I brought my road bike in for service prior to my big event this Sunday, 24Jul2022, Ben to Shore fundraiser ride and back. I had some lateral play in my rear wheel that developed after my attempt to replace bearing set. Rather than trying to take it apart, figure go to the expert and save myself the hassle. Well, it was a very good decision because I got Owen working on my bike. He has done exceptional work in the past on the same bike and I highly recommend this place for your bike repair. Not only is he thorough but does a great job explaining what was done and provide an overall great experience. I've never bought a bike there yet but definitely be back for future work that I can't handle myself. thanks Owen for great service!
Went there to rent some bikes for the day. They could not have been more nice or helpful. If I lived in town it would be my local bike shop. Great people
I am not one to ever give bad reviews, but this time I have to. I dropped my wheel and axel off on a Saturday morning. The son of the owner told me the job was not a big deal and it would cost $30 and be ready that same week. 11 days later it wasn't even started. I called twice and nobody returned my call. I stopped in to pick up my parts whether it was done or not and the owner put the blame on me. Told me that there is no way his son would have said same week. He said it would be 2 weeks at least. No apologies, no explanation, just rude. Sorry guys, but you treated me like poop so here you go.
AMAZING customer service and I love that it's a family owned business. They are great with repairs and knowledgeable on any and all issues. The shop is also like a cute almost bicycle museum of sorts. It's also conveniently located right on the Perkiomen trail so you can literally ride right off the property along the river. Also if you have any old classic schwinn bicycles the owner Joe also restores old bikes and I'm telling you it's absolutely unreal what I've seen in before and after photos. Truly amazing!
These guys are fantastic! Please patronize this place. Needed minor repairs and help, and they were awesome to deal with and services and parts were fairly priced. Love supporting local small business, and these guys are the best in the area! Thanks!
Super friendly, great service! Very happy we found Perkiomen Bicycles, my son is pretty picky about who services his bikes when he can't do it himself and these folks are the real deal!
This is a great bike shop . Very organized and did a great repair and tune up just in the time they predicted.
I brought my bicycle here because it would not shift without falling apart. When I got it back, everything worked fine besides the chain alignment shifter/selector thing that moves the chain into the next gear.
About 2 months ago, I was playing golf in that part of PA and decided to purchase a much needed new tire for my road bike. I did not put the tire on until about a month later. While riding it the first time, I thought I had a flat. There was a definite odd feel, but I did a quick check and the tire was still firm. I did a closer inspection when i got home and noticed the tube partially protruding from the sidewalk. I called the store and sent a picture, and in 3 days had the new tire delivered to my home saving me the 60 mile round trip. Now that's service! Thanks guys!
After visiting 6 other bicycle shops, I finally chose to do business with Tailwind for their combination of service, selection, and price. I was recently in the market for a carbon road bike. I was pretty weary from visiting one bike shop after another that only carried Trek bikes, or had limited bikes in stock, or had terrible customer service. But I decided to try one more dealer, Tailwind, because I saw that they carried Scott and Jamis bikes, two bikes that I hadn't tried yet. When I entered the shop, I was immediately greeted by a salesperson, who showed me around and explained their selection. After asking me a few questions, he introduced me to Chad, who showed me the custom made Cinelli Pro Estrada. What a gorgeous bike. So much prettier than the Trek bikes I rode. I took the Cinelli for a test ride around the streets of Schwenksville. For the most part, the surrounding streets are safe for test rides, although I had to cross busy Rt. 29. The area is very hilly, if you like to test out a bike on hills. The shop is also adjacent to the Perkiomen Trail, if you prefer to test a bike on flat terrain. I loved the Cinelli, and at the sale price, it was right in my price range. Once Chad threw in a free bike fitting, I couldn't resist. I had to endure a lot of shopping to get to this point, but in the end I got a lot more bike for my money than I would have gotten anywhere else. They weren't yet available at the time I was shopping, but Tailwind has since added Pinarello bikes to their selection. Pinarello is another brand that was high on my list, and I haven't seen it offered anywhere else. As a follow-up note, I was having some shifting issues with the Cinelli, but I brought it back to the shop, explained the problem, and the owner, Joe, corrected the problem within a few minutes, free of charge. Joe also fitted me to my bike, and now I am one happy rider.

Dan's past shop experience has included wrenching and sales for shops in the New England and Pennsylvania area. An apprenticeship was held for a year in Boston learning how to build and braze steel frames. This study led him to build his own steel Cyclocross frame. Recently, Dan attended UBI in Portland, Oregeon to study TIG welding and came out with his own 29er frame. Known to turn your old road bike into a single speed in mere minutes, he also enjoys tandem bicycle rides and playing drums. He is always willing to talk about custom frames and is hoping to sell his own line of bikes here at Doylestown Bike Works.

Kirk Palermo
Kirk was raised on the wind-swept plains of the Mongolian steppe. Born in a yurt, his formative years were spent engaged in animal husbandry and learning the ancient art of fermenting yak milk. Always impetuous, Kirk enjoyed the freedom of the saddle as his tribe defiled and pillaged their way from the Great Wall to the fertile river valleys of the Blue Danube. After finding his way to Pennsylvania, Kirk transferred this love of movement to the bicycle. While many miles from the land of his youth, Kirk’s spirit is often expressed by blood-curdling war whoops from the saddle.
Rena Frascella
Sales Associate, Bike Adventurist
Rena loves the freedom that the bicycle symbolizes for people. The bike can be an adventure, transportation, a race machine, or it can just be fun! She is here to help everyone discover their potential for what the bike means to them.
Sales Associate, Bike Bloke
Aside from his college years in State College, where he discovered his bittersweet relationship with hills in Centre County, Joe has been riding the roads of Bucks County his entire life. Moving west little by little, he spent his youth in Yardley, moved to Newtown and then crossed the creek to his current home in Holland. He’s a roadie through and through, despite Brian’s relentless pursuit to get him on some single track. Joe has spent the majority of his career in hospitality, farming and landscaping. However, he could not pass up the opportunity to work with bikes and cycling friends when the opportunity to join the Bike Works-Newtown staff presented itself. When Joe is not doing something bike related, he enjoys time with his family, traveling and music.
