Madonna The Celebration Tour Setlist in Full 2023: Songs for concert at London The O2 Arena

Madonna Celebration Tour setlist

Madonna's The Celebration Tour is among the year's most eagerly anticipated live shows - here's everything you need to know about the tour as it hits the UK, Europe and North America.

Madonna 's The Celebration Tour kicked off at London's The O2 Arena on October 14 2023 as the first of six dates at the venue. Four will take place in October, followed by another two in early December after Madonna has criss-crossed Europe.

The tour was originally due to kick off in Toronto in July, but the singer was forced to postpone its launch after being hospitalised with a "serious bacterial infection" .

When the tour was announced in January, it was billed as "Madonna's artistic journey through four decades" and a show that "pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began". The pop icon said at the time: "I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for."

Given that Madonna has 72 UK Top 40 hits to choose from – including 63 UK Top 10s and 13 UK Number 1s – assembling a setlist was no mean feat. Little wonder she has recruited Stuart Price, the co-producer of her chart-topping 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor , as part of her musical crew.

With the Celebration Tour now in full swing, here's the setlist in full.

Fantastic show, but she had to cut Sorry, Oh Father and another song because of the technical issues at the start of Open Your Heart, otherwise the show wouldn't have finished by the 11pm curfew.

What is the point in calling this article the 'setlist in full' when you don't actually tell us a single track that we can expect? Just ask the cleaner to write for you, they couldn't do a worse job.

Edit:- Some surprising omissions, equally some surprising inclusions. Would have expected to see Material Girl and Frozen. Masterpiece is easily in my top 5 favourites, it is criminal that it never did better.

and what better way to greet the one and ONLY undisputed Queen of Pop with her very own Royal Standard Flag...

https://metro.co.uk/2023/10/11/madonna-gets-epic-royal-nod-as-celebration-tour-kicks-off-in-london-19645591/

"The Queen of Pop kicks off her Celebration tour at the 02 on Saturday and to mark the 65-year-old’s arrival in the capital the world-famous venue has created a Madonna-themed flag much like the Royal Standard flag.

The Royal Standard flag is flown at full mast whenever King Charles III is in residence at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle and Madonna’s flag will let everyone in London know she’s in town.

Made by the royal family’s very own flagmakers, Madonna’s flag will stay up throughout her five headline shows, in which the A-lister will belt out four decades of her biggest hits.

Steve Sayer, vice president and general manager at the O2, said of the idea: ‘The arrival of Madonna and The Celebration Tour in London is arguably the biggest UK event in pop music this year.

‘Madonna has been at the forefront of the genre and part of pop culture for four decades, and we’re very proud that this hotly anticipated tour kicks off right here at The O2. This Royal Standard flag feels like a fitting tribute to pop royalty, and the perfect way to kick off six incredible shows."

Madonna Finally Kicks Off Celebration World Tour In London

By Eve Batey

Madonna

It was a stressful summer for Madonna fans. Just weeks before her 78-stop career-retrospective Celebration World Tour was set to kick off in North America, the singer was rushed to a New York City hospital for a severe bacterial infection that prompted her to cancel that continent’s dates . But the 65-year-old icon and mother of six isn’t known as the hardest-working woman in show business for nothing, and on Saturday, she reclaimed the stage to rave reviews.

Madonna’s stop at London’s 20,000-seat O2 arena had been on the books since tour plans began, but when her health scare paused her Celebration schedule, Oct. 14 became its de facto kickoff date. This is her 13th tour, and her first since 2020; as the name promises, it’s intended as a celebration of her four decades of hits. An opening-night set list captured by Billboard suggests that the show lived up to its name: early songs like “Holiday” and “Burning Up,” career highs such as “Like a Prayer” and Vogue,” and 2000s-era entries like “Music” and “Bitch I’m Madonna” all made an appearance.

Of course, fans had to wait a bit to hear those hits. Technical difficulties meant the show was delayed by 30 minutes, the New York Times reports . Four songs in, yet another delay, prompting Madonna to say, “This is exactly what you don’t want to happen on your opening night, so this wasn’t planned. I’m sorry,” AFP reports .

While her crew worked to restore order, she regaled the crowd with some early-career anecdotes, including her days of housing struggles. “I had no way to take a bath,” she said of her younger days in New York. “So I would actually date men who had showers and bathrooms. Those were the days, and that is the truth.”

“I’m pretty damned surprised that I made it this far, and I mean that on so many levels. How did I make it this far? Because of you. I’m going to take a bit of credit, too.”

She also addressed her June health crisis, saying, “It was a crazy year for me and I didn’t think I was going to make it. I forgot five days of my life.”

“But the angels were protecting me and my children were there and my children always save me every time. And if you want to know a secret as to how I survived, I thought, ‘I have to survive for them. I have to survive for my children.’”

The hotly-anticipated show was met by critical praise—not a given for the star, who noted Saturday that “To age is to sin. I think the most controversial thing I’ve done is to stick around.” According to The Independent’s critic, Helen Brown , “I’ve sat through a couple of Madonna’s more robotic stadium shows in the past, feeling as though I was bearing witness to a seven-figure PowerPoint presentation from Brand Madonna. But at 65, the woman who once sang of wanting to “conquer and deliver and despise” the world has a renewed appetite for human connection.”

Writing for the BBC , Mark Savage says that Madonna “looked and sounded incredible throughout, moving from one elaborate set-piece to the next with conviction and power.” Variety’s Mark Sutherland agrees, writing, “Madonna still doesn’t know how to quit, boy, has she learned how to come back.”

Here’s how to get tickets for Madonna’s London shows

Bag yourself an audience with the Queen of Pop at her six London dates in October and December

Alice Saville

Huge news, Madonna fans: Her Madge is paying a royal visit to London’s O2 as part of her fortieth anniversary 2023 ‘Celebration’ tour. It’s a rare chance to see one of pop’s biggest names doing her first London gigs in three years, and tickets are selling fast, especially after the tour’s official trailer whipped up excitement by showing big-name celebs singing snippets of her back catalogue.

So here’s our handy guide to making sure you don’t miss out.

When is Madonna’s 2023 ‘Celebration’ tour taking place?

Madonna’s ‘Celebration’ world tour is a 58-date run in 35 cities beginning in Vancouver on July 15, and ending in London on December 6. There are now six London dates: after overwhelming interest in her October 14 show, Her Madge added extra performances on October 15, 17 and 18, plus two extra shows on Tuesday December 5 and Wednesday December 6. She’ll perform them all at the O2 Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000.

When do tickets for Madonna’s tour go on sale?

Tickets for the final date on Wednesday December 6 go on sale this week. To be in with a chance, be ready to book on Wednesday January 1 at 9am.

How can I get Madonna tickets?

Tickets for the ‘Celebration’ tour are available via Madonna’s website . The majority of tickets are now sold out, but luckily fans will have a final chance to cop the tickets to her London December performance tomorrow.

Why did she add five more shows?

Perhaps Madonna underestimated how much we love her here in the UK, as until recently she was only due to perform once at the 20,000 capacity O2. Thank God she added five more dates.

How much do Madonna tour tickets cost?

The official prices for the ‘Celebration’ tour were never officially released. But during the first release they started at a relatively affordable £47, but rose to £1,307 for the VIP package. However, most tickets are likely to be touted for at least three times the price. Viagogo is reportedly selling tickets with a face value of £400 for  £2,950  – more than seven times the price. Ouch!

Who is opening for Madonna on tour?

Special guest Bob The Drag Queen aka Caldwell Tidicue aka Christopher Caldwell will warm up the crowds. This non-binary American performer, author and activist shot to fame after winning the eighth season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’. They’re likely to perform their 2022 single ‘ Bitch Like Me ’ , as well as serving some fierce lewks (in the far distance).

Here are London’s 27 best nightclubs .

Brixton Academy has had its licence suspended for three months after two crowd-crush deaths .

Madonna adds fifth London date to 2023 The Celebration Tour

65th GRAMMY Awards - Show

Due to overwhelming demand, Madonna has added a fifth London date to her upcoming The Celebration World Tour.

The Like A Prayer hitmaker, 64, has sold-out 36 shows and counting across Toronto, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and more, with over 600,000 tickets sold.

The Celebration Tour will kick off on July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC, with stops in Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, and more before making its way to Europe where she will perform in 11 cities throughout the autumn, including Antwerp, Copenhagen, and Stockholm, among others.

Madonna will bring her highly anticpated tour to the UK on October 14, playing four nights at the London 02 Arena before returning for the latest added date on December 5 to wrap up the tour.

Tickets for the newly announced fifth London show will go on sale from Friday at 9am via her official website madonna.com.

Announcing the tour earlier this month on Instagram — after previously deleting all her posts to make way for the news — Madonna simply said: “Come join the party!”

“I am excited to explore as many songs as possible, in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”

A press release said the concerts “will take us on Madonna’s artistic journey through four decades and pays respect to the city of New York where her career in music began”.

Thank you and goodbye

madonna uk tour dates

Well it's been an eventful day for Madonna fans but, with most of the tickets sold for all four London dates, it feels like a good time to bring this blog to a close.

Read down the blog to find out what happened today, including ticket prices, fan reaction and more, or alternatively read a summary in our latest story here .

Limited tickets are still available now on Ticketmaster and LiveNation .

Thank you for joining me and I hope if you were trying to get London tickets today you were successful. If not, you could always try a Madonna-themed European city break like some other disappointed fans...

How much do you want to see Madonna?

Well it's almost 2pm, five hours after tickets for the first two London shows of Madonna's The Celebration Tour.

It feels like ages ago, and is certainly two 'surprise extra date announcements' ago.

The queues for tickets on Ticketmaster and LiveNation have gone from almost 200,000 at their peak to just a few hundred when I went in just now.

The error messages we were seeing earlier seem to have abated and some tickets are left for all dates - if you have a deep love for the Queen of Pop and, frankly, even deeper pockets.

We found a single £700 seat for Saturday's date, alongside these two which have a side view to the stage but are pretty much at the highest point of the O2 - to the extent they come with a warning for people who suffer with vertigo - for just shy of £1,000 a seat.

madonna uk tour dates

Suddenly those flights to Europe and tickets at a tenth of the price are quite tempting.

If you have got tickets for Madonna this October...

...now is the time to book your hotel if you possibly can.

Booking.com saw 93% of hotels close to The O2 Arena booking out for Saturday, October 14 before the first tickets even went on sale but a look this lunchtime at the dates announced for the rest of that week show things are booking up fast.

So far, checking Booking.com stats this lunchtime:

For Sunday, October 15, 92% of hotels in the vicinity of The O2 are booked out.

For Tuesday, October 17, 93% of hotels in the vicinity of The O2 are booked out.

For Wednesday, October 18, 89% of hotels in the vicinity of The O2 are booked out.

As earlier though, limited Travelodge rooms around the area are available, starting at £107.99 for a double room for a night.

For an extra £22, fans can get book flexible rooms that can be cancelled if you haven't got tickets yet.

London Docklands Central is the closest, just over half a mile from the doors of the arena and again can be flexibly booked just in case you don't end up going.

Meanwhile, Ticketmaster and LiveNation are still showing limited availability for all dates if you are still trying to secure your spot.

Fan reaction after a frenetic morning

Well whether you managed to get tickets or not, it's fair to say the dripfeed of new dates for Madonna's London shows at the O2 added a certain element of bedlam to trying to secure seats for what, for many, is the megagig of 2023 so far.

Lots of people on Twitter seem to have had the same issue I did, of getting into the new shows but finding no availability when they did, despite it being - for the Wednesday date - less than four minutes from when they went on sale.

Both Ticketmaster and LiveNation are still reporting limited availability across all four dates, with a slim possibility that fans could pick up tickets abandoned from baskets of people who decide against checking out when they see the final price.

Interestingly, Twitter comments that I can see seem to be much more fan disappointment at missing out or indeed slight outrage at the sky-high costs of some of the seats than the usual 'hooray I got my seats' - we saw much more of that kind of reaction during the Wednesday and Thursday pre-sales.

Perhaps the drip-drip release of individual additional dates has caused a little fan fatigue - there's certainly lots of people questioning why London is so expensive compared to other European venues. I foresee a lot of city breaks being booked this afternoon.

There is one happy customer in my feed which gives hope, I suppose.

How did you get on? Let me know via Twitter , email or comments on this blog.

Limited availability on all London dates now

I'm hoping people got a look in at the seats for Wednesday before I did - by the time I was at the front of the queue there was literally nothing available booking for two people together across any price bracket, much less the ones I'd actually feel comfortable paying.

The queue is still running on Ticketmaster and LiveNation but down at a relatively short 1,000 fans.

Have you had success? Let us know via Twitter , email or comments on this blog.

madonna uk tour dates

It feels a little Ticketmaster is gently trolling right now

When you join the music promoter's queue for the new date you get this cheery message on the bottom of the screen:

11:28 Due to overwhelming demand for Madonna, ticket availability is now extremely limited on some dates, and some ticket options will be unavailable. Good news! Another show has just been added on Wednesday, 18th October 2023.

It was never in doubt that the UK was home to a massive fanbase for the pop legend, but releasing dates like this is a bit exhausting and makes it difficult for fans to plan.

Ticketmaster and LiveNation now listing the new date. I'm currently 984 in the queue, I'll update with availability info on the new date shortly.

There's a FOURTH DATE for London now

If there was ever any doubt that the UK loved Madonna it is thoroughly dispelled now. A fourth date has been announced for London's O2 - Wednesday, October 18.

You know the drill, tickets coming up on Ticketmaster and LiveNation , probably in the length of time it takes for me to click post here. See you in the queue.

Tuesday availability already looking limited

I got in the queue for the Tuesday show pretty much as soon as it opened - I was certainly in it by the time I posted my last update at 10.55am.

I'm now at the front (at 11.15am) and able to look at what's still left to buy and the answer is, for me at least... nothing.

Every price bracket - seated, American Express premium and VIP options are all coming up with the error:

Something went wrong... An error occurred and we could not reserve your tickets.

Has something gone wrong or is it already sold out? Bear with me as I try and find out.

Alternatively, give it a try yourself on Ticketmaster and LiveNation - and let me know how you're getting on.

All three dates now live to buy

Head to Ticketmaster and LiveNation to join the queue. Ticketmaster currently at around 150,000 fans trying for tickets.

But we officially now have three London dates which, unless I've missed some announcements this morning - which, let's face it, is possible as it's been bedlam here - London is playing host to the most Madonna gigs in a single city for The Celebration tour so far.

If I'm wrong feel free to correct me via Twitter , email or a comment here and I'll amend but right now I had Madison Square Garden and Paris on two nights each along with possibly a couple of other North American venues.

But for now, we wait in queue for the third show. Any more for any more?

madonna uk tour dates

EXTRA SHOW ANNOUNCED

She's done it. An extra show for the O2 has been announced for Tuesday, October 17.

Tickets still on sale for the first two dates here at Ticketmaster and LiveNation . Stand by for confirmation when the Tuesday date goes on sale.

Cancel the flights to Copenhagen. For now.

Fans want more - time for an extra show?

madonna uk tour dates

Clearly two gigs in London is not enough. The queue for Ticketmaster is now over 180,000 with the firm warning availability is extremely low and suggesting fans check back later, presumably in case people look at the prices, decide against and tickets go back into the allocations pot on Ticketmaster and LiveNation .

Ingenious fans coming up with alternatives to London

madonna uk tour dates

With both London dates now coming up, inevitably, as low availability within just half an hour of tickets going on sale, intrepid British fans have started looking further afield to see the superstar in action.

We've seen people discussing on Twitter how some of the mainland European dates are significantly cheaper than London, with some of them even being held at more intimate venues.

One fan has booked for Antwerp which is £100 cheaper than London and an option, if you fancy combining a Madonna gig with a city break away. We're also seeing people stating Paris and Amsterdam are significantly cheaper although we haven't been able to get into the relevant Ticketmaster sites to confirm.

I've always fancied Copenhagen as a place to visit, she's playing there too...

For now though, limited London options - at the pricier end from what we can tell - are still available via Ticketmaster and LiveNation . I think many of us are hoping for some more dates though.

170,000 currently queuing for two 20,000-capacity O2 dates

Say what you want about the Queen of Pop but people definitely still love her. 170,000 people are currently in the virtual queue for tickets.

Of course with The O2 Arena holding 20,000 as standard for a concert right now it looks like some people are going to be disappointed... Time for the diva herself to announce some extra dates, maybe?

If you want to join the queue, Ticketmaster and LiveNation are both up and working - so at least there's no technical difficulties to contend with so far, just epic demand for pop royalty.

What does £1,300 get you at a Madonna concert?

  • The Immaculate VIP package comes in at £1,307.75. Named after her Madgesty's album showcasing undoubtedly many of the hits you will get to enjoy on the night it includes:
  • One premium reserved ticket in the first 5 rows from the main stage
  • Exclusive access to behind the scenes tour led by your VIP Host
  • Group photo opportunity on the stage where Madonna will be performing a few hours later*
  • Priority check-in
  • Access to the pre-show reception with appetizers, beers, wines & softs
  • Themed décor & music playing your favourite hits
  • Red carpet entry & photo opportunity
  • Merch item designed & created exclusively for package purchasers

Crucially according to the small print the one thing it doesn't include is any artist involvement whatsoever. So if you were hoping for a picture of you and the Material Girl the best you can hope is managing a selfie during the show.

If you want one, or any other ticket, you can get it here on Ticketmaster , just click your preferred date.

But what do you think? Is it worth the money? Would you pay it? Let me know via Twitter , email or a comment on this blog.

Price brackets for Madonna's London O2 gigs confirmed

I've finally been able to get a look at the full standard ticket brackets for the gigs:

  • £46.55
  • £92.75
  • £141.95
  • £223.50
  • £276.75
  • £432.25

There are other VIP options which go up to a whopping £1,300 and include a host of extras but for a general ticket this is what you're looking at.

Floor seating is available at £276.75 and £432.25

Level one is available at £223.50, £276.75 and £432.25

Level four is apparently at all prices levels (although £276 is showing sold out)

Standing pit is £432.25. I know I'm old but for that money I'd really like a chair.

All these figures are for Sunday and the best available I'm being offered for a pair is still £141.95 with the warning of it being high up.

I'm using Ticketmaster but the tickets are available on LiveNation and may have a slightly different offering.

Scrub that...

We're IN! This is unexpected at 10.01, for once the Ticketmaster tech appears to have smiled upon us.

However news is a bit mixed. The cheapest seat we've been offered for a pair for Saturday is £141.95 each and comes with the not-exactly-reassuring note 'NB: SEATS ARE HIGH UP.'

Goodness only knows where the £44 ones are - possibly in the car park.

Going to take a look at availability for the Sunday now.

If you want your own tickets Ticketmaster and LiveNation are both now on sale.

Madonna The Celebration Tour tickets are on sale NOW

So far there are two dates available - Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15. There are rumblings as yet unconfirmed there may be others.

Our top tip is if you're worried about availability go for the Sunday date as it wasn't included in this week's pre-sales so far so there should be more tickets to choose from.

These are the all-important Ticketmaster and LiveNation links.

Let us know how you're getting on. We joined the queue at 9.46am and are now in the queue although so far back they've not told us what number we're at. Not sure this bodes well...

Join the virtual waiting room now

madonna uk tour dates

It's almost time for the long-awaited Madonna general sale and the Ticketmaster virtual queue is open.

No 9am virtual waiting room. Time for more coffee

Phew. I can go back to listening to my epic Amazon Music Madonna playlist.

If you are looking to see Madonna in London and stay over afterwards, now is a good time to be thinking about hotels - especially for those speculative extra dates.

Our sister site MyLondon reported hotel prices rocketing to up to £300 a night and Booking.com saw 93% of hotels close to The O2 Arena booking out before the first tickets even went on sale.

But if you're happy with a reasonably simple room a short distance away, Travelodges around the area start at £107.99 for a double room for a night and, for an extra £22, fans can get book flexible rooms that can be cancelled if they don't manage to get tickets for the mammoth show.

Ticket pricing for Madonna: The Celebration

It's always easier buying tickets if you have a rough idea of what you're going for in terms of price bracket before you reach the front of the virtual queue.

We have a good idea on pricing thanks to Wednesday and Thursday's pre-sales and, while some fans reacted furiously on social media to the most expensive tickets topping more than £1,000 each, there are cheaper options there if you're able to get in quickly.

Seated options start from £47.55 with fees, going up to £432.25.

VIP packages meanwhile start at £729.75 and go up to £1,307.75 for what is, inevitably, named The Immaculate VIP Package.

The show will be a mixture of standing and seated tickets.

If you look at the seating plan below, the cheaper tickets, as you’d expect, will be round the edge in the green areas. Pink and blue standing areas are more expensive while the yellow, Golden Circle area is home to the most expensive tickets - including VIP packages.

The pre-sale link is here . We'll be keeping an eye at 9am in case the virtual waiting room surprises us all and launches earlier than anticipated.

Speculation on new dates... no, even more new dates

madonna uk tour dates

When Madonna announced this tour there were definitely some eyebrows raised among fans that there was just one UK date which, paired with a lengthy gap between her Saturday night at The O2 and her move into mainland Europe raised speculation of additional UK dates.

Like the maverick she is she took everyone by surprise and announced one, on Sunday, October 15, late last night but there is still further speculation that another couple of dates may be incoming once the first two go on sale.

Right now the tickets going on sale at 10am on Ticketmaster and LiveNation are just for Saturday and Sunday but fans with nerves of steel - or who already have plans that weekend - may yet get another chance for seats if they're happy to pay for tickets.

Key things you need to know for today's general sale

Anticipation is high this morning as general sale tickets for Madonna's UK leg of her greatest hits tour, The Celebration, are finally launched.

If you tried to get tickets during Wednesday and Thursday's pre-sales but were disappointed here's the key timings - and our top tips - on what you need to know to maximise your chances.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Ticketmaster and LiveNation but, as with other major ticket launches, we're expecting the virtual waiting room queue to be available from at least half an hour before. To be safe we'll be checking from 9am so if it opens earlier than expected you'll hear it here as soon as we know.

As someone wise once said - although possibly not about a situation like this - failing to prepare means preparing to fail. So, first off, if you've bought through Ticketmaster before check you can log in, that (if you have one) your credit or debit card attached to the account is current and you're not going to be trying to pay with an out-of-date card, and that your home address is right and, crucially, the same as the billing address for the payment method you're going to use .

Not a member of Ticketmaster yet? Sign up now and fill in all of these these things so you're not desperately trying to do it while watching a clock tick down telling you how many minutes you have before your much-wanted tickets are released back into the general pool for someone else to buy.

Once you're ready to join the waiting room, consider using multiple devices - ideally one on Wifi and one or 4G or 5G so if you lose signal on one you have a back up.

Also, keep watching this blog as we'll give you information on seating options, ticket prices, any additional dates and much more.

Many fans were left disappointed as they got to the front of the queue only to find tickets were either sold out or at an extremely low availability. A call for more dates from fans was meet with Madonna announcing that she will be playing at the O2 Arena for a further two nights. It comes after the Holiday singer announced a second date last night, on October 15, 2023.

Madonna to kick off rescheduled Celebration world tour in UK after health scare

The Like a Prayer singer was supposed to start her tour in mid-July in Canada but was forced to postpone performances after she contracted a serious bacterial infection at the end of June.

Madonna has paid tribute to her brother, pictured here performing in 2019

Madonna has announced rescheduled dates for her upcoming tour - with her her first performance to take place in London.

The Queen of Pop's Celebration tour, marking 40 years in the music industry, will now kick off at the sold-out O2 arena on 14 October, three months after it was originally supposed to begin in Canada.

The 64-year-old singer was forced to postpone the North American leg of her tour after she came down with a serious bacterial infection in late June.

The Hung Up singer spent several days in intensive care and continued her recovery at home - but now her shows can go ahead as entertainment company Live Nation confirmed her tour dates.

Her European leg will be as planned, commencing in London over four days in October.

In a space of less than two months she will travel to Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Paris and other major European cities before culminating in the O2 once again with two more concerts in December.

Madonna will then fly to North America where New York will host her on 13 December, before she takes the stage in Boston, Toronto and LA, ending up in Mexico City in April next year.

Due to the rescheduling, five North American shows were cancelled including a December gig in Nashville, Tennessee, and one in January in Las Vegas.

Before that, Madonna expressed gratitude saying she felt "lucky to be alive" following the health scare and praised her children who had supported her throughout the ordeal.

On Instagram, the star wrote: "When the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference."

In a previous post where she was " on the road to recovery ", she thought of her fans as she said: "I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour."

Madonna has had a number of previous health scares impacting her performance schedule.

In 2019, she cancelled dates on her Madame X tour on "doctors' orders" after suffering "overwhelming pain".

She also pulled out of the first London show of the Madame X tour , scheduled for January 2020, after revealing she had been "plagued" with injuries since the beginning of the tour.

I have been seeing Madonna concerts for many years and she always puts on a great show ! She is an excellent performer. The Madame X show was very close and personal. She played mostly from her new album with some old favorite hits. Due to injuries and her age, she does not move around and dance like in previous shows. She also looked unexpressional due to work on her face.

Start time was 10:30 and she came on a little after 11. There was a Portuguese band beforehand playing some of her songs which was very nice.

Overall, a good show. She had her daughter with her on stage which was a sweet touch. Madonna as always was outspoken about the President and current politics which is her freedom of speech. However, I did not go to hear political views, but to see her perform her music.

She always has a god message to inspire others to make a difference in the world. I love how she stands up for women and gay rights. I love Madonna and always will !

It was my very first Madonna concert. I paid my most expensive ticket fees, 2!week salary, to get a Mezzanine section in my he Wiltern theater, Los Angeles (LA) when the tour was first announced, 6 months mabe.About the his venue, no AIr Condition for entire night outside or inside the theater. No comments no apologies from the facility. It might be always under this condition or just one night, I am not sure. About the production, nothing special, small stage, recycled props and pretty much the same dance moves. Madonna has a beautiful voice as ever but this show very disappointed me per all of my expectations. I recently attended Lady Gaga and Pinks (2 times), Aerosmith (2times). I would rate these shows 10 times better than Madonna in LA. To true fans who don’t make much money it is better to skip this show to retain a better memory about Madonna shows of old time.

I ran out of air the breath inside the theater so I left toward the end of the show when the stage turned totally dark. I could said the the show affected me negatively financially and emotionally. Thank you for reading.

AMAZING!!! Love that she engages a lot with the audience. The track list was fantastic...the small theater experience was hard to adjust at first because I’m so used to her large stadium/arena productions, but it all changed when she started talking and explaining her reason for this production. I had many favorite moments for example, Vogue was fun, no remix just the original song performed, the Batuka ladies where fantastic, Frozen was so beautifully done, her Fado club was section was cool. Everything about this theater experience was great...I can’t wait to see it again in Vegas next weekend. I highly recommend it!

Madonna is wrapping up her current concert tour over the next few days with a trilogy of shows in Mexico City. Prices have been climbing over recent days, so you'll have to be sharp if you want to buy Madonna tickets for these dates while you can for the The Celebration Tour.

Before she takes her final bow of the Celebration Tour concert series in April 2024, Madonna will have performed 52 shows across 27 cities in the US, Canada, and Mexico. While many dates earlier in the tour were available for under $100, these final dates will cost you at least $245 at the time of writing. Still, it's a few grand cheaper than the Swifties have been paying this year.

  • More events: Olivia Rodrigo tickets | Taylor Swift tickets | Adele tickets | Rolling Stones tickets

With the concert series being a retrospective celebration of her iconic career, The Celebration Tour's setlist unsurprisingly includes plenty of Madonna's timeless hits. Songs like "Like a Prayer," "Vogue," "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," and "Like a Virgin" have been performed across various dates on her tour.

We've got you covered if you're still looking for tickets to Madonna's Celebration Tour. Here's our breakdown of Madonna's remaining 2024 tour schedule, purchasing details, and original and resale ticket prices. You can also browse the available tickets for sale on StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

How to buy tickets for Madonna's 2024 concert tour

Madonna tickets have been on sale for a while now, so all original ones via Ticketmaster are long gone.

However, Madonna tickets are still available through verified resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats .

How much do Madonna tickets cost?

The price for standard original tickets to Madonna's 2024 tour varies depending on date, location, and demand. For example, concert dates in major cities like New York City tend to be more expensive.

Standard original tickets still available on Ticketmaster a few weeks ago  were comparable to prices on verified resale platforms. However, the remaining original tickets have all been snapped up though, so resale vendors are your only hope now.

The Celebration Tour originally had VIP tickets available for premium prices. Madonna's 2024 concert series had The Immaculate VIP Package, Iconic VIP Package), You Can Dance Premium Ticket Package, and Where's The Party Premium Ticket Package. The prices for original tickets for each package on Ticketmaster started at $1,750, $895, $545, and $475, respectively.

Who is opening for Madonna's tour?

Madonna has not announced any additional opening acts for her 2024 concert dates. However, the artist is joined by Bob the Drag Queen, a special guest in each of her shows, who helps introduce the concert and interacts with Madonna as the emcee.

Madonna's 2024 tour began with the international leg in Europe, so the only remaining concerts in The Celebration Tour outside the United States are in Mexico.

In April, she'll have five performances in Mexico City, where she'll take her final bow of The Celebration Tour on April 26.

Madonna faces another lawsuit over late starts on Celebration tour

Madonna is being sued again over late starts to her live shows on her Celebration tour .

Concertgoers in Washington DC accused the Queen of Pop of showing “total disrespect for her fans” by arriving on stage two hours late . The lawsuit comes just weeks after Madonna filed a motion to dismiss a similar case concerning tour dates in Brooklyn , New York .

The second lawsuit was filed in DC federal court last Friday (April 19), according to Billboard . Three fans claim that the singer broke the law by arriving on stage two hours late at two performance dates at the Capital One Arena in December 2023.

Complainants accused Madonna and entertainment giant Live Nation of exercising “false advertising” by listing the time on the ticket as 8.30pm, when the singer reportedly arrived on stage at approximately 10.40pm instead.

Lawyers for the fans wrote: “Forcing consumers to wait hours for her performance in a hot, uncomfortable arena is demonstrative of Madonna’s arrogant and total disrespect for her fans.

“In essence, Madonna and Live Nation are a consumer’s worst nightmare.”

They added: “This complaint is not about unhappy fans who don’t want to stay up late, but instead, reasonable, responsible people who had commitments to babysitters, work, getting their vehicles out of parking lots that closed at 12.00 midnight, and realising that public transportation would no longer be operating.”

According to the filing, when the “Like A Prayer” singer arrived on stage, she told those in attendance: “I am sorry I am late… no, I am not sorry, it’s who I am… I’m always late.”

The Independent has contacted Madonna’s representatives for comment.

It comes weeks after Madonna filed a motion to dismiss a similar lawsuit , which fans in Brooklyn filed against Madonna and Live Nation in January for a show on 13 December where she reportedly arrived on stage two hours later than expected.

According to court filings, Madonna’s lawyers called to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the fans’ claim of having to “get up early to go to work” after the concert ended at 1am was not an “injury” worth damages.

Lawyers also argued that a fan wouldn’t expect Madonna to appear on stage for her Celebration tour at the time printed on the ticket as she had “years-long history” or “arriving several hours late to prior concerts” .

They also pointed out that “nowhere” on the ticket did it advertise that Madonna would start the show at 8.30pm and no reasonable concertgoer could expect the headline act to take the stage at the ticketed time.

“Rather, a reasonable concertgoer would understand that the venue’s doors will open at or before the ticketed time, one or more opening acts may perform while attendees arrive and make their way to their seats and before the headline act takes the stage, and the headline act will take the stage later in the evening,” they argued.

The fans claimed they would not have paid for tickets had they known what time Madonna would arrive on stage.

They argued that the delay, which they alleged happened again at the singer’s subsequent shows in Brooklyn on 14 December and 16 December, was a “wanton exercise in false advertising, negligent misrepresentation, and unfair and deceptive trade practices”.

They claimed the show ended at 1am, leaving them with “limited public transportation, limited ridesharing, and/or increased public and private transportation costs”. Some were left “stranded in the middle of the night”, they said.

Throughout her Celebration tour, Madonna has given fans an autobiographical insight into her life and career, detailing her sexual awakening, her punk roots, her experiences before becoming famous, and her friendship with Michael Jackson.

In The Independent ’s five-star review of the tour , critic Helen Brown writes that the tour is a reminder of why the “Queen of Pop still reigns”.

Madonna reflects on end of 'entire artistic career' after celebrating her children for support after near-death experience

The "vogue" singer is a mom of six, all of whom have made appearances on the celebration tour.

Ahad Sanwari

Madonna's four decade-long career-spanning world tour, The Celebration Tour , is nearly at its conclusion . After opening last October following months of delay, the tour finally wrapped its planned list of shows last week.

The 65-year-old played Mexico City on April 26, bringing out celebrity guest Salma Hayek for the concert's voguing segment ( dressed in a Frida Kahlo-inspired outfit ), and shared a new social media post looking back on her expansive tour and legacy as an artist.

The last show of the tour ended in Mexico City in the most magical way," she wrote. "Frida Kahlo came to visit and made me the happiest girl in the world!"

"Not only was my show complete in Mexico – but my entire artistic career!!" Madonna penned. "For she has always been my eternal muse cheering me on through the good times and the bad."

She shared a word of gratitude for Salma and her fans, adding: "Thank You @salmahayek for making it possible. And Thank You to my fans, not only in Mexico but all over the world. We did it together!! 80 shows! I feel Love."

Days before the final show, Madonna shared another post that celebrated her six children, all of whom have been involved with The Celebration Tour in some way, particularly her four youngest, David, Mercy James, and her twins Stella and Estere .

She shared her undying love for her children, especially in the wake of her experience with a serious bacterial infection last year, which caused the opening of the tour to be delayed by three months.

"On the day before our 80th show of the Celebration Tour I need to acknowledge my incredibly talented children who carried me through this journey, each of them bringing their own unique talent to the stage," she lovingly wrote.

"Rehearsals began over a year ago with almost a two month break waiting for me recover from a near death experience. They never stopped practicing… they never stopped cheering me on and supporting me."

"[Their] enthusiasm kept me going!!!" she continued. "They were also going to school and rehearsing every night!! I am so very proud of all of them."

The "Like a Prayer" hitmaker concluded with: "I think what my children learned the most this year of rehearsing and performing is that if you want to follow your dreams, you have to work hard for them. And if all of them choose something different later in life, they will never forget this year of blood, sweat, and tears. Nor will I. It's a CELEBRATION!"

Taylor Swift at the 2024 Grammy awards.

Taylor Swift equals Madonna’s record of 12 UK No 1 albums

Swift now has joint highest number of chart-toppers for a female artist, as The Tortured Poets Department earns biggest opening week in seven years

Taylor Swift has tied with Madonna to become the female artist with the most UK No 1 albums, earning her twelfth chart-topper with the global phenomenon that is The Tortured Poets Department.

Swift also dominates this week’s singles chart, with three songs in the Top Five including a No 1 for Fortnight, featuring Post Malone. It’s her fourth No 1 single, and her third chart double.

With 207,000 chart sales, a figure combined from streams and purchases, The Tortured Poets Department outsold the rest of the Top 10 combined and has the UK’s biggest opening week of sales in seven years, since Ed Sheeran’s ÷ in 2017.

Bruce Springsteen also has 12 No 1s, while the only artists with more are the Beatles (16), the Rolling Stones (14), Robbie Williams (14) and Elvis Presley (13).

No artist has got to 12 No 1s as swiftly as Swift, though – she did it in 11 years and six months, considerably quicker than the Beatles, who needed to wait until 1977’s The Beatles at Hollywood Bowl to get their 12th. Eight of those No 1s have been since 2020, partly thanks to her project to re-record her albums from an ill-fated deal with former label Big Machine.

The Tortured Poets Department, a 31-track, two-hour double album which includes songs that pick apart her recent relationships with actor Joe Alwyn and singer Matty Healy with unflinching candour, has further established Swift as the century’s biggest music star.

It became the most streamed album in a single day on Spotify, then the fastest album to reach a billion streams on the platform. Twenty-two of the 50 most streamed songs globally on Thursday were by Swift.

After three days on sale, Swift had sold 700,000 vinyl copies of The Tortured Poets Department in the US, breaking the weekly record (since records began in 1991). That number is particularly remarkable considering that around a million vinyl albums were sold in total in the US in 2023, with nearly 10% of those sold by Swift (chiefly her album Midnights).

The rest of the UK chart is put rather in the shade, but last week’s singles chart-topper Hozier manages to outsell a couple of Swift’s songs and sit at No 2. Swift’s recent tour support artist Sabrina Carpenter rises to No 5 with her peppy Espresso, now the second-most streamed track globally on Spotify.

In the album chart, Pearl Jam reach No 2 with Dark Matter to earn their tenth UK Top 10 album and joint-highest placing. UB40 reach No 5 with their album UB45, their highest placing since 1994. Thanks to a special Record Store Day release, Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours – spending its 1,042nd week in the UK charts – jumps up to No 9.

With TTPD out in the world, Swift now looks to the next leg of her Eras tour. After concluding the Asia and Australia leg with six nights at Singapore’s National Stadium in March, she will begin the European leg on 9 May with four nights in Paris. Eras reaches the UK on 7 June at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, and later includes eight dates at Wembley Stadium, equalling a record set by Take That.

According to data by US live music analysts Pollstar, Eras had already made over $1bn in revenue by the end of 2023, and estimates that by the end of the tour in December it will gross over $2bn – comprehensively beating the previous record of $939m set by Elton John’s farewell tour.

She will probably score her 13th No 1 album as early as 2024, with fans looking forward to her re-recorded version of 2017 album Reputation – a release date has not yet been announced.
