La Punt - Oberwil-Lieli 215.3 km
With the big climbing finished off on weekdays we’re down to more punchy stage finishes for the weekend.
Expected finish time: 16:00-16:35 CEST
Ober Will of the Day : Dylan Teuns
Seems to be coming into TdF form and if the finish is as hard as it looks it might be right up his alley.

Tour de Suisse 2023 Route stage 6: Chur - Oberwil-Lieli
[Underneath you’ll find the original route. The first two paragraphs are taken out of the route and the new start is in Chur, at the beginning of paragraph 3]
The riders climb the Albula Pass from the start. The ascent from La Punt is 8.9 kilometres long and the average gradient sits at 6.8%.
A descent of over 30 kilometres takes the pilots to the second climb of the day. This is a 7.5 kilometres climb at 7.5%. After the KOM sprint in Lenz the route continues to climb at shallow gradients for approximately 6 kilometres.
The riders descend to Chur before entering the second part of the race. This section is 85 kilometres long and mostly flat. The Kerenzerberg is the only hurdle – 5.9 kilometres at 4.5% and with the summit 90 kilometres before the finish.
One could argue that the third part of the route is a hilly race. The first obstacle appears with 55 kilometres to go – it’s a 2.5 kilometres climb at 9.8%. The route continues to go up either up or down, while the finale opens with 15 kilometres left on a 700 metres ramp at 8.8%.
A downhill leads to the base of the climb to Islisberg – 1.4 kilometres at 8.4% – before another downhill ushers in the finish climb. The last 2.5 kilometres rise at 6.7% to the line.
Starting at kilometre 107.2, the Golden Kilometre serves two opportunities to gain time bonuses of 3, 2 and 1 seconds. The first three riders on the line take 10, 6 and 4 seconds.

The race is expected to finish around 16:20 local time (CEST).

How to watch Tour de Suisse live stream 2023 — schedule and start times
1097km long and 18,000 vertical metres over 8 days of pain
The last sizeable stage race before 'the big one', the Tour de Suisse offers a final chance for riders to fine tune their race form. After his Covid curtailed Giro, Remco Evenepoel will be keen to make use of the form he so carefully built for the Italian race and take home the win but will face stiff competition from the likes of Tom Pidcock, Juan Ayuso and Romain Bardet.
With the whole race still in shock following the death of Gino Mäder during stage 5 it was understandable that there was little impetus to race stage 7. Three teams left the race overnight along with many other riders too upset to continue, leaving those who signed on to ride tempo until the last climb. Muted hostilities were resumed here and fittingly it was world champion Remco Evenepole who broke away to ride solo to a symbolic and emotional victory, honouring the memory of a life lost too young.
Dates: Sunday, June 11 – Sunday June 18 (stage times listed below) FREE live stream: L'Equipe TV (France) | SRF (Switzerland) Watch anywhere: try No. 1 overall VPN 100% risk-free Global live streams: Discovery+/GCN+ (UK) | FloBikes (US, AU, CA)
This tragic edition of the Tour de Suisse will conclude with stage 8, the second individual time trial where riders will resume the race for the overall victory, each one carrying the memory of Gino with them, inspiring them to push harder around the 25.7km from St. Gallen to Abtwi.
Other big names lining up to get into the swing of things before the ‘Grande Boucle’ are the irrepressible Wout Van Aert and Eritrean sensation Biniam Girmay. Read on as we explain how to get a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream and watch UCI WorldTour cycling online and on TV from anywhere today. We also have info on this year’s Tour de Suisse stages and start times below.
Bookended by time trials – the first a 12.7km test around the monastery village of Einsiedeln and the second, on stage 8, a 25.7 km course from St. Gallen to Abtwil – this year's race has attracted top TT talent like Stefan Bissinger and Stefan Küng.
In-between these flat stages, though, these heavier riders will face a whole world of pain as the race covers some of Switzerland’s most feared mountains. With a summit finish on stage 3 up the vicious ascent to Villars-sur-Ollon, the general classification battle will be well and truly taking shape and things only get harder.
Stage 4 is another very lumpy affair but nothing compared to the Queen stage the following day. Stage 5 takes the riders over the legendary Furka Pass, the Oberalp and Albula to gain 4700m altitude over its 211km and it’s likely here is where the race will be won or lost.
Read on for everything you need to know to watch a 2023 Tour de Suisse live stream from anywhere.

Simon Warren has been obsessed with cycling since the summer of 1989 after watching Greg Lemond battle Laurent Fignon in the Tour de France. Although not having what it took to beat the best, he found his forte was racing up hills and so began his fascination with steep roads. Covering the British Isles, Belgium, France, Italy and Spain he has been riding and racing up hills and mountains for over 30 years now.
