New Delhi: With beautifully designed temples and other architectural heritage, South India represents the ancient Indian culture and its glorious phase. A tour of that region will make us aware of the rich history of the land, and that is what the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) aims to do.

The IRCTC, apart from facilitating ticket booking for us, also enables us to go on tours to different corners of the country and beyond. This time, the IRCTC has launched the ‘South India Divine Tour Package’ from Delhi to explore the different sites of heritage in that region.

Features of the package

The ‘South India Divine Tour Package’ will cover places like Trivandrum, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai and Tirupati. The duration of the package is six nights and seven days.

The cost of the package

• For one person, the cost of the package will be Rs 67,270.
• For two people, the cost of the package will be Rs 53,290.
• For three people, the cost of the package will be Rs 51,140.
• For children who are between 5 and 11 years, the cost will be Rs 45,110.
• For children without bed who are between 5 and 11 years, the cost will be Rs 40,760.
• For children without bed who are between 2 and 4 years, the cost will be Rs 33,380.

The itinerary of the tour

• Day 1: The tourists will go to Chennai by flight and from there, will go to Tirupati. There, they will visit the famous Tirumala temple.
• Day 2: They will visit the Padmavathi Temple in the morning. After that, they will go to Chennai.
• Day 3: They will board the flight after breakfast and arrive at Thiruvananthapuram. There, they will spend the rest of the day at a hotel. In the evening, the tourists can go to visit the Kovalam Beach.
• Day 4: In the morning, they will visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple and will leave the hotel after breakfast. Then they will go to Kanyakumari. There, they will visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kumari Amman Temple and Sunset Point.
• Day 5: They will go to Rameshwaram in the morning and will visit Danushkodi Beach.
• Day 6: The tourists will visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple in the morning and later go to Madurai, where they can spend the evening in leisure or shopping.
• Day 7: They will visit the Meenakshi Temple in the morning and will board the return flight after breakfast.
