At the same time, you don’t want to sacrifice utility. Luckily — if you know what to look for — there is travel gear that’s both affordable and can give you considerable bang for your buck. This drop-bottom weekender bag from The Home Edit (yes, the grande dames of organization) has loads of high-end features yet it’s on sale at Walmart for ... get this ... just $25! I test travel products for a living; believe me when I say that even I'm eyeing this deal.

If you're looking for a roomy and affordable weekender bag that also has dedicated shoe storage, Walmart shoppers say this is one of the best you'll find.

💰 Why is this a good deal?

At its original $40 price tag, this weekender bag was already a steal, but at its new $25 sale price, it's obvious that this is a hell of a bargain. Also, putting it into perspective, from early March back to December 2023, this bag was stalled at its original retail price. We love that it dropped to $25 just in time for spring and summer travel — making it THE time to snag this bag on sale before it potentially reverts.

A quality weekender bag is a travel essential that everyone needs. Whether you're taking a trip across town or across the country, a good weekender can be your carry-all for a quick getaway, or the ultimate carry-on for longer trips.

The problem some shoppers have with weekender bags is their restrictive capacity. Lots of options don't give enough room to store essentials like shoes and toiletries, requiring you to either size up or carry a whole other bag. Beginning today, Walmart+ members can book getaways through  WalmartPlusTravel.com  and get Walmart Cash. Walmart+ members will receive 5% Walmart Cash on hotels, vacation rentals, car rentals and activities bookings, 2% Walmart Cash on all flights and a blended rate of Walmart Cash on vacation packages 1 .

Travel booking on WalmartPlusTravel.com is powered by Expedia Group’s White Label Template technology, giving Walmart+ members access to more than 900,000 properties, 500+ airlines, 100+ car rental companies and thousands of activities around the world. This new offering will make shopping for travel a win-win for Walmart+ members as they begin getting Walmart Cash, previously  Walmart Rewards , on all aspects of their vacation getaways.

"We're bringing together the ultimate savings membership and vacation booking site to deliver a first-ever travel-focused benefit for Walmart+ members," said Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+. This new benefit, powered by Expedia, gives Walmart+ members the exclusive ability to get Walmart Cash by booking epic vacations  

There’s still time to pack your bags – Walmart is taking its valued Walmart+ members on a new, more rewarding journey before the summer travel season becomes this fall’s show-and-tell. Beginning today, Walmart+ members can book getaways through WalmartPlusTravel.com and get Walmart Cash. Walmart+ members will receive 5% Walmart Cash on hotels, vacation rentals, car rentals and activities bookings, 2% Walmart Cash on all flights and a blended rate of Walmart Cash on vacation packages 1 .  

Travel booking on WalmartPlusTravel.com is powered by Expedia Group’s White Label Template technology, giving Walmart+ members access to more than 900,000 properties, 500+ airlines, 100+ car rental companies and thousands of activities around the world. This new offering will make shopping for travel a win-win for Walmart+ members as they begin getting Walmart Cash, previously Walmart Rewards , on all aspects of their vacation getaways.  

“We’re bringing together the ultimate savings membership and vacation booking site to deliver a first-ever travel-focused benefit for Walmart+ members,” said Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+. “Combined with our other benefits – including free delivery, streaming and savings on fuel – we’re creating a membership that saves customers time and money, whether they’re at home or having fun at their favorite vacation destination.”  

Here’s how it works:  

• Easy to find: Walmart+ members will access travel through their member benefits hub in the app or WalmartPlusTravel.com.  
• Easy to book: Members can choose travel options like flights, hotels, vacation rentals, car rentals, packages and activities.  
• Easy to earn : After the booking is confirmed, any Walmart Cash received will appear in the member’s Walmart wallet. Walmart Cash will become available 30 days after travel is completed and can be used on future Walmart purchases or cashed out in store.

Walmart+ is consistently evolving to deliver what’s most important for members, most recently with the evolution of Walmart Rewards to Walmart Cash, the same great program, under a new name and with the added ability to cash-out in store. Over time, some of the components of Walmart Cash will expand to all customers, while additional ways to get Walmart Cash will remain exclusive to members, like Walmart+ Travel.

Millions of Tide, Gain laundry pod bags recalled

SAN ANTONIO – Procter and Gamble is recalling 8.2 million bags of laundry detergent pods, including Tide and Gain products.

The problem is with defective packaging, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The outer bag can split open near the zipper track, making the potent, concentrated liquid pods accessible to children.

The chemicals can burn skin, damage eyes or cause seizures, coma or breathing difficulties to a child or other vulnerable person who may ingest the contents.

There are three reports of children ingesting the detergent during the time the recalled products were sold between September 2023 and February 2024. It’s not known if the children ingested recalled products.

Consumers can check for recalled lot codes at pg.com/bags and compare them to codes at the bottom of their package. The CPSC has advised consumers to immediately put recalled bags out of sight and reach of children. Consumers can contact Procter & Gamble for a refund and a free replacement child-resistant bag to store the product.

Black+Decker is recalling 1.6 million garment steamers after dozens of people reported burn injuries while using it.

The recall is for Easy Garment Steamers HGS011. The steamers can expel, spray or leak hot water while people are using it, according to the CPSC.

More than a half million of them were part of a 2022 recall. However, since then, the company received more than 80 reports of burns.

Empower Brands is now expanding the recall and offering a full refund.

The steamers were sold from June 2021 to February 2024 at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, as well as at other stores.

Walmart has recalled more than 50,000 Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers because the chopper’s blade can operate unexpectedly during assembly or when not enclosed in the container. Five people reported cut injuries.

This recall involves model number MS14100094536S1. The choppers are rechargeable and cordless, and have a green lid, white body, and clear plastic bowl. They have one blade attachment, which consists of three curved blades on one white plastic spindle.

Walmart sold them in stores and online from August 2022 through October 2023.

Consumers can return the chopper to Walmart and get their money back.
