Itinerary: north east tour package.

On the first day of your tour, you will arrive at Guwahati airport or railway station from Kolkata. From there, you will proceed to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. The journey takes around 3-4 hours and covers a distance of approximately 100 km. On the way, you can enjoy the scenic beauty of Meghalaya's lush green hills and waterfalls.

Once you reach Shillong, you can check-in to your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, you can explore the local market and try out some local delicacies.

After breakfast on the second day, you will proceed to Cherrapunjee, which is around 54 km from Shillong. Cherrapunjee is known for its scenic beauty and receives the highest rainfall in the world. You can visit attractions like Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and the Living Root Bridge. You can also enjoy a trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, which is a unique natural wonder.

After a full day of sightseeing in Cherrapunjee, you will return to Shillong in the evening.

On the third day, you can explore the local attractions of Shillong. You can start with a visit to the Shillong Peak, which offers a panoramic view of the city. Best Time to Visit North East

November to April is the best time to visit the northeast due to the dry weather. When the monsoon rolls in, the roads become impassable and some of the regions like Kaziranga of Assam often experience flooding. The monsoon usually lasts between July to September. Summer is also a good time to visit the northeast if you don’t mind the warm temperatures between 30°C to 36°C. If you consider the northeast as a whole the temperatures vary wildly due to its diverse terrain. The mountains are generally cooler than the plains.
