If you love cycling, this is a must-visit spot. The Trek Bicycle Store is conveniently located where Dubai's Al Qudra Road and the luxury desert resort, Bab Al Shams, meet. Offering bicycles and other cycle-related equipment, this store gives cyclists a chance to explore the impressive Al Qudra Cycle Course, a track that stretches into the desert in the form of an uninterrupted 85km loop. 

You don't need to cycle the whole track if you don't want to. Choose the 16km out-and-back, known locally as The Stick, opt for the 50km loop that starts at the store, or add a 20–30km extension. 

As you cycle through Dubai's stunning desert landscape, enjoy glorious sunrises and sunsets and spot incredible wildlife, including oryx and camels.

Electra Bicycle Company (Electra brand belongs to the TREK company) and the multi-brand bicycle boutique Wowbikes are proud to announce the opening of dedicated zones within Virgin Megastores at Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.

These unique spaces not only feature Electra brand but also showcase a diverse range of handcrafted manual and electric bicycles from the most famous European and English manufacturers. Unique bicycle brands such as RUFF, Benno, Pashley, Schindelhauer, Moulton and Vello are now available on the Virgin Megastore website and in the physical stores.

The success of the dedicated zones in Virgin Megastores at Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates has paved the way for future expansion plans to other Virgin locations, both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, ensuring that more customers across the UAE have access to the unique and stylish bicycles offered by Electra and Wowbikes.

The compact corners with the bicycles from the range of Wowbikes have already found homes in prominent shopping destinations like Mercato Mall, Hills Mall, Galleria Mall (Abu Dhabi), and City Centre Al Zahia (Sharjah). Excitingly, the near future holds the promise of an exceptional experience with the unveiling of a special dedicated Electra and Wowbikes zone at Virgin Megastore in Yas Mall (Abu Dhabi). This specialized zone at Yas Mall is poised to become the flagship destination for enthusiasts, embodying the essence of Electra and Wowbikes in the emirate.

Chris Pine made a splash at the Los Angeles premiere for his directorial debut “ Poolman ” at The Vista Theatre on Wednesday night. He arrived decked out in one of his looks in the movie in an “I Heart LA” shirt, corduroy short shorts, polarized sunglasses and long stringy hair extensions.

“Poolman” follows Darren Barrenman (Pine), a man who spends his days looking after the pool of an apartment complex while also fighting a corrupt politician and a greedy land developer to make his hometown of Los Angeles a better place.

The “Star Trek” actor co-wrote the screenplay for “Poolman” alongside Ian Gotler and served as a producer. He calls the movie “a blender full of every single film” he watched during COVID quarantine in 2020 and says he drew on the works Buster Keaton and director-writer Peter Bogdanovich as inspirations.

The film also stars Annette Bening, Danny DeVito , Jennifer Jason Leigh and DeWanda Wise. DeVito, who plays Darren’s friend and father-like figure Jack, says he met Pine way before working with him – when he was in high school with DeVito’s children.

“The kids knew him then and as things progressed, we’d see each other once in a while and just share stories,” DeVito said. “When he sent me the script, I was very flattered and loved it. I thought it was really unique and crazy and off the charts and couldn’t wait to see what he did with it.”

As Pine pulled up to the premiere in a hippie-esque blue van and hung out the door waving to people on the carpet, his father, actor Robert Pine, watched in awe.

“I didn’t know he was going to do that,” Robert Pine told Variety . “That’s what I love about him. He’s unique, he’s inventive. He’s creating right there.”

“Poolman” will be in theaters May 10.
