music and with high ceilings featuring panoramic views of the whole scene from the upper decks. This 360-degree funspot is also the home of the Guest Services desk, the place you go if you have questions for one of our certified fun experts… about just about anything that’s on your mind.

Jogging Track

Jogging Track

Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. After all, if you’re going to jog, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to do it with a more scenic view, or a more refreshing breeze — both of these are available in abundance when you go for an open-air jog on the upper-deck. Jogging tracks are available on all Carnival ships, and are even padded for long-distance comfort.

Mini Golf

Ah, imagine a perfect day out on the links, the golfer's zen of the ball, the hole and nothing in between but well-manicured fairway... plus one cactus, a treasure chest... and wait, is that a windmill in the way? Just who designed this course anyway? Whoever it was, they had one thing in mind — maximum fun for mini-golfers, big and small! That's precisely why you'll find a course on every Carnival ship, where you can hit the holes and take in everything you’d expect, like the sights and the sounds... plus the seagulls.

Fitness Center

Fitness Center

We have some bad news for you — your ship has a gym. In other words, there’s no excuse for leaving your fitness routine back on land. That’s great news, however, for your body, which will definitely benefit from all the extra energy that vacationing pumps directly into you. And let’s not forget the extra time you’ll have, since you won’t be waking up and spending most of the day at the office or anything like that. If those were some of your go-to excuses, we’re sorry, but we all know this is important. Why not treat yourself to some of our fitness classes — you might even have a little fun while you do something great for yourself!

Massage Room

Cruising always feels good, but it doesn’t usually — ooh, right there. Right where? Sorry, we’re at the onboard spa, where they do these amazing massages by hand. But they don’t just stop there — they’ve got tools to enhance the benefits too. Select from different hands-on experiences featuring seaweed for detox, herbal poultice for energy, bamboo for deep tissue penetration and hot stones for — ahhh — for perfection. We know you’re all about feeling good, and so are these massages.

Sauna

A trip to the salon is an opportunity to relax, to chat with others, to focus on yourself. It’s about more than just getting your hair or nails done… but it’s definitely about getting your hair or nails done! Even though you’re on vacation, you won’t have to settle for anything less than the salon style you’re used to back on land. And these good looks go beyond the usual — we even offer services like teeth whitening… great for taking those ‘I’m on vacation and I’m looking great!’ smiles to the next level.

New Orleans Cruise Parking (Where to Park) Options, Prices, and Map

Parking for a New Orleans cruise doesn’t have to be stressful. Whether you want the convenience of parking at the port or you want to save money by using an outside parking lot, there are options for you.

carnival cruise valor parking

That said, there aren’t as many cruise parking options in New Orleans as you’ll find in other places like Galveston or Port Canaveral. Still, with official port parking, independent lots, and hotels with cruise parking, you do have choices.

Below, we cover all of your options for parking for your cruise…

In This Article...

Official Port of New Orleans Parking (Recommended)

For most passengers, best option is to simply use the official port lots. The port offers ample parking for cruisers at both the Erato Street and Julia Street cruise terminals. Parking is located right at the terminal, offering a major convenience. So no matter which cruise line you sail, you can park right near the ship. However, that comes at a cost.

Cruise parking at the port is a flat fee of $25 per day with the total cost depending on the length of the cruise. Cash, credit, and debit cards are taken for payment.

  • 4-day parking | $100
  • 5-day parking | $125
  • 6-day parking | $150
  • 7-day parking | $175
  • 8-day parking | $200
  • 9-day parking | $225
  • 10-day parking | $250
  • 14-day parking | $350

The Erato Street Terminal parking is in a parking garage that sits above the terminal. You simply can’t park closer to your ship. No reservations are needed (in fact, you can’t even reserve a spot) and a parking space in guaranteed. The Julia Street Terminal offers parking in an fenced lot just across from the cruise terminal. There is a free shuttle that runs if you need help getting to the ship.

Both of the lots are secured, lighted and patrolled. Oversized vehicle parking (those longer than 22 feet) is not available.

Are you a disabled veteran? If you have documentation of at least 50% disability (VA letter, disabled veteran license plate, etc.) then the port offers free parking for up to 7 days.

  • Cost: $25 per day
  • Distance: At terminal

Independent Parking Lots

New Orleans Parking If you’re looking for a sharp discount, you might want to try New Orleans Parking. This company has different lots right near the cruise port, including some with very cheap cruise parking rates, especially compared to the official port parking.

In particular, its Cummins Parking Lot is located very close to the terminal and says it offers cruise parking, along with a shuttle to Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian ships.

The Cummins lot costs $17 per day (there is also a $5 service fee and sales tax on top of that.) That’s roughly a third less than parking at the cruise port.

  • Cost: $17 per day (plus $5 service fee)
  • Distance: 1 block (free shuttle provided for passengers)
  • Website:  http://www.neworleansparking.com

Machu Picchu Cruise Ship Parking Located about 1.5 miles (5 minutes) from the New Orleans port, this lot offers an alternative to the official port parking. Parking is secured behind a barbed-wire fence. The lot is somewhat small, so spaces are limited and reservations are required.

There is a free shuttle to and from the port. Parking costs $14 per day. The facility says it is also sheltered to protect your car from the elements.

  • Cost: $14 per day
  • Distance: 15 blocks (free shuttle provided)
  • Website: https://www.machupicchutours.com/cruise-ship-parking.html

Hotels With Cruise Parking

As mentioned at the start, New Orleans hotels with cruise parking are also an option. Many of the hotels in the area cater to cruisers. If you want to save the most money and plan to stay in the area the night before your cruise, then New Orleans hotels with park & cruise packages are your best bet.

These hotels will let you park at a discount (or free) while you cruise just for staying a night with them. For more information and details on each hotel, visit our page on New Orleans hotels with cruise parking here .

Here are a few hotels from our list:

  • Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter
  • Holiday Inn-Downtown Superdome
  • Holiday Inn Westbank

In addition to our list of hotels with cruise parking, we also have New Orleans hotels with shuttles to the cruise port .

Questions and Answers About New Orleans Cruise Parking

Do I need a reservation to park? If you are parking at the official cruise lot, then you don’t need a reservation. A parking spot is guaranteed. If you are using an independent lot, then you will want to reserve online ahead ahead of time. This also gives you a chance to pay ahead of time, giving you one less thing to worry about on cruise day.

Is there free parking anywhere for my cruise? The only place we’ve found with free parking is at a number of hotels around the city that offer parking for guests that stay with them before their cruise. Apart from that, you’ll have to pay for your parking during your trip.

We are going on a 14 day cruise on Carnival in Nov 2021. What is the cost to park? Is it just double the 7 day cost, or is it cheaper?

Not many 14-day cruises usually sail from there, so not sure. It’s likely best to assume it’s double the 7-day rate and if it turns out cheaper, then that’s great!

We are going on a cruise and need parking for 2 over sized vehicles. I was thinking of booking with Cummins parking, however I have been unable to locate any reviews with regards to this garage. I have read some awful stories about other garages (over charging, booting their vehicles etc.) and the last thing any one wants is to find their car vandalized, booted, etc. Does anyone have experience with Cummins?

I am a disabled 48 yr old woman taking a cruise with Norwegian. I require a mobility scooter to get around. I will be driving into New Orleans and parking at the port. I will be renting the scooter in New Orleans. Can you tell me where there is a handicapped spot near the Norwegian dock and where I should ask for the scooter to be delivered to me there at the port? I cant walk for any distance at all so your help would be so much appreciated, thank you very much 🙂

Just head to the port and ask the staff working where to park. We aren’t sure exactly where the handicapped space is, but there will be space for those who need it.

Can I continue parking there after my cruise is over? Staying 2 more nights.

Shouldn’t be an issue, but we’d suggest talking to an attendant just to be sure.

Is there a lot or section someone can drop you off and pick you up for a cruise. Also could they just park at a lot to wait for us (of course paying for it) and can we get a shuttle back and forth if we are not parking for the whole week.

Yes, there’s a spot for drop-off and pick-up. Just head to the port and follow the signs.

Are there any lots that takes RVs?

Yes, there is an oversized lot. It costs $40 per day.

If we are on a Norwegian cruise can we choose to park in the cover parking garage even thought it says its for Carnival?

I believe they might check to make sure you are boarding a Carnival ship when you enter the garage. But it’s worth a shot! The worst they can tell you is no.

Fulton Street appears to no longer cater to cruisers. “Fulton Place Parking – Garage Covered (Overnight) THIS OPTION IS NOT FOR CRUISE PASSENGERS. ” “No shuttle for this parking option. This option is for hotel guests/city parking in the area.”

We actually called the lot after seeing the same message. We were told the Fulton Place Garage has several options. There is still cruise parking at the garage. If you click “Reserve” and enter your dates, it will show the options at the garage.

Do you get a discount for handicap parking?

No, there is no discount.

I just checked Fulton street parking and it cost $139.something for a week. WHERE IS THE SAVINGS?

It looks like the rate has risen for cruise season. According to the website “Please note: season rate of $15.00 per day in affect from 01/03/2019 to 05/05/2019.” Along with tax and a $5 service fee, the total price is $122.60 for garage rooftop parking ($134.36 for covered garage parking). That’s not as much savings as it used to be.

fulton street parking was (as of this morning the 24th) $12 for rooftop and $14 for below.

Baltimore cruises to reroute after bridge collapse pauses port traffic

Carnival, royal caribbean will move some operations to norfolk while baltimore recovers from key bridge collapse.

carnival cruise valor parking

Cruise lines are scrambling to make alternative plans and avoid the Port of Baltimore while officials suspend vessel traffic amid cleanup and rescue efforts around the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.

Three major cruise lines sail from Baltimore, though no ships were in port Tuesday morning. The next cruise was scheduled to depart Sunday, but its operator confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that the voyage would instead head out from Norfolk.

Amira M. Hairston, a spokeswoman for the Baltimore port, said in an email that the status of the upcoming cruise ship schedule is not yet known.

“At this time we do not know how long vessel traffic will be suspended. As soon as that is determined we will provide an update. Until then please keep those involved in your prayers,” Hairston wrote.

Royal Caribbean International’s Vision of the Seas left Saturday for a 12-night southern Caribbean cruise with plans to return April 4. The cruise line said in a statement Tuesday that it was “closely monitoring the situation, and our port logistics team is currently working on alternatives for Vision of the Seas’ ongoing and upcoming sailings.”

On Thursday, the cruise company said the current sailing would end in Norfolk.

“Our guests on board will be provided compensation and complimentary shuttle transportation as well as Wi-Fi and phone calls to adjust their travel arrangements,” Royal Caribbean said.

Upcoming cruises on April 4 and 12 will sail from Norfolk as well, and passengers will be compensated for the change. The ship was already scheduled for maintenance in the Bahamas after the April 12 cruise.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragedy and collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and extend our heartfelt prayers to all those impacted,” the company said.

Carnival Legend set off Sunday for a seven-day Bahamas cruise; the ship was scheduled to return March 31 and depart for its next sailing the same day. Instead of coming back to Baltimore, Carnival said late Tuesday, it will end its trip in Norfolk, and free buses will bring passengers back to Baltimore.

The ship’s next seven-day cruise will leave Norfolk and return to the port. In a news release , Carnival said it would temporarily move Baltimore operations to Norfolk “while Key Bridge rescue and cleanup efforts continue.”

“Our thoughts remain with the impacted families and first responders in Baltimore,” Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a statement. “We appreciate the pledge made by President Biden today to dedicate all available resources to reopen Baltimore Harbor to marine traffic as soon as possible. As those plans are finalized, we will update our future cruise guests on when we will return home to Baltimore, but in the meantime, we appreciate the quick response and support from officials in Norfolk.”

Carnival Pride is supposed to start sailing from Baltimore next month, mostly to the Bahamas and eastern Caribbean.

Norwegian Cruise Line does not have cruises scheduled out of the port until later this year. American Cruise Lines, a U.S. river cruise operator, has Chesapeake Bay trips on small vessels scheduled from Baltimore starting in May. The cruise line said it will monitor developments “and make adjustments if needed.”

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) said it was “deeply saddened” by the bridge collapse and was closely following the situation. “Right now, the most important thing to do is to allow the emergency workers to do their work,” the group wrote in a statement.

This year, 12 ships are scheduled to make a total of 115 calls at the Port of Baltimore, the industry association said. With room for roughly 2,000 or 2,100 passengers at double occupancy, most Baltimore-based ships are much smaller than the record-breaking behemoths that sail from Florida ports.

“Any adjustments to current cruise activity at the port will be announced as soon as available by the individual cruise lines,” CLIA said in its statement.

A news release issued last month by Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s office said that more than 444,000 individuals cruised out of the Port of Baltimore last year, the most since 2012. The Maryland Port Administration said in a news release last year that the cruise industry generates nearly 400 jobs and $63 million in revenue every year for local businesses.

The port positions itself as a convenient option for cruising year-round, thanks to its location off Interstate 95 and plentiful parking. More than 40 million people live within a six-hour drive of the city, the port administration says.

Baltimore bridge collapse

How it happened: Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after being hit by a cargo ship . The container ship lost power shortly before hitting the bridge, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said. Video shows the bridge collapse in under 40 seconds.

Victims: Divers have recovered the bodies of two construction workers , officials said. They were fathers, husbands and hard workers . A mayday call from the ship prompted first responders to shut down traffic on the four-lane bridge, saving lives.

Economic impact: The collapse of the bridge severed ocean links to the Port of Baltimore, which provides about 20,000 jobs to the area . See how the collapse will disrupt the supply of cars, coal and other goods .

Rebuilding: The bridge, built in the 1970s , will probably take years and cost hundreds of millions of dollars to rebuild , experts said.
