Miley Cyrus Announces New South American Show Dates; Drops New Video

On Thursday (October 28), everyone’s favorite Disney-star-turned-frontwoman Miley Cyrus announced a trio of upcoming live dates in South America. The shows mark Cyrus’ first time in the region in almost seven years, she says.

Cyrus tweeted the announcement, saying, “It’s been almost 7 years since I’ve played a show in South America! So excited to start 2022 off with you! I have a feeling these are gonna be FUN!.”

Those dates include:

Mar 18, 2022 Lollapalooza Argentina Buenos Aires, Argentina

Mar 23, 2022 Asuncionico Festival Asunción, Paraguay

Mar 26, 2022 Lollapalooza Brasil São Paulo, Brazil

And earlier in the week, on Sunday (October 24), the tongue-wielding singer, songwriter and performer released a new, spooky video for the Halloween season. The music vid is for the song, “Night Crawling,” from her 2020 LP, Plastic Hearts . And the song features singer, Billy Idol.

Miley Cyrus season is officially in full swing. A new era has finally begun but will there be an Endless Summer Vacation Tour ?

It's hard to believe it but it's now almost 10 years since Miley Cyrus went on her last world tour. In the time since, she ended her Bangerz Tour, Miley Cyrus has released multiple hit singles (' Malibu ', ' Midnight Sky ', ' Mothers Daughter '), multiple hit albums ( Younger Now , Plastic Hearts etc. ), an EP ( She Is Coming ) and a brilliant live album ( Attention ).

In January, Miley launched her Endless Summer Vacation era with the record-breaking number 1 single ' Flowers '. Now, the album is here and demand to see Miley perform live is higher than ever. What has she said about a potential tour though?

Is Miley Cyrus going on tour in 2023?

Will there be an Endless Summer Vacation Tour?

As it stands, Miley is yet to confirm whether or not she will be going on tour in support of her new Endless Summer Vacation album. However, given how much Miley loves performing live, and how popular 'Flowers' is, it seems very likely that a tour will happen.

Miley released her last album, Plastic Hearts , during 2020 when touring was still difficult due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the world more open now, we imagine that Miley will be eager to go on tour.

In the meantime, you can watch Miley perform songs from Endless Summer Vacation live on Disney+ in her brand new Backyard Sessions.

Endless Summer Vacation Tour dates: When is Miley Cyrus going on tour in 2023?

There is currently no information on if/when Miley Cyrus will go on tour. That being said, if she does do an Endless Summer Vacation Tour , it's possible that she will start the tour in spring/summer after the album comes out on March 10th. In other words, get your savings ready because you could be seeing Miley live imminently.

Miley Cyrus 2023 tour locations: What cities will Miley Cyrus play in?

Miley Cyrus is yet to reveal where she will next be going on tour. However, given that it's been almost an entire decade since her last world tour, we reckon that Miley will be aiming to play to as many of her fans as possible.

For her last world tour, Miley performed in Europe, North America, Oceania and South America. Our bet is that the Endless Summer Vacation Tour will feature dates in all of these places, in particular in the US and the UK.

Miley has done arena tours in the past and we imagine that her next tour will include arenas. That being said, given how popular 'Flowers' is, it's also possible that she will be considering playing stadiums this tour.

Miley Cyrus Endless Summer Vacation tour presale codes: How to find a presale code for your country

Miley is yet to reveal any presale information for an upcoming tour. However, most major artists use similar presale formats. If Miley follows in the footsteps of artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, she will probably have a Citi Verified Fan Presale in the US and an O2 Priority Presale in the UK.

Miley Cyrus Endless Summer Vacation tour ticket prices: How much will the tickets to Miley's tour be?

Prices for Miley Cyrus' next tour are yet to be confirmed. Tickets for her Bangerz Tour started at £47.50 in the UK and went up to £1000 for meet and greets. It's likely that Miley's new tour prices will be slightly higher given that she's only become more popular since Bangerz came out. We imagine that her prices will be similar to other major artists.

For comparison, these are the UK stadium prices for Beyoncé's upcoming Renaissance World Tour.

• Standing - £106.80
• Gold Circle - £177.50

Miley Cyrus Endless Summer Vacation tour setlist: What songs will she play?

Over the course of her legendary career to date, Miley has released seven studio albums, two EPs, multiple live albums and five soundtrack albums as Hannah Montana . With Endless Summer Vacation now here, Miley has hundreds of iconic songs to pick from.

Like most of Miley's previous tours, it seems likely that the Endless Summer Vacation Tour will mainly feature songs of the album it's promoting alongside her biggest hits. Expect to hear 'Flowers' alongside the likes of 'Midnight Sky' and 'The Climb'.

Miley Cyrus is back in Los Angeles , currently recovering from COVID-19 after testing positive for the virus, following her recent tour in South America and facing a number of difficult situations, including an emergency landing and health issues.

The 29-year-old rock star explained that she loved every second of her tour, which was also her first in seven years , performing in Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Colombia.

“Traveling around the world, playin for 100,000 people a night & meeting hundreds of fans a day the chances of getting Covid are pretty high,” Miley admitted, adding that she has “Covid now but it was definitely worth it.”

Miley was forced to cancel her performance at Janie’s Fund on Sunday, hosted by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.

Miley Cyrus has tested positive for COVID-19 following her recent tour of South America. But the pop singer has no regrets: “Traveling around the world, playin for a 100,000 people a night & meeting hundreds of fans a day the chances of getting Covid are pretty high. I have Covid now but it was definitely worth it,” Cyrus tweeted on Friday.

Last month, Cyrus embarked on her first South American tour in seven years, headlining festivals including in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Brasil. The latter performance proved especially emotional, as it came just a day removed from the death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins . Cyrus dedicated her set in honor of Hawkins .

Due to her bout with COVID, Cyrus has canceled her scheduled appearance at a Grammys watch party hosted by Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler . “[It] sucks because it’s a charity that’s super important to me & my friend Steven Tyler,” Cyrus added . “I am feeling fine so don’t worry about me! Sorry Steven! We’ll have to ‘Walk This Way’ another time!”

There won’t be any “Hoedown Showdowns” with  Miley Cyrus  for a while. On Friday, the singer — who recently returned to the United States following several headlining appearances at music festivals across South America — shared that she had tested positive for  Covid -19.

“Traveling around the world, playin for a 100,000 people a night & meeting hundreds of fans a day the chances of getting Covid are pretty high,” Cyrus tweeted. “I have Covid now but it was definitely worth it.”

During her stops in Colombia, Chile, Brazil and Argentina, Cyrus was seen meeting with fans backstage and getting close to packed crowds as she performed throwbacks such as “Wrecking Ball” and “Party in the U.S.A” alongside tracks from her latest album,  Plastic Hearts .

Due to her diagnosis, Cyrus said she will no longer perform at the Janie’s Fund Grammys watch party on Sunday, which aims to help “take care of abused and neglected girls.”

“[It] sucks because it’s a charity that’s super important to me & my friend Steven Tyler,” Cyrus tweeted. “I am feeling fine so don’t worry about me! Sorry Steven! We’ll have to ‘Walk This Way’ another time!”

Cyrus has been open about getting vaccinated. Following the Super Bowl in 2021, she penned a letter to fans where she wrote, “Each of us can help stop the pandemic by being vaccinated. Together we can make the experience of live music a reality again.”

During her South America stint, Cyrus’ plane was  struck by lightning  while attempting to land in Paraguay, where she was scheduled to headline the Asunciónico festival. “Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting,” the singer  wrote on Instagram . “My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing. We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay.” The festival was later canceled entirely due to inclement weather.

Miley Cyrus Releases New Live Album 'ATTENTION: MILEY LIVE'

The album was recorded at Cyrus' Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA.

Following an onslaught of headlining festival appearances across North America and South America, which saw her perform to a cumulative crowd of nearly one million, multi-platinum selling recording artist, songwriter and trailblazer Miley Cyrus has released her first ever live album. Titled ATTENTION: MILEY LIVE, the live album, a gift to her fans, features 20 songs.

ATTENTION: MILEY LIVE features classic Miley songs from every era and for the first time ever, her brand-new songs "ATTENTION" and "You". Miley first treated fans to "You" at her NBC New Year's Eve television special "Miley's New Year's Eve Special Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson." All songs were performed by Miley including songs recorded at the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest - Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, CA in February 2022.

Miley recently completed major shows throughout South America for the first time in over a decade with headlining slots at Lollapalooza festivals in Argentina, Chile and Brazil. She drew the largest audience in the history of Lollapalooza Brazil with 103,000 in attendance. Her fans, known as the Smilers, flocked en masse to the airports to greet her posted up in the streets singing her songs and chasing her car, and gathered outside of her hotel in preparation for her shows; see footage here and here . The Gypsy Heart Tour was announced by media outlets on March 21, 2011, following Cyrus' appearance on Saturday Night Live . Initial tour dates were announced in South America. Dates in Australia, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Panama and Mexico soon followed. During an interview with OK! , Cyrus said she would not bring the tour to the United States due to not feeling comfortable to perform in the country. Many media outlets believed this was due to Cyrus' personal life. She commented: 

"I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don’t know if they want me to tour or not. Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me. I'm kind of going to the places where I get the most love. I don’t want to go anywhere where I don’t feel completely comfortable with it." 

Cyrus stated the tour would not be in the same vein as her previous efforts. She said her previous tour, Wonder World Tour , focused more on theatrics and costume changes. The singer wanted the show to focus on the music and letting the audience see a different side of her that is not portrayed on television. She said the show would feature an acoustic section, along with taking requests from the audience.

After the start of sales for the Miley Cyrus concert at River Plate Stadium in Argentina, were successful. The first day in charge announced that sales had been more than 30,000 entries, which was a record in sales since the stadium has a capacity of 64,000 people. She quickly managed to sell all the tickets and for the May 6, 2011 the stadium was full and even 1,000 fans were left out, making the singer Miley Cyrus as the second woman to fill the River Plate Stadium after Madonna. After the concert, the media and international critics applauded the great success of Miley Cyrus since she was 18 and even compared to other young artists like Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato have not had much luck in completing their concerts. Miley Cyrus Just Dropped A Bombshell About Her 'Bangerz' Tour: 'Didn't Make A Dime'

Miley Cyrus ‘ “Used to Be Young” TikTok video series keeps on delivering the true story behind many of her biggest hits and most public moments, and the latest revelation centers on her massive 2014  Bangerz tour .

The singer divulged that she was the one who funded most of the tour, stating in reference to the pushback she received from executives, “I said there’s no one I would rather invest in than myself. So I paid for it all to make it exactly what I thought I and the fans deserved.”

2014’s Bangerz Tour Was The Biggest Of Miley’s Career To That Point

Miley’s  Bangerz tour was her fourth concert tour, which launched in support of her fourth studio album,  Bangerz (2013). The globe-trotting concert series featured dates in North and South America, Europe, and Oceania through five different tour legs from February 14th to October 23rd, 2014, and was the singers biggest tour of her career to date. The Bangerz tour famously featured rather sexual imagery, kicked off by her tongue-wagging, Robin Thicke-twerking appearance on the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

The  Bangerz tour received good notes from critics, who described it (positively) as “campy,” “surreal,” and “raunchy,” praising Miley‘s stage presence, singing, originality and quirky performance design. During an interview in July 2014, the “Flowers” singer said that her goal with the concert series was to make something “really fun,” “real,” and that had a “good energy about it.”

She added, "I think the best thing for an artist is to see people sing along to your songs, and also to have people participating in your show...this show is a really hard show to not want to get up and be involved...there's a feminist energy there, and if people enjoy taking a chance and coming to a show that's different, I really appreciate that. I hope my fans are kind of inspired by my show to take it to the next level."

Though it made $68.9 million at the box office and was the 16th highest-grossing concert tour of 2014, Miley recently said in her "Used to Be Young" video series on TikTok that she "didn't make a dime" from the  Bangerz tour, because she "wanted it to be excellent."

A lot of these ideas were kind of so outlandish that no one really wanted to support me in making these pieces," the multi-hyphenate said of the performance series, which featured a life-sized puppet of Big Sean, a massive show opening with Miley sliding down a giant slide in the shape of her own tongue, and even a giant flying hot dog. "So I had big puppets, oversized beds, I came out of my own face on my tongue...[executives asked me] 'Why are you doing this? You're going to do like 100 shows and not going to make any money.' I said, 'There's no one I would rather invest in than myself.' So I paid for it all to make it exactly what I thought I and the fans deserved."

The  Black Mirror actress also shared the vision behind each performance's big ending, which saw Miley fly out of the performance on a humongous hot dog through clouds toward an "Exit" sign. "I wanted to end it in a Truman Show reference," she said, referencing the classic 1998 Jim Carrey movie about a man who finds out his life has all been one big reality show. "So I flew out on a giant hot dog, obviously, and I left through all the clouds and the exit sign, the way Jim Carrey does, because I felt like The Truman Show was really a reflection of my life ." An apt comparison, considering the actress-singer grew up in front of us on television screens in Disney's  Hannah Montana .

Miley's video discussing the  Bangerz tour is the 30th part of her TikTok " Used to Be Young " series, where she has been sharing the backstories of famous images, songs, and moments from her life in the public eye. It's all in service of her latest single "Used to Be Young", in which she sings emotionally raw lyrics about the judgment she received in her very public youth and her being labelled a partier and wild child.

Of the song , the musician wrote, "This song is about honoring who we’ve been, loving who we are & celebrating who we will become. I feel proud when reflecting on my past and joyful when thinking about the future. I am grateful to my loyal fans who make my dreams a reality daily." She added, "I am sincerely thankful for the stability of your steadfast support. This song is for you."

Miley Cyrus has been experiencing some bad luck as of late. The "Angels Like You" singer was touring in South America for a series of music festivals when her plane got hit by lightning on March 23 while she was enroute to Paraguay.
