Live London Underground updates as 4 Tube lines delayed and DLR part suspended
DLR staff are striking today, bringing most services to a halt
- Updated 10:23, 7 NOV 2023
Travellers across the London Underground, Overground and the rest of the Transport for London (TfL) network are facing disruption today (Tuesday, November 7).
In addition, there is limited service today and tomorrow on the DLR due to strike action. TfL has warned that Tube services may be busier as a result. Service is operating between Canning Town and Beckton, and there is a limited service between Woolwich Arsenal and Poplar only. There is no service on other DLR routes due to strike action.
The Central line , Circle line and Hammersmith & City line are all experiencing minor delays. The first due to a signal failure at St Paul's, the second and third due to a faulty train at Mile End.
On the District line , there are severe delays between Tower Hill and Upminster eastbound only due to the same faulty train at Mile End.

Tories criticise Sadiq Khan over strike
Keith Prince AM said: “As Londoners face another two days of transport disruption, it’s time for Mayor Sadiq Khan to end the strike culture at TfL and stand up to the militant trade unions. Sadiq Khan promised zero strikes on London’s transport network, but he has presided over more strikes than any of his predecessors.
"It’s time the Mayor got a grip, faced down the militant unions, delivered the reforms TfL desperately needs, and ended these strikes.”
Who is striking today?
RMT union members - who work for TfL’s operator KeolisAmey Docklands - are striking today (Tuesday, November 7) and are due to again tomorrow (Wednesday, November 8) over pay and conditions.
TfL has said that, due to staff walking out, there is no service expected on the whole of DLR network. If any services do run, they will be "very limited, starting later and finishing much earlier than normal".
Piccadilly line fully operational
TfL is reporting that the Piccadilly line is now fully operational after being part suspended earlier this morning.
Earlier, there was no service between South Harrow and Uxbridge due to a fire alert at South Harrow.
Strike knock-on effects
TfL has said that the DLR strike might cause some disruption later in the week.
On the morning of Thursday (November 9), bosses say DLR services may experience some "minor disruption" due to the previous day’s action.
Glynn Barton, TfL's Chief Operating Officer, said last week: “Strikes are bad news for everyone and we continue to work with our operator, KeolisAmey Docklands, to try and resolve the matter and avoid disruption to our customers. Our advice for our customers is clear; plan ahead, consider alternative routes, check before you travel and allow extra time to complete your journeys.”
Elizabeth line update
TfL is now reporting that engineers have fixed a track fault on the Elizabeth line.
A good service, the authority reports, has returned to all routes.
Good service on Metropolitan line
A good service has returned to the Metropolitan line after earier delays.
This was due to a shortage of trains, officials said.
Metropolitan line disrupted
TfL is now reporting minor delays between Moor Park and Amersham on the Metropolitan line.
Officials say this is due to a shortage of trains. There is a good service reported on the rest of the line.
Elizabeth line delays
There are currently minor delays on the Elizabeth line between Shenfield and Paddington and Abbey Wood. This is as a result of a track fault at Forest Gate.
TfL says there is a good service on the rest of the line.
Piccadilly line part suspended
TfL says there is no Piccadilly line service between South Harrow and Uxbridge due to a fire alert at South Harrow.
But there is reportedly a good service on the rest of the line.
Other services busier than usual
TfL has warned that alternative services to the DLR are expected to be busier than usual today amid strike action.
These include London buses , the Elizabeth line, London Overground , London Underground and IFS Cloud Cable Car. Officials say they will operate as normal but are expected to be transporting more customers.

Provide a symbol table on the app to assist interpretation
If you could provide a symbol table to assist with the interpretation of the map in the app, this would be helpful. Also, finding it hard to interpret the suggested route.
