To much scams…please READ!

So whenever I use this app/ Safari it get these trackers and scammers to get my location and this is making me nervous. I installed ad blocker I think it’s called and I blocked some trackers which made me feel better. Every time you search something you usually get a scam or tracker. I do not like when people track me down. I rarely use this app because of the scams and risks. I think it is an OK app in general because it’s the people making these small BAD websites. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it could use work but it is pretty much like google. I use google way more because I feel like it is much safer than safari. I could be wrong… Safari could use some work with all these BAD websites. Can you block these bad websites? I would love to block these websites cause they are scary. Also watch out for nine anime/ 9anime websites… I searched up 9anime on safari and clicked a link. It looked safe but then these inappropriate pop ups kept coming. I immediately got off. I checked my ‘ How much trackers we have prevented’ or whatever it’s called it said that it had prevented 14 trackers from getting my IP address. This was good and bad news. I’m glad that safari and google can prevent these trackers but it is bad because this is dangerous. BE CAREFUL ON SAFARI!!!

Your Underrated Prince, Safari

In my humble opinion, Safari is the underrated king among multiple web browsers on the market. I was a PC devotee from ‘95 to ‘16, since then, it’s been all Tim Cook 🍎 all the time. My only regret is not purchasing a smartphone back in ‘07 from Steve Jobs. Presently, I own an iPhone 6s Plus in rose gold (2016), iPad Mini (2016), iPad Pro (2019) & MacBook (2018) in rose gold with matching Beats By Dre headphones. All four are set up with Safari, not Chrome, TOR, Brave, Edge, or DDGo. I love the ability to quickly save favorites, add to reading list & share content to other platforms. My favorites are alphabetized for quick reference & the reading list keeps all articles & pages in chronological order for quick recall. Also, I learned Safari quickly because it’s extremely user friendly. The browser helped my navigation of Apple when switching from PC. I’ll admit, learning MacBook isn’t easy, but, Safari keeps things familiar for me on the desktop. When lost, just go back to Safari & start over. It’s surprising no one in tech media mentions Safari more often as a go to source for navigating the internet. Chrome is the reigning king of, Land Of Browsers, without an heir apparent. I nominate Safari as the prince with future king potential. Citizens of Land Of Browsers don’t like their chrome-plated dirty laundry aired, sold or tracked.

I have been using this for years and had no problems with it. I ran over my phone with my lawn mower and was without my phone for over a year due to having to fight with the insurance company. However when I finally got a lawyer involved the insurance company finally replaced it for me. I DID not lose anything and I mean anything. I like the cards better because they are easier to clear out. You have to back everything up to your cloud every day or every other day so that you don’t have to worry about losing anything. As I always make sure that I back everything up just in case. It is not apples fault if you lose your any of your information it is yours for not backing up your phone to your cloud. So most of the people who write bad reviews either don’t back up or they just don’t or they just don’t care. Apple doesn’t charge a lot to add more space to your cloud so there is no reason why you can’t back you things. This is better than anything that google has. By far. If you want your information used by third parties then use google’s and quit complaining. You can change your browser in safari so that you don’t have to use them get with it you bad reviews and learn how to use safari.

Developer brings Snow Leopard’s Safari back from the dead, and it works on macOS Monterey

Apple’s response to the Safari compact tabs controversy involves decoupling the tab bar from the URL bar. But one developer took the matter into his own hands, making Safari 5 from OS X Snow Leopard available to use on any macOS version—including the macOS Monterey beta.

Developer Zane Kleinberg took it upon himself to recreate Safari 5, which was bundled with OS X Snow Leopard, for modern macOS versions like macOS Big Sur.

It can even be installed on the current macOS Monterey beta. Given the hole Apple dug itself into with the Safari 15 redesign across iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey, there could be a market out there for Safari 5.

We were thoroughly impressed with Zane’s work.

Not only was he able to recreate Safari 5’s interface to the tiniest detail, including the gradient window chrome, but also implement full browsing functionality. With Zane’s Safari 5, you can browse webpages, add ones you’d like to keep to your bookmarks, search the web with via a dedicated search bar and so forth.

Apple has officially started beta testing iOS 17.5 with developers and public beta users. The update brings a handful of new features and changes, and is expected to be released sometime next month. Head below for everything we know right now.

Based on previous years of iOS updates, I’d expect that iOS 17.5 will be released to everyone sometime in mid-May. Here’s a rundown of previous iOS x.5 update release dates:

• iOS 16.5 : May 18
• iOS 15.5 : May 16
• iOS 14.5 : April 26
• iOS 13.5 : May 20

So far, two iOS 17.5 betas have been released as of April 17.

• April 2 : iOS 17.5 beta 1, build number: 21F5048f
• April 16 : iOS 17.5 beta 2, build number: 21F5058e

What’s new in iOS 17.5?

While iOS 17.5 isn’t quite as big of an update as other iOS 17 updates, it still includes its fair share of new features and updates.

Within the European Union, the latest iOS 17.5 update introduces the capability to install applications directly from a developer’s website. Apple unveiled this new “Web Distribution” feature last month, explaining that it allows developers to distribute their iOS apps straight from their own websites.

To utilize this functionality, developers must opt into the updated App Store business terms, which requires paying a Core Technology Fee of €0.50 for every first annual installation exceeding one million in the preceding 12 months.

Any application disseminated through the web will still need to adhere to Apple’s notarization guidelines. Apps can only be installed from a website domain that the developer has registered in App Store Connect. Apple will also provide a range of APIs for developers to integrate with system functionality.

Apple has confirmed that iOS 17.5 beta includes support for Web Distribution. However, there are currently no developers offering their apps via this new Web Distribution feature. We don’t anticipate this changing until the public release of iOS 17.5 in May.

In the Apple News app, Apple News+ subscribers in the United States and Canada will find a new “Quartiles” word game after updating to iOS 17.5. The game prompts players to select from a grid of tiles to form words.

Quartiles is the third game to come to Apple News+, following the addition of daily crossword and crossword mini games that were added last year.

iOS 17.5 also adds Game Center integration to all three of the Apple News+ games. With this feature, you can now see leaderboards for each of the three games for Daily Solve Time and Daily Score stats.

iOS 17.5 beta 1 also includes a few small design changes that are worth pointing out:

• The Podcasts widget has been updated to have a new dynamic color that changes based on the artwork of the podcast you’re currently playing.

• In the Apple Books app, Apple has redesigned the “Reading Goal” icon in top navigation bar.

• In the Settings app, there is a new glyph for the “Passkeys Access for Web Browsers” menu under “Privacy & Security.”

Based on code discovered by 9to5Mac , iOS 17.5 seems to incorporate a new system centered around anti-stalking capabilities for accessories like AirTags. This development follows Apple’s announcement last year of a partnership with Google to collaborate on a new “industry specification to combat unwanted tracking.”

Strings added to the Find My app reveal that iOS will be able to identify tracking accessories, even those that are not Apple or Find My certified, and assist users in disabling them.

One of the new strings states, “This item lacks certification on the Apple Find My network. You have the option to disable this item and prevent it from sharing its location with the owner. To proceed, follow the instructions provided on a website by the manufacturer of this item.”

These changes come as Google started rolling out its new Find My Device network for Android on April 8.

Whether Apple has more changes planned for iOS 17.5 beyond what was launched today remains to be seen. The focus is clearly on the European Union, where Apple continues to adapt to the Digital Markets Act being enforced by the European Commission.

Out of its 20 national parks, the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is home to many wildlife animals such as African elephants, Angolan giraffes, Cape buffalo, etc. Other than that, there are many private ownerships of National parks, notably the Kasanka National Park which is near the basin of Lake Bangweulu. It's a safe place where visitors can see 400 different avian species.

Man arrested for NE Portland shooting, 5 guns seized

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A 54-year-old man was arrested for a northeast Portland shooting on April 5, the Portland Police Bureau said.

On April 5 around 4:30 p.m., North Precinct officers were called out to Northeast 6th Avenue and Northeast Failing Street for a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot several times. The man was taken to the hospital and is expected to live. The shooter left the scene.

During the investigation, the Enhanced Community Safety Team and Focused Intervention Team identified Terrence D. Jacbob as a suspect.

On Monday, Jacob was arrested on an outstanding warrant for attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a gun, PPB said.

Through a warrant search of Jacob’s home, officers found and took five guns.

Chrome update now warning issued for Windows users

While Microsoft tries to push its Edge browser, it’s Google’s Chrome that continues to dominate the desktop market, as the default for a billion-plus Windows users. And those users need to ensure Chrome is updated, after the latest warning this week.

Stable channel 123.0.6312.122/.123 includes three fixes for high-risk memory safety vulnerabilities; you might have seen an acknowledgment earlier in the week that all serious Chrome vulnerabilities seen in the wild “started out with a memory corruption vulnerability.” And so no surprises here.

The three vulnerabilities were all found by external researchers, with each receiving a modest $10,000 to $20,000 payout. This is business as usual, not the highly sophisticated zero days that generate bigger headlines and rewards. One of the vulnerabilities is a use after free vulnerability—where freed up memory can still be addressed, the others relate to graphics rendering, one via the GPU.

These are interesting times for Chrome on the security front. In warning of those expansive memory threats, Google has introduced a beta V8 (JavaScript engine) Sandbox which, it says, should “prevent memory corruption in V8 from spreading within the host process... a necessary step towards memory safety.”

Very welcome. And equally welcome was the news earlier in the month, that Google has found a way to address cookie theft, an increasingly well used means to bypass 2FA by hijacking authorized sessions. My colleague Davey Winder reported on some of the attacks emanating from this vulnerability earlier today.

This is also mainly a Chrome on Windows issue, and the proposed solution is so-called Device Bound Session Credentials (DBSC), which means linking those session cookies to a device ID. Stealing the cookies will be pointless, unless you’re lifting the PC at the same time. “DBSC aims to disrupt the cookie theft industry since exfiltrating these cookies will no longer have any value,” Google explains.

It’s only two weeks since Google issued its last critical security fix for Chrome, along with a serious warning that users could be vulnerable to maliciously constructed webpages exploiting (another) memory vulnerability on their PCs

Google has not provided any indication that the latest vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild, but users should still update their browser as soon as it’s available to them—if not already. I always take the view that once such issues are made public, even in a limited fashion, the risks increase. Threat actors know how long some users will take to update their platforms. LA郊外サン・フェルナンド・バレーの南端に位置するシャーマン・オークス。高級住宅地ベルエアに隣接しているせいか、セレブ出没率が高め。ここに絶景を享受する家を自ら建てた建築家が住む。その個性あふれる邸宅を見てみよう。

2階フロアから階段を下りると、山と庭の木々を眺めながら食事が楽しめるダイニングルームへ。ベンチ型の椅子は家主が庭の木を使って手作りしたもの。右側の天井には大きな天窓を取り付けて、自然光が差し込む設計に。

クリス・マカラ［Chris McCullough］ 1974年カナダのオンタリオ州ストラトフォード生まれ。24年前にLAに移住。 建築家の妻ペギー・スーと建築事務所〈スー・マカラ〉を共同経営する建築家。 1998年に大阪に住んだ経験も。

パティオの屋根を丸くくり抜いたデザインが斬新。公立公園“フォッシル・リッジ・パーク”に面し、自然を享受できるのがお気に入り。

LA郊外でセレブをよく見かける街といえば、盆地にあるシャーマン・オークス。丘の上に裕福な人々が住み、丘の下に洒落たレストランやショップが立ち並ぶ。自然と街の両方が贅沢に楽しめるエリアだ。ここに建築家の妻と共同で家を建てた建築家クリス・マカラが暮らす。「プライバシーが守られて、街並みの眺めがいい丘の上の土地を探していて見つけた場所。これ以上開発できない自然保護地区のため、自然も味わえるから」と、移り住んだ理由を話す。 建築テーマは、自然光の移ろいを計算し、外と内の境界をなくし、自然の恵みを生かした造りの家。外装の木の柵や家の中の天窓で自然光の変化を取り入れ、木や石などの自然の素材を床や壁に用いている。また、インテリアは素材や色や光沢を重視しつつ、好きなものを収集。棚に並ぶレコードの数は1万枚。CDやカセットテープのコレクションも圧巻で、それをミュージシャンの顔や歌詞を表現したアートとしても楽しんでいる。サイドテーブルやベンチやCDラックなどの家具も、彼が作ったオリジナルだ。 あなたにとって家とは？ と聞くと「自然と繋がっていて安らぎがあり、大都会のフラストレーションから逃避できる避難場所。この家は、それらの条件がすべて満たされている」と答える。自然やアートや音楽など、彼の愛するものがつまった家だからこそ楽しく暮らせて、人々が感動する建築物を造れるのだろう。
