I booked the red/yellow hop on/off tour for myself and my daughters (5, 7, and 9). I bought the family pass which includes two adults and three children. The bus driver accused me of having two adults and two children, meaning my nine yr old was an adult? It would have been fine but we had to haggle for ten minutes about my pass being invalid. He eventually apologized. Then he stopped at stop 13 near Pink's Hot Dogs so we got off for lunch. He said we could be back in 45 minutes to catch the noon stop. We were back at noon and no bus came. I called. They said that "stop wasn't operating today". I explained we were let off here and told to be back here. He said he would have someone there in ten minutes. A second phone call later and 30 minutes more and they eventually got there. I'm local and so I'm familiar with the areas, but had I been from out of town with three young daughters, I can't imagine how worrisome this would have been. On the way back, the driver didn't follow the route, went further south than she was supposed to and prolonged our already long trip by another 30-45 minutes. It's an audio tour which require ear buds and they didn't work in every seat. They also didn't fit in my daughters' ears so they couldn't listen. Even if they could, the information and references are very outdated. The bus itself is also outdated. It was unfortunate. I would not recommend.

Worst customer service ever advised bus on the way and would arrive in 40 minutes- waited to find out driver went to lunch and it would be an additional 40 minutes - called star line and the employee Stephanie never apologized and said I'm just trying to help you out and accused me of calling with an attitude! I won't be using them or recommending them to anyone

Tour was pretty good...I cant recall our guide's name but he called himself Dr. Phil! We did the Starz homes and LA tour combo which was all day and pretty good. The only thing I frowned on was the no cell phone policy on the bus which I still don't understand. The best part of the tour for me was going to Venice beach which was waaaaaaaay too short and we stayed at the Santa Monica pier waaaaaaay too long. I also very much enjoyed the stop in town which we've coined as Little Mexico. Which I could remember the area but it's donned with booth after booth of handmade items, there were a couple of Mexican restaurants, and my favorite part was the fresh fruit cart which had a table lined with several fresh fruit juices to choose from (I chose watermelon..yum) and fruit cups/bags. This tour was well worth the money spent.

It's not worth the money. Buses come around between 40 min to an hour. When you get on the bus, the bus sits there until the operator goes around and collect from those who do not have any existent tickets. I'm writing this review as I'm sitting on the bus for over 20 minutes waiting for it to move and that's on top of waiting 57 minutes for the to arrive!

I did the combination tour of Hollywood & movie stars homes. The cost was about $75. The Hollywood tour was pretty informative. We passed Paramount studios, Capitol Records, a big concert theatre (forgot the name), Walk of Fame, The hotel from Pretty Woman, and a few more spots. I wish our tour guide was a bit more enthusiastic and had more "up-to-date" information to share with us. But I guess it's the history of the place and how it came about, so I can't REALLY complain. A lot of people expect Hollywood to be this upscale, dashing place but it's actually kind of dirty and run down! I don't mind, I think it adds character but that's just to forewarn any future visitors. Also, our tour guide was a bit of a downer. The movie stars tour was decent. It's 2 hours long, so it's pretty thorough. There's a lot of talk about celebrities and what not, but the closest we've got to a celebrities house was Katy Perry's and Michael Jackson's. Celebrities already know they're going to have people outside of their doorstep, so most of them buy homes in gated inaccessible communities or on top of hills where the busses aren't allowed to drive through. He did point out some celebrities homes from a far. Like Jlo, Pharrell, Britney Spears, etc. We drove through a couple towns too. Yeah. You probably won't see a celebrity. And you definitely aren't ENTITLED to see one. This is a tour of their homes and hangout spots. By no means are celebrities obligated to be in a certain place and stay there so the tourists can spot them. They're human, and they hang out where they want on their own time. Get over your entitlement if you're disappointed and post a bad review if you don't see one! I hate how they ask for a tip at the end. The tours are already so expensive and they guilt you into a tip. Absolutely ridiculous.

The company should remove the word "Star" from their name as they don't deserve 1 star. The worst thing is, the buses are ALWAYS late! For $50, I waited for a bus that was 45 minutes late!!! Tourists enough to fill 3 buses were in the queue which snaked around the block. There were crying babies, rude people, and when the bus eventually came, the impatient people were stepping all over eachother and wheeling strollers over peoples' feet to push onto the bus. Luckily I got onto the bus but saw 2/3 of the people stranded, left to fight their way onto another late running bus. During an evening with no traffic, I travelled on the slow bus and it took 1 hour to get somewhere that out have otherwise taken 10 minutes.

Amazing tour!! I got to see some of the most beautiful sites in Los Angles! The tour guide was funny and knew a lot about the houses he showed us. His name was Daren, I highly recommend taking his tour, best I've been on.

They sell you the ticket, they don't said that the AC is broken and is super dirty, never ever again

My wife & I recently took this tour. We were on our anniversary & honeymoon DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY The driver spoke very little English. He was rude, he didn't want to talk to the bus patrons, he consistently flew by a tourist spot, so u could take a picture DONT BE FOOLED

Not worth the money :( I was expecting a live tour host so there was some humor and personality. Ok fine, it's recorded, and not that insightful. And so so so so so out of date!! How hard can it be to re-do a few things on the recording every now and then. Like um, maybe take out House of Blues? And the promo stuff was for tv shows premiering in October. I want more fun facts!!!! Not pauses or simple lists of shows filmed at a studio that can't be seen bc the driver zoomed past at 40 mph. We missed a lot of stuff bc the audio didn't match up. Also, the bus was filthy. At the Dolby Theater stop, there were 2 busses with drivers doing nothing but playing on their phones. Couldn't they clean up the trash? Including half eaten apples.
