Etihad Airways, EY (known as "Etihad Airways")

Flight listing policy and procedures

• For Subload Business class bookings your ticket will be issued in Economy with a Business cabin upgrade code. Your upgrade will be subject to availability at check-in.
• Bookings made through MyIDTravel does not require listing. In case you need to be listed on the flight this should be made through www.myidtravel.com/myidlisting .
• Staff can add all booked/Subload/listed PNR in the "Trips" section of the Etihad App which allows for online check in and priority list information. Download the App from the App Store.

Visas and Passports and API

• API data is entered into PNRs to avoid last minute data-collection at check-in.
• Travelling staff/family should ensure that they hold valid passport and relevant visas for their intended destination and/or scheduled point route, in case off-loading becomes necessary. In the absence of valid passport / visa staff passengers may be denied boarding. 
• No flights are embargoed, however some flights are subject to payload/weight restrictions, where standby guests cannot be accepted, even when there are available seats. Please keep this in mind when travelling on standby tickets.
• Standby Guests are informed that flights departing AUH to JFK, ORD, IAD & YYZ have significant payload restrictions during the Summer/Winter and acceptance will be very difficult. EY450 to Sydney and EY462 to MEL (morning departures from AUH) are similarly impacted.

Flights excluded

• EY flights series 999-1999 & 3000-8000.

Checked Baggage

• Irrespective of the allowance printed on your ticket the baggage allowance will be as follows:
• Economy Class - 25kg except to/from USA & Canada where the allowance is 2pc at 23kg per piece 
• Business Class - 40kg except to/from USA & Canada where the allowance is 2pc at 32kg per piece
• Maximum weight for each checked in item is 32kg
• Where airlines provide EY employees with a lower allowance EY reserves the right to reciprocate

Cabin baggage

• As per etihad.com for the class you are eligible to travel in.

Boarding policy

• EY staff will have a higher boarding priority over other airline staff holding ZED tickets.
• Other Airline staff are accepted based on date of joining/seniority with their issuing carrier. 

Our digital experience has been upgraded to ensure Staff Travel Acceptance is as smooth as possible. Hence please download our Etihad app to use our digital staff acceptance experience.

Subload Check-in:

• Everyone travelling on staff tickets should check-in online through the Etihad app or etihad.com prior to arriving to the airport, as no staff travel counter will be available. (Only in the event online check-in is unsuccessful, you may approach an Economy check-in counter for document verification and to be added to the waitlist.)
• To view updated cabin loads and standby priority, click ‘Flight Capacity & Priority’ within ‘Manage’ feature.
• Subload tickets should wait to receive notifications via the Etihad app or email. Once you are accepted from the waitlist, you will receive notifications via the Etihad app or your email. Please enable notifications in the Etihad App, and monitor your notifications around flight closure time to ensure you see updates in a timely manner.
• Once a seat is assigned, Guest can go to the self-service bag drop in Row D to drop their bags and print boarding passes. 
• Bookings with an upgrade code if a higher cabin has been purchased. Depending on seat availability, you may be issued a seat in Economy to proceed to the gate – and then later receive a seat change/upgrade at the time of flight closure.

Firm Ticket Check-in:

• Check-in is mandatory through the Etihad app or etihad.com prior to arriving to the airport, as no staff travel counter will be available.
• Holders of firm tickets can go directly to the Self-Service Baggage Drop located at Row D to drop their bag and print a boarding pass if required.
• If you are on an upgradable staff ticket, you will be notified via the app/email if your upgrade has been actioned, once the flight is closed.
• If you receive an upgrade notification, please access the Etihad app to download the updated boarding pass. 
• The Class indicated on your ticket in the highest class into which you can be accepted. Our Guest Services Staff and Cabin Crew are not permitted to accommodate a guest in a higher class than ticketed.
• If you are accepted in a premium cabin, this does not include Lounge Access . Please do not approach our Lounge staff expecting to gain access.

 Dress code

• When travelling on Staff Travel benefits you and your family should be appropriately dressed and groomed for your respective cabin. This must meet the Etihad image and should be in accordance with the conservative public standard in the UAE

Staff Guests should wear:

• Smart Casual or UAE National Dress. 
• Smart jeans, trainers and t-shirts are allowed

Not Permitted Dress Items

• Worn out, dirty, torn or ripped clothing
• Beach attire including shorts, flip-flops or rubber shoes
• Sleeveless tops
• Jogging or track suits
• Clothing should not be transparent, over revealing, tight or offensive. Shoulders must be covered. Skirt hem must be at knee length or lower

Special service requests

• Wheelchair is acceptable but no other special requests can be accepted.

 Special meals

• Not applicable for standby staff.

Seat requests

• Not applicable for staff guests.

• Not applicable to interline staff guests.

Unaccompanied minors

• Not permitted.
• Comprehensive travel insurance is recommended for passengers own benefit.

Back-up tickets

• EY expects all interline employees to carry back up tickets.

Travel Agent

It’s quick and simple.

All you need to do to earn miles is enter the company’s 12-digit BusinessConnect account number every time you make a booking. Enter the account number in the OSI (Other Service Information) field.

If the employee already has an Etihad Guest account, please add this to the booking too. That way, they’ll earn Etihad Guest miles as well.

How to make a BusinessConnect booking?

Ask the account manager for the company's BusinessConnect 12-digit account number . Enter this number in to the OSI field (Other Service Information) when you make the booking or immediately after. You can use the entries on the GDS table as a guide.

If the employee has an Etihad Guest membership number, enter this into the booking too.

If you are a Travel Management Company (TMC) or an agency managing a company’s travel bookings, remember to add the BusinessConnect account number to the booking. Always quote the account number on your GDS.

Etihad Guest miles will be credited as long as the BusinessConnect account number is quoted in the reservation prior to the customers' travel.

Heathrow strikes to cause 'widespread disruption': Full list of dates and which departments are walking out

Strikes at Heathrow Airport are taking place over the next two weeks, with the first one already under way.

Staff at the UK's biggest airport are staging a series of walkouts - and one union has warned of "widespread disruption".

Here's what you need to know about when the strikes are, what disruption is expected and which departments are taking part.

Border Force officers

They are walking out for four days from now until Thursday 2 May over changes to their working conditions, according to the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) trade union.

The union said more than 300 of its members working at terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the airport are striking.

The effect of this strike is on arrivals rather than departures.

The action is taking place because around 250 Border Force staff will lose their jobs at passport control under new roster plans, the union says.

PCS general secretary Fran Heathcote said: "Our members are angry and disappointed at being forced out of their jobs.

"While not everyone will be affected, the changes will disproportionately hit those who are disabled or have caring responsibilities.

"The Home Office should be doing all it can to retain experienced, trained staff - not lose them by introducing an unworkable new roster system."

A Home Office spokesperson said it had "robust plans in place to minimise any potential disruption" during the strikes and "keeping our borders secure remains or top priority".

The spokesperson said they were "disappointed" with the union's decision but remained "open to discussing a resolution".

"The changes we are implementing will bring the working arrangements for Border Force Heathrow staff in line with the way staff work at other ports, provide them with more certainty on working patterns and improve the service to the travelling public," the spokesperson added.

Almost 800 staff in various departments

Unite members in the following departments at Heathrow are set to take part in a week of strike action in May:

• Passenger services - who assist travellers to catch connecting flights

• Trolley operations

• Campus security - the security guards who are responsible for all workers at Heathrow and vehicles being checked before entering Heathrow

• Firefighters

• Airside operations

The walkouts will take place on the following days:

• Tuesday 7 May

• Wednesday 8 May

• Thursday 9 May

• Friday 10 May

• Saturday 11 May

• Sunday 12 May

• Monday 13 May

Unite says the strike action "will inevitably cause widespread disruption across the airport, leading to delays and disruption".

It says the airport has announced the work of passenger services, trolley operations and campus security is set to be outsourced by 1 June in a "cost-cutting exercise" that Heathrow has stated will save it £40m.

"This cost reduction will lead to a substantial reduction in the number of workers, which raises serious security concerns, given the safety critical nature of much of the work undertaken," Unite says.

Its firefighters and airside operation members are also striking because they fear they "may be next in line" to have their work outsourced, the union adds.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "Heathrow Airport's actions are deplorable, it is raking in massive profits for the bosses while trying to squeeze every last penny out of its workforce.

"Unite is fully focused on defending its members jobs, pay and conditions and our members at Heathrow will receive the union's unrelenting support during this dispute."

A Heathrow spokesperson said: "We are reorganising our operations to deliver better results for our customers. There are no job losses as a result of these changes, and we continue to discuss with Unite the implementation of these changes for the small number of colleagues impacted.

"Unite's threats of potential industrial action are unnecessary, and customers can be reassured that we will keep the airport operating smoothly, just like we have in the past."

A strike involving refuelling workers, which was set to affect more than 30 airlines from 4 May to 6 May, has been called off after they accepted a new offer on pay and conditions.
