She has received accolades as an actress as well including the NAACP Best Supporting Actor award. Janet is a published author, dancer, businessperson, philanthropist and one of biggest-selling artists in popular music history. With sales of over 180 million records worldwide, Janet Jackson stands as one of the best-selling artists of all time with a string of hits that have left an indelible impression on pop culture. She is the record holder for the biggest selling debut tour in history and is the first woman to debut in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 charts. She also stands as one of only four artists to have a #1 album for four successive decades alongside Barbra Streisand, Bruce Springsteen and U2. Even today she continues to make an undeniable impact. In 2018, her last single, “Made for Now” with Daddy Yankee, released by her own Rhythm Nation Records, hit #1 on the Dance Clubs Songs chart making it her 20th single on the chart in the span of her career. In 2019, she was inducted the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside her brothers and in that same year her critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency, “Metamorphosis” closed out to record breaking ticket sales with only 18 dates at the Park MGM’s Park Theater. As reported by Billboard Boxscore, the legendary singer, dancer, songwriter, producer, and actress is among the biggest Vegas performers of this decade, ahead of Celine Dion (2011), Britney Spears (2013) and the Backstreet Boys (2017). Her critically acclaimed and award winning documentary “Janet Jackson.” brought in over 20 million viewers in one week.
On February 4, 2021, Janet Jackson’s iconic mega platinum-selling third album Control turned 35. The album also returned to the top of the charts, hitting #1 on the Apple Top 40 US Pop Album chart. Led by five chart-busting hit singles — “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” “Nasty,” “Control,” “When I Think Of You,” —with their complementary, tightly choreographed music videos — and “Let’s Wait Awhile,” Control became Jackson’s first No. 1 Pop album. The album also made Billboard chart history for having the longest continuous run on the Hot 100 with singles from one album, ultimately tallying a remarkable 65 consecutive weeks from that perch. To date, Control has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
About Chris “Ludacris” Bridges
The career of the multi-talented CHRIS “LUDACRIS” BRIDGES can best be described as remarkable. As a recording artist, he has sold more than 24 million albums worldwide, thanks to the blockbuster success of such singles as “Stand Up,” “Get Back,” “Southern Hospitality,” “Number One Spot,” “Money Maker” and “My Chick Bad.” All of these records were accompanied by ingenious videos that demonstrated Bridges’ far-reaching imagination, and his willingness to stretch the boundaries of what rap videos should look and feel like.
With an unrivaled match of lyrical acumen, wit, and imagery, Ludacris has solidified himself as one of music’s premier entertainers. His versatility and artistic complexity also enabled him to make a seamless transition to acting, including the fan favorite role of “Tej” in Universal Pictures’ box office phenomenon Fast & Furious franchise where he was introduced for the first time in 2003 in 2 Fast 2 Furious. He will reprise his role of “Tej” for the seventh time in Fast X, which is set to release May 20, 2023.
His other notable feature film credits include Garry Marshall’s ensemble comedy New Year’s Eve, Ivan Reitman’s romantic comedy, No Strings Attached, Paul Higgin’s Crash which received an Academy Award for Best Picture in 2006 and Hustle & Flow which earned Bridges a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
As a father of four girls, his latest ventures fittingly include launching his educational platform devoted to the enrichment of children called “KidNation”. In addition, Bridges created the animated series KARMA’S WORLD which launched in the Top 10 in 42 countries on Netflix, received two NAACP Award nominations and is already on its fourth season. The series for children ages 6-9 is a coming-of-age story about a young Black girl finding her voice and using it to change her world — originally inspired by Chris’s oldest daughter Karma and based on the interactive educational website of the same name created by Karma’s World Entertainment in 2009.
A consummate businessman, Ludacris is enjoying success outside of entertainment. One of his most successful ventures includes opening his long-anticipated restaurant “Chicken-n-Beer” at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport with a new location opening at LAX in 2023.
Bridge’s philanthropic efforts rival his entertainment accomplishments. He started The Ludacris Foundation in 2001 which focuses on helping the youth in his hometown of Atlanta and has partnered with No Kid Hungry and Feeding America.

After teasing a big announcement on her social channels over the weekend, Janet Jackson revealed that she will be going on tour next year, with Ludacris as the opening act. The dates appear below.
She also promises “There will be new music.”
While her longwinded video announcement is short on details (but big on hellos to countries tuning in), the tour will launch on April 14 in Hollywood, Fla. and will hit 22 states before concluding in Seattle on June 21. Pre-sale for the tickets will begin on December 13th on Ticketmaster, and general admission will start on December 16th according to her website.

She also posted a sizzle reel on her socials.
The singer has been more visible in recent months than she has in many years, with an appearance inducting longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in a ceremony held in Los Angeles last month.
She also made headlines with a Lifetime documentary on her life and career , which unpacked the indisputably unfair way she was treated in the wake of her controversial wardrobe malfunction at the 2004 Super Bowl. Jackson’s career suffered in the years that followed, while her co-headliner Justin Timberlake, who actually caused the malfunction, thrived.
The documentary, however, sheds little revealing light on its subject. “Fans will take heart that Jackson is presented here in her best light: That archival footage depicts a talent at the top of her game, and in the present day, she seems serene and happy, with tearful moments punctuating an overall sense of Zen calm,” Variety’s review reads in part. “For now, Jackson remains fascinating but enigmatic — a star about whom we’ll perpetually want to know more. And viewers will have known that before investing the time in a doc that can’t quite figure out its namesake.”

Janet Jackson has announced her 2023 Together Again Tour. The music icon went to Instagram Live on Monday morning to share the exciting news with her fans.
“I have a big announcement to make. I’m going back on tour and yes, we will be together again very very soon. That’s actually the name of the tour, Together Again,” Jackson said with a smile.
“I miss you guys so much and I cannot wait to see you.”
Jackson will be joined by rap phenomenon Ludacris on the North American leg, which kicks off April 14, 2023, in Hollywood, Florida.

Fan presale begin Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. local time. Tickets go on sale to the public this Friday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. local time via livenation.com .
The Together Again Tour is titled after Jackson’s No. 1 hit “Together Again” from her sixth album, The Velvet Rope.
Jackson celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Velvet Rope in October by releasing a deluxe edition featuring ten bonus tracks.
The expanded edition includes Teddy Riley ‘s TNT Remix of “I Get Lonely” featuring Blackstreet, the J. Dilla (Ummah Jay Dee) remix of “Got ‘Til It’s Gone” and Timbaland and Missy Elliott ‘s remix of “Go Deep.”
Additionally, it features club mixes of tracks by David Morales & Frankie Knuckles, Masters at Work, Tony Moran, Jason Nevins and Tony Humphries.
Jackson’s last album, Unbreakable , was released in 2015. She has since teased its follow-up, Black Diamond . She explained the concept behind the term ‘black diamond’ in an Instagram post in 2020.
“Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut. I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy,” Jackson wrote.
“There is a lot that I have endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have ruff edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength.”
In her tour announcement, Jackson made a promise to her fans: “Yes, there will be new music.” However, she didn’t provide further details surrounding the album. As always, we’ll hear it from her lips first.

Janet Jackson is ready to hit the road again.
The musical icon announced dates for her “Together Again” tour next year — her first since 2019.
“You guys, I miss you so much, I am so excited to see you,” she gushed in an Instagram video on Monday about the news.
“You guys have no idea, I’ve missed you so much, so much, and I can’t wait to be with you. I’m so excited.”
The tour will hit 33 cities — including Toronto, Atlantic City, Detroit and Atlanta — across North America beginning on April 14 in Hollywood, Florida.
Rapper Ludacris will be joining her as her opening act and tickets for the show will go on sale starting Dec. 16.
The tour is named after a song from her 1997 album “The Velvet Rope.”
“The Velvet Rope,” involved themes such same-sex relationships, BDSM, domestic violence and family trauma.
Want to see Janet Jackson live? Her tour calendar with links to buy tickets is here.
“I don’t think [my fans] were expecting it at all because it was completely different from the stuff I had done in the past,” she told the New Zealand Herald of the album this past October. “I think it did catch them truly off guard, but … it’s something that I really needed to do for me.”
The LP was a commercial and critical success back in the 1990s, debuting at No. 1 in the US and sold over 4 million copies worldwide.
The Grammy winner also recently paid tribute to her 1986 “Control” album cover at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony last month.
Jackson channeled her retro look by rocking an all-black Christian Siriano outfit. The “Poetic Justice” actress sported a high-collared black-buttoned jacket and matching wide-leg pants. She even wore a wild and curly hairdo similar to her cover.
Siriano, 37, even called Jackson his “ muse ” earlier this year, telling Page Six: “Janet is the most elegant, chic… these new celebs — don’t even start with me — [Janet] is so lovely, thanking me every day. I’m like, ‘You are Janet Jackson. I will make you anything.’
“She’s so lovely and amazing — to post on Instagram and tag me and support me was just so nice. I dress a lot of people and they don’t always do that,” the “Project Runway” alum added.

‘Sheinelle, don’t get weird’: Janet Jackson bonds with a ‘Today’ host superfan
When Janet Jackson showed up Friday on ‘Today,’ she likely didn’t expect the outpouring of admiration that came from superfan host Sheinelle Jones.
Dec. 16, 2022
During Jackson’s encore performance of “Together Again,”Jones joined her onstage. The “That’s the Way Love Goes” artist extended an invitation for the broadcast journalist to be one of her backup dancers for the day after Jones channeled Jackson for the 2019 Halloween episode of NBC’s “Today” show.
“I would love for you to join me,” Jackson told Jones a few months ago while promoting her tour on the morning program. “You should.”
Fast-forward to this weekend, when Jackson gave Jones a backstage tour and a rare interview reflecting on her life, career and upcoming documentary, which will include footage from the Together Again tour.
“Maybe it’s because I’m not as shy as I used to be,” Jackson said of her decision to document this phase of her journey. “I’m a little bit more open to sharing more in my life than I ever did before.”

The Hollywood Bowl 2023 lineup includes Janet Jackson, Culture Club and movies galore
The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced the Hollywood Bowl’s 2023 season lineup on Tuesday, including opening night with Janet Jackson, a Beach Boys fireworks spectacular, a 90th birthday tribute to Quincy Jones and more.
Feb. 7, 2023
After practicing for hours with Jackson’s backup dancers and alone in her hotel room, Jones performed a short routine to the tune of “Together Again” alongside her idol at the Hard Rock Live.
“Last night I kept trying to find the place between being out of my body and trying to stay in my body and actually get on that stage,” Jones said Monday on “Today.”
“When I was in high school, I had pictures of news anchors on one wall, and then I had pictures of Janet Jackson on another ... and when I was in seventh grade, I would make up dances to Janet. And so to be on that stage last night, it was ... surreal.”
Jackson’s Together Again tour encompasses more than 30 cities across the United States and Canada, including five stops in California. The veteran musician is scheduled to come to Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, Highland and Mountain View in June.
On June 10, Jackson will headline opening night of the Hollywood Bowl’s 2023 season with support from Ludacris and members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s youth orchestra.

Janet Jackson: Together Again Tour with Ludacris at Shoreline Amphitheatre
Janet jackson tickets, shoreline amphitheatre | mountain view, california.
On June 16, 2023, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre, Janet Jackson will perform live on stage, for the first time in four years, as part of her Together Again Tour, and it WILL be the best night of your life. Adding to the already exciting performance is Ludacris, who is a very special guest of the multi-award winning artist. Grab some tickets and come along for an epic concert celebrating Janet Jacksons 50th year in the industry and the two huge milestones of her seminal albums, The Velvet Rope and Janet.
Upon the release of "Together Again," Janet Jackson will return to the concert scene after a four-year hiatus. 30 years of Jackson's seminal album, The Velvet Rope, and 25 years of, Janet, as well as brand-new material and her greatest hits, will all be represented on the tour celebrating her 50 years in the entertainment industry.
She shot to fame thanks to her edgy live shows, political activism, and avant-garde music. Her innovative music and choreography helped put MTV on the map and shattered glass ceilings for women and people of color in the music industry. The socially conscious and personally revealing lyrics that she has made famous are largely responsible for her status as an inspiration to young people.
With over 100 million records sold, Jackson is one of the most successful musicians of all time. She has quite the discography, with hits like "Nasty," "Rhythm Nation," "That's the Way Love Goes," "Together Again," and "All for You." She has 18 singles that have reached the top 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Setting a new record for a female artist, she is the only artist in chart history to have seven commercial singles from one album reach the top five, all from her album Rhythm Nation 1814.
In 2008, she was placed at number seven on Billboard's Hot 100 list of the greatest artists of all time, and in 2010, she was placed at number five on the magazine's list of the top R&B/hip-hop performers of the previous quarter-century. She was ranked as the second most successful dance club artist by the magazine in December 2016. She is one of the most awarded musicians of all time, with a total of eight Guinness World Records, eleven Billboard Music Awards, eleven American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and five Grammys to her name. In 2019, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's safe to say that her live performances will be nothing short of miraculous, as she has literally done it all.

Janet Jackson Is Going Out On The ‘Together Again’ Headlining Tour In 2023
There was a moment midway through Janet Jackson’s headlining set at the 2018 Outside Lands Festival where she took what seemed like her first full breath of the night. “It’s a lot of hits, huh?” she asked the rabid crowd. And it really was. Janet has dozens upon dozens of certified #hits, and she’ll finally be taking them on a proper tour of amphitheaters and stadiums in 2023 for the first time in years.
Dubbed the Together Again Tour, there won’t be any festival schedules to look at, just Janet. Well, and Ludacris , who’ll be supporting the “That’s The Way Love Goes” star on each of the cross country and Canada dates of next year’s tour. And as an added bonus, Janet said took to Instagram to also say that, “That there will be new music.”

Just a Few of the Biggest Concert Tours of 2024, from Olivia Rodrigo to Bad Bunny
Posted: April 27, 2024 | Last updated: April 27, 2024
Listening to your favorite musician at home is fun, but there's nothing quite like the experience of singing along with them, and tons of more fans, live. And as luck would have it, 2024 is shaping up to be a massive year for some of the world's top musical acts, so chances are your favorite performer might be stopping at a city near you soon.
Ahead, we rounded up some of the biggest concert tours of 2024, ranging from Taylor Swift's mega-popular Eras Tour to Drake and J. Cole's exciting It's All A Blur Tour - Big as the What?—set to kick off this winter. You can also expect tour dates from classic icons like Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and more.
1) Taylor Swift
Undoubtedly one of the biggest concert tours ever, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will continue right through 2024. The international leg of the tour kicked off in Japan, where she played four shows in Tokyo. She'll also stop in Melbourne, Singapore, Paris, Madrid, London, Milan, and more before returning to the States to play in the fall.
There's nothing like seeing T. Swift IRL, but don't fret if you're unable to nab tickets—the Eras Tour movie is now available to stream from the comfort of your home.
2) Olivia Rodrigo
This is not a drill—"Drivers License" singer Olivia Rodrigo will be hitting the road on tour starting at the end of February. The Guts World Tour runs from February through mid-August and has dates in Nashville, Toronto, Chicago, and New York City, among others. Even cooler? Rodrigo will have a stacked list of special guests—like PinkPantheress, Remi Wolf, The Breeders, and Chappell Roan—with her.
3) Red Hot Chili Peppers
Did you hear the good news? The Red Hot Chili Peppers have extended their global tour through summer 2024. The buzzy stadium tour, which kicked off in June 2022, will now run until July 2024 and bring the California-based band to places like Los Angeles, Tampa, Toronto, and Salt Lake City.
4) Bad Bunny
It's fitting that "Monaco" rapper Bad Bunny titled his tour Most Wanted —it's slated to be one of the year's hottest tours. Planned to help promote his latest studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana , Most Wanted will kick off in Salt Lake City on February 21 and run through May 26.
5) Billy Joel
If you haven't yet seen Billy Joel perform live, there's still time! The Piano Man has added more tour dates to his schedule, stopping in cities like Tampa, New York, Denver, and St. Louis this year. Even more exciting? He'll share the stage with fellow iconic performers Sting and Stevie Nicks for some of these dates.
Mitski recently announced that she's expanding her North American tour dates , and we couldn't be more excited. The months-long tour, which supports her 2023 studio album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, has a long list of stops, including Miami Beach, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Paris.
There's nothing quite like a Madonna concert, that's for sure. The singer's Celebration Tour , which started last October, continues straight through the spring with dates in Seattle, San Francisco, Mexico City, and more. Besides her eye-catching sets, chart-topping songs, and impressive choreography, concertgoers also get a glimpse of the performer's fantastic costumes, which include looks from Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier.
8) Bleachers
The New Jersey-founded rock band, which is fronted by Jack Antonoff—known for producing albums for top acts like Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey—not only has announced a new album but a new tour , too. The tour will start in the UK in March, ending fittingly in the band's home state of New Jersey in mid-June. Check out their newly released music video for "Tiny Moves" if you need a Bleachers fix in the meantime.
9) Nicki Minaj
Nicki fans rejoice: the rapper and singer might be coming to a city near you soon as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The massive tour will include performances in Brooklyn, Oakland, and Baltimore, with stops at Dreamville Festival and Rolling Loud California along the way.
10) Blink 182
Live out all of your nineties and early aughts pop-punk dreams with one of Blink 182's One More Time Tour dates. The tour, which supports the band's ninth studio album, One More Time..., will bring the trio to cities all over the globe, including Sydney, Santiago, Portland, and Boston. The tour's supporting act is Pierce the Veil, which is also worth checking out.
11) Stevie Nicks
The oh-so-magical Stevie Nicks continues her touring streak with a bunch of 2024 concert dates . Set to begin in Atlantic City, NJ on February 10, Nicks will visit a dozen cities throughout the U.S. this year, such as New Orleans, Omaha, and Chicago. "Let's keep this party going in 2024," the singer-songwriter posted on her Instagram in September to announce the newly added tour dates.
12) The 1975
The 1975 is showing no signs of slowing down. The British band, famous for hits like "Somebody Else" and "Robbers," has extended their 2023 tour through 2024. Titled Still...At Their Very Best , the 22-date tour will open in Glasgow on February 8 and conclude in Amsterdam on March 24.
13) Drake and J. Cole
Rap greats Drake and J. Cole come together for the It's All a Blur Tour – Big As the What? which is guaranteed to be a good time. Drake, fresh off his 2023 It's All a Blur tour with 21 Savage, is set to hit dozens of cities starting in February, many of which J. Cole will also be in tow for. Scoop up tickets ASAP, as Drake's shows are known to sell out.
14) Janet Jackson
Superstar Janet Jackson is also extending her 2023 tour, Together Again , into 2024 with dates in Anaheim, Austin, New Orleans, and Hartford. Even cooler? Jackson's supporting act is the 2000s southern rap legend Nelly.
15) Rolling Stones
If you've ever dreamed of seeing the Rolling Stones perform live in person, now's your chance. The iconic rockers, who released their studio album Hackney Diamonds this past fall, are returning on the road for a 16-date tour with shows throughout the United States and Canada. Concertgoers can expect a mix of new tunes and Stones classics.
16) Bruce Springsteen
Famous for countless listenable hits like "Born to Run" and "Glory Days," Bruce Springsteen is set to embark on a massive world tour this year with his band, The E Street Band. The much-anticipated tour will take the Boss and his crew to cities such as Phoenix, San Diego, Dublin, and Madrid, from March through November.
17) John Mayer
Be sure to catch John Mayer's solo tour this year, which will bring the guitarist and crooner to cities throughout Europe. This leg, an extension of his popular 2023 solo tour, will kick off in Stockholm on March 13 and finish in Dublin on March 29.
18) Shania Twain
Okay, this one is technically a residency , but we're excited nonetheless. Shania Twain, most known for her incredible outfits (her hooded leopard print look, anyone?) and hits like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" is setting up shop in Vegas starting May 10. Twain's residency will take place at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood on and off throughout December 2024.
All good things must come to an end. The Eagles, known for "Hotel California" and other amazing rock songs, began their final concert tour this winter. It launched in Phoenix on January 20, with March 16 as its last date in the United States. Eagles fans won't want to miss this one.
20) Alanis Morisette: The Triple Moon Tour
Alanis Morisette joins forces with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts for their 2024 Triple Moon Tour , which has dates in North America and Canada. This tour is a great one to catch this summer, as it's slated to run from June through August.

Janet Jackson Reveals She Almost Played Halle Berry's X-Men Role but Had to Tour Instead
Janet Jackson said she was offered the part of Storm in the ‘X-Men’ franchise
20th Century Fox;Getty
Janet Jackson almost took Hollywood by storm.
The Grammy-winning singer revealed she was once offered the role of superhero Storm in the big-screen adaptations of Marvel’s X-Men comics, as a preview clip from the Friday, April 26, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show indicates.
“I can’t remember the film but — Halle Berry played Storm,” Jackson, 57, told hosts Drew Barrymore and Ross Matthews in response to being asked if she was almost cast in 1999’s The Matrix .
“But I couldn’t” accept the part, she added, “because I was just embarking on the Janet tour.”
Barrymore, 49, and Matthews, 44, were asking Jackson about a picture of her circa 1999 in which she wore an all-black ensemble including a leather trench coat. But it was 2000’s X-Men rather than The Matrix that she almost joined instead.
Berry, 57, played the iconic superhero in the comics-to-movie adaptations X-Men , 2003’s X2 , 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past .
The franchise also starred Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, James Marsden as Cyclops, Anna Paquin as Rogue, and more.
“ X-Men !” exclaimed Barrymore, who then revealed another missed casting connection, that she herself was in contention for a role in 1997’s Mark Wahlberg and Julianne Moore movie Boogie Nights . “I think it’s when I went and did Ever After . I went in a very different direction.”
Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE's free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.
In a 2021 interview with Vanity Fair , Berry revealed that she would “absolutely” revisit playing her X-Men character.
“I loved playing Storm, and people love Storm,” she said at the time. “If we could find a version that would make sense, or a storyline that would make sense, I would absolutely do that, for sure.”
While Jackson is known primarily for her music, the “Rhythm Nation” singer has starred as an actress in Poetic Justice, The Nutty Professor: The Klumps , and the Why Did I Get Married films, as well as the sitcom Good Times .
Gilbert Flores/WWD via Getty
“I love you in movies,” Matthews told Jackson in the preview clip. “Would you ever do another one?”
Jackson smiled and responded, “Sure, I would. For sure.”
Her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show follows her stopping by The Tonight Show on April 12 to crash host Jimmy Fallon ’s opening monologue. Jackson confirmed on the show that she’s in rehearsals for the upcoming dates of her global Together Again Tour .
