However, the earliest references to the stunning hill station can be found as early as the Sangam literature time. However the modern era of Kodaikanal began only after the British came in. It served as a summer retreat and a vacation spot for the colonial power. Ever since those days, Kodaikanal has been a popular choice among hill station lovers for a quick escape up the mountains.  The verdant hills, the cascading waterfalls, picturesque lakes, pristine countrysides – the reason why Kodaikanal has been popular among tourists are many. For a discerning traveller, the locale offers much to see, enjoy and experience. Plenty of activities await a visitor here. Boating, cycling, horse riding and trekking are some of the most common among them. One of the other spectacles of this region is the Kurinji flower that blooms only once in 12 years, making itself a unique spectacle to watch.

Morning after breakfast get ready to explore the Kodai hill, visit the various viewpoints, Coackers walk, enjoy walk in to the pine forest, Guna caves, in the evening enjoy boat ride at Kodai lake. Rest of the day free, enjoy the climate and stay overnight in Kodaikanal

Day 03 : Kodaikanal – Ooty

Morning after breakfast start drive to Ooty, popularly called as Queen of Hill’s, enjoy the scenic drive all the way to Ooty, up on arrival check in and relax at the hotel.

Day 04 : Ooty – Coonoor

Morning after breakfast start drive to Coonoor, another interesting destination in Nilgiris, large number of Tea is cultivated from this region, up on arrival visit the famous Sims Park – a beautiful garden, Later visit other sightseeing like Lamb’s Rock and Dolphin House. Later visit High Field factory – gain knowledge about the history of Tea, its cultivation, processing etc. In the evening enjoy mountain train ride also called Toy Train ride from Coonoor to Ooty. Later return back to the Ooty hotel for your stay

Day 05 : Ooty

Morning after breakfast visit the Government Botanical garden, this garden is maintained in a vast landscape and it has numerous collections of plant species. Later visit Doddabetta View point one of the highest view point in Ooty, from where you will get spectacular view of the Nilgiris. Later drive to Ooty Lake and cherish yourself with a ride on the lake. Rest of the day free for shopping spend time at Charing Cross. Ooty is famous for homemade chocolates, baked rusks. Stay overnight in Ooty.

Day 05 : Ooty- Coimbatore departure

Morning after breakfast start drive to Coimbatore up on arrival you will be transferred to Airport to board your flight with sweet memories of your trip. Our service ends!

At a distance of 1 km from Kodaikanal Bus Station, Kodai Lake is an artificial, star-shaped lake situated in Kodaikanal town. It is the most famous landmark of Kodaikanal & one of the top tourist places to visit in Kodaikanal town. The lake is often represented in promoting Kodaikanal Tourism. Spread across an area of 60 acres, the Kodai Lake was built in 1863. Sir Vere Henry Levinge, the then Collector of Madurai, was instrumental in creating the lake. Ornamental plants are cultivated in a nursery for sale. The park organizes horticultural exhibits and flower shows every summer, to coincide with the peak season. The approach road to the falls is bumpy and hilly. The falls offer best views just after monsoon during the months of September & October. You don't find any water in summer season. The town water reservoir overflows southwards forming the Fairy Falls which continues to join the Vaigai River forming the Pambar Falls through its course. It can be reached by a steep, slippery path behind Pambar house. Racing down Pambar Ravine is the zig-zagging Levinge stream that cascades over a series of rock formations. The Pambar Ravine showers down the Waterfall and a series of steep and precariously slippery rocks during its meandering course. There is a pond like formation at the foot suitable for bathing. Three or four adjacent small cascading falls can be seen as you go downstream. The wild vicinity of the falls flourishes in rare flora and fauna. Endemic birds and butterflies create a center of attention to this soothing spot.

3 Pillar Rocks

At a distance of 7 kms from Kodaikanal Bus Station, Pillar Rocks is a set of three giant rock pillars which stand 400 feet high from the ground. The rocks stand majestically and offer wonderful views amidst thick vegetation and cloudy mountains. This is one of the best tourist places to visit in Kodaikanal and among the most scenic places in Kodai. Managed by the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, the viewpoint of Pillar Rock is situated on the Moir Point road.
