No buffets or big dining halls

With intimate spaces and diverse options to match your mood, we’ve ditched the one-big-dining-hall experience and the waste it creates by saying goodbye to buffets.

Late-night bites

Whether you feel like getting breakfast from our 24/7 diner or a late-night slice from The Pizza Place — if your schedule doesn’t stop, nor does ours.

Always bringing fresh ingredients and made-to-order cooking to the table, our foodie-approved eateries offer everything from food truck faves to ten-course feasts — perfect for crushing any craving.

Steak & Seafood

The Wake brings a modern twist to the classic chophouses of the mid-20th century. Once you've made your way down the grand staircase, you'll enter a world that harks back to the old steakhouse, three-martini-lunch days of Madison Avenue ad men. But, thankfully, with gender equality now and, you know, no cigar smoke.

Lively Korean BBQ

If you're into hands-on meat grilling and soju drinking, our Korean BBQ is *the* perfect spot to do all that. Every meal at Gunbae begins with a Korean drinking game that includes a complimentary shot of soju. And since we all have that one friend who insists on being the meat master, this is the time to roast the master while the master roasts the meat. GUNBAE!

Here you have complete control over your pie — from the dough to the cheese, a little cracked pepper, a little ricotta, and any other topping you want… Or you can just choose from the class menu and lounge on the hammocks outside.

The Social Club

From fairground staples like pretzels and hotdogs to modern takes on milkshakes and floats, The Social Club is perfect for playing a good game of air hockey, shuffleboard, foosball, and more.

Your go-to for a quick bite, meal, or pick-me-up throughout the day. Featuring a mix of shops and food-truck-style carts. The Galley boasts a dedicated bakery and pastry shop, a panini shop, a burger grill, a taco shack, a sushi bar with bento boxes, a noodle bar, a soup and salad stand, and a 24-hour American diner.

Virgin voyages restaurant menus and dining guide.

Published by

Virgin Voyages is well known for it’s excellent Michelin rated restaurants and eateries. With over 21 unique dining options, the only problem you will have is choosing where to eat during your cruise. But don’t worry, you really cannot go wrong with any of the options onboard. I’ve created this dining guide, complete with Virgin Voyages restaurant menus, to help you choose the best meals on your cruise.

This guide covers the six “traditional” restaurants on Virgin Voyages’ ships. I say traditional because these restaurants accept reservations and offer sit-down seating, but nothing Virgin does is truly “traditional.” These restaurants are similar to what you’d find at an upscale boutique hotel or in hip cities across the world. Virgin Voyages restaurant menus also feature “Sip & Savor” options which pair drinks with your meals.

Restaurant reservations can be made 45 days prior to sailing, or 60 days in advance if you’re a RockStar or MegaRockstar . Simply login to the Virgin Voyages Sailor app and select your desired time and date. Or better yet, book your cruise with me , and I will help make your dinner reservations for you!

First a disclaimer: I do my best to make sure all menus are up-to-date, but menus are subject to change. I’ve included my recommendations for each restaurant as well. Most of the meals are already included in your voyage fare, but some “treat yourself” options do cost a bit extra.

Finally, I must mention that Virgin Voyages does not enforce a strict dress code. Basically, they expect you to show up dressed to your meals. You will see fellow sailors dressed in fancy evening wear, while others are rocking tank-tops and gym shorts. Dress however you like, and expect others to do the same!

  • Extra Virgin menus and guide
  • Pink Agave menus and guide
  • Test Kitchen menus and guide
  • Gunbae menu and guide
  • Razzle Dazzle menus and guide

Let’s start with the most popular restaurant onboard: The Wake. The Wake is an upscale meat-lovers dream with steak, seafood, and cocktails galore. The Wake is located at the back of the ship on deck 6. Everyone will try to book dinner at The Wake on the first night. The Wake will fill up quickly, so make your reservations early.

Must try: Razor Clam Chowder. The Razor Clam Chowder is a Journeys with D Must-Do, and is easily one of my favorite dishes on the entire ship.

The Wake menus

  • T he Wake Brunch menu & after 12pm menu insert
  • The Wake Dinner and Sip & Savor menu
  • The Wake Dessert menu

Extra Virgin

Extra Virgin is an authentic Italian restaurant located on the starboard side of deck 6. This isn’t Olive Garden; Extra Virgin is the real deal. Extra Virgin is especially challenging for me, because it may be my favorite Virgin Voyages restaurant menu. Basically, I want to try everything! Extra Virgin is a must-do if you’re a wine lover, with sommeliers ready to help you find the perfect food and wine pairing.

Must try: Potato Gnocchi. Potato gnocchi, hen of the woods mushrooms, spinach, and truffle butter sauce comprise this melt-in-your-mouth vegetarian dish. The portion is a bit small, however, so you may want to order something a little more substantial, or just save room for dessert.

Pink Agave is a Mexican restaurant, tequila, and mezcal bar located on the port side of Deck 5. If you’re into tequila and mezcal, you absolutely must prioritize Pink Agave. I don’t even care for tequila, but I found a couple I absolutely loved. Just don’t expect your favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant, as this place is much classier with better food. Just remember the portions are small, but you can order as much as you want! I recommend ordering something from the small, medium, and large plate menus. Don’t feel bad, you’re on vacation.

Must try: Relleno Vegano. Russet potato and roasted corn stuffed inside a poblano pepper. I may be a hard-core carnivore, but this is an irresistible vegan option.

Pink Agave menus

  • Pink Agave Tequila & Mezcal menu
  • Pink Agave Dinner and Sip & Savor menu

Test Kitchen

The Test Kitchen is a laboratory-like culinary experience with experimental dishes unlike any you’ve tried before. The Test Kitchen is unique, and sailors seem to either love it or hate it. We enjoyed ourselves, but we also had a good idea of what to expect going in. The plates are small but delicious, so you may want to have a backup plan like snacks at The Galley. Check out Kelly’s Test Kitchen Review for more details.

Must try: The food and beverage pairings are a lot of fun. Use your Sailor Loot and choose either a wine, cocktail, beer, or non-alcoholic pairing. The non-alcoholic pairing is a fun way to spend your Bar Tab if you don’t drink .

Asparagus sorbet with beverage pairing at Test Kitchen. The official Virgin Voyages menu only says "asparagus"

Test Kitchen menus

Do not treat these sample menus as gospel. The Test Kitchen is home to Virgin Voyages most fluid and unique menus. The Test Kitchen frequently changes its offerings, and even features multiple menus on each sailing. The menus only display the main ingredient and are designed to tease the meal ahead. Use these only as an example of what to expect, and be sure to tell your server of any food allergies in advance as details are light.

Gunbae is a Korean-style barbecue restaurant where they cook your meal right at your table! Located on the port side of Deck 15, Gunbae is a fun experience and an awesome opportunity to meet other sailors. You will be seated at a large table with fellow sailors. Of course, no dinner with strangers is complete without a drinking game, so be prepared to have a little fun with your new best friends.

Must try: K-pop disco water. Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it! Jinro grapefruit, watermelon juice, and pop rocks make up this beverage, which is unlike any other you’ll find onboard. If K-pop isn’t your jam, Gunbae offers plenty of fun and unique opportunities for you to spend your Bar Tab .

Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle offers a modern twist on plant-based dining located at the port side of Deck 5. Try vegan and vegetarian alternatives to classic dishes but, don’t worry carnivores, Razzle Dazzle offers plenty of meaty dishes as well. You won’t find a bad meal onboard, but Razzle Dazzle really shines for brunch.

Must try: Stop in for brunch and try the Classic Malted Waffle with mixed berries, maple syrup, and chantilly cream. For dinner, try the Nashville Hot Cauliflower from the Sip & Savor menu.

Final Thoughts: Virgin Voyages restaurant menus offer something for everyone

No matter where you eat, you will find something you love at the Virgin Voyages restaurants. If you’re a steak person, you’ll love The Wake. Authentic Italian dishes await you at Extra Virgin. You’ll find unique Mexican food at Pink Agave. Test Kitchen features a one-of-a-kind dining experience in a laboratory-like setting, while Gunbae offers Korean barbecue in a fun, group setting. Finally, Razzle Dazzle rocks a plant-heavy menu for all you vegans and vegetarians.

Virgin Voyages Restaurant and Bar Menus (with prices)

Last Updated on March 18, 2022

Virgin Voyages is the newest major cruise line to launch in North America. Originally scheduled to launch in 2020, they are finally getting ready to launch in the US in the coming weeks. They position themselves as a premium cruise experience and have tried to challenge the “norms” that are found on most other mainstream cruise lines.

Some of the biggest changes in regard to food beverage are:

  • No Additonal-Fee Specialty Restaurants – cruisers can go to any restaurant on board and not pay an extra dime for food. Each venue will have have some premium options on the menu you can pay for for (see menu’s below)
  • Non-alcoholic Beverages Included – unlike many other cruise lines, fresh juices, soda, and premium coffees are included in the cruise fare.
  • No drink packages – Virgin Voyages doesn’t currently have a drink package. They do have the option to pre-pay for drinks at a discount, but there is no unlimited drink option on Virgin Voyages sailings.

Your vacation awaits — don’t let these voyages sail away.

A Michelin-starred chef collective creates incredible onboard dining experiences

Here’s a taste of what to expect...

...from our foodie approved eateries.

20+ eateries on us

From steakhouses and Korean BBQ to elaborate brunches and an international food market, any and all eateries are on us — with a bar in every specialty spot.

No buffets or big dining halls

With unique spaces and diverse options, we’ve ditched the one-big-dining-hall experience and said goodbye to buffets.

Late-night bites

Whether you’re craving a late-night snack from our noodle bar or a slice of pizza at our 24/7 diner — your schedule doesn’t stop, so neither will ours.

Michelin-starred chefs

World-class chefs like Brad Farmerie (of PUBLIC in NYC) and Sohui Kim (of The Good Fork and Insa in NYC) are a few of the names behind our incredible menus.

A lil taste of what you can expect from our 20+ eateries — we wouldn't even judge you for taking a food 📸

The perfect mix of sophistication, nostalgia and cool — entering The Wake is an event in and of itself. And once you've made your way down the grand staircase, you'll enter a world that harks back to the old steakhouse, three-martini-lunch days of Madison Avenue ad men. But ya know, now with, thankfully, gender equality. And less cigar smoke.

Inspired by the capital city's red hot street food scene and with an interior designed by Tom Dixon, you'll be treated to an immersive odyssey of Mexican cuisine. Personal, intimate and educational, our master of ceremonies will guide you through a highly curated dining and drinking experience. Mezcal dinner pairings equipped with a history lesson? Yes, please.

Razzle Dazzle Restaurant

So your best friend wants something light and healthy, and you want.. unicorn toast? This is that place. Boasting a bold interior, this happening spot offers creative surprises on some classic, comfort go-to's. With a menu that's being coined “naughty or nice”, you can choose from one side that skews toward plant-based vegetarian dishes, or the indulgent side — meats, sweets, and gluttonous treats. So whether you're looking for something familiar or something spicy and out of left field, this place does all of that with a (unicorn) twist.

The Test Kitchen

Inspired by Escoffier’s Ma Cuisine, this laboratory-like eatery is part cooking school and part eatery. It's educational, experiential and social — and delicious in ways you've never seen (er, we mean tasted). With classes and evolving tasting menus, this is for the curious, boundary-pushing tastebuds on board.

If you're into hands-on meat-grilling and soju drinking, our Korean BBQ is the perfect spot to do all of that with maximum social engagement (in real life, of course, but feel free to 'gram it if you want). It's a catalyst for great conversation, and since we all have that one friend who insists on being the meat-master — go ahead and roast the master while they roast the meat 🔥

Lick Me Till...Ice Cream

This whimsical ice cream shop offers home (or ship) made, complimentary scoops. That includes six creative artisanal flavors guaranteed to satisfy every sweet tooth craving.

Featuring the same Mediterranean-inspired menu as our indoor counterpart, The Dock House, The Dock brings you the ultimate in lounging with the wind in your hair and the sun (optionally) on your face. Like an elegant cabana caught between the chill, seaside perfection of Ibiza and the rustic-chic resorts of Brazil, The Dock allows you to kick back and sip a from our expansive rosé menu and leisurely indulge in mezze bites until your next adventure calls.

The Dock House

An effortlessly elegant yet cozy counterpart to the view-focused scene outside, The Dock House  delivers bright flavors with acoustic live sounds. Choose from fresh fish for the table over an open flame, or bites like house-made pita and dips from the roving Mezze-cart. Detox with mocktails, retox with Mediterranean-inspired cocktails or peruse the selections from the specially curated rosé program. Part elegant Ibiza cabana, part rustic-chic resort — always full-on delicious specialty dining.

Extra Virgin

Deeply rooted in Italian culinary traditions, our trattoria serves regionally-inspired food punctuated by our fresh, handmade pasta. Start with a shared antipasti — and follow that with any of our pasta-centric favorites and worship the carb gods like a good vacation begs of you. Top it off with a traditional Italian aperitif to make your night complete... or help it get started.

The Pizza Place

No pre-cooked pizza slices sitting under warming lamps here. Feel free to choose from the classic menu or design your very own bespoke pizza. Featuring a brilliant beach club-inspired design with white and pastel colored furniture, navy striped accent pillows and hammocks for lounging, this casual spot is a perfect lunch time destination or late-night, post drink, hunger buster go-to.

The Social Club Diner

The food and drink make the experience here where we've spun modern takes on fairground classics. But we don't call it "social" for nothing — inside, you'll find Sailors playing air hockey, shuffle board and foosball. And located over at The Social Club Bar, we offer signature drinks and treats like our photogenic freak milkshake and floats stacked high with cookies, cake, frosting and candy — with an option to spike them with a lil booze for an adult-friendly upgrade.

Sun Club Cafe

Inspired by one of the most iconic dishes of the Hawaiian islands, we offer marinated tuna, chicken and salmon over greens or rice bowls. Fresh, tasty and healthy, they're high in lean protein and healthy fats while giving you a sunny dose of veggies or whole-grains.

Modeled after popular food halls where you can taste a variety of options — The Galley, designed by Softroom — is  your go-to for a quick bite, meal  or pick-me-up throughout the day. Featuring a mix of more than eight shops and food-truck style carts, each spot will have a unique concept with signature dishes that change to suit the time of day. The Galley (takes deep breathe before reading an impressively long list) boasts a dedicated bakery and pastry shop, a panini shop, a burger grill, a taco shack, a sushi bar with bento boxes, a noodle bar, a soup and salad stand, and a 24-hour American diner.  And exhale.

Noodle Around

Our noodle offerings evolve from miso soup specials in the morning to tonkatsu ramen in the afternoon and evening.

Head to The Galley and start your day with a Japanese breakfast, or end it with a bento box. Or actually, have a bento box for lunch, too (because you can do that, here).

The Sweet Side

The Sweet Side of The Galley houses pastries in the morning (for the sweet-toothed breakfast lovers among us) and desserts later on. It's a non stop sweet fest, so leave your rude friends by the pool.

Well Bread has fans, and we call them "Bread Heads". So make like a bread head and grab a pastry for breakfast or a flatbread in the afternoon or evening down at The Galley.

Diner & Dash

This is our 24-hours-a-day classic American diner grub located in The Galley. Craving an egg and bacon dish in the morning? BLT at lunch? Chicken and potatoes for dinner? You're in luck, because this is the classic diner fare of your middle-American dreams.

All day we burger. Breakfast burgers in the morning. Lunch burgers in the afternoon. Dinner burgers in the evening. And Impossible burgers for the plant-based eaters. Burgers. Burgers. Burgers. Straight up.

Hot off the Press

From serving breakfast-themed sandwiches and toasties in the morning to afternoon and evening-inspired sandwiches later on — something’s always being toasted in The Galley.

Let's Taco Bout It

Located in The Galley, this taco spot takes you straight to the food truck-lined streets of Austin featuring breakfast burritos in the morning, and vegetarian and meat-based tacos in the afternoon and evening.

The Daily Mix

This healthy joint in The Galley features yogurt and oatmeal dishes for breakfast and turns to soups and salads in the afternoon and evening. So if you're looking to mix it up in a healthy way, you know where to go.

The Galley is our floating fresh food market. Start by grabbing something quick and head back out to the pool or sit down and check out the stunning design and incredible views. With more than 10 different international eateries (all included), food is made fresh to order, so it’s always tasty. From light bites and bold burgers to noodles, tacos, and much much more – all our food is sustainably sourced and presented.

With something to sip on for every Sailor, you don’t really need a reason to say ‘cheers!’ Check out the places that’ll host all your toasts

Grounds Club

It’s early. You’re still a bit blurry and coffee is the only thing you can focus on right now. Luckily, The Grounds Club isn’t far, exclusively pouring one of the most satisfying and tasty brews you've ever had — from direct-trade pioneers, Intelligentsia Coffee. It’s just like your favorite coffee shop with the best almond milk, double shot, latte you can't start your morning without...  but with ocean views.

Draught Haus

A selective beer drinker's go-to, Draught Haus features a variety of beers on tap, a wide range of artisanal bottles, boiler makers and shot cocktails. This airy beach bar meets stylish craft beer house provides plenty of places to sit back and sip, or just grab a growler for those ‘bring your brew with you’ kind of days. Chill, casual but discerning beer connoisseur approved — you can always stop by for breakfast where we serve our “All Day Breakfast” shots.

Our curated champagne lounge, SIP, was designed to satisfy all your champagne and caviar needs. From an afternoon tea menu to an effervescent nightcap, this is the spot to come to whenever you’re craving a twist on a classic cocktail or a sparkly refresher in the form of a glass of bubbles.

On the Rocks

Our mixology bar on board focuses on aged spirits poured over ice  (hence the name), and is the perfect place to make bold choices… with a twist. Or really shake it up (wink), and challenge our mixologists to make you something extra special. Forget the menu and tell the bartender what flavors you like — then watch as a unique masterpiece is created before your very eyes. Kick-start the evening or round out the night with a cocktail that’s perfectly crafted for you.

The Loose Cannon

Inspired by seaside bars in Brighton, UK, an opening gun salute signals the singing of an old sea shanty which can be heard far and wide. This salty sea dog, nautically-themed bar boasts lively music and animated processions with equally spirited bar keeps — ready to ignite a hearty chant at a moment’s notice

The Dock Bar

Outside at The Dock Bar, we offer the same libation list as inside at The Dock House Bar, where the star of the show is our premium rosé program. But that's not all — we have a selection of sparkly cocktails and spritzers to cool you off if the incoming sea breeze isn't enough. So re-think your siesta and move the ZZZs from your cabin to our shady (or sun-facing) lounges.

The Dock House Bar

At The Dock House Bar, the star of the show is our premium rosé program, but we also have a selection of spritzers and cocktails with a Mediterranean flair. So forget your siesta and head here for a crisp and sparkly afternoon delight.

The Aquatic Club Bar

Vacation is somewhat incomplete without a frozen drink by the pool. Or a rum punch. Or a mojito. Or a mocktail with an umbrella in it. Whatever your libation style, we've got a full-bar right by the pool so that you never have to stray too far from the party.

Gym & Tonic

After working up a sweat at B-Complex, relax with a wellness beverage at Gym & Tonic. A juice bar with numerous wellness offerings — including a full-bar — Gym & Tonic has a myriad of drinks to help you wind down after giving your all… or some of your all. From made-to-order shakes and fresh or cold pressed juices to our Reset Cocktails that are healthy in spirit (while putting the spirit in healthy), there’s no wrong way to thank yourself for taking care of your mind, body and soul.

Sun Club Bar

Above the pool and on the sun deck (because any pool area worth its sea salt should have more than one bar), you can grab a frozen drink or cocktail and post up for optimal sun-soaking or people-watching during one of our iconic nighttime pool parties.

The Red Bar

Located inside Razzle Dazzle, The Red Bar is a full bar that has as much flair as its parent eatery. After snacking on the can't-miss milk and cookies (really, you can't miss), try the sparkling YAAASSS Queen cocktail (accented with drinkable glitters) or the Filthy Mary — our take on a bloody mary.

We take champagne seriously, from our new partnership with Moët & Chandon, curated champagne lounge, even our in-cabin, one-of-a-kind champagne tables. For us, when it comes to sipping the sparkly, we adhere only to one rule: champs is best served anywhere, anytime. Champagne on demand, no matter where you are on board anyone? We have that too. Cheers!

I ate my way through a luxury cruise ship. There are 5 dishes I'm still thinking about months later.

  • I spent seven days eating on a luxury Virgin Voyages cruise ship.
  • The cruise ship offered over 20 eateries with menus crafted by Michelin-starred chefs.
  • My favorite dishes came from Pink Agave, Extra Virgin, and The Pizza Place.

Insider Today

Last summer, I sailed the Mediterranean Sea for seven days on a luxury Virgin Voyages cruise ship . The food was the best I've ever had on a cruise.

Every Virgin Voyages ship has the same 20 restaurants and eateries on board with menus designed by Michelin-starred chefs, according to the cruise line's website .

While some menus had special dishes for an additional fee, most of the food on board — and everything I ate — was included in the $5,900 ticket price.

Here are the best dishes I ate during the journey, from tacos and pizza to fresh pasta and doughnuts.

Living in NYC, I didn't expect to be impressed by the pizza during my cruise. But I was mistaken.

virgin voyages restaurant menu

For lunch one day, I went to The Pizza Place, where you can build your own pie or select from their menu.

I went with the "Pretty Fly for a White Pie," which had mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, fresh garlic, and oregano.

It was just as good as the pizza back home, with a thin and crispy crust, gooey cheese, and fresh-tasting ingredients.

At Pink Agave, the pork tacos were so good I had them twice.

virgin voyages restaurant menu

According to the cruise line, Pink Agave's menu was inspired by Mexico.

For dinner one night, I ordered the Cochinita Pibil , a traditional Mayan dish that originated in the Yucatán Peninsula in 400 AD, as Business Insider previously reported.

The dish was smoked pork marinated in achiote and topped with a sour orange habanero pico de gallo. It came with a side of corn tortillas for a build-your-own taco experience.

I hadn't heard of Cochinita Pibil before my cruise, but now, it's one of my favorite Mexican dishes. The pork seemed to melt in my mouth, and the pico de gallo was a refreshing touch to the otherwise hearty entrée.

I was so wowed by the flavor that I returned to Pink Agave once more to have them again before the end of my trip.

At the same restaurant, I loved the chocolate, caramel tacos.

virgin voyages restaurant menu

Pink Agave was also home to my favorite dessert on the ship, Taco de Chocolate.

The shell was a Mexican chocolate cookie, and inside was dulce de leche cream. The caramel cut the bitterness of the chocolate, and the contrasting textures had me craving more.

So, when I returned to Pink Agave, I ordered them again.

At Extra Virgin, I had fresh pasta.

virgin voyages restaurant menu

Extra Virgin is an elegant, Italian-inspired Virgin Voyages restaurant.

I ordered pappardelle al ragù with pork and beef bolognese. I've had this popular dish at various restaurants, but this rendition stood out because it was made with fresh pasta .

The pappardelle was lighter and chewier than my previous experiences, which I preferred. And there was just the right amount of sauce not to overpower the flavor of the pasta itself. I didn't feel overstuffed after my meal, as I often do when eating pasta.

At the same restaurant, I had fancy doughnuts for dessert.

virgin voyages restaurant menu

For dessert, I ordered the ricotta bomboloni. It came with four sugar-topped doughnut holes made with ricotta and two dipping sauces — vanilla mascarpone and a black currant compote.

With a dollop of each sauce, the doughnuts tasted like fried cheesecake. It was the perfect combination of sweet, creamy, and tart. And the sugar crystals on top added an extra layer of texture.

Extra Virgin Menu – Virgin Voyages Restaurant

Extra Virgin is the Italian restaurant concept on Virgin Voyages ships. The casual, yet refined eatery serves a simple menu consisting of classic Italian dishes including a variety of freshly made pasta, calamari, and meatball starters. In addition to the expected items on the menu, there are some unique bites such as crispy artichokes and the chef’s selection of cheese and meats (Affettati Misti). Below you can see the full Extra Virgin Menu with drink pairings.

Here’s how Virgin Voyages describes Extra Virgin

Buon appetito! It’s time to eat (really) well at our mouthwatering Italian spot on board. Deeply rooted in Italian culinary traditions, our trattoria serves regionally inspired food punctuated by our fresh, handmade pasta. Start with a shared antipasti and follow that with any of our pasta-centric favorites and worship the carb gods like a good vacation begs of you. Top it off with a traditional Italian aperitif to make your night complete… or help it get started Virgin Voyages

The Experience

Overall the appetizers were tasty and creative. The board of meats and cheeses was actually the highlight of the meal. With a fantastic selection of small bites including Parmigiano, Romano, and Gorgonzola cheese, several types of meat, and sides of honey, nuts, and tapenade. Should you find yourself enjoying any item on the Affettati Misti board, you can always get more!

Unfortunately, our entire travel group felt the pasta was generally undercooked. We were hoping that this would be the star of the dining experience but we were universally disappointed.

On the following visit to Extra Virgin, we chose to skip the pasta and try a selection of main courses (Secondo on the menu) – and were quite pleased with the preparation of each dish and how well it was presented.

30 Essential Virgin Voyages Tips You Need to Know For A Successful Sailing

Pinterest Hidden Image

When you sail with Virgin Voyages, you enter a world where cruising rules are redefined. While you may recognize some elements from traditional cruises, these Virgin Voyages tips will guide you through booking, preparing, and, as well as what to expect when you step aboard one of their distinctive ‘Lady Ships”.

We are seasoned cruisers, but sailing with Virgin Voyages felt almost like being first-time cruisers again. It was an experience, from booking the cruise to finding our way around the ship. We were proactive and booked our dining reservations 45 days in advance, which was important to us to be able to enjoy the fantastic dining experiences onboard. Also, connecting to the ship’s Wi-Fi as soon as we got to the terminal allowed us to quickly book our preferred ‘Shore Things’ with the sailor loot we had.

We’re not just sharing tips for a Virgin Voyages cruise; we’re giving you the essential Virgin Voyages tips you need to plan a successful cruise.

Table of Contents

Understand the Value of All-Inclusive Rates on Virgin Voyages

Don’t be discouraged by the initial rates; remember, it’s all included on a Virgin Voyages cruise. Most importantly, it will be an ADULT ONLY cruise. When booking my first cruise, I initially found the pricing confusing. Unlike other cruise lines, Virgin’s website shows rates based on double occupancy by default, but you can easily adjust this to ‘per person’ in the filter settings. More importantly, Virgin’s rates inclu de all dining, basic Wi-Fi, gratuities, and even fountain drinks, which are often extra costs on other cruises. When you consider these inclusions, the value of a Virgin Voyages cruise becomes clear.

Not included: alcoholic drinks, spa services, excursions, and some other premium upgrades.

Sofabeds in Standard Cabins

Virgin Voyages cruise ship cabin featuring a sofabed with white bedding, red and striped accent pillows, a side table, a desk area, and a closed curtain with a hint of the ocean view beyond.

Something that Virgin Voyages does differently—and which has sparked controversy—is using sofabeds instead of traditional beds in standard cabins. The only real beds are found in the Rockstar Suites. Although I initially hesitated, fearing that the sofabeds would be the least comfortable option at sea, the sofabed in our XL Sea Terrace cabin was surprisingly one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in.

However, sharing the cabin with two or more people can make the sofabed situation awkward. The bed is configured into an L-shape, which means you’ll have to sleep head-to-head, head-to-feet, or feet-to-feet with your cabin mate. A third cabin mate would fit in a bunk. It might surprise you, too, so it’s something to consider when planning who you’re cruising with.

Tip:  Before booking, consider pricing out two cabins instead of one. The cost difference is minimal and could make a huge difference in comfort and privacy, especially if you’re considering cramming into one cabin with multiple people.

Book with a First Mate For Extra Perks

First Mates are certified travel/cruise agents with Virgin Voyages. You can book a cruise online, but booking with a First Mate has benefits, including additional perks like Sailor Loot or cabin choices. Their rates will never be more than what you see on Virgin. Someone also acts as a liaison between the cruise line and you, so if you need to make changes, they contact Virgin for you.

Download the Virgin App

A hand holding a smartphone with the Virgin Voyages app open, displaying options like 'Event Line-up', 'Ship spaces', 'Shore Things', 'Guides', and 'Add-ons', with a laptop and a cup of coffee in the background.

Everything on Virgin Voyages operates through their app. Once you create an account with VV and book a cruise, it’s important to download the app. You’ll need it for various essential tasks: check-in, making reservations for dining, experiences, fitness classes, and even controlling the cabin lights. You’ll also receive all your notifications regarding the cruise on that app. So, don’t wait last minute to download it.

Be aware, though, that the app can sometimes be frustrating and sometimes requires patience. It works best on the ship. Despite any hiccups, it will be your primary tool for virtually everything on the ship.

VV Assigns Your Cabin After Booking

virgin voyages restaurant menu

When you book a cruise with Virgin Voyages, they’ll assign your cabin number afterward. You can find out your assigned cabin by checking the app or your online account. If the assigned cabin doesn’t meet your preferences, don’t worry—you can call Virgin’s customer service to request a change. If you booked through a travel agent (referred to as a First Mate by Virgin), they can handle the cabin selection or make the call for you.

Here’s a personal tip from our experience: When we first booked with Virgin, we were assigned an XL Sea Terrace cabin. After looking it up online, we realized it didn’t have a hammock, which we really wanted. We called customer service, and they happily changed our cabin for us. So, don’t hesitate to reach out if you need something different. If you booked with a First Mate, you’d reach out to them first.

Status Match for Extra Perks

If you carry loyalty status with another cruise line, take advantage of  Virgin Voyages’ status match program  to earn ‘Blue Extra’ perks and join their exclusive Sailor’s Club—even on your first or second cruise. This offer is only available until December 31, 2024.

Last year, we utilized our  MSC loyalty status  to obtain ‘Deep Blue Extras’ on our first Virgin cruise. Initially, we had to status match our Hilton Gold status with MSC. Once that was established, we submitted our MSC status to Virgin, and the process was surprisingly smooth.

Elevate Your Cruise Experience with the Splash of Romance Package

If you want a smoother start to your cruise, think about adding the Splash of Romance (SOR) package to your booking. With this package, you’ll board the ship right after Deep Blue Extras and Rockstars, which means you get extra time to enjoy the ship. This is a big plus if your check-in time is later, like 3:45 PM.

But the Splash of Romance package includes more than early boarding. You also get a 3-hour thermal spa pass and a bottle of champagne.

Please note:  The Splash of Romance package is an additional cost and limited availability, so be sure to add it to your reservation early.

Curious About RockStar But Think It’s Too Pricey? Try Bidding on an Upgrade

Cruising as a Rockstar or Mega-rockstar has its perks, but let’s be honest, it can be pretty pricey. If you’re feeling lucky, you can try to score an upgrade by submitting a bid for one of these swanky suites. It’s called a Level Upgrade, and while it’s not guaranteed you’ll win if you do, you’ll get to enjoy all those Rockstar benefits without the full price tag. It’s a great way to possibly elevate your experience without breaking the bank .

Check-in and Pick a Boarding Time as Soon as Possible

virgin voyages restaurant menu

The Virgin Voyages app lets you check in almost immediately after booking to secure the earliest boarding time at the port. Check-in for other cruise lines typically opens much closer to the departure date. We could check in months in advance, which streamlined our boarding process and got us started on our vacation without any delays. The earlier you get on the ship, the more time you have to start your cruise and get reservations for things.

Book Your Restaurant Reservations 45 Days Before Embarkation Day

For Virgin Voyages, the window to book your restaurant reservations opens 45 days before your embarkation day, right at midnight EST. If you’re a Rockstar, you get a little extra leeway with reservations opening 60 days prior. These slots fill up fast, so I recommend setting a reminder on your calendar to make reservations at 12:01 AM EST on the dot. This ensures you get the preferred dining times without the stress of finding out they’re already booked.

However, if everything is booked by the time you try, don’t worry. Once you get onboard, you’ll have another opportunity to make reservations. Just do this as soon as you embark, ideally on the first day. Afterward, walk-in options may become scarce, and you might have to settle for less convenient times. The effort to book early is well worth it—the food at the sit-down restaurants is outstanding and a highlight of Virgin’s cruise experience.

  • You can only reserve a restaurant once during a sailing of 6 nights or less.
  • Keep in mind that sit-down dinners do last about 2 hours.

VV Does Brunch

A brunch spread on a table featuring a dish featuring a baked frittata topped with greens and mushrooms, a side plate of crispy bacon, and a red bowl of fresh fruit including melon slices, berries, and pineapple.

Don’t miss out on a fantastic brunch experience aboard Virgin Voyages. The Wake and Razzle Dazzle both offer brunch throughout the week. We recommend booking a brunch on sea days when you can relax and enjoy your meal without a rush, or consider making it your grand finale with a final brunch on disembarkation day .

What to Pack for Virgin Voyages

While our general cruise packing list is always a good starting point, there are a few Virgin-specific items you’ll definitely want to bring along:

  • Refillable Water Bottle:  Virgin Voyages does not provide disposable water bottles on board. They highly recommend bringing a refillable water bottle as plenty of water stations are around the ship, and you can always ask for water at the bars.
  • USB-C Wall Plug-in:  The cabins are well-equipped with electrical and USB-A ports but lack USB-C ports. A charging port will be necessary if your devices require this type of connection.
  • Hanging Toiletry Bag: Another item we highly recommend, especially if you’re staying in a Sea Terrace, is a hanging toiletry bag. The bathrooms can be a bit cramped, with limited storage and shelving, so having a hanging toiletry bag will keep your essentials organized and easily accessible.
  • Pajamas for the Pajama Party: Pack a pair of pajamas or comfy loungewear that you love for the Pajama Party on the first night.
  • 80’s VHS Fitness Class Outfit:  For a blast from the past, pack an 80’s themed workout outfit for the 80’s VHS fitness class. It’s a fun way to sweat it out with some nostalgic flair.
  • A Red Outfit for Scarlet Night:  Scarlet Night is a signature event on Virgin Voyages, so bring a red outfit or at least a flash of red to join in the fun.
  • Gold Outfit for “We Fancy” Night:  Not all itineraries include a “We Fancy” night, but if yours does, a gold outfit or a fun gold accessory will have you fitting right in.

No Need to Print Luggage Tags

One cool thing about Virgin Voyages is that you don’t have to fuss with printing out luggage tags before you sail. Just show up at the cruise port, pull up your cabin number on the Virgin Voyages app, and hand it over to a porter. They’ll sort out your luggage tags right there. It’s easy and one less thing to worry about before departing.

Just a heads-up:  The porters aren’t Virgin employees, so they will probably expect a tip for their help. A small tip can go a long way toward ensuring your luggage is well cared for.

Boarding Process: What to Expect

virgin voyages restaurant menu

Boarding with Virgin Voyages doesn’t start until around 2 PM, and they are strict about adhering to scheduled times. Priority boarding is given in stages: Rockstars are first, followed by passengers with Deep Blue Extras (DBE), and then those with a Splash of Romance (SOR) before general boarding begins. If your check-in time is later, say 3 PM, and you arrive early at noon, expect to be asked to return closer to your designated time or stand in line at the designated boarding time and wait.

We recommend arriving about 30 minutes before your scheduled check-in time. If you’re a Rockstar, DBE, or SOR, you might find that the time listed on the app isn’t accurate—you can and should arrive earlier, around 1 PM since you have priority boarding privileges.

Once they let you in, you’ll go through security and check in with a rep who will hand you a band for onboard charges. Then, you’ll be on your way to the terminal to await boarding. Boarding is called by groups, starting with Rockstars.

Goodbye Cruise Cards, Hello Bands

Two wrists close together, each wearing a red Virgin Voyages Band, against a tiled floor background. The bands replace traditional cruise cards for onboard transactions and cabin access.

Virgin Voyages has ditched the old-school cruise cards and switched to super convenient bands. These wristbands act as your keycard for everything onboard, making it easy to keep everything you need literally on hand. We loved the convenience of not having to dig around for a card.

You can recycle the bands at the end of your cruise, but I hung onto mine as a keepsake from my first Virgin cruise. It’s a neat little reminder of a great cruise.

Book Shore Things 120 Days in Advance

Inside the Scarlet Lady ship by Virgin Voyages, a vibrant red desk labeled "SHORE THINGS" for excursion planning and booking, with large windows overlooking the ocean in the background.

Got your heart set on a specific shore excursion? The most popular ones can fill up quickly. You can start booking Shore Things 120 days in advance if you’re a Rockstar 145 days.

If you want to use Sailor Loot, you have to wait until you’re connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi. When we entered the cruise terminal, we connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi because we were eager to book the “Swimming with Sharks in Bimini” excursion. The morning tour was already booked, but we got the afternoon tour.

Have trouble with the app? Head to the Shore Things desk as soon as you board deck 7.

Book Popular Activities and Entertainment Upon Boarding

As soon as you step on board, one of the first things you should do is book all the popular activities and entertainment you’re interested in, whether included in your cruise fare or require an additional fee. This is a key reason to get on the ship as early as possible. Many of Virgin Voyages’ venues are relatively small, meaning they fill up quickly. Securing your spot immediately ensures you won’t miss out on any fun or experiences you’re looking forward to during your cruise.

No Drink Packages, But There Are Bar Tabs

a popcorn machine filled with bags of popcorn ready to grab and go.

Don’t look for a drink package on Virgin Voyages; they don’t offer them. Instead, alcoholic beverages are sold a la carte, meaning you pay for each drink as you go. But here’s a cool tip: you can set up a Bar Tab before you board. If you load $300 onto your Bar Tab, Virgin throws in an extra $50. It’s non-refundable, so you lose it if you don’t finish it on the ship. If you don’t opt for a Bar Tab, any drinks you buy will be charged to your cruise account or deducted from your Sailor Loot.

Come as You Are Dress Code on Virgin

Virgin Voyages takes the whole “Freestyle Cruising” thing to a new level. There aren’t any strict dress codes, and they ask that you skip the swimsuit at dinner. They’ve got some fun theme nights, like Scarlet Lady, but joining in is totally up to you. You can dress how you like and focus on having a good time. It’s all about being yourself and enjoying the ride, so packing should be a breeze.

While the ship had a relaxed vibe, I thought everyone was pretty well dressed at night at dinner.

Fitness Classes Are Included

Unlike most cruise lines that charge extra for fitness classes, Virgin Voyages includes them in your cruise fare. If staying active is part of your cruise goals, you’re in the right place. You can join as many classes as you like without worrying about additional fees. Just remember to book them as soon as you board because they can fill up quickly. Walk-ins might be an option since sometimes people don’t show up at the last minute, but it’s not guaranteed.

Important Note: If you book a class and fail to show up without canceling, Virgin Voyages will charge a $10 no-show fee to your account, which they donate to charity.

Also, it’s worth noting that you won’t find typical frozen drinks like mudslides on the ship. Virgin Voyages offers a variety of crafted cocktails, which are a step up from the usual cruise drink fare. This is perfect for those looking to try something a bit more sophisticated and unique.

You May Want to Upgrade to Premium Wi-Fi

If you need a reliable and fast internet connection, consider upgrading to Premium Wi-Fi onboard. The basic Wi-Fi was a bit sluggish for us, so we switched to the premium option, and it made a world of difference. It’s worth it, especially if you need to stay connected for work, streaming, or just sharing your cruise moments on the go. When we sailed, the upgrade cost was $99 for the five-night cruise.

Be Food Adventurous

An assortment of small Korean BBQ bites, including kimchi and seasoned vegetables, arranged around a circular cooking station on Virgin Voyages

The food on Virgin Voyages is some of the best we’ve had at sea—perfect for foodies and anyone who loves good eats. Their food is generally creatively fun, high quality, and gourmet. Sure, they’ve covered the basics with pizza, hot dogs, and sandwiches for those who like to stick to what they know. But if you stick only to those, you’re missing out. On our cruise, we saw too many people looking skeptically at other folks’ plates or sitting in The Wake for brunch, wishing for something a basic Grand Slam Breakfast (they can go to Diner-and-Dash at the Galley for that). Remember, you’re not at Denny’s. Virgin Voyages offers unique, delicious options that are well worth trying. So try something different—you might fall in love with it!

Avoid Lines at The Galley, Raise the Flag

A hand is turning up the red “AHOY” service flag at The Galley on Virgin Voyages, indicating the call for a server, with the dining area visible in the background.

The Galley on Virgin Voyages isn’t your typical cruise buffet—it’s a food court where you can skip the lines. One of the coolest features is the ability to raise a flag at your table when you’re ready to order. You don’t have to queue up unless you grab something quick, like a dessert or a bento box. Standing in line to order isn’t unnecessary and adds to the crowd. Try to avoid it.

Every time we raised the flag at our table in The Galley, servers quickly took our orders, and our food arrived shortly after. It’s a great way to enjoy your meal without the hassle.

Foodie Tid Bits You Should Know: Diner & Dash in the Galley is your all-American diner, open 24/7 on the ship. And to-go, boxes of snacks are always available at the entrance of The Galley and at The Dockhouse exit.

Navigating the Lady Ships

All Lady Ships by Virgin Voyages share a similar design, but getting around isn’t always intuitive. Reviewing the ship’s deck plans before you set sail to save time otherwise spent wandering is wise. Here’s a quick guide to help you navigate the key areas:

  • Sailor Services: Located on Deck 5 Mid-Ship for all your assistance needs.
  • Shore Things & My Next Virgin Voyage: Find these on Deck 7 to plan excursions and future trips.
  • Main Connector to Lower Decks: To move between decks 6, 5, or 4, head to Deck 7. From here, it’s the most direct route to those lower decks.
  • Social Hubs: Deck 7 has bars and eateries, such as the Pizza Palace, Ice Cream, and Grounds Club.
  • The Galley: Visit Deck 15 Aft.
  • The Manor Entrance: Surprisingly located within the Casino on Deck 6.

Make it a Movie Night in Your Cabin

a popcorn machine filled with bags of popcorn ready to grab and go.

Who doesn’t love a good movie night? On Virgin Voyages, movies are free and included with your cruise fare, and there’s a huge selection to choose from—everything from classic films to the latest blockbusters. For the full experience, swing by the Social Club to grab some freshly popped popcorn, or hit The Pizza Palace for a slice or two (or maybe even both). Then head back to your cabin for a cozy night in.

Join in on Theme Nights and Events—You Might Be Surprised

scarlet night pool party on scarlet lady

If you’re on the fence about joining in on Virgin Voyages’ theme nights and events, give it a shot—you might be pleasantly surprised! As someone who usually keeps to myself, I decided to dive into the fun during Scarlet Night by dressing up in red and heading to the pool party. It turned out to be a blast! Participating can enhance your cruise experience, giving you memorable moments and maybe even helping you make new friends.

Don’t Debark Without Purchasing My Next Virgin Voyage

The My Next Virgin Voyage (MYNV) program is a step up from typical cruise vouchers. It acts as a placeholder for your next cruise, locking in whatever promotional offer they have onboard that week. Here’s how it worked for us: On our last Virgin cruise, we put down $300 towards MYNV, which guaranteed us $600 in sailor loot for our next cruise if we booked within the next two months. Plus, the $300 went towards our deposit. Remember, if you book after those two months, the sailor loot drops to $300.

You can purchase this directly from the My Next Virgin Voyages desk on Deck 7 or through the Virgin App. You’ll need to provide a credit card when buying it, but it won’t be charged to your onboard account. We chose to buy ours at the desk because they provided immediate answers to all our questions and even gave us a PDF of all upcoming cruise itineraries to help us plan our next adventure. However, purchasing through the app is convenient if you know what you want.

You Can Debark the Ship as Late as 10:30 AM

No early morning rush to leave the ship here. Virgin Voyages lets you debark as late as 10:30 AM. That means you can enjoy a leisurely brunch before you say goodbye to the ship—just remember to book it early in the week to get a spot.

Debarkation on Virgin isn’t much different from other cruise lines, apart from the more relaxed check-out time. You can carry your own luggage off early with the self-assist group or pick a debarkation time slot under ‘Shore Things’ in the app a couple of days before the end of the cruise. If you’re not carrying it off yourself, just make sure your luggage is outside your cabin by 10:30 PM the night before.

We went for a later debarkation and kept our luggage with us, which meant we could sleep in a bit on that last day.

Virgin’s Website is a Wealth of Knowledge

I’ve found that Virgin Voyages’ website is way ahead of the curve compared to other cruise lines. It’s packed with answers to almost all your FAQs, plus loads of tips and insights about cruising with them. They even have some cool videos that give you cabin hacks and other handy cruising tips. It’s totally worth taking a bit of time to dive into their site. Also, don’t forget to follow them on social media for the latest updates and some extra tidbits.

Bring the bikini, leave the kids: 4 things to know about sailing with Virgin Voyages

A s soon as you check in on a Virgin Voyages cruise, you’re given an electronic bracelet. And once you step on board, you’re greeted by big smiles, neon lights and Top 40 pop music.

It feels like an upscale PlayPlace for adults. In the best way possible.

The line went all-in on the fun aspect, going as far as reimagining the cruise director role. On Virgin, an entire team is dedicated to making the passenger – or sailor, as the line calls them – experience the best it can possibly be for their unique needs.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

"The Happenings cast is our reimagination of the cruise director you will find on other cruise lines,” said Richard Kilman, Virgin Voyages VP of entertainment. “Everyone is cast individually based on different, authentic passion points (i.e. wellness, food/drink, performing, art, games/competitions, etc.) and their ability to help us create the unique vibe you can only experience on board Virgin Voyages. They all lead a vast array of events (many aligned with their personal passion points) that take place throughout every voyage."

With a plethora of Instagram-ready spots, photo booth setups, sparkling wine happy hours, more than 20 eateries, gratuities, Wi-Fi, essential drinks and unlimited group fitness classes all included, Virgin is aiming for the modern traveler looking for easy, personalized experiences.

USA TODAY recently participated in a Virgin Voyages press trip aboard its Resilient Lady vessel on its Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems itinerary. Here are four things that make a Virgin Voyages cruise different.

It’s an over-18 cruise

The adults-only cruise sounds more salacious than it is. Mainly, you’re reminded it’s an 18-plus sailing during the entertainment portions. It caters to an adult audience while keeping it tongue-in-cheek and tasteful – for the most part.

Shows like "Persephone" and "Another Rose" definitely lean into sensuality, while "Miss Behave" and "Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle" lean into absurdist humor. These are not the typical cruise shows. Many of the sailors on the line’s Resilient Lady ship commented on the Broadway quality of the performances.

Scarlet Night, Virgin’s response to a formal night, might just be the epitome of what the line aims to do. Described as “an immersive celebration” where sailors are encouraged to dress in red, it’s a night when the entire ship is buzzing with excitement.

“Through pop-up circus performances, interactive games, karaoke, myth-telling, and live music, come pay tribute to a love that washed the world scarlet − culminating in a drenched-in-red pool and dance party unlike anything you've ever seen,” the line says on its website.

There’s no buffet

Just because there’s no buffet doesn’t mean you’ll go hungry. With more than 20 eateries on board, the most difficult part of meal times will be deciding whether you want to try something new or stick with that yummy dish you found the first night.

Don’t worry, at The Galley − Virgin’s alternative to a buffet − sailors can find several “shops” akin to a food court where they can order at leisure or wait for a server to come to their table. But do keep in mind that not all those spots are open 24/7, nor do they offer a full menu throughout the day.

For the main event, or dinner, it’s also sailor’s choice. Rather than an assigned dining time, sailors can book reservations at any of the five restaurants on board just as they would on land.

Here’s a snapshot of the restaurants:

  • The Wake: Steakhouse presented as “a modern twist to the classic chophouses of the mid-20th century.”
  • Razzle Dazzle: Comfort food with a twist. Also, boozy brunch. No need to say more.
  • Pink Agave: Elevated Mexican cuisine with “the largest selection of tequila and mezcal at sea,” and a DJ.
  • Extra Virgin: Italian restaurant with “regionally inspired food punctuated by our handmade pasta.”
  • Gunbae: Korean BBQ cooked at your table. Prime spot for solo cruisers to meet others at the communal tables or for large groups to get the night started.
  • Test Kitchen: A pre-fixed tasting menu (with accommodations for allergies and preferences) that only presents you with a list of ingredients. You can do a wine or cocktail pairing with each course. (Do this one on the first night.)

The vast majority of items on the menus are included, but each of the restaurants offers one or two indulgent options at an extra cost.

There’s no drink package

Just because it’s an adults-only cruise doesn’t mean the drinks are unlimited – unless you want them to be.

Alcoholic drinks and specialty coffees cost extra on board. Soft drinks, juices and drip coffee are included in the voyage fare. Virgin Voyages has a pre-boarding Bar Tab offer where sailors can deposit $300 into their “Wallet” to get an additional $50. Much like other lines, the offer is available only before boarding, but sailors can add money to the Bar Tab as they see fit.

Don’t be alarmed. Drinks are moderately priced, from $6 to $15, with higher-end beverages around $29. On a seven-day cruise, $300 could equal about five drinks a day.

All restaurants on the ship have unique drink menus, so make sure to leave room for those. You can view your Wallet balance on the Virgin Voyages app and add more to it during the trip – more on that below.

Free, stable Wi-Fi

Everything from dinner and performance reservations to shore excursions, to keeping track of your tab and purchases is on the app.

With that, however, comes one of the best perks for those of us who need to be connected with the outside world at all times: free Wi-Fi. Good, stable Wi-Fi. A faster, premium Wi-Fi package is available for those who need to work and hold video calls, but if you just need to check email and social media, the basic free plan works great.

The app can be a little frustrating when it freezes, but no one in our group found it limiting. Simply closing the app and reopening seemed to solve the problem.

Overall, sailing aboard the Resilient Lady felt like one of those experiences you can’t really describe. How do you write down “it had good, fun vibes”? Maybe just like that. But, different from other lines, Virgin’s vibe was engaging, and knowing that passengers were all there without kids, all looking to have a good time, changed the atmosphere.
