Each Segway journey commences with basic training, including a hands-on practice session demonstrating how to safely ride. Once everyone feels comfortable, we depart on our beach-centric training for the excursion of a lifetime. From the Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach Pier and back, past the canals of Venice, the famous Venice Beach Boardwalk where people watching is elevated to a quirky high-art, past the original Muscle Beach weightlifting pens and some of the most serene and pretty beachfront in all of Los Angeles. This tour experience is a laid-back and incredibly fun glide down the beach with a little history and background added in for good measure. To join our segway tours you will have to meet the following requirements:

• All participants must be at least 16 years old
• Riders must be over 90 pounds (40 kilos) and less than 265 pounds (120 Kilos)
• Riders must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail
• Riders need to be physically and mentally self-efficient
• The use of the Segway is not recommended for pregnant women and for people over 70 years old
• It is high recommended to wear comfortable shoes
• Please do not carry large bags whilst on the Segway
• SEGWAY Child Policy: Segway is appropriate for virtually anyone between 16 and 70 of age, with a minimum of 145 cm (4,75 ft) of height and over 40 kilos (90 pounds) of weight. Accompanied tour of Pisa with a difference - on a Segway!

Enjoy the splendours of Pisa gliding around the city on a guided Segway tour (in English)! The tour lasts two and a half hours, including the orientation session, and you may elect to have a personal tour guide or a slightly-less-expensive audio-guide accompanied tour. There are two daily tours to choose from. Morning tours begin at 10.00 AM and afternoon tours at 3.30 PM - group size is a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 people. The tour includes an audio-guide system, and is accompanied by a tour leader.

The tour takes in the following must-not-miss sights of Pisa: the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and the Baptistery (all in the splendid 'Campo dei Miracoli'), Piazza dei Cavalieri, San Michele in Borgo, across the River Arno, San Sepolcro, San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno, the little church of Santa Spina and much more besides.

Know before you book

• You must be 16 or older.
• You must weigh between 100 and 250 pounds (45–113 kg).
• You must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• You do not need previous Segway experience.
• At least 2 people are required for this activity to take place.
• Check-in is 15 minutes prior to the booked tour start time.

What you can expect

Hit the beach in futuristic-style as you cruise around Santa Monica and Venice Beach on an easy-to-use Segway. With a knowledgeable guide to lead you between each stop, learn about the this oceanfront community's creative past and visit iconic sites like Muscle Beach & Santa Monica Pier.

Join your guide and spend the first few minutes of your tour getting to know the controls of your Segway. With a snug helmet, make a few practice turns, starts, and stops as you lean around a controlled area on your new ride. When you feel up to the challenge, set out after your guide to explore Santa Monica and Venice Beach.

As you ride, find out how these seaside enclaves came to life in places like Pacific Park and the Santa Monica Pier. Snap pictures of the pier's famous Ferris wheel and watch families hop on thrilling coasters and try their luck at classic arcade games. Continue on through Venice Beach, where you can watch courageous skaters try out their latest tricks and check out the iron-pumping athletes at Muscle Beach.

Learn how Graffiti Park got its start and enjoy a stop to snap shots of their colorful work, keep an eye out for street performers that range from magicians to musicians, and feel free to ask your guide for tips on other places to check out before you return your quirky ride back at the starting point.
