How to Reset Flat Tire Warning on Infiniti Q50?

and give an informative, detailed answer to the question.

Flat tire warning systems are an important safety feature on Infiniti Q50s. This system alerts drivers of a flat tire, giving them time to safely pull over and assess the issue. If you have recently changed a tire, or the indicator has been lit up for some time, you may need to reset the flat tire warning system. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to reset the flat tire warning on your Infiniti Q50.

Step 1: Check Your Tire Pressure

Before you begin to reset the flat tire warning system, you should first check the tire pressure of all four tires. Make sure that the pressure is within the manufacturer’s recommended range. If the pressure is too low, you should inflate the tire to the recommended pressure level.

Step 2: Locate the Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS)

The Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) is located in the engine bay of the Infiniti Q50. It is a small plastic box with a black cover. This is the control unit for the tire pressure monitoring system.

Step 3: Activate the TPMS Reset Button

The TPMS reset button is located on the top of the black cover. To activate the reset button, press and hold it for 5 seconds. This will reset the flat tire warning system.

Step 4: Check the Tire Pressure Warning Light

After you have reset the TPMS, you should check the tire pressure warning light on the dashboard. If the light is still illuminated, there may be an issue with the tire pressure sensors. In this case, you should have the system checked and repaired by a professional.

Step 5: Monitor Tire Pressure

Once the flat tire warning system has been reset, it is important to regularly monitor the tire pressure. You should check the pressure of all four tires every few weeks. This will help ensure that your tires are properly inflated and the warning system is working correctly.

Tools Needed for TPMS Reset

  • Infiniti Q50
  • Tire Pressure Gauge

Benefits of Resetting TPMS

Resetting the TPMS on your Infiniti Q50 has several benefits. It will help ensure that the tire pressure warning system is working properly and alert you to a flat tire in time to safely pull over. Additionally, it can help improve fuel efficiency by ensuring that the tires are inflated to the correct pressure levels.

Tips for Resetting TPMS

  • Always check the pressure of all four tires before resetting the TPMS
  • Make sure the pressure is within the manufacturer’s recommended range
  • Use a Tire Pressure Gauge to accurately check the pressure of the tires
  • Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when resetting the TPMS

Common Problems with TPMS

The most common problems with TPMS systems include faulty tire pressure sensors, incorrect calibration of the system, or a faulty control unit. If the TPMS reset does not fix the issue, you should have the system checked and repaired by a professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the flat tire warning on infiniti q50.

The Flat Tire Warning system on the Infiniti Q50 is a feature designed to alert you when one of your tires is losing air pressure. This system uses a combination of sensors, including those in the wheel assembly, to detect a tire that is significantly under-inflated. When a tire is detected as low on air, the system will alert you with a warning light on the dashboard.

The Flat Tire Warning system is designed to help you maintain the optimal air pressure for your tires and keep your Q50 running safely and smoothly. By monitoring the air pressure in your tires and alerting you when it drops, you can avoid dangerous situations on the road caused by an under-inflated tire.

How do I Reset the Flat Tire Warning on my Infiniti Q50?

The first step to resetting the Flat Tire Warning system on your Infiniti Q50 is to fill each of your tires to the correct air pressure. You can find the recommended pressure for your tires in your Q50’s owner’s manual or on the inside of the driver’s side door. Make sure all of your tires are inflated to the same pressure and that it matches the recommended value.

Once all the tires are properly filled, start the engine on your Infiniti Q50 and press the “reset” button on the dashboard. This should reset the system and turn off the warning light. If the light does not turn off, you may need to drive for a short period of time for the system to reset itself. If the light does not turn off after driving for a few minutes, you should contact a professional for assistance.

What Should I Do if the Flat Tire Warning Light Does Not Turn Off?

If the Flat Tire Warning light does not turn off after you have reset the system and filled your tires to the correct pressure, it is possible that there is an issue with the system itself. In this case, it is best to contact a certified Infiniti mechanic to inspect the system and diagnose the problem.

The mechanic may need to replace any faulty parts, reset the system, or recalibrate the sensors. If the problem is not with the system itself, the mechanic will likely suggest that you check the tire pressure again to make sure it is correct. Once the problem has been identified and fixed, the warning light should turn off.

What Else Can I Do to Avoid Flat Tire Warning Light?

Besides resetting the Flat Tire Warning system on your Infiniti Q50, you can take other steps to avoid having the warning light appear in the first place. It is important to regularly check your tire pressure and make sure that each tire is properly inflated. It is also important to check for any cracks or damage on the tires and replace them if necessary.

If you have problems keeping your tires properly inflated, you may want to consider investing in tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). These systems use sensors to monitor the pressure in your tires and alert you when it drops. This can help you avoid flat tires and the associated warning light.

What Should I Do if the Tire Pressure is Too High?

If you accidentally fill your tires with too much air pressure, it is important to let some of the air out until it reaches the correct level. Over-inflated tires can lead to impaired handling and increased wear on the tires. You can use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in your tires and make sure they are properly inflated.

It is also important to remember that the correct tire pressure can vary depending on the type of tire and the weight of the vehicle. Make sure to check your vehicle’s owner’s manual to find the recommended tire pressure and adjust accordingly.

Another "after battery change" mystery!

Add this one to the list of changing the battery mysteries! Changed out the battery in my '08 FX with Sport & Tech packages yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all my radio pre-sets remained. The only thing I noticed that reset was my trip odometer on the dash. The main trip odometer in the nav screen remained untouched. Now here's my problem.....the auto tilt steering wheel function no longer works. The box is still checked off in the Vehicle Systems set up to have the column retract when exiting the vehicle. This is how I had it set up prior to the battery replacement. I tried resetting it to no avail....the tilt/tele works if I use the switch wit no troubles....just the auto up/down feature doesn't work anymore..... Tried resetting the memory on the seats etc also...maybe I was doing that procedure wrong though now that I think of it. Anyone experience this??

Pretty sure disconnecting the battery will lose memory states and steering wheel lift position settings.

+1 on that, disconnecting the battery for more than 5 minutes will cause all systems to reset, seats, steering wheel, radio. Unless you did it under 5 minutes then this is in deed a mystery.
I get that but after starting car after changing the battery, the steering wheel was in its upper retracted position. After it didnt go down automatically, I used the switch to lower it. You would think that after this initial seting that the wheel would then retract when key turned off & door opened on the next cycle? Tried it a few times & it still doesnt work. Stays in the down position & doesnt retract up... radio settings all stayed set.....only thing that reset was trip odometer on dash.... Im stumped!
Try this: turn key to on position, in your vehicle electronic settings, reset everything to factory settings. Fire up the car (door closed). After a minute it so, turn off, get out and let it sit for 10+ minutes. Return to the car, perform memory seat adjustment, then in the system check/uncheck features the way you had them. When done, let it sit for 10+ minutes. Come back and see if this worked. If not, then I suggest disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if the system reset as it should.

I believe make all seating adjustments first, then save seat and steering wheel settings. From the center console menu, you have to enable something like "auto seat".
Thanks all. I will try these later today & report back.
Yep, you do need to save seat and steering wheel settings in order fit it to work.
Well its FIXED! Guess what I had to do to fix it...... DRIVE THE TRUCK! Thats it. Drove it around the block, got back home, turned off truck & got out....viola! Steering wheel retracted & all is right with the world again. Sheesh!!

geosur said: ↑ ------------------- I know this is a very old post, but it will help others who have the same problem. Please read your owners manual (page 3-32 to 33 of '07 FX35) if you can't get your steering wheel or seat to retract upon opening the door. If you have disconnected the battery or pulled the fuse to check it, you will have to activate this feature. First, make sure you have checked the first 2 setting in your VEHICLE ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS which is "adjust seat and lift steering wheel upon exiting vehicle". The key must be all the way on, but vehicle not started to find this in your settings screen. Next adjust your side mirrors, seat and steering column to your comfortable driving position and then store to memory. You will know if it took, if when you later press the set button on the door and 1 and 2 lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. If there is only a flash, then it didn't take. Now, there is the last step . It involves taking your emergency key out of your fob and inserting it in the ignition in the locked position. Do not turn the key. Merely, open and close your driver's door several times, and just like that it is activated. The seat and wheel should start moving on you. Thee Infiniti is a complex vehicle and there are many crazy routines one must go through to set up the electronics. Most procedures are in the manual. Some are on YouTube... the ones the service department doesn't want you to know, like resetting the air bag light. Click to expand...

No trip "timer"

  • Add to quote

Hey guys I just got a q50 hybrid sport, and one thing I noticed there is no trip timer... Am I missing it? I have had 4 infinitis, including this, and they all have a trip odometer as well as a timer. I am obsessed with how long it takes to get to work, so I love that timer. Anyone have any thoughts? Still learning how to use when the car, but so far, it seems pretty awesome. Thanks. This forum has been very helpful!

Its there. You have to go to in touch settings, meter, then main menu settings. In there can can turn the trip function on.

Awesome. I found that, but I can't reset the time. For the trip reset it only does it in the trip Odometer at the bottom of the dash screen, it does not change the time
