Europe Escape

I just got back from my 3rd solo trip with Expat Explorer & can't wait to join some more. This time was a 12 day Christmas and New Year's Europe Escape 2023/2024 and being the first time I was ever away from home for the holidays, it was truly magical, everything I imagined plus more. Our tour guide Luke was very personable, knowledgeable, caring and simply fun. He went out of his way to make sure each and everyone of us was well taken care of & provided plenty of ideas/options to us to get the most we could get out of each and every single day. Luke even dressed up as Santa Claus on Christmas Day!?! Our driver, James, was very professional, courtesies and when able, took the time to get to know us but always made it a priority to get us to our next destination as well as keep us safe. This tour is fast-paced with plenty of early morning departures and lots of walking but in doing so, the trade off is that you get to experience as much as possible in each of the various destination cities along the way. As a solo traveler, I never felt unsafe or alone and the camadarie of our group was instant. I appreciate that Expat Explorer allows you the freedom to decide between various pre-set excursions in the various destinations or the opportunity to explore on your own and/or even some combo of the two. I truly enjoyed traveling with the group. Europamundo did a good job facilitating the trip. Though, we did have a little trouble keeping to the itinerary near the end. I would make a few changes to some of the highlighted stops in order to add in a little more free time.

Best of Central Europe

This tour had everything I was looking for! Great Eastern European food, great local beer, and a variety of things to do for any type of interest. The hikes were fantastic, and the transportation between stops was well organized. This tour offers a good balance of free time and time with the group, which allows you to come together at the end of the day over dinner to discuss your day.

European Delight

So honestly when we were assigned to this company through Tour Radar and looked at the reviews we were a little worried. I tried to hope for the best and assume that people who DO NOT have great experiences write more reviews. I was absolutely correct. We had AMAZING tour guides. Knowledgeable, kind, helpful. I think this company does an amazing job of moving people from one destination to another especially when it seems that itineraries overlap offering everyone the trip they desire. The hotels far outweighed our expectations. Of course there were small hiccups with time losses and changes in plans for the day but for the price and to get a brief view of Europe I would call it an outstanding tour.

Rome to Berlin: Piazzas, Prague & the Past

Great diversity of countries and cities but WAY too fast paced. One night in Slovenia and Poland was ridiculous and with travel time some days we spent less than 15 hours in the city. The guide was a but inexperienced so we didn't have a good description of some of the cities. Great way to make friends and see cities! Would recommend going end of August or later as it was still very hot going through the cities!!

I really enjoyed my trip to the Balkans. Simon was a fantastic guide and always went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable. He was very knowledgeable and even brought his own stories too. The tour exceeded all expectations I had and I would recommend to anyone.

It was a great tour. There were a few thinks that could have been better. Gentle walking was not gentle and it would have been nice to know before hand that a half hour walk was more like an hour and a half.

Children under 14 years of age are not permitted to travel without being accompanied throughout the journey by a responsible person aged 16 years or over. Children aged 14 - 15 years old may travel unaccompanied, as from 5am, arriving at their booked destination no later than 10pm. Unaccompanied children will be asked for proof of age or a signed letter of permission from their parent/guardian. (sms or chat based messages are not permissible)

One infant aged 0-2 travels free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Additional infants aged 0-2 must be paid for. If you are travelling with more than 1 infant aged 0-2, please book the additional infant as 'Children (3-15).

• Connections to London

European services depart from London Victoria Coach Station. You can add travel to London from any of our UK coach stops for just £15 per person one-way or return. Just select your preferred UK stop and book to anywhere in Europe and this will automatically be added to your booking.

• Customs info

Passengers are required to carry their own luggage through customs while they are passing through Immigration at ports.

Customers departing from London Victoria Coach Station need to be at their departure location 15 minutes before departure.

• Passport & Visa info

Passengers must ensure they have the correct passport and visa documentation for travel.

• Luggage allowance

Luggage allowance is 1 medium sized suitcase and 1 piece of hand luggage per person.

• Sea crossings

Sea crossings are made by either ferry or Eurotunnel, check your ticket or timetable for specific information on your journey.

Our passenger descriptions are designed to help you choose the right ticket for yourself or your fellow travellers.

Adult (16+) and Children (3-15)

Children under 14 cannot travel alone unless accompanied by an adult (16+). Please note, you may be required to show proof of age at any point during your journey. Failure to do so, may result in the full adult fare being charged.

Children (3-15)

Disabled Children

Should be booked as Children. If they are travelling in a wheelchair or require assistance, please call our Assisted Travel Helpline.

We strongly recommend that you bring a car seat appropriate to your child's age, but ask you to take responsibility to fit the seat.

Booster Seats

Children aged between approximately 4-11 years old, or up to 150cm tall, may use booster seats. We carry a limited number onboard most coaches.

If travelling with a child, you may be required to show proof of age when buying tickets or at any point during your journey. Failure to do so may result in the child being required to pay the full fare for the journey on that day.

Adult (26 - 59)

Adult fares are applicable to all passengers aged between of 26 and 59 inclusive.

Child 0 - 12 inclusive

Children aged 12 or under travelling on any European service must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Unaccompanied children will not be carried

Young persons (13 - 25)

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to travel on any European service unless accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Young persons aged 16 or 17 years can travel alone on European services but only if they have a letter of authority from a parent or guardian.

Senior (60 and over)

Passengers aged 60 and over are entitled to receive a small discount on European journeys. On European journeys a 50% discount is given to carers, please call us on 08717 818177 to book.

We have three different Coachcards available, each offering savings of 1/3 on all of our Standard and Fully Flexible coach fares all year round.

Prices shown include your coachcard discount, your coachcard number will be required during the booking process.

Coach service offers journeys across the UK for knockdown price of £2 each way

Hundreds of cut-price, sustainable intercity journeys are on special offer this week for trips across England, Scotland and Wales

A transport company is offering £2 tickets for coach trips across the UK to be taken up to May 12. With a £1 service fee, that means travellers planning journeys can book long-distance tickets from £3 on the FlixBus website or app.

In England there is a government-backed scheme capping local bus tickets at £2 until December 2024, but this offer opens up longer routes and also applies to journeys into and around Wales and Scotland, where the £2 cap doesn’t exist. So, if you fancy a trip through the blossoming valleys from Bristol to Swansea, or from Glasgow to Inverness via the Cairngorms, now is the time to book. The deal is available until Sunday 21 April.

The international travel tech company is celebrating three years of business in the UK. It runs in partnership with local coach companies using green, branded vehicles. Earlier this year FlixBus launched the first direct electric coach service between London Victoria station and Newport in south Wales two of around 75 UK destinations currently covered by the network.

FlixBus began as a German startup in 2013 and has grown exponentially since then to cover thousands of routes in more than 40 countries, entering the UK market in 2020. Last summer it launched the first ever regular routes from several UK cities, including Leeds and Cambridge, direct to Amsterdam. The buses aim to be cheap, sustainable, easy to book and comfortable, with free wifi and charging points on board.

The lowest-priced journeys include direct routes such as Manchester to Edinburgh, London to Bridgend, Bristol to Newcastle and hundreds more intercity connections. The whole FlixBus Scottish network is part of the £2 scheme with Inverness added as a new destination this month. In Scotland, National Entitlement Card and Young Scot cardholders can get free travel.

Andreas Schörling, managing director of FlixBus UK, said the network offers affordable tickets and “comfortable, modern vehicles” and is celebrating its third anniversary with “£2 travel around the vibrant cities and towns of the UK”. The company aims to “become the best-loved coach brand in the country”, he added, offering “reliable services to as many passengers as possible”.
