Passport Health
South Carolina Travel Clinics
Passport Health has the most popular travel vaccines on hand and ready for your journey, including protection against typhoid , cholera and hepatitis A .
Before heading to locations where yellow fever is a risk, it’s important to receive a vaccination. This viral disease, spread by mosquito bites, can be life-threatening. Vaccination offers protection and supports public health.
It’s best to go to a special travel clinic which knows about yellow fever and carries the vaccine, like Passport Health. We can also tell you about other shots or medicines you may need for your trip. Our clinics are authorized yellow fever vaccine providers and can give you a yellow card (or proof of vaccination) that shows you got the shot. Some countries need to see this card before they let you in.
Travel clinics also make it easy to get all the shots you need in one visit. Passport Health keeps yellow fever and all other key travel vaccines in-stock for your trip.
Up to 70 percent of tourists will have symptoms of travelers’ diarrhea during a journey, which has been called “Montezuma’s Revenge,” “Delhi Belly,” and “Pharaoh’s Revenge” in the past. Passport Health offers travelers’ diarrhea kits, vaccinations and more to help you stay protected abroad.
Repellents, mosquito netting, diarrhea kits, and other such items may be useful to travelers. Passport Health has everything you need, no matter where you are going the world. Click or tap to see our store .

7 Prisma mobile vaccination locations to target Black, Hispanic populations in Greenville
Three mobile vaccination vehicles, resembling a food truck but with Pfizer vaccines instead of phyllo dough, have been fanning out in Greenville County areas.
So far, the mobile vaccine clinics have given out 1,700 vaccines in Greenville County at a half-dozen locations. Another seven locations, starting with Heritage Elementary School in Traveler's Rest on Saturday, are planned.
There are few people registered for the Saturday event and a Prisma Health doctor said she and people in the community there are trying to get more than 100 to turn out on Saturday.
The program is designed to reach out to groups that have not been able to get access to vaccines, often areas with elderly or large Black or Hispanic populations, said Dr. Kerry Sease, a pediatrician who is overseeing the Prisma mobile program and is the medical director of Prisma Health's Child Health Institute.
The Greenville program was funded with $1.8 million in federal CARES Act money that came through the county. It was among the largest recipients of federal money.
More: SC will get more than 100,000 COVID vaccine doses next week, mobile vaccine drives coming to the Upstate
The program also aims to reach people who don't have access to the Internet, which is often a requirement for vaccine appointments.
Sease told Greenville County Council members during a committee meeting Tuesday that the program has been working, reaching people who need and want the vaccine but haven't been able to get it.
County Council members praised the program. Council member Lynn Ballard said he has seen at least four of the mobile clinics in action and they have worked effectively.
The program began in February, with Prisma and other health care systems in the state.
It picked up interest for a while but demand has been dropping, as it has for fixed vaccination clinics statewide, Sease said.
More: Here's how Greenville County is spending $16 million in CARES Act funding
The program has been used just in Greenville County. There are other programs elsewhere in the state.
South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control officials said they are compiling information on other mobile programs in response to a request from The Greenville News.
The Prisma program is done drive-in style, people stay in their vehicles, sign up when they arrive, get the vaccine and wait for at least 15 minutes to make sure there are no complications.
Like other vaccine programs, there is no cost or insurance required to get the vaccine.
Sease said there are plans to repurpose the trucks once vaccinations are no longer needed, by using them as mobile informative kitchens, school health care replacements during summertime or other training purposes.
Other health care systems have expressed interest in having mobile programs. AnMed Health announced Tuesday that it was offering walk-in vaccinations, no appointment necessary, because demand for vaccine appointments has been falling.
More: Greenville County is in a race to spend millions in COVID aid by Dec. 30 deadline
AnMed is planning workplace vaccinations and other programs and Dr. Michael Seemuller said mobile clinics would be a welcome addition to those efforts.
They are coming next to:
- Heritage Elementary
- Sterling School
- Phyllis Wheatley Community Center
- Fountain Inn
Times and addresses will be updated, the mobile clinics are designed to not require Internet access so more people can be vaccinated.

USC Educational Foundation names Toni Torres-McGehee as winner of Outstanding Service Award
April 30, 2024 | Erin Bluvas, [email protected]
Just one year after receiving the top service award from the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA), Toni Torres-McGehee has won another major service award. The exercise science associate professor has been selected as the winner of the 2024 USC Educational Foundation Outstanding Service Award .
“In well over two decades as a faculty member in higher education, I do not recall seeing anyone who has dedicated themselves to the betterment of the university and a willingness to serve as Dr. Torres-McGehee has,” says Shawn Arent , chair for the Arnold School’s Department of Exercise Science. “She exemplifies servant leadership in her approach, which also includes tremendous transparency, compassion, advocacy and support for those around her.”
I cannot think of a more deserving and well-rounded faculty member that embraces the long history of athletic training education while progressively pushing her program and self to imagine health care education differently.
Torres-McGehee’s service contributions span two main areas. As an expert in the field of athletic training and the director of the department’s athletic training programs , she makes an impact on the profession and students/future athletic trainers. She also serves as the school’s Associate Dean of Access and Collective Engagement and co-chair for USC’s Council of Academic Diversity Officers, advocating for marginalized individuals and groups in the university community and beyond.
Inspired by her mother’s dedication to service, the first-generation college student benefited from numerous mentors throughout her educational and professional journeys – never taking a moment for granted and vowing to pay it forward through her own good works. Those journeys have included associate’s (Cochise College), bachelor’s (Southern Utah University), master’s (Texas Tech University) and doctoral (The University of Alabama) degrees across the Southern United States before landing her first academic appointment at USC in 2006.
Over the years, her professional service has included numerous roles for scientific journals as well as NATA and the Commission on Accreditation for Athletic Training Education, which she currently leads as president. As the director of athletic training programs and the program director for its post-professional program, Torres-McGehee mentors both faculty and students – chairing research committees for six doctoral students, 82 master’s students and 25 undergraduates and advising students in the Maternal and Child Health Leadership, Education, and Advancement in Undergraduate Pathways (MCH LEAP) program.
With her Mexican American heritage shaping her childhood, Torres-McGehee has always brought a perspective of diversity and inclusion to her work – dating all the way back to her first days as an athletic trainer providing medical care to underserved patients in the panhandle of Texas. It has been an underlining theme throughout her career, from service to research to mentorship. In addition to the diversity, access and equity-related roles she has taken on with professional organizations and at the university, she has developed an athletic training outreach service program that provides services to eight counties in the state while exposing students to diverse clinical experiences.
“Dr. Torres-McGehee values globalization, international students and diverse backgrounds not only by race, but in religion, sexuality and thought,” Arent says. “She believes that by promoting these values, the students that graduate from the program will be better prepared to serve the local and global communities.”
In well over two decades as a faculty member in higher education, I do not recall seeing anyone who has dedicated themselves to the betterment of the university and a willingness to serve as Dr. Torres-McGehee has. She exemplifies servant leadership in her approach, which also includes tremendous transparency, compassion, advocacy and support for those around her.
Always pushing herself to learn more and make a bigger impact, Torres-McGehee considers leadership to be intertwined with service. She has completed the USC Pipeline for Academic Leaders Program, Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Leadership Development Program, SEC Academic Leadership Development Program Alumni Fellowship, and Shared-Equity Leadership Development Program. Torres-McGehee is currently an Education Advisory Board Rising Higher Education Leaders Fellow.
“I cannot think of a more deserving and well-rounded faculty member that embraces the long history of athletic training education while progressively pushing her program and self to imagine health care education differently,” Arent adds. “She recognizes that athletic training is public health and encourages the students in our program to give back to the community through a population-based health approach.”
