Meeting Father Christmas can be a magical experience for children

Join the Secret Elves to get first access to our exclusive reviews of the must-have products this year.

We have more newsletters

It's the time of year where adults in the family can pull out the old "if you don't behave, I'll tell Santa you've been naughty and he'll take you off his good list and you won't get any presents" threat.

Also, the first line Father Christmas is likely to utter when your little cherub visits him in his grotto is "have you been good this year?" before proceeding to inquire what they would like for Christmas . Most parents can probably relate to both statements and since we are in the countdown to Christmas, it is time to plan a trip to Santa's Grotto.

Grottos will be dotted around Lancashire in garden centres, shopping malls and other venues, ready to greet youngsters excited to tell the big man in a red suit and white beard what they would like come December 25.
