Safari Tanzania

Fantastic experience, All in all, no major challenges either before or during the journey. Our guide on the safari, Issa from Zara, was top notch and the experience would not have been the same without him. We were picked up and delivered punctually at agreed times, and he had great knowledge of animals, plants and what else we had questions about. We got to see all the animals we had hoped for and then some. Miriam and Oskar

We trekked to the top of Kilimanjaro…

We trekked to the top of Kilimanjaro with guide Silvano and his crew from Zara Tours. It was a wonderful experience. The team was extremely professional and service minded, and made the hike a highlight of our lives.

Guide was a 5

Guide was a 5. Accommodations would have been a 5 if the last night had running water. Food was what I would imagine in a camping safari so met my expectation and no issues, 5. I saw all animals except rhino but that’s not guided fault. A recommendation for future tours would be to provide your guides with satellite phones so tourists could leverage a reliable hotspot. Also suggest taking tourists to the best merchandise stores to find the best pricing. Yes you can haggle in any store but many tourists aren’t into that scene.

Review Moshi, safari and Zanzibar

In Moshi: Enthousiastic and helpfull personeel. Rooms clean and ok. Very Nice garden. Tips: better coverage WiFi. Better hours Swimmingpool. Safari: very good and friendley driver. Lodges fantastic. Zanzibar: fine but slightly aged hotel. Beach to crowdy. The Swimmingpool had no shade or sunprotection. We chose a trip with a Dow but had tot remember the Guide tot get it.

Zara Tours - Highly Recommend

Zara Tours did an excellent job. They worked with us to adjust our trip parameters due to unforeseen delays (our bikes arrived a day late) and were helpful from start to finish. The food was great, the guides were excellent at explaining everything from the daily schedule to the history of the mountain. We were safe and well taken care of along the way.

Thank you so much for the review and I hope you come back again with Zara Tours.

Incredible experience

I highly recommend Zara tours. I climbed Kilimanjaro and felt so supported the entire time by the amazing guides and porters. They couldn't do enough to ensure that my team and I had the best and safest experience possible. I'd especially like to thank Kilian, Tomtom, Victor and Shiba for keeping our energy and moral high from beginning to end. Thank you!!

Perfect Safari

This was our second safari and beach holiday with Zara Tours. Everything was well organized which made our trip very enjoyable. If we come again it will definitely be with Zara. Thanks to all the staff who were always friendly and professional, particularly to Miriam and the chef at High View Hotel.

A holiday of a lifetime

My guide/driver Ibrahim made my holiday an experience I will always remember. Always cheerful, helpful and knowledgeable. He went the extra mile. Also Jackson who took me on my one day hike up Kilimanjaro. Highview Coffee Lodge was lovely and Serengeti Safari Lodge was outstanding. Springlands was a great place to start and end. All the staff in all these were always cheerful and helpful. Food overall was very good. I would definitely use Zara again.

8-Day Northern Tanzania Safari

We took a customized 8-day Northern Tanzania Safari. On the first day of safari we saw more animals than we were expecting to see on the entire trip! We highlighted 27 animals in our Princeton Pocket Guide and that did NOT include the birds. We visited 4 national parks and a Maasai Village. We endured many hours each day of "African Massages" in the Landcruisers. (Thank goodness for thick seat cushions). The breakfasts and dinners were delicious. It was fun to toss gifts to the children we drove past. Our guides were fantastic, the lodging was comfortable, and the memories priceless.

Wow wow wow

Wow wow wow. We spent 4 days on safari in Tanzania with Zara Tours and we are absolutely blown away by the service. Our driver Peter was incredible - he had unlimited knowledge about the parks and the animals and was so friendly. Peter made sure we seen the Big 5 which was an experience we will never forget. Ask for Peter and you won't be disappointed. Highview Hotel, Serengeti Wild Camp and Ngorongoro Camp were all fantastic! The rooms, food and staff were all amazing and we would not hesitate to stay here again when we return. Thank you for the most amazing memories Zara Tours + Peter!

Awesome Trip!!

We did the 8 day Lemosho Route up Kilimanjaro. Prior to being in Tanzania, we had great communication from the Zara office. They were able to answer all the questions I had (which was many). It was great having the transport from the airport to our hotel and not having to organise that. We then had a pre meeting with our head guide, Joseph, the day before departure and he checked our gear - which was re assuring. The hike was then actually quite relaxing as our crew organised EVERYTHING. We ate such amazing food from Michael, and our waiter Freddy was always so attentive. Each evening, Joseph discussed the agenda for the next day and was very experienced. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!!

Professional and Personal. Great Trip.

Zara tours and our team lead by main guide Babu did an excellent job leading us tonthe summit of Kilimanjaro. Everything was cerh professional but also personal. They even went the extra mile and helped mybson through some minor altitude sickness but got us to the top. Would highly recommend this company.

Mountain and Safari

Thank you. The experience we had in Tanzania was truly unforgettable and we highly recommend Zara tours for arranging things just as they should be. We were really impressed at the way Zara Charity look after those who need help. The mountain guides are excellent. The safari route and wild camp facilities were perfect. We climbed Kili in 8 days by Lemosho route and took a 5 day Serengeti safari. Wonderful.

Excellent Kilimanjaro climb and safari…

Excellent Kilimanjaro climb and safari to Serengeti and Ngorogoro. The equipment and camps are a bit worn down and could be better maintained. However the service and support from Zara Tours is great. The safari guide Joseph Felix Tillya worked hard to share the most wonderful places of the National Parks and not least to find the wild animals. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

Happy Adventurers!☺️

We are very happy with the Kilimanjaro trekking guides and porters. They have supported us all the way to the top. Definitely would not be able to do it without their support. Special mention to Felix, Richard, Hopson, Bobo and Isa. Asante sana!🥰 Our Safari trip was quite fun too! Joseph was very hospitable and accommodating on all our needs. There was last minute changes on our plan but despite of that, he was able to pull it off with a smile.☺️ If there are any improvement that I can suggest, it will be adding AC on the land cruiser and also providing choices on lunch boxes. We got tired of the lunch box food in just 4 days!😅 Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Zara Tours. I would have given 4.5 rating but it wasn't an option.

We had the most amazing visit in…

We had the most amazing visit in beautiful Tanzania thanks to Zara Tours. Everything was very well organized, accommodation and food was great. Best of all, however, was our guide Issa, who not only showed us the amazing parks, scenic nature and all the animals but who also taught us so much about Tanzania, its history and culture. Issa also adapted the tours so that our kids could enjoy it to the fullest. Best holiday ever and we look forward to come back again!

Dear Guest, We are pleased to know that you had a great experience during your time in Tanzania with us. Thank you for choosing Zara Tours and for reviewing and recommending our services. Welcome again to Tanzania.

Our overall experience with Zara tours…

Our overall experience with Zara tours was good. I don’t give the the 5 stars because our tent was not in the best conditions. One rainy night, we had several leaks. Also we had little friction with the guide assistant after we refused to go down the mountain on an unsafe trail. After that incident, he started leaving us behind. The cook was excellent and the waiter very friendly. The food was great. The hike was awesome with beautiful sights, and the guides were very knowledgeable.

Tanzania Wildcamps - Closer to Nature

When you go on a safari in Africa, you want first-hand experiences of the wildlife, the landscapes, the natural wonders, and the exciting atmospheres of the black continent. You want to be in the middle of it. Tanzania Wildcamps give you exactly this opportunity. Our safe and comfortable tented camps are located in the very heart of Tanzania´s most famous National Parks and game reserves. The tents are spacious (size approx. 4 m x 8 m; height 3.5 m), all equipped with a private shower and toilet, two king-size beds, a verandah, table and chairs. Living in a tent is spectacular: hear the elephants trumpeting far away at night, observe zebras peacefully grazing in front of your tent´s gauze window, and feel how the colours, the sounds, the smells around you change when the day turns to night and the night turns to day. With Tanzania Wildcamps you are closer to nature!

 About Tanzania Wild Camps

Tanzania Wildcamps are owned and operated by ZARA Tours, Moshi, a Travel Agency and Tour Operator fully licensed and registered under the law of the Republic of Tanzania. The charismatic founder and director of ZARA Tours is Mrs. Zainab Ansell, a local from Moshi/Tanzania. After studying tourism and working for Air Tanzania, she started ZARA Tours in 1987, organizing National wildparks safaris and climbs to Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Zainab Ansell with a happy guest at the Springlands Hotel

Today ZARA Tours has the reputation to be one of the best-valued and most reliable operators in the region. ZARA's more than 88 registered Kilimanjaro and safari Guides and a fleet of 4x4 Land rovers, 4x4 mini buses and 4x4 Land cruisers can bring you anywhere in Tanzania, from the plains of the Serengeti to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The year 2000 was the start for ZARA's involvement in the hospitality industry. With her husband Roger, Zainab Ansell opened the Springlands Hotel in Moshi, named after the nearby crystal clear springs. The hotel is serving as the ideal base for trekking Mount Kilimanjaro. Not shortly afterwards, the mobile Serengeti Wildcamp and the permanent Ikoma Wildcamp had been added, offering safari travellers the perfect bush experience at two of Tanzania's most classic safari hotspots. Another milestone has been the opening of the Highview Hotel in 2006, airly located on a hillside facing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Highview Hotel had been designed on the same lines as the Springlands Hotel - simplicity combined with quality services. ZARA's latest expansion is the Selous Wildcamp, opening in 2007. It offers the same reliability, quality and level of service that ZARA Tours is famous for - in the Selous. The Selous is Africa's largest Wildlife Reserve, an exiting area of unspoilt wilderness still relatively new to tourism. It is our concern that this area should benefit, and not suffer from the advent of tourism - therefore we have our eco guidelines.

Tsarskoe Selo, the Tsars' Village at Pushkin

zara tours nord

Tsarskoe Selo, in the town called Pushkin near St. Petersburg , is one of the area's most impressive sights. The palace complex of Tsarskoe Selo (which means “Tsars' Village” in Russian) includes attractions that are popular draws on their own: the Catherine Palace and parks, the Alexander Palace and parks, and associated outbuildings that have been restored or renovated into exhibition spaces. The entire complex is a part of the UNESCO-protected Russian World Heritage site and will dazzle you with its beauty so completely, you'll be seeing tsars!

Sights at Tsarskoe Selo

When you visit Tsar's Village for the first time, you'll want to be aware of four broad-category sights. On a second visit to the royal complex, consider taking in some of the secondary attractions or temporary exhibitions on the grounds, most of which have separate entry fees and require time dedication.

  • Catherine Palace : The Catherine Palace is one of two grand palaces at Tsarskoe Selo. Though it was built by Empress Elizabeth and named for her mother, Catherine, it was the better-known Catherine the Great who made the palace her place of summer residence, employing the work of architects and craftsmen to customize the palace to her particular tastes and requirements. Visitors to the Catherine Palace will feel Catherine the Great's presence and her love of luxury within its sumptuous rooms. The Catherine Palace wasn't used by any Russian tsar as regularly as Catherine the Great, so her influence in the palace's appearance remains. The Catherine Palace is also where visitors can see the recreated Amber Room , which glows with the careful placement of tons of many-hued Baltic Sea amber.
  • Catherine Park : Visitors have plenty to feast their eyes on here; the Catherine park is much more than the name implies. The grounds include the gardens and outbuildings associated with the Catherine Palace, many of which have been renovated and can also be viewed from the inside. Take a ferry around the Great Pond or explore the park on foot while you envision Catherine the Great out on a stroll with her beloved dogs, who are buried in a special cemetery designated specifically for them.
  • Alexander Park : The Alexander Park is less groomed than the Catherine Park, but given its closeness to the Alexander Palace, it isn't difficult to imagine Nicholas II's children playing here. The infamous mystic, Rasputin, was also buried in the area directly after his death, but so reviled was he that the body was disposed of after the Revolution.

Planning Your Visit to Tsarskoe Selo

Seeing Tsarskoe Selo in its entirety will take a whole day or more, so plan to arrive early and leave late, especially during the summer months when tourist numbers swell. Most guided tours are in Russian. English-language tours are subject to guide availability, and Tsarskoe Selo doesn't accept advance booking for individual visitors to the museum.

Almost every section of Tsarskoe Selo requires its own entry fee, so if you're on a budget, you'll want to have an idea of ticket prices and the complete cost of admission to all of the sights you want to see. Catherine Park and Catherine Palace tickets must be purchased together. You can buy tickets to the Alexander Palace once you're there, but the Alexander Park requires no entry fee.

Prepare to overpay for refreshments and snacks at the palace complex. Look for vendors selling popular Russian street food, such as blini, to dine on the run and save both time and money. Cafes within the palace complex give you the opportunity to rest your feet while you refuel.

To learn more about ticket prices, hours of operation, and both temporary and permanent exhibitions, visit the Tsarskoe Selo website, which can be accessed in both English and Russian languages.
