Swim among tropical fish teeming over Rainbow Reef and shop for woven hats and purses at the Straw Market. Remember to try the local specialties like conch in tasty fritters or creamy chowder, and spirit-soaked rum cake.
In sleepy Bimini, warm waters, colorful reefs, and white sand beaches await. Visit the unique Dolphin House, built by a local historian from shells and sea glass. Swim with a guide among reef sharks at Shark Lab, or do as Hemingway would have done and join a thrilling sport fishing expedition. You could also join a relaxing sailing trip to see how conch is fished before digging into conch fritters and an iced rum punch.

At Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, lounge on the white sand beach, snorkel, or explore the 19th-century fort. Snap a photo at the buoy that marks the southernmost point of the USA, and visit the stately, colonial-style house where Hemingway lived in the 1930s. Explore the art galleries and bars of Duval Street and lively Mallory Square—and don’t miss the chance to sample a tangy Key lime pie.

Heartbreaking video shows cruise ship passenger swimming, fishing with friends week before fatal jump.

Heartbreaking video shows 20-year-old Levion Parker happily swimming in the ocean and fishing with his pals just a week before he drunkenly jumped off a Royal Caribbean cruise ship and was never seen again.
The TikTok video was posted by Parker’s friend, Kaleb Felty, on March 27 and shows Parker beaming on a boat off Florida and splashing around in the shallows.
At one point, a shirtless Parker holds up a fish he’d just caught. Another clip shows him fighting with a fish on his line as it darts under the boat before it cuts to Parker taking a dip in the sea.
Felty posted several other videos of Parker, including one of him hunting with a bow and arrow. In another video he dubbed a “typical Levion moment,” Parker feeds pelicans a fish out of his hands from a boat.
Parker’s pal also posted a slideshow of several photos of the two together, writing “I will see you again one way or another.”
Parker, of North Port, Florida, jumped off the 11th deck of the Liberty of the Seas around 4 a.m. on April 4, plummeting 200 feet into the Atlantic in front of his helpless brother and father while heading to Cuba and the Bahamas’ Grand Inagua Island, Florida officials said.
He had been drinking and had just gotten into an argument with his father, witnesses said.
“There was a lot of yelling, and the crew was alerted immediately,” cruise passenger Deborah Morrison told The Post.
“His family was horrified. Just beside themselves,” she added.
Royal Caribbean said it “immediately” launched search boats to look for the 20-year-old and alerted the Coast Guard, which later took over the search.
The boy’s stunned father, Francel Parker, told The Daily Sun he threw six life rings off the ship in hopes of saving his son before the massive vessel was able to come to a stop about 20 minutes later.
Five days later, The Coast Guard called off its search.
Francel Parker is demanding to know how his underage son was given alcohol on the four-day cruise.
However Royal Caribbean sources told The Daily Mail he could have purchased the booze offboard, where the drinking age is 18.
“We have a strict policy on underage drinking. We did not serve this guest on board,” the source told the outlet. “The ship was docked in the Dominican Republic that day, so we cannot speak to what guest did when he was off the ship.”

Princess Cruises' Star Princess ship delayed, 9 sailings canceled
Travelers will have to wait longer than planned to sail on Princess Cruises’ upcoming ship.
The delivery of Star Princess, which was set to debut next summer, will be pushed back by about two months. The cruise line said the delay was a “mutual” decision with shipbuilder Fincantieri.
“Following a comprehensive review of the remaining construction milestones, both parties have elected to adjust the ship's delivery date from July 29, 2025 to September 26, 2025, which will result in the cancellation of the nine inaugural sailings,” Princess said in a news release .
Guests whose cruises are impacted will be able to rebook on any Princess ship and, depending on which sailing they pick, receive future cruise and onboard credits. They will also be able to opt for a full refund of their fare instead.
“Despite our collective dedication and relentless pursuit to deliver the ship in late July, it has become evident that additional time is required to ensure the Star Princess is delivered to the highest standards expected by our guests,” Princess Cruises President John Padgett said in the release.
Your cruise was canceled: Now what?
The ship’s new inaugural itineraries will include 11 and seven-day Mediterranean cruises on Oct. 4 and 15, 2025, respectively. Those will be followed by a two-week transatlantic voyage to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Oct. 22, 2025.
Those sailings will be available to book on April 30.
Star Princess will be the second in the line’s Sphere Class. Sister ship Sun Princess was also delayed ahead of its launch earlier this year, with Princess citing “additional technical work” needed at the shipyard.

Subscriber only, travel | celebrity cruises joins the party at private bahamas island cococay.
Celebrity Cruises made its first trip to sister cruise line Royal Caribbean’s private Bahamas island CocoCay this week.
The popular destination is rife with bells and whistles that cater to the adventuresome set that frequent Royal Caribbean ships, but the island is filled with tastes for all, including a new adults-only beachfront area called Hideaway Beach.
Celebrity Reflection was the first ship to visit on April 22 followed by Celebrity Beyond on April 23, both part of five-night western Caribbean sailings departing from Port Everglades, part of new shorter itineraries being offered by the premium cruise brand. Sailings also visit Bimini, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Key West.
“Guest feedback inspired the new shorter Caribbean itineraries, designed to offer year-round opportunities to unwind with loved ones,” said Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge in a press release. “Introducing Perfect Day at CocoCay presents new experiences for Celebrity guests seeking quick beach getaway escapes close to home.”
Once known as just Little Stirrup Cay, Royal Caribbean now calls it Perfect Day at CocoCay, which received a $250 million overhaul first in 2019 adding a 13-slide water park including the 135-foot-tall Devil’s Peak that is one of seven slides on the castle-like tower that acts as an icon that can be seen from around the 125-acre resort.
It also added a dock that allows for two ships to come alongside instead of having to take day visitors with tender vessels. Nearby Great Stirrup Cay, which is used primarily by Norwegian Cruise Line, still relies on tenders, but recently announced it too would build a ship dock.
It also features a colorful helium balloon ride called Up, Up and Away that takes passengers up 450 feet on the rare calm days it’s not too windy, a 1,600-foot zip line and the largest wave pool in the Caribbean.
Those fall under the “Thrill” side of the island, but there’s plenty on the “Chill” side as well, including the Coco Beach Club, which includes a series of over-water cabanas with hammocks and personal slides plus more beachside cabanas, an infinity pool and a higher-end Mediterranean dining venue.
The newest feature on the island, though, opened in January. Hideaway Beach is the first part of the island to be kid-free. It has its own private beach and lagoon, two pools, seven food and drink locations and 20 cabanas.
Spending time at Hideaway Beach is designed to be an all-day experience at an extra charge for those 18 and older. Prices start at $39-$89 per person depending on sail date with the 20 cabanas available for an additional rate.
The space includes the al fresco On the Rocks bar with live musicians, live sports on TV and even a pool table and shuffleboard with great views of the dock along the island’s rocky shore.
The lagoon is surrounded by loungers, hammocks and in-water swingsets while the Hideaway Bar is the central swim-up bar in the main pool while there are two full-service Beach Bars on either side of the area as well.

Naked cruise to sail from Miami in 2025
MIAMI (Gray News) - A nudist adventure awaits with the Big Nude Boat cruise scheduled to sail from Florida next year.
Bare Necessities Tour and Travel announced its newest nude cruise will be the Norwegian Sky cruise ship out of Miami.
The Big Nude Boat 2025 cruise will be a 10-day trip taking travelers to the Caribbean with scheduled stops that include the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and St. Lucia.
Bare Necessities said it will be taking over the Norwegian Pearl from Feb. 3 to Feb. 14, 2025.
According to the cruise itinerary , clothes-free experiences will be planned throughout the trip including nude beach days on private islands and nude days at sea.
But there will also be proper nudist etiquette and other rules for guests on board that include no photo zones around the pool area and dance venues, according to the cruise’s policies .
The travel company recommended that passengers bring some sort of casual clothing for the times they need to dress, along with a swimsuit as not all excursions will be clothing optional, but lingerie or fetish wear will not be an acceptable form of clothing on board.

‘Doesn’t sit right’: Cruise line raises price by thousands after consumer confirms booking
ORLANDO, Fla. — A retired schoolteacher thought she and her friend had booked the trip of a lifetime. She turned to Action 9 after she claims Viking Cruises jacked-up the price of their voyage by nearly $9000 about a week after they booked it.
Elizabeth Gehron loves to travel.
“I always said when I retired, I wanted to do Australia and New Zealand,” Gehron said.
And that’s what she set out to do. Gehron and a friend found a deal with Viking Cruises for around $6,100 a piece to check out those two countries. They also added more days for the “Best of Australia” pre-excursion. It was advertised at a special starting at $899.
She said, “That allowed us to go into Australia, because the cruise just you see Melbourne and Sydney, we wanted to go into Australia and see more of it.”
READ: ‘Just keep taking’: Consumer claims car wash wasn’t authorized to withdraw nearly $900 from account
After their travel agent confirmed the price with Viking for their exact dates in December it was booked. The $899 add-on was listed in their original guest statement.
Gehron told Action 9, “We get the invoice from them. Everything is good, exactly what we were promised… what it showed and advertised online.”
But eight days later, they received an unwelcome surprise. A new statement arrived showing Viking had hiked the price of their add-on to $5,299. That’s $4,400 more than they each originally agreed to pay.
After calling for an explanation, they said this was Viking’s explanation:
“There was a price mismatch issue, and that they couldn’t honor that price that we had booked it for,” Gehron said recalling her conversation with a Viking representative.
READ: Grieving widow says contractor took advantage at her lowest point
Tammy Levent, who runs Elite Travel points out, if this was some kind of advertising or other mistake, most cruise lines have insurance for what are called “errors and omissions” that should cover Viking if the cruise company honors this price.
And even though fine print in its policy shows the carrier isn’t responsible for errors and has the right to make corrections, Levent can’t understand why a giant company like Viking won’t make good on the deal.
Levent said, “The hundreds of thousands of people that are going to see this understand that hey, you know what, this is not good business on Viking’s part and I may reconsider booking with them because they didn’t honor this.”
Action 9 reached out to Viking asking if hiking the price after someone books is a typical business practice and why it happened in this case. So far, Viking hasn’t responded.
Gehron believes the company should honor the price of the original agreement.
She said, “Just surprised me. And I’ve traveled with Viking before on several cruises and always been very pleased with them felt they were reputable and trustworthy. This just doesn’t sit right.”
After Action 9 reached out, Gehron said Viking contacted her and offered to only charge each of them $2,200 extra instead of $4,400. The two women are now trying to decide what to do. They have until the end of the month to cancel or pay the higher fare.

Commentary | No lie: National Honesty Day coming up this week | Opinion
Just under the wire before National Honesty Day this Tuesday, Donald Trump denied having affairs with porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal and then buying their silence to keep them from hurting his presidential campaign.
So why did Trump pay $130,000 to Daniels and $150,000 to McDougal? A Trump-loving condo neighbor of mine angrily leapt to his defense: “You don’t know why he paid them,” she challenged. “Maybe it was for pickleball lessons.”
Pickleball lessons? Is that what they call it now?
National Honesty Day was created in the 1990s by author Hirsch Goldberg while writing “The Book of Lies: History’s Greatest Fakes, Frauds, Schemes and Scams.” Goldberg chose the last day in April to celebrate, as a counterweight to the beginning of the month’s April Fools Day, a holiday celebrating lies.
The purpose of the book was to encourage honesty in politics and daily relationships. Sorry to break this to you, Mr. Goldberg, but it failed miserably.
According to a recent Gallup Honesty and Ethics Poll , Americans rated virtually all 23 listed professional categories, including politicians, lower than they’ve ever been ranked.
Even nurses, rated the most trusted profession in America, dropped 11% from their previous ranking to a still impressive 78% for impeccable honesty and ethics.
Can you guess which profession came in dead last? Members of Congress garnered a rating somewhere south of the sewer at 6%, earning the polar opposite of the trust nurses garnered. Senators hardly did better, with a measly ethics rating of 8%. If a national referendum demanded every member of Congress and the Senate be thrown out today and replaced by a nurse, do you think it would have any trouble passing?
Why does the public view so many of today’s politicians as unethical liars? To quote former Trump White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, they’re not spewing lies, just “ alternative facts .”
And the alternative facts keep piling up. Notorious Georgia congresswoman and serial liar Marjorie Taylor Greene famously declared that the wildfires in California were sparked by space lasers controlled by utility companies and the Rothschild family, maybe the only Jews at the center of more antisemitic conspiracy theories than George Soros. But she is far from the only member of Congress pulling such “facts” out of her tuchus.
Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) recently had lying about bribe money added to the staggering pile of corruption indictments against him, such as receiving kickbacks including, but not limited to, a Mercedes-Benz, 13 gold bars and $500,000 in cash. Menendez attributes this windfall to withdrawing money from his personal savings account. Whatever you say, Bob.
Legendary Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan once said “You can have your own opinions, but you can’t have your own facts.” To which disgraced former Congressman George Santos replies “Yeah? Watch me!”
Santos maintained the allegations that he spent thousands of dollars from his campaign account on everything from Botox treatments to payments for OnlyFans, an online sex content platform, are false, and his actions perfectly legal — until his non-stop lying, including about his own life story, became too much even for many of his fellow Republicans, who helped expel him from Congress.
Perhaps National Honesty Day will inspire these compulsively lying politicians to check the mirror and take the ethical, honest path going forward. Anyone holding their breath?
As a lad, George Washington famously said “I cannot tell a lie. I chopped down that cherry tree.” If he were around today, I’m afraid it would sound more like “Cherry tree? What cherry tree?”
National Honesty Day. Only 30 years after it’s inception, why does it sound so quaint?
