Decked out head-to-toe in all-black and all-sequin everything by Kaufman Franco (including matching microphone), Taylor even managed to look good with a golf club in Kanata in Ontario, Canada.

One of our all-time favorite looks from the tour so far, nothing says pop princess more than this bejeweled all-in-one number, paired with a trademark red lip.

Sporting another sparkling outfit in a shiny green jacket and purple skirt, it’s no wonder she needed sunglasses. The varsity detail on the jacket gives it a nice too-cool-for-school edge.

Swift shook it off in this green flapper-inspired, tasseled crop top and skirt that she wore during a performance in Montreal.

100+ Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit Ideas + What to Wear to A Taylor Swift Concert!

Updated: Jan 17

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

It's been a long time coming but.... it's been a crazy few years for miss Taylor Swift. She's dropped hint after hint, easter egg after easter egg, song after song, music video after music video!! She's truly a great entertainer and artist, and genuinely one of my favorite musicians to fangirl over.

I got tickets to Taylor Swift's Era's tour, and am trying to decide what era I should go as. . I can't wait to see what Taylor Swift's concert outfits are for this tour!

What do I wear to a Taylor Swift concert? Especially to the Eras tour?

Attendees are planning to wear outfits inspired by their favorite Taylor Swift era. There are ten eras total: Taylor Swift (Self-Titled), Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. Each era has its own vibe, color aesthetic, and specific pieces Taylor wore during those periods. For example, Reputation is an absolute classic, with snake print, black leather, and tons of sass. Or maybe the Red era? I mean, that one IS my favorite Taylor Swift album. Come as a sad autumn girl with a red scarf, black high-waisted shorts and oxfords— that's definitely a vibe.

But as I was thinking through this, I thought maybe I could make mood boards and help others find the perfect Taylor Swift outfits from amazon to wear to Taylor Swift's concert on her The Eras Tour! I assure you, while putting this list together, with each era I worked on I listened to the album ;) Guaranteed inspiration!

Because of each stadium's bag policy, concert-goers need to bring a clear see-through bag to the venue. Here are a few realyl cute ones I've found. The first is pretty simple, but you can find clear bags that are really stylized to fit your eras tour outfit!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

I'm also seeing a lot of people at Taylor Swift's concerts wearing body glitter and hair gems! Here are some options online that are great for doing glitzy hair and makeup the day of the Eras tour concert. The hair gem style has been SUPER popular, and you'll find a lot of other gals at the tour that are rocking similar!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

To start off, here are a few pieces that would be good for any of her eras. Concert attendees are wearing "Friendship Bracelets" (a nod to the song You're On Your Own Kid), and the era's charm bracelet as well, which are both available on Amazon!

NEW UPDATE! Taylor Swift's Eras Tour stage outfits

Taylor Swift Self-Titled Album

Taylor Swift Debut Era

T-Swift's self-titled album is a classic, with songs like "Picture to Burn", "Stay Beautiful", and "Should've Said No". With so many Taylor Swift album era options, this one will surely stand out and be super identifiable.

Taylor Swift's debut album is a whimsical journey through the enchanting world of teenage dreams and heartaches. Bursting with charm and a sprinkle of country sweetness, the album encapsulates the essence of Taylor's early years as a rising star. The aesthetic is like a vintage photo album, filled with snapshots of innocent crushes, teardrop-stained diaries, and the magic of first loves. The vibe is undeniably cute, as Taylor's relatable lyrics and catchy melodies transport you to a world where love letters are written in glittery pens, and every emotion is felt with an extra touch of sparkle. It's a musical hug from the past that leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and a desire to dance around your room like no one's watching.

How to dress in Taylor Swift (Self-Titled) era outfits

When you want to dress like the self-titled Taylor Swift album, you've got to transport yourself back to good ol' 2006! That means low rise flare jeans, floral dresses, and plenty of cowgirl boots. Taylor's look back then involved more soft, butterfly-like looks that harken back to her country roots.

The Taylor Swift Debut vibe: Teals, greens, butterfly, cowgirl, floral, low rise jeans, and flannels.

Where to find these Taylor Swift (Debut Album) outfits:

Moving onto Taylor Swift's sophomore album, Fearless...

Taylor Swift Fearless Albums Taylor's version

Fearless Era (Plus Taylor's Version)

Fearless is when Taylor Swift really started to gain speed in the music industry, and the era evokes an true nostalgia for the early Tay years!

Taylor Swift's "Fearless" album, both the original and Taylor's version, exude a timeless charm that feels like a musical hug from a dear friend. The aesthetic is a blend of sunlit fields and starlit nights, capturing the essence of young love and fearless adventures. With a dash of country twang and a sprinkle of pop magic, the album's vibe is irresistibly cute, much like a handwritten love letter sealed with a kiss. Taylor's reimagined version adds an extra layer of nostalgia, like finding a cherished childhood toy in the attic. It's a journey back to a place where heartbreaks were mended with laughter, and every melody carried the promise of a new beginning. The vibe is like a cozy sweater, warm and comforting, inviting you to relive those moments and create new memories with the same wide-eyed wonder.

Taylor Swift Fearless era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Fearless era outfits

She loves sparkly dresses. Always has, always will. But this was the first era to REALLY bring that to the forefront. Soft whimsical touches, earthy kind of feelings, with a little bit of edginess.

The Taylor Swift Fearless vibe: Golds, sparkly dresses, fairy-tale fluff, elastic headbands, cowgirl boots, and boho.

Where to find these outfits:

Next up is Taylor Swift's third album, Speak Now! You can get inspired by the original Speak Now era, or the new Taylor's Version.

Taylor Swift speak now album era

Speak Now Era

A fairytale in a nutshell, Speak Now era is like a sparkly purple dream.

Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" album is a whimsical fairy tale spun with the threads of love, courage, and a sprinkle of daydream magic. The aesthetic is like a storybook come to life, filled with enchanted forests and castle walls where Taylor fearlessly takes center stage. The vibe is both daring and adorable, as if each song were a secret whispered in a moonlit garden. With a blend of country roots and pop melodies, the album dances through the pages of a romantic novel, where every chorus is a chapter and every bridge a thrilling plot twist. It's a musical adventure that invites you to join Taylor in a world where love conquers all, and each note is a charming invitation to step into a dreamscape where happily ever afters are set to a delightful melody.

Taylor Swift speak now era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Speak Now era outfits

I tapped into a few iconic Taylor Swift outfits from the Speak Now era, which welcomed in her love for oxfords, vintage pieces, and an overall romantic take on everything. Finding the perfect halter purple dress from Speak Now era is ESSENTIAL. I've added the one I found below!

The Taylor Swift Speak Now vibe: Purple EVERYTHING, the number 13, slouchy beanies, flannels, twee Oxford heels, whimsical dresses, and revenge. Lots of revenge.

Here are some more modern versions of the Speak Now era (now with Taylor's Version!!)

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Next is my FAVORITE era, the RED era!

Taylor Swift red album era

Red Era (Plus Taylor's Version)

Arguably the best Taylor Swift album, hands down. RED is my personal favorite from her discography, mostly because this is the era where I because a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, rather than just a casual listener. All of the raw pain and anguish in this album make this era (and the TV era!) probably what I'm going to choose for the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour!

Taylor Swift's RED era is a sartorial symphony of passion and bold statements. The clothing aesthetic is a captivating blend of vintage glamour and modern sophistication, reflecting the album's emotional rollercoaster. Taylor dons iconic red dresses that symbolize both heartbreak and empowerment, showcasing her fearless style evolution. Picture timeless silhouettes, chic high-waisted shorts, and classic red lips that become a signature touch. The vibe is a mix of retro vibes and contemporary chic, with Taylor effortlessly balancing elegance and edge. From the glitzy red-carpet gowns to the laid-back yet stylish streetwear, every outfit in the RED era tells a story of self-discovery and resilience. It's a fashion journey that captures the essence of love, loss, and the vibrant hues of a life lived unapologetically.

Taylor Swift RED era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift RED era outfits

This era probably has some of the most iconic fashion moments of Taylor Swift's career. The Taylor Swift red tour outfits were amazing. The "We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together" and "22" looks just scream 2012! Now ten years later in 2022, this style is still just as amazing and showstoppping... and iconically RED . Try to find a good striped shirt and some tailored high waisted shorts, and add a pair of red Keds to complete the look!

The Taylor Swift RED vibe: The color red (bright, like the original, or deep, like Taylor's Version), spectator Oxford shoes, heart sunglasses, fedora hats, high wasted shorts, and KEDS.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

The "Not a lot going on at the moment" shirt is a classic for sure. You can buy it below. Also, with Taylor's new tour, she has a shirt that says "A LOT going on at the moment" too, which is featured here where I have some outfit ideas that are inspired by her concert looks from this Eras era!

During the show, Taylor gives her fedora-type hat to someone special in the audience. You can match her by wearing a black hat from her RED era!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

From the RED Taylor's Version album cover, don a trench coat and a burnt Sienna newsboy cap, and the autumn leaves start to fall like pieces into place for your Taylor Swift concert outfit.

I Bet You Think About Me - Taylor Swift concert outfit idea

Something from RED Taylor's Version that is an instant showstopper: the I Bet You Think About Me outfit!

Here's where you can grab it:

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Onto many people's favorite -- 1989!! This is the most recent Taylor's Version to come out. "1899 (Taylor's Version)" is not just an album; it's a captivating invitation to step into a lyrical ballroom where each song is a dance through time, and Taylor is the enchanting guide, gracefully leading us through the echoes of a century past.

Taylor Swift 1989 album era

A HUGE era for Taylor, commercially and her tour! She has so many fun and glitzy looks from this 1989 era. I pulled some Taylor Swift tour costumes from amazon that will make people double-take.... wait, is that Taylor Swift?? No? Shake it off!

Taylor Swift 1989 era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift 1989 era outfits

Be sure to wear plenty of sequins, shiny fabrics, and two-piece outfits for a true 1989 era look from Taylor Swift! Add on the quintessential white rayon-type sunglasses to look like a true 1989 fan.

The Taylor Swift 1989 vibe: Sequins! Lots of blues and silver sparkles, crop tops, white rayon sunglasses, and sparkly fringe.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

One of these outfits is a callback to Taylor's look at the 2016 Grammy Awards. I think it's such a unique outfit to wear to the Era's tour, because it's not exactly a "era" look, but something SO iconic from that era! Also, can you GET more 1989 than a pair of white rayon sunglasses? They were a staple piece in Taylor Swift's 1989 era.

A callback to a Swift inside joke, the yellow "No It's Becky" shirt is available on amazon!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Seagulls everywhere, on everything. With the new 1989 Taylor's Version coming out, the coastal pale blue vibe is going to be a good choice.

If you want to be a little silly, you could come literally dressed like a seagull:

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Reputation Era

This era is the most similar to my own personal style, so when I attended the Rep tour, I was living my best life!! All her songs have a pop edge to them, so make sure to dress accordingly.

Taylor Swift reputation era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Reputation era outfits

Wear as much snake print, black, fishnet, and combat-wear you can find. The more you look like a hell-raiser, the better for Taylor Swift reputation outfits. I've added in a few cool amazon t-shirts in here as well from the era!

The Taylor Swift Reputation vibe: Snake print, black sequins, camouflage print, chains, combat boots, and slicked back hair.

Much like her album cover, you can find a newspaper Reputation dress below!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Lover was all bright pink and multicolored, and it was AMAZING. The fun songs (and some deep love songs) created an incredible album from Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift Lover era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Lover era outfits

Pink, lots of pink. Actually, all pink. Just kidding! I put together some outfit ideas that are inspired by some of her performance looks and music video outfits from the Lover era.

The Taylor Swift Lover vibe: Lots of pink, multicolor, fringe, pearls, iridescence, hearts, and sweetness all around.

Grab a hot pink jacket and pearl sunglasses to look like Taylor from "You Need to Calm Down"! Choosing to wear a pastel sky print is such a Lover look, similar to her album cover!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Check out these gorgeous Lover-esque earrings and accessories:

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Just like in the "ME!" music video, you can wear a heart shaped top like Taylor for the concert.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Makeup for your Lover eras tour outfit

If you're wanting to dress up as Taylor's Lover era, it's a sweet detail to do the heart shape makeup over her eye like she does on her album cover! In order to do that, you'll need two main items: liquid latex and skin-safe pink glitter. You can find them here:

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

I've used the liquid latex above before and it works really well. All you'll need to do is outline the heart around your eye with the liquid latex, wait for it to get tacky, and then apply the pink glitter!

Taylor swift Folklore album era

Folklore Era

If you aren't the sparkly-dress Taylor Swift fan, and want to be a sad cottage-core girl, here is your chance! This album screams alone-in-the-woods-and-in-the-feels.

Taylor Swift Folklore era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Folklore era outfits

Tap into the cottage-core look and opt for some comfy sweaters, cardigans, and ditsy floral prints. I've grabbed a few items that look similar to the outfits she wore on some of her photoshoots from this era.

The Taylor Swift folklore vibe: Knit sweaters, plaid jackets, chunky boots, mushrooms, trees and a general folksy vibe.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Evermore Era

Am I crazy to say that Evermore is one of my favorite TSwift albums? It's definitely the most forgotten one, but WOW does it have some bops, both sad and lovely.

Taylor Swift evermore era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Evermore era outfits

This era was so short-lived, but it gave us some beautiful looks! An easy go-to would be the brown/orange plaid jacket from Evermore. (I've linked on similar) Also, the Willow music video is a huge inspiration for these, and other Swifties will know exactly what you're going for!

The Taylor Swift evermore vibe: Deep plaids, ethereal jewelry, greens, leather boots, turtlenecks, and flown dresses.

From the "Willow" music video, you can choose a more whimsical and fairy-like look to fit in with the Evermore era! Below you can also find a dark green velvet cape like she wears during her Evermore set at the Eras Tour!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Midnights Era

Midnights only came out a few weeks ago while I'm writing this, so I'm still reeling from this album release! I know from the second I hear "Anti-Hero" that it would be an instant classic.

Taylor Swift Midnights era outfit ideas

How to dress in Taylor Swift Midnights era outfits

When it comes to the looks from Midnights era, they span from glitzy blue midnight dresses and plenty of sparkles, mixed with vintage looks that evoke a sense of 70s retro. Combining these all together will be the ultimate Midnights tour outfit!

The Taylor Swift Midnights vibe: Honestly, Taylor's Midnights aesthetic is all over the place, but can be boiled down to: 70s vintage, starry night, retro, oranges, blues, lavender, clocks, and anything, and I mean anything that is bejeweled.

Inspired by her 70's glam looks in much of the material for the release of her album midnights, you can don some burnt orange and corduroy and fit in well! The top and fur jacket look similar to the starry dress Taylor wore out when she was promoting "Midnights". For a more casual "Midnights" look, you can wear this sheer celestial top as well. Check out some of these that also scream "Lavender Haze"!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Where're ya going? You going out tonight? ;)

You can find a corset similar to Taylor's from her "Bejeweled" music video!

Taylor Swift's Stage Outfits

If you want to come to the concert the MOST prepared, you can dress like the current Era: the Eras era! Pretty meta, right? Here are some of the outfits that Taylor's been wearing on her tour that you can recreate in your concert outfit:

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 1— Midnights era Lavender Haze jacket

Taylor wears a pink/lavender sparkly dress with a fun faux-fur lavender coat. You can find a super sparkly dress and add a lavender faux fur coat, and look just like Taylor!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 2— Evermore era pink dress

Taylor's whimsical pink dress during her Evermore era is GORGEOUS. Play up your own ethereal vibe and wear a similar dress to the Eras tour!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 3— Reputation era jumpsuit

Taylor wears this awesome one-legged jumpsuit with red snakes all over it. You can buy a black sparkly jumpsuit and attach red snake appliqués to create a look similar to it.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 4— Sparkly RED era jacket

The RED era (my favorite!) has Taylor donning a long red sparkle trench coat. You can look similar to this in either this red velvet long trench I've found, or a men's sparkly suit jacket!

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 5— "A LOT Going On At The Moment" shirt

She's reinvented her own RED era look with a shirt that instead of saying "Not a lot going on at the moment" it says "A LOT going on at the moment"! I've found a shirt that says exactly that new phrase on Amazon. Taylor also pairs it with a pair of sparkly black bottoms and a black hat.

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Stage outfit 6— 1989 era green two piece

A very Taylor typical outfit, more sparkles! And this time we're working with fun and bright green. She has a sparkle fringed two piece set on stage.

I hope you find some awesome inspiration on what to wear to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour! See ya there :)

Such cute outfits and a big help

Amazing! It really lifts my spirits that I've helped other Swifties find a good outfit for the Era tour. I hope your concert is epic!

This was so helpful I got so many compliments on my outfit

Yay!!!! I'm so, so glad this helped, it makes me so happy. I'm excited for my tour stop (Pittsburg!) to show off my Taylor Swift era outfit; I'm going with Red.

This is an amazing resource! I’m still looking for Red inspo. Do you have any pant/shirt ideas? I’m not into dresses that much.

Thank you so much! If I find anything worth sharing, I’ll put the links down here.

It's no secret that Taylor Swift has style. The superstar's1989 World Tour kicked off in Tokyo earlier this week, and she worked a series of incredible ensembles as she belted out her hits onstage.

Unsurprisingly, the singer's flirty outfits feature lots of leg, metallic shades, glitter, and plenty of fringe--which she appropriately dons for her "Shake It Off" dance number that closes the show. One thing's certain: her onstage sartorial prowess is as on-point as her street style.

Take a look at more of her dazzling performance looks below:

You Must See Everything Taylor Swift Is Wearing on Tour

Rainbow sequins, beaded fringe, and thigh-high boots.

Taylor Swift

Blake Lively may have masterfully worn  10 looks in one day , but Taylor Swift did the same thing in a matter of  hours . BOOM.

Earlier this week, Swift kicked off her  1989 World Tour  in Tokyo and made our sartorial dreams come true while she was at it. Her onstage wardrobe gave us everything we've come to expect from the ladylike-cool star—retro silhouettes, crop tops, matching sets, and shimmering embellishments—but she also threw us a few fashion curve-balls, like a leather catsuit, thigh-high boots à la  Pretty Woman , and even a light-up confection. (Eat your heart out, Katy Perry). Here, find an outfit-by-outfit breakdown of every single look we've seen so far.

1. The Pink Fringe Dress

https://instagram.com/p/98owRQjvET/

Since the  1989  tour began back in May, we've loved everything Swift has donned for her  star-studded performances . This said, we couldn't help but get excited about the first new piece Swift has introduced since hitting the road.

In keeping with fringey-embellished vibe of the rest of her wardrobe, she stepped out on the stage in Shanghai donning a powdery pink, beaded fringe mini-dress that we are suh-wooning over.

2. A Rainbow Fish Bomber Jacket

Taylor Swift

With its rich jewel tones and sequin detailing, we can't imagine the inspiration behind this zip-up bomber is anything but the childhood storybook classic  The Rainbow Fish . She pairs it with a black beaded crop top and a high-waisted, belly-button-covering flared skirt that's equally as a shiny.

3. Glam Rock Ankle Boots

Taylor Swift

Swift takes a page from David Bowie's book by pairing her newly-minted stage uniform—the black beaded crop top and flare skirt—with a glittery pair of lace-up platform ankle boots.

4. A Sequin Shorts Suit

Taylor Swift

Even Swift's most buttoned-up look of the tour is sparkly! She pairs this immaculately-tailored sequin shorts suit with matching ankle boots.

5. A Jeweled Bodysuit

https://instagram.com/p/2Tkoc5Isbc/?taken-by=shiftyswifty1989

Swift matched her Victoria's Secret Angel BFF Karlie Kloss, who wore a similar jeweled bodysuit to parade down the runway as Swift performed. It's also worth nothing that this naked-ish number bears a striking resemblance to the risqué,  side-butt baring  Met Gala looks donned by Jennifer Lopez , Kim Kardashian , and Beyoncé. (T-Swift, so hot right now.)

6. An LED Crop Top and Skirt

https://instagram.com/p/2TSLRyiEBi/?taken-by=jmzjmzjmz

It would appear that Swift wanted to give a nod to LED wristbands, which flash along to the rhythms of her  1989  jams. She loved them so much, she even handed out to the entire audience! For the rest of her non-Lite-Brite look, she opted for this light-up pink frock that matches her umbrella-toting backup dancers.

7. A Leather Catsuit

https://instagram.com/p/2UR5z0KHkM/?taken-by=romantics.anthem

Two words: Meeeee..ooowww. Swift surely got tongues wagging in this second skin leather catsuit—and, is that a  pair of bants  we spy?

8. A Marilyn Monroe-esque Onsie

https://instagram.com/p/2Tr56lxicO/?taken-by=taylorswift__officials

A testament to her propensity for retro style, Swift channels Monroe in  The Seven Year Itch  wearing this white plunging halter playsuit with swinging beaded fringe.

9. Thigh-High Boots

https://instagram.com/p/2UDlthInXO/?taken-by=alltswift13

Swift ups the bombshell factor of her glitter-trimmed white matching set by pairing it with thigh-high boots, complete with a pinup-staple: the garter belt.

10. A Green Flapper Dress

https://instagram.com/p/2UD04TonXo/?taken-by=alltswift13

She shakes it off by channeling her inner-flapper in this bright green, beaded fringe romper topped off with a waist-cinching belt. We're dying to see this thing in motion.

11. A Shimmery Matching Set

https://instagram.com/p/2TiWfTSuGR/?taken-by=umeume_123

Swift has proven she's nothing if not a fan of crop tops, high-waisted bottoms, and embellishments. So, this sequin trimmed crop top and shorts are essentially her version of the LBD.

Even if you weren't in the Tokyo Dome last night to see Taylor Swift kick off her 1989 World Tour , chances are you've scoured the internet to get a track by track breakdown of her show or (if you're a fashion nerd like us) peep all her onstage looks.

Her show certainly wasn't short on outfit changes–she racked up 10 ensembles total. From her signature matching two-piece sets to sequin suit jackets to skin-tight catsuits, she pulled out ALL the stops for her world tour debut. Check 'em out below!

Sparkly Skater Skirt And Sequin Bomber Jacket

Crystal Nude Jumpsuit

In a rarer T Swift look, we get to peep her in a skin-tight nude catsuit covered in crystals. Yowza.

Rhinestone-Accented Black Co-Ord

Ahhh, classic Taylor and her matching bustier and shorts ensembles. We love this one decked out in rhinestones.

LED Light Up Crop Top And Skirt

Perhaps the most amazing ensemble of the evening was this light-up Asher Levine number that flashed LED lights throughout her performance.

All-Leather Catsuit

Taylor transformed into a total badass in this head-to-toe leather look. Dang, girl.

Two-Toned Bustier With Skinnies

She decided to go for a pants and bustier outfit while playing her guitar like the good ol' days .

Metallic Fringe Romper

What's a better outfit to sing "Shake It Off" in than this bright green fringe piece? Nothing, that's what.

Crop Top, Shorts, And Thigh-High Boots

It looks like she took some tips from her Victoria's Secret performance in this lingerie-inspired number.

Rhinestone And Fringe Silver Dress

We don't know if this technically qualifies as a dress, but we love it nonetheless.

Black Sequin Suit Jacket

And for "Blank Space," she got serious in a sequin sequin jacket sans pants. WERK.

My Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' outfit was a last minute '1989'-inspired outfit.

What I Wore To Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Is So Easy To Replicate

This last-minute look was actually the outfit of my (wildest) dreams!

Taylor Swift wasn’t lying when she said she never goes out of style. Revisiting each one of her iconic eras for The Eras Tour proves that. The only issue with impeccable fashion taste is it makes deciding on a specific outfit to wear to the concert that much more difficult for Swifties. Aside from overcoming the first hurdle, which is actually getting a ticket to the show, picking out something to wear might be the toughest thing. What I wore to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was thrown together last minute, and it’s so easy to replicate if you’re looking for ideas.

My TikTok FYP has become #SwiftTok recently with merch hauls from the Eras Tour truck to full videos of certain songs on Swift’s three-hour long setlist . It makes me so happy to see fellow fans getting hyped to finally see Swift after so many years, and my favorite thing to see is everyone’s outfit reveals . Not only are Swifties diehard fans who are great at puzzle solving and finding easter eggs , but they’re also incredibly creative and talented. I’m so impressed at all the rhinestone jean jackets and DIY costumes that look like exact replicas of outfits Swift has worn before.

Since I originally was only going to attend the August shows in Los Angeles, I thought I had plenty of time to come up with a cute and creative Eras Tour outfit of my own. However, seeing all the concert footage made me spontaneously buy a last-minute ticket to one of her shows in Las Vegas. With only two days to plan the perfect ‘fit and $0 to spend after purchasing an expensive resell ticket, I had to work with what I already had in my closet. Under those parameters, I managed to throw together a 1989- inspired Eras Tour outfit that I absolutely loved and would wear again.

How I Styled My 1989 Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit

I wore a '1989' outfit to the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' in Las Vegas.

Along with using only the clothes I had in my closet, I also challenged myself to find an outfit that was comfy but not too boring. I was going to the Eras Tour alone , which is already nerve-racking for anyone with social anxiety. I didn’t want to add more stress on myself by wearing something that would draw too much attention or make me uncomfortable. At the same time, Swifties are going all out with their concert attire and I didn’t want to phone it in.

I was going back and forth between my Taylor Swift cardigan for a folklore outfit or my sequin bomber jacket for something in the 1989 era. I bought the sequin bomber jacket right after seeing Swift wear something similar at the 1989 World Tour. Basically, I saw Taylor Swift wearing a sequin bomber jacket, so I bought a sequin bomber jacket. It was always my dream to wear something similar, but I never really got the opportunity.

While I love folklore and wear my cardigan as often as possible , 1989 will forever and always be my favorite era. I had to make my wildest dreams come true and put together an OOTD inspired by Swift’s iconic tour ‘fit. Along with the jacket, Swift also wore a sparkly metallic skirt and black crop top. This was the era where Swift sported a lot of crop tops with extremely high-waisted skirts and shorts. I’m not as confident as her, so the only crop tops I own are sweatshirts that I wear at home in front of just my cat and no one else. The closest I had to Swift’s black top was actually a bikini top. Wearing a bikini top not by the pool was going to be a challenge in confidence, but I felt more comfortable having the perfect skirt to go along with it.

I have a few running skirts in my closet that I wear to RunDisney events. I have a metallic mermaid skirt for an Ariel DisneyBound outfit, and a purple one that I use for a Rapunzel or Hulk-inspired ‘fit. I love these running skirts because they have built in shorts underneath that are comfy and come with three pockets. Who doesn’t love pockets, am I right? While the mermaid skirt fits the metallic vibes of Swift’s outfit more, I went with the purple one instead. Also, I could pull up my skirt to mimic Swift’s high-waisted look, and it made me feel more comfortable baring my midriff.

This sequin bomber jacket is what I wore to Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' and is a great '1989' outfit ...

To complete the look, I added some sunglasses and the classic red lip that Swift is known for. I also tried to part my hair and sweep my bangs to the side, but the Vegas winds were not cooperating that day. It didn’t matter, though. I had a pretty great knockoff 1989 outfit that I couldn’t wait to wear to the show.

I even got a few compliments from Swifties I saw walking around the stadium that boosted my confidence. The only downside was it was still a bit chilly outside, but since most of the Eras Tour will be taking place in the summer, this is a perfect outfit to wear once it warms up. If you’re currently looking for inspo for something you can wear that’s comfy, cute, and allows you to shake it off, this is it.

Taylor Swift has some incredible Eras Tour outfits

Who designs Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits?

Taylor has been bringing out the big guns for her global tour. Notable designers include Fausto Puglisi who heads up Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli. Fausto describes himself  as a Sicilian maverick. He designed 12 of the looks from Taylor’s Eras shows, including the skintight snake catsuit from the Reputation era, and the gold-fringed minidress from her Fearless era.

And Taylor isn’t the only superstar he has dressed – J-Lo and Zendaya have also had the honour. He also designed the cape that Madonna wore on her Madame X album.

Another designer that has been tapped by Taylor for her stage costumes is Donatella Versace. The legendary designer was the mastermind behind Taylor’s bejewelled bodysuits that feature in the Lover section of her shows.

And rounding off the Lover looks are a pair of custom-made, jewel-encrusted, knee-high boots from none other than Christian Louboutin. With their signature red soles, Louboutins are the footwear of choice for the rich, famous and impeccably dressed.

Italian dressmaker Alberta Ferretti also has a starring role on the Eras Tour. Her ethereal and dreamy gowns complements the Folklore section of Taylor’s shows completely.

Taylor has also selected a number of lesser-known names to wear alongside fashion powerhouses like Oscar de la Renta and Ellie Saab. Indie designer Anish Gupta created the sequin slogan T-shirts emblazoned with her iconic lyrics “WE ARE NEVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER, LIKE EVER”

10 Taylor Swift Eras Tour Outfit Ideas Inspired by Every Iconic Album

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Design by Leana Macaya

In This Article

It’s almost time to meet Taylor Swift at midnight (and all the other times of day she’s ever sung about), as the long-awaited Eras Tour kicks off in Arizona on March 17 before heading across the U.S. all spring and summer—then, presumably, the world. The artist is making her live music comeback stronger than a ‘90s trend , as she's dropped a whopping four new albums since her 2018 Reputation tour, in addition to two “Taylor’s Version” rereleases. While the Ticketmaster fiasco resulted in a literal Senate hearing, fans are now getting excited to hear the new songs for the first time live—and confused about what to wear to such an all-encompassing concert.

If you survived “The Great War” of ticket sales but are stumped about your Eras ensemble or itching to give that Capital One card another workout, you need to calm down and build an outfit around your favorite Taylor Swift album. Whether pastel music festival vibes are your Lover , an invisible string ties you to Folklore , or you just want to stay in Midnights ' lavender haze, we’ll help you mastermind the perfect look. See Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfits for every album ahead, so you can show fellow Swifties you’re still bejeweled when you walk into the concert.

Taylor Swift/Debut Album

If you’ve been a Swiftie since the beginning or want to show your soft spot for her country era, grab a pen and an old napkin and take note of the artist’s go-to teen staples: understated midi dresses, classic cowboy boots , and a neutral, bohemian color palette. Let your hair run wild and free, and you have the perfect recipe for singing along to “Picture to Burn.”

Shop The Look

Free People

Brother Vellies

Swift’s sophomore album, Fearless , was a "Love Story" full of the hopes and fears we all feel when coming of age. It won the 2010 Grammy for Album of the Year and recently got another moment in the spotlight as the inaugural Taylor’s Version rerelease (raise your hand if you're hoping to hear “Mr. Perfectly Fine” live). If you belong with the era's sweet late-aughts style, go for a sequined mini dress, a rose necklace, and simple leather sandals.

Reformation

Don't Let Disco

There's a lot of buzz around Speak Now right now as many fans are convinced that Swift has it slated for the next rerelease, citing everything from the "Bejeweled" music video to recent awards show looks. If you're excited for the world to finally realize that "Dear John" walked so "All Too Well" could run so "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) [Taylor's Version] [From the Vault]" could fly, embody the album's complex fairytale energy with a Bordeaux-colored princess mini dress, a delicate tie blouse, and whimsical crystal earrings.

Christopher Esber

Anthropologie

The Red era contained multitudes: Think Harry Styles, Karlie Kloss and the squad, and endless country-pop crossover hits that highlighted Swift's ability to transcend genres. In its Taylor's Version renaissance, vault tracks like the "All Too Well" 10-minute version and the "Nothing New" collaboration with Phoebe Bridgers dominated, yet the album's signature color scheme and vintage-meets-modern vibes have remained as relevant as ever. Pair a pop of red—we love the idea of some statement pants—with a white T-shirt , Ray-Bans, and your favorite red lipstick for a moment that will have you dancing like you're 22.

Good American

Julia Allert

1989 was a new beginning for Taylor Swift in multiple ways: It was her first pop album, she had an iconic new bob hairstyle , and she'd just moved to New York City. As she marked her rebirth with songs like "Wildest Dreams" and "Style," the star rocked an energized, instantly iconic wardrobe of crop tops, matching sets, and statement accessories. If you're in a style rut, shake it off with a crop-top-and-skirt combo plus some colorful heels, all of which can work for countless going-out looks long after your Eras Tour concert has come and gone.

Abercrombie & Fitch

Kendall Miles

When rumors about her hit a boiling point, Swift didn't back down. Instead, she released Reputation , an album that simultaneously leaned into her so-called "snake" side and shared the sweet vulnerability of falling in love. If you're in your Rep Era, you can't go wrong with leather on leather, especially if you top it off with some serpentine jewelry.

Chelsea Paris

The Lover era, which featured bubblegum bops like "Cruel Summer" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend" (the latter was recently part of the M3GAN trailer), was a time for pastel music festival vibes and euphoric romanticism. If you spent 2020 preparing for the Lover Fest that never happened, now is finally your chance to shine: Pair a candy-colored crop top and shorts for a danceable yet fun look, then finish it off with a fun hair look like temporary streaks or rainbow tinsel.

When Swift surprise-dropped Folklore during the 2020 lockdown, it marked the start of a stripped-back indie era that attracted a whole new fanbase in the process. If dark academia has captured your heart or you stream "Cardigan" and "Betty" on repeat, emphasize how smart and mysterious you are by bringing a book to the concert (spoiler alert: It's actually a purse). Paired with a ruffled, high neck blouse and patchwork shorts, you have a dreamy Taylor Swift Eras Tour outfit that pays tribute to storytelling and simpler times.

How to Decode Taylor Swift’s Style, From Backward Outfits to Reputation Red Herrings

For fans in the know, decoding a Taylor Swift outfit is nearly as thrilling as parsing her lyrics or Instagram captions for clues. The cryptic queen leaves subtle (and not-so-subtle) messages everywhere (remember five holes in the fence ?)—so why not her clothes too? With stage-managed pap shoots and unmarked sponcon more prevalent than ever among celebrities, Swift clearly knows that people will pay attention to what she’s wearing.

Fashion has become its own vertical in Swift’s universe, with The Cut asking “why Taylor Swift Dresses Like That” while The Independent chalks up interest in Swift’s style to sexism. By any measure, Swift is gorgeous and stylish. But in the hypercompetitive and appearance-obsessed strata she inhabits, there is no room for error…and Swift apparently errs so much that a certain corner of the internet has branded her Allergic To Serving . There is even an Instagram account dedicated to Photoshopping her into more fashion-forward looks, and you can find accounts like the self-described Swiftologist “brutally reviewing” both her street style and red-carpet looks on YouTube. (For my money, the most objective overview of her fashion journey is from the always excellent account ModernGurlz. )

To gain a deeper understanding of both Swift’s fashion sense and how she positions herself within the broader style discourse, I spoke with the only woman who may know Taylor’s style better than Taylor herself: Sarah Chapelle, the creator and operator of @TaylorSwiftStyled and author of Taylor Swift Style: Fashion Through the Eras , which hits shelves this October. Tl;dr she’s the one who found all the Tortured Poets Department clothing Easter eggs.

Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

“Taylor Swift Style is the definitive Swift style Bible,” Chapelle tells me. “It tells the fashion story behind every single Taylor Swift album and her musical and sartorial evolution, and it’s based on my own content archives and extensive research, accompanied by over 200 photographs of Taylor’s most fashionable moments.”

Like Swift herself, Chapelle is thorough and eagle-eyed…some might say a fanatic. She writes long, thorough captions to help followers interpret Swift’s clothes and patiently answers questions about all things Taylor from an educated, not a stan-crazy perspective. Most helpfully, she finds affordable dupes for many of Swift’s items. Have I purchased boots worn by Taylor and identified by Sarah? No. But I asked for them for my birthday.

Just before the release of TTPD , Chapelle and I caught up over Zoom. And Tree Paine, if you’re reading this, please take her words seriously. She knows what she’s talking about.

Glamour : What is your process? Do you have Google alerts when Taylor gets photographed? How does a person run a Taylor Swift style account and identify all this stuff?

Sarah Chapelle: I follow a lot of really awesome update accounts. There’s Google alerts, there’s tweets that come through, and even good old-fashioned Swiftie group chats. In terms of my process, I’ve been running @TaylorSwiftStyled for almost 13 years now, so I have it down to a science and an art. There are a lot of brands that she continues to return to…so when she’s out and about, it’s easy to decipher, like, “Oh, that fit and flair cut and that particular color looks like a Reformation dress.” Or, there’s a certain cut of denim or trendy silhouette that indicates it’s probably Free People. And so begins the process of combing through all of these different retailers’ websites until I find the exact match.

What I hope is the extra something that I bring to the table is the power of the caption and being able to contextualize what a clothing choice means in the Taylor Swift cinematic universe. What does this bag represent? Maybe the last time she carried it was like 2014, and that’s a worthwhile thing to bring up. She’s the type of person who loves to repeat things and recycle accessories. That repetition is something that fans resonate with because it’s like, “Ah, someone else who gets their cost-per-wear down by re-wearing and repeating pieces in their closet like a normal person.” It’s sad that’s notable as a celebrity, but the fact of the matter is that, yes, it’s notable.

So then, how do you think she gets dressed in the morning? I wouldn’t put it past her to be sitting there with a grid of: “When was the last time I carried this bag?” Or do you think she has someone in charge of that?

I suppose it’s an open secret that most celebrities, even in their daily lives, are intentionally styled, and Taylor does have a style team. However, I do think Taylor has uniquely positioned herself as the arbiter of her public image and somebody who cares very deeply about the intention in which she shows up in the public eye. As a medium of communication, her fashion is a tool that she likes to wield and utilize. Whether that means distinguishing eras over the course of her career or sending red herrings to fans to drive them into a frenzy. We now know that the usage of green earlier this year, pre-Grammys, and even the Jimmy Choo, Jean Paul Gaultier collab boots that she wore that had snakes on them, were an intentional misdirect hinting at Reputation TV . Which was very tricky of her.

But in terms of how she ends up getting dressed, I feel like this is a Cher Horowitz-meets-“Mastermind” situation where one can barely fathom the depths of her closet and how she goes about intentionally or passively selecting what she chooses to wear that day.

How much jewelry does she own versus what is lent to her? Does this apply to other pieces of her wardrobe?

Based on my knowledge of the industry and how it typically works, I assume that most of her red-carpet jewelry are loans. I also assume that many of her outings are styled with smatterings of personal pieces that she herself has acquired. I know it seems farfetched, but I do think she actually does a small amount of shopping on her own, which I think is a key part of her appeal. That quirk factor to her outfits. The personal whimsy she sometimes brings to her styling.

A lot of celebrities at her level have contracts with certain brands, though mostly it’s actors who do a lot of red carpets. Taylor has the freedom to wear Chanel one day and Prada the next day. Has she ever really picked a brand or partnered up with a designer?

Not to an explicit extent where she’s a contracted ambassador for a brand. So there’s a certain, I guess, authenticity to what she wears, wherein she will just simply wear what speaks to her. I love that, whether that’s a Gucci bag or an Urban Outfitters top, it’s whatever speaks to her that moment. I think that’s very admirable and cool.

We know that she does have fashion connections. Stella McCartney is a notable one—she’s gone so far as to name-drop Stella in her music, and she did the Stella McCartney merchandise line for Lover .

It’s funny you mentioned Gucci. While I was looking through your book, I thought, “She should only wear Gucci.” Every time I thought she truly hit the nail on the head , that was the brand.

There’s been so many instances where I have discovered that my sweet spot for Taylor is the Gucci column gown . It’s fantastic on her.

In terms of future brand ambassadorships, I strongly feel like the brand that would “get” her the most is Ralph Lauren. She’s carried many, many Ralph Lauren bags over the course of her career. As a brand, from an ethos perspective of tapping into that sense of everyday Americana luxury, that definitely feels very Taylor and could be really cool.

Speaking of partnering up with designers, do you think she’s going to go to the Met Gala ? She doesn’t have to perform again until the ninth and it’s on May 4.

She technically has availability in her calendar to go. It’s whether she wants to prioritize attending that is kind of up in the air. I can understand why she’d want to go to Coachella because even though that’s a very public event, she’s able to hear live music, enjoy herself, feel freedom and fun, and go out and support her friends who are performing. But what does the Met Gala provide for the world’s most famous superstar at this point in time? That’s the question. I would love if she attended. Love it.

Moving onto some of her more questionable sartorial decisions, what do you make of her wearing stuff backwards? Because she’s done it a number of times. That’s got to be her decision, right? No one’s telling her to do that.

The fact that I have enough posts to fill a dedicated tag on the blog with pieces that she’s worn backwards is very amusing. She approaches her style with so much intentionality, but I don’t think these were instances of her wearing things backwards with intention. I think they were just very comedic oopsies.

You think she thought she was wearing them the right way?

I mean, who hasn’t experienced getting to the end of the day and realizing that your shirt is on backwards? Again, speaking to the relatability that is Taylor Swift; who has not, at one point in time or five points in time, experienced accidentally wearing something backwards?

What do you say to the discourse among non-Swifties that fashion is one area where she’s weaker? Even as a fan, I don’t think of her as super fashion-forward—but it’s okay because she’s not trying to be. She’s so good at almost every other aspect of being a celebrity.

Generally speaking, what draws people to Taylor’s fashion is not for looks that challenge trends or push the needle, and that is okay. I mean, Taylor Swift made headlines when s he cut her hair into a bob . That was a huge, earthquake-level change in her cinematic universe. Compared to most celebrities, who often dye their hair between every other project or cut bangs or change their hairstyle on a whim, that was a magnitude-level shift that indicated a huge change was happening.

How would you describe her Tortured Poets style? I’m having trouble separating it from her WAG style, and I feel like it’s notable that she’s been actively wearing another person’s brand and advertising for Travis and the Chiefs with her clothes.

This is possibly the first time for an album rollout where there hasn’t been the anticipated volume of aesthetic output in relation to that era’s established aesthetic. This is probably the least amount of era-aligned outfits that we’ve had in the lead-up to an album, which is very interesting.

There is a “tortured poets” aesthetic that is very Dark Academia, literary, kind of like a more elevated version of the schoolgirl outfit accessories that she’s liked for a very long time. There are many instances from Fearless to Speak Now, and even into 1989, where Taylor loves a heeled loafer. She loves a pleated, flippy plaid miniskirt. Even in the 1989 era, she loved a knee-high sock. These aren’t necessarily new items for her to be wearing, but the way that they’re packaged in this poets filter feels a little bit more tortured, a little more anguished and dark and introspective.

This distinction between the few outings that we’ve had in contrast to the album is a subconscious reminder of, “This is what I went through, and I’m thankfully not in that place right now. So bear that in mind when you listen.”

If you’re speaking to a casual fan, someone who watched The Eras Tour on Disney+ but didn’t go in person, what would you say are the beginner level things to look out for when analyzing a Taylor Swift outfit? Do they all have Easter eggs, or are we just looking at vibes?

The most important thing to know is that context matters. You can’t really analyze her looks within an isolated bubble. You need to understand where she is and why she’s there. I don’t think that you can look at her Coachella outfit , for instance, and find out much about her intentional approach to style. You need to understand that she’s at a music festival with her boyfriend to support her friends. It’s most likely that she’s seeking comfort, function, cute festival vibes, and there’s not much to pull apart there. Sometimes there may not be a meaning beyond the logistical requirements of that day.

If you could give her one piece of style advice, what would you say?

If she still has that green Ellie Saab bag , would she consider giving it to somebody who is a great admirer of it?

Which other celebrities are you following stylewise? Is there anyone you pay as much attention to?

I don’t pay this much attention to anybody else. In terms of celebrities whose fashion I have enjoyed watching as of late, Zendaya obviously comes to mind. Carey Mulligan’s recent award season was like chef’s kiss perfect for me. I loved watching that unfold. Blake Lively is always fun to watch. I really like Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex’s personal style. I like pretty much everything that Meghan wears.

If you had to describe Taylor’s style—in this current era, that is—what three adjectives come to mind?

Feminine, thoughtful, relatable.

Until her next reinvention.

Taylor Swift

Leading up to the release of Taylor Swift ‘s The Tortured Poets Department , one question lingered in the backs of Swiftie minds for months: How would the new album affect the already three-hour-plus setlist of the pop star’s ongoing global Eras Tour?

When the record finally dropped April 19, bringing with it not just 16 pre-announced tracks, but 15 surprise bonus songs as well, their concerns were only exacerbated. How could Swift possibly slim down her pre- Tortured Poets setlist to fit any new material once she hit the road again? Where would she even begin selecting just a handful of the 31 songs on TTPD to include? Would she even bother trying? (Based on a video the singer posted of recent rehearsals for her next run of shows, which kicks off May 9 in Paris, the answer to that last question is most likely a “Yes.”)

It’s no small task, especially given that no matter what the “Anti-Hero” singer cuts or adds, some fans are bound to be upset when their favorites inevitably don’t make the final listing. Even so, Billboard has risen to the challenge, selecting the best possible collection of Tortured Poets tracks to represent Swift’s newest era while trimming the fat of past eras for an updated, ultimate dream Eras Tour setlist.

Some songs were hard to say good-bye to (sorry, “Mastermind”), and others were truly painful to not extend an invitation (don’t hate us, “Guilty as Sin?”). But in service of a well-rounded, comprehensive Eras experience, difficult decisions had to be made. Keep reading to see how Swift should move forward with her trek, Tortured Poets and all — plus, an idea on how her debut album Taylor Swift can finally get its flowers — below.

ACT I: 'Lover'

  • “Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince”
  • “Cruel Summer”
  • “The Man”
  • “You Need to Calm Down”
  • “Lover”

CUT: “The Archer”

Note: Swift could also probably benefit from shortening her meandering pre-“The Man” monologue in Act I to save room for more songs later on.

ACT II: 'Fearless'

  • “Fearless”
  • “You Belong With Me”
  • “Love Story”

Note: At three songs, the Fearless era is already the perfect length, holistically comprised of the album’s title track and its two breakthrough hits, which made Swift a global star. No room for cuts here.

ACT III: 'Evermore'

  • “‘Tis the Damn Season”
  • “Willow”
  • “Champagne Problems”
  • “Tolerate It”

CUT: “Marjorie”

Note: Swift definitely deserves to drink in the applause for a moment after her magnificent piano performance of “Champagne Problems,” but at past Eras shows, she’s allowed the ovations to last for upwards of eight minutes . To save room for more songs, she may want to keep things moving at future stops.

ACT IV: 'Reputation'

  • “…Ready For It?”
  • “Delicate”
  • “Don’t Blame Me”
  • “Look What You Made Me Do”

Note: If you’ve been to an Eras show, you know: There’s no messing with the Reputation set. The already ear-splitting crowd somehow gets even louder as soon as this first notes of “Ready For It” blast through the speakers, and the stadium stays at peak volume throughout the traditional “1, 2, 3, Let’s go b–ch” chant during “Delicate” and the seamless transition between “Don’t Blame Me” and “Look What You Made Me Do.” No cuts.

ACT V: 'Speak Now'

  • “Enchanted”
  • “Long Live”

Note: Justice for Speak Now . Swift’s third album deserves a proper showcase each night, so we sincerely hope that the pop star doesn’t scrap “Long Live” — which she only added to the setlist four months into the Eras Tour’s first leg — to make room for TTPD.

ACT VI: 'Red'

  • “22”
  • “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”
  • “I Knew You Were Trouble”
  • “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)”

Note: It may seem like an easy time-saver to simply swap out the ten-minute version of “All Too Well” for Swift’s original five-minute version, but doing so would be robbing Swifties of the best ten-minute segment in the entire show. We simply won’t hear of it. That song aside, the other three hits on this mini-set — similar to the Fearless era — form a perfect bite-sized capsule of the album they represent, leaving no excess behind.

ACT VII: 'Folklore'

  • “Betty”
  • “August”
  • “Illicit Affairs” (Bridge Only)
  • “My Tears Ricochet”
  • “Cardigan”

CUTS: “The 1” / “Invisible String” & “The Last Great American Dynasty”

Note: Sorry, Folklorians: It’ll always have a special place at the heart of the Eras Tour show, but Swift has now released three new albums since her initial alt-folk pivot — hence the harsher cuts here.

ACT VIII: '1989'

  • “Style”
  • “Blank Space”
  • “Shake It Off”
  • “Wildest Dreams”
  • “Bad Blood”

Note: It’s almost impossible to imagine cutting any of the five songs on the 1989 setlist, each of them massive, stadium-rocking hits a full ten years after their original release (three of them peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Wildest Dreams” and “Style” reached Nos. 5 and 6, respectively). A time-saving mashup between two or more of them could, however, be an avenue to explore if needed, with a majority of the tracks boasting similar keys and corresponding musical styles.

INTERLUDE: Surprise Songs

  • Surprise Song No. 1
  • Surprise Song No. 2

Note: It’s safe to assume that the nightly surprise song section will be where Swift makes up for unused Tortured Poets songs, giving fans the chance to hear acoustic versions of the 20+ tracks on her newest album that probably won’t make it onto the regular setlist .

ACT IX: 'Midnights'

  • “Lavender Haze”
  • “Anti-Hero”
  • “Vigilante Shit”
  • “Bejeweled”
  • “Karma”

CUTS: “Midnight Rain” & “Mastermind”

Note: The only non-single to remain safe, “Vigilante Shit” would’ve been next on the chopping block. But honestly — what would the Eras Tour be without Swift’s iconic sultry, Chicago -esque dance break?

ACT X: 'The Tortured Poets Department'

  • “Fortnight”
  • “The Tortured Poets Department”
  • “Down Bad”
  • “So Long, London”
  • “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”
  • Mashup: “Teardrops on My Guitar” x “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”
  • “But Daddy I Love Him”

Note: As Swift’s newest album, Tortured Poets deserves to be the finale. And while, upon first listen, the record may not seem like it has enough stadium-ready bops to close out the show, the above songs 100% have the potential to be converted into the high-energy moments the Eras Tour commands. Just imagine the theatrical potential of “Who’s Afraid,” the meta-ness of a real-life crowd chanting “More!” during “Broken Heart,” and confetti falling from the sky during the final chorus of “But Daddy…” We picture gothic visuals, writing desks, typewriter props, period costumes and lightning strikes during this section.

Now, about that mashup. It’s absurd that Swift has never included any songs from her 2006 self-titled debut album — aka her first-ever era — on the main Eras Tour setlist. But it’s not too late to rectify that.

Picture this: The lights go down after Swift performs “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” Costumes change, a tiger cage and other circus-themed set pieces are wheeled away. Then, the songwriter — her silhouette barely visible under the dim glow of an aquamarine spotlight — sings a cappella the final chorus of the first song about faking smiles in the face of heartbreak she ever released: “Teardrops on My Guitar.” Emphasis on the lyric, “the only one who’s got enough of me to break my heart.”

After she trails off on the last line — “Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won’t see” — the stadium comes to life once more as the crowd’s multi-color light-up bracelets go haywire, an explosion of sound filling the space. “I can read your mind,” Swift jumps in, surrounded by dancers as the lights suddenly go up, revealing one last fabulous costume. “‘She’s having the time of her life…'”

Once that’s done, she’ll move on to the finale, flipping off the haters, embracing her truest fans and proudly proclaiming her love for the man of her dreams in one fell swoop with “But Daddy I Love Him,” disappearing offstage before concertgoers have even finished singing along. Fin.

Pickleball to Eras Tour prep: How Taylor Swift’s skorts helped Popflex go viral

Taylor Swift wearing Popflex

Talk about a Swift sellout.

Following last Friday’s release of her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Taylor Swift took to YouTube Shorts to share some rare behind-the-scenes footage from her personal life, including a several-second snippet of herself playing pickleball in a tutu-style lavender skirt.

Despite the clip’s brevity, it took mere moments for Taylor Swift Style blogger Sarah Chapelle to ID the singer’s activewear as the Popflex Pirouette Skort ($60) — and just 15 minutes for the style to sell out completely in Swift’s lilac shade. Before long, it was wiped out of stock in all 11 colors.

“I was in shock. Pure shock,” the activewear brand’s founder, Cassey Ho , tells Page Six Style. At the time Swift posted the video, Ho was at the hair salon with her phone on “Do Not Disturb” mode, so she missed the first handful of calls from her husband as he tried to alert her of the major moment.

“It finally went through because when you do that on iPhone, it counts as an emergency,” she says, quipping, “This was an emergency.”

In an effort to meet the overwhelming demand, Ho enabled preorders for the lavender skort on her Shopify site — “we never do this,” she says — and has since sold “about 7,000” of the Swift-approved style. Since they’ll all be made from scratch, the skorts will ship in August.

“I don’t want to rush through anything; I want to make sure everyone who’s ordering the skort gets the same quality that Taylor got,” she notes.

But this was no flash-in-the-pan stroke of fortune for Ho and her brand — Swift returned to YouTube Thursday to share a compilation of clips from her recent Eras Tour rehearsals, which happened to be peppered with Popflex pieces.

In one scene, she pairs her Pirouette Skort with the brand’s Corset Bra ($44); in another, she takes the streamlined Twirl Skort ($54) for a spin, while a third shows her striking a confident pose in the Crisscross Hourglass Booty Short ($45).

Ho confirms none of the merchandise was gifted to the superstar.

“I think she placed an order — I don’t know when,” she tells us. “And it seems like she must have bought a lot of things!”

The fitness entrepreneur and influencer, who’s also the founder of the popular YouTube channel Blogilates , describes her designs as “romantic, feminine, but also always solving a problem,” pointing to Popflex’s inclusive size range (XXS to 3X) and multiple available legging lengths as examples of the latter.

“We all know that Taylor loves princesses and castles and love stories. And so I think because of that, she’s really drawn to the femininity and the romantic-ness of it all.”

Taylor Swift rehearsing

Scoring the Grammy winner’s stamp of approval is especially meaningful for Ho, who’s been a Swiftie since 2006.

In 2014, after posting a YouTube video spotlighting her favorite songs from Swift’s emotional “Red” album — “I was going through a lot at the time,” she says — the vlogger even scored an invite to one of her idol’s “secret sessions,” and was one of the first people to hear Swift’s then-unreleased “1989” record in the musician’s own LA home.

“ The Taylor Swift walks out with her red lips and her cropped hair and her crop top, and I’m physically shaking, and she walks over and says, ‘Cassey, I love your videos,'” Ho recalls. “I’m like, ‘What do you mean?!’ “

Cassey Ho and Taylor Swift posing for a Polaroid

Years later, the pair’s lives have paralleled in other ways; while Swift was fighting for ownership of her master recordings , Ho was battling larger companies selling bootleg versions of her creations.

“When I designed the Pirouette Skort a few years ago, I remember telling my husband, ‘This is the one that’s going to be stolen by Shein .’ I just knew, because it’s so different,” she says.

Since then, Ho tells me she’s dealt with two separate instances of the fast-fashion giant knocking off her signature design and selling it for cheap; she recently applied for a design patent to protect her work.

“It took a whole year for me to get the patent, but it was weirdly awarded on my birthday,” she says, adding that she announced the milestone with a TikTok set to — what else? — Swift’s tune “Karma.”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cassey Ho (@blogilates)

Unfortunately, the patent hasn’t put the kibosh on all the copycats.

“Amazon and TikTok Shop make it really easy,” the designer says, telling us she’s flagged “a ton” of listings for lookalike skorts that include customer reviews and photos taken from her own website — including snaps of Ho herself.

“Every day is like Whac-A-Mole; we take one [listing] down, they start a new account and put it up again,” she adds. “Dupe culture — counterfeit culture — has gotten out of control.”

But considering most Swifties now swear to only listen to the musician’s rerecorded versions of her earlier albums, Ho is confident that those in search of Swift’s skort will add “Cassey’s Version” to their carts.

“Swifties want the real thing. They want the thing that Taylor’s wearing,” she says. “And I just hope that the skort makes everyone who gets it really happy.”

When Taylor Swift released “The Tortured Poets Department,” on Friday at midnight, her fan base quickly got to work decoding the album, looking for layers of meaning and insight into Ms. Swift’s life. Of course, that includes the pop singer’s romantic history.

Like many of her past works, the songs on this album — which features over a dozen additional tracks as part of an extended album called “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” — are laden with names and references, many of which appear to be to real people from Ms. Swift’s universe and the literary canon. At least two poets, Dylan Thomas and Patti Smith, are mentioned.

Here’s a look at some of those characters.

Matty Healy

Plenty of lines from “Tortured Poets” have fans guessing that certain songs — including “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” “The Black Dog” and “Down Bad” — may be about Matty Healy , the frontman for the 1975 who was spotted out and about with Taylor on several occasions last spring. One clue Swifties are latching on to: On the “The Black Dog,” Ms. Swift refers to the band the Starting Line. Mr. Healy covered one of the band’s songs while he was touring last spring. And then there is the much-discussed reference to a person Ms. Swift describes as a “tattooed golden retriever" on the album’s title track. Mr. Healy seems to fit the bill, according to her fans.

Travis Kelce

Ms. Swift’s fans have been floating the notion that the many sports references in the track “The Alchemy” allude to the football player Travis Kelce , the singer’s current boyfriend. “So when I / Touch down, call the amateurs and cut ’em from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown, baby, I’m the one to beat," she sings in the chorus. “Where’s the trophy? / He just comes running over to me,” she adds in the bridge. But there is some debate, with some fans noting that her use of the term “blokes” would seem to imply the song is not about an American. (A winking line about “heroin but this time with an E” has some guessing the song is about Mr. Healy, who has previously spoken about his drug use.)

Ms. Swift and the actor Joe Alwyn broke up last year after a lengthy relationship. In the lead-up to the release of “Tortured Poets,” many fans believed this new album would process the end of that relationship. (Mr. Alwyn said in a 2022 interview that he was in a group text chat with the actors Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott called “ The Tortured Man Club .” Some fans believe Ms. Swift was nodding to this name with her latest album title.) There is some speculation that Track 5, “So Long, London,” is about Mr. Alwyn, who is British.

Jack Antonoff

A longtime collaborator of Ms. Swift’s, Jack Antonoff, who is credited as a producer on many of the new album’s songs, appears to get a lyrical shout out on the album’s title track.

The musician Lucy Dacus also appears on that same track. (In addition to her work as a solo artist, Ms. Dacus is a member of the supergroup boygenius, who surprised fans with a performance during a stop on Ms. Swift’s Eras tour last year.) “Sometimes, I wonder if you’re gonna screw this up with me / But you told Lucy you’d kill yourself if I ever leave / And I had said that to Jack about you, so I felt seen,” Ms. Swift sings.

Kim Kardashian

Ms. Swift often leaves clues for fans by capitalizing seemingly random letters in words which, when strung together, spell a different word. In the case of this album, the song “thanK you aIMee,” seems to reveal the name Kim. (Ms. Swift and Kim Kardashian have a long and unfriendly history .)

In Greek mythology, Cassandra is given the gift of prophecy by Apollo, but is cursed such that no one will ever believe her. On a song with the same name as the goddess, Ms. Swift sings, “So they killed Cassandra first / ’Cause she feared the worst / And tried to tell the town / So they filled my cell with snakes, I regret to say / Do you believe me now?” Snake emojis have also played a key role in the feud between Ms. Swift and Ms. Kardashian.

Charlie Puth

The singer-songwriter Charlie Puth gets a name drop on the title track: “You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.” Mr. Puth, through a representative, declined to comment.

The song “Peter” appears to refer to the storybook character Peter Pan. “You said you were gonna grow up / Then said you were gonna come find me,” Ms. Swift sings. She has made similar allusions in the past, including a line about “Peter losing Wendy” on her song “cardigan” in 2020.

Patti Smith

The American singer, songwriter, poet and author Patti Smith gets a name check on the title track in a line about New York’s iconic Chelsea Hotel , where she once lived. Ms. Smith has been hailed as the “ punk poet laureate .”

Dylan Thomas

The Welsh poet, known for works like “Do not go gentle into that good night,” is also mentioned along with Ms. Smith. “You’re not Dylan Thomas / I’m not Patti Smith / This ain’t the Chelsea Hotel / We’re modern idiots,” Ms. Swift sings. Thomas, who was also a resident at the Chelsea, is famous for his work as a neo-Romantic poet. (Ms. Swift has an older song, from her album “1989,” titled “New Romantics.”)

Clara Bow, an actress from the silent film era known as the first “it girl,” has an entire song dedicated to her on “Tortured Poets.” In 1927, Bow starred in a film titled “It” and became a national sex symbol before leaving the industry. Fans have pointed out that Ms. Swift’s thinly drawn eyebrows in a video teasing a new music video to accompany the song “Fortnight” bear a striking similarity to Ms. Bow’s.

Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks is named on the song “Clara Bow.” Ms. Nicks has said that Ms. Swift’s song “You’re on Your Own Kid” reminds her of Christine McVie, her Fleetwood Mac bandmate who died in 2022 . “You look like Stevie Nicks / In ’75, the hair and lips,” Ms. Swift sings in the song. (Ms. Nicks also wrote an original poem that accompanies a special vinyl edition of “Tortured Poets.”)

Inside the World of Taylor Swift

A Triumph at the Grammys: Taylor Swift made history  by winning her fourth album of the year at the 2024 edition of the awards, an event that saw women take many of the top awards .

‘The T ortured Poets Department’: Poets reacted to Swift’s new album name , weighing in on the pertinent question: What do the tortured poets think ?

In the Public Eye: The budding romance between Swift and the football player Travis Kelce created a monocultural vortex that reached its apex  at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas. Ahead of kickoff, we revisited some key moments in their relationship .

Politics (Taylor’s Version): After months of anticipation, Swift made her first foray into the 2024 election for Super Tuesday with a bipartisan message on Instagram . The singer, who some believe has enough influence  to affect the result of the election , has yet to endorse a presidential candidate.

Conspiracy Theories: In recent months, conspiracy theories about Swift and her relationship with Kelce have proliferated , largely driven by supporters of former President Donald Trump . The pop star's fans are shaking them off .

Taylor Swift earned her 12th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Here are all of her songs that topped the chart.

  • Taylor Swift's single "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 .
  • The song is Swift's 12th chart-topper, joining the ranks of hits like "Shake It Off" and "Anti-Hero."
  • All of Swift's No. 1 songs are listed below in chronological order of their peak dates.

1. "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Despite writing ubiquitous hits like "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story" earlier in her career (which peaked at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively), "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" was Swift's first-ever song to top the chart.

The country-pop-crossover smash was released as the lead single from Swift's fourth studio album "Red." It rose from No. 72 to No. 1 in its second week of tracking and remained atop the chart for three weeks.

2. "Shake It Off"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Shake It Off" was released as the lead single from Swift's fifth album "1989." It became her first song to debut at No. 1 and remained atop the chart for four weeks.

3. "Blank Space"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Blank Space," the second single from "1989," debuted at No. 18 on the Hot 100.

It rose to No. 13 before soaring to No. 1 in its third week — dethroning "Shake It Off" and making Swift the first woman in history to replace herself in the chart's top spot.

"Blank Space" went on to become one of Swift's biggest hits, reigning atop the chart for seven weeks.

4. "Bad Blood" featuring Kendrick Lamar

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

A remix of "Bad Blood" featuring Kendrick Lamar was released as the fourth single from "1989" on May 17, 2015.

It rose from No. 53 to the chart's top spot after the music video premiered at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards and broke the Vevo record for most views in 24 hours .

5. "Look What You Made Me Do"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Despite mixed reactions from critics, Swift's lead single for "Reputation" rose to No. 1 after its first full week of tracking, breaking the weekly streaming record for a song by a woman.

Once again, Swift's music video broke the record for most views within 24 hours , racking up 43.2 million views in its first day.

"Look What You Made Me Do" remained atop the chart for three weeks.

6. "Cardigan"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Swift announced the arrival of her eighth album, " Folklore ," just one day in advance. The second track, "Cardigan," was released at the same time as the album and promoted with a whimsical music video .

"Folklore" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 while "Cardigan" simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making Swift the first artist in history to open atop both charts in the same week.

7. "Willow"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

Just five months after "Folklore," Swift repeated her pandemic-era strategy and surprise-released " Evermore " alongside its lead single. The music video for "Willow" is painted as a witchy sequel to "Cardigan," with plenty of Easter eggs for fans buried in the details.

Again, "Evermore" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 while "Willow" simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, making Swift the first artist to debut atop both charts simultaneously — twice. (She has now done it six times.)

8. "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (From the Vault)"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

" Red (Taylor's Version) " was the second rerecorded album Swift released. It was accompanied by the long-awaited extended version of "All Too Well," a fan-favorite track from the original album.

"All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" was promoted with a self-directed short film  and plenty of theories about the song's potential muse . Fittingly, it debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

9. "Anti-Hero"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Anti-Hero" was released alongside " Midnights " and promoted as the album's lead single.

It quickly became Swift's biggest hit ever, reigning atop the Hot 100 for eight weeks and surpassing "Blank Space" as her longest-running No. 1 song.

The same week that "Anti-Hero" debuted at No. 1, Swift became the first and only artist in history to occupy the entire top 10 on the Hot 100 . The hit single was flanked by "Lavender Haze" (No. 2), "Maroon" (No. 3), "Snow on the Beach" (No. 4), "Midnight Rain" (No. 5), "Bejeweled" (No. 6), "Question...?" (No. 7), "You're On Your Own, Kid" (No. 8), "Karma" (No. 9), and "Vigilante Shit" (No. 10).

10. "Cruel Summer"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Cruel Summer" was originally released as the second track on Swift's 2019 album "Lover."

Although it was identified early as a fan favorite, the song was never promoted as a single and debuted modestly at No. 29 on the Hot 100.

Four years later, Swift transformed "Cruel Summer" into a showstopping spectacle on The Eras Tour . Streams of the song began to surge and it reigned atop Billboard's Pop Airplay chart for two months. Swift's label sent the song to pop radio in June 2023.

Finally, following the release of " The Cruelest Summer " EP — which includes a live version of the song and a remix by LP Giobbi — the song reached No. 1 on the Hot 100, marking Swift's milestone 10th chart-topper. It later returned to the top spot, notching four weeks total.

11. "Is It Over Now?"

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Is It Over Now?" was released as the final vault track on "1989 (Taylor's Version)," a rerecording of her beloved fifth album.

Although it wasn't initially slated as a single, passionate fan reception pushed Swift's team to serve the song to pop radio.

"Is It Over Now?" debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 , dethroning "Cruel Summer." Swift is the only woman in history to replace herself in the top spot; she previously achieved the feat in 2014, when "Blank Space" took the crown from "Shake It Off."

12. "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone

taylor swift 1989 tour outfits

"Fortnight" was released alongside " The Tortured Poets Department " and promoted as the album's lead single.

The Post Malone duet debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 while "Poets" simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning Swift's biggest sales week to date .

Once again, Swift managed to occupy the entire top 10 of the Hot 100 , becoming the first and only artist to achieve the feat twice. In fact, the top 14 positions on the chart were occupied by "Poets" tracks, including "Down Bad" (No. 2) and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" (No. 3), all the way through to "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived" (No. 14).

Swift is now tied with Madonna and The Supremes for the fifth-most No. 1 hits in history.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Date-Night Style Nods to 2 of Her Songs — Can You Spot the Easter Eggs?

The two had a cute date night following Patrick Mahomes' 15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala on April 27

Sacha_Tanha/ Instagram

If you thought Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce couldn’t get any cuter, their latest date-night looks have the couple’s cute-o-meter going through the roof. And they also happened to dress up as the pop star’s songs — Coincidence? We think not.

A new photo of the loved-up pair, shared by businessman Sacha Tanha on Instagram, shows them at what appears to be a private party at Toca Madera following their appearance at Patrick Mahomes ’ 15 and Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala in Las Vegas on April 27. Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes, was also in attendance and seated next to Swift.

In the picture shared on May 1, the “Fortnite” singer, 34, wears what looks to be a black Alaïa off-the-shoulder minidress with a flared hem (Alexa, play “Dress” by Taylor Swift.)

She accessorized the flirty number with minimalist gold jewelry, including a chain necklace, bracelet and lots of rings accenting her white manicure. And of course, she rocked her signature ruby red lip, which was undoubtedly kiss-proof .

If the Grammy winner’s dress was Reputation -coded, Kelce’s outfit had Folklore written all over it.

Sticking to his comfortable style sense, the NFL star, 34, sported a white T-shirt, beige pants and a multicolor knit cardigan (get it?). He also wore a chain necklace like Swift and seemed to have topped off his outfit with the white hat in his hand.

“Tortured Poets Society. I love nice people,” wrote Tanha, the director of hospitality at Noble33, the group that’s partnering with Kelce and Mahomes on a new Kansas City steakhouse called 1587 Prime .

Fans caught a glimpse at Swift and Kelce's gala style in footage captured by an attendee. Instead of channeling the black-and-white theme of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , Swift decided to add a little color to her date-night wardrobe with the emerald Regina gown by Maria Lucia Hohan.

Of course, most sizes of the $2,405 gown are sold out on the label’s website but are available for preorder , so you too can make the whole place shimmer.

Swifties were also convinced that the Vitaly's Shimmer gold choker that she wore was also a nod to a lyric in “Bejeweled.”

Kelce looked sharp in a navy suit and white shirt, which he wore with a few of the top buttons undone, giving the look a sexy vibe.

Besides the fashion, Kelce and Swift’s night out supplied lots of cute couple moments between the two.

When the Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? host got up on stage to reveal Swift had put four tickets for her Eras Tour up for auction, he sweetly called her his “ significant other .” In another video captured at the event, Kelce couldn’t keep his kisses in. The clip showed him  planting multiple smooches on the singer’s shoulder and arm.
