Update (April 19): This article has been updated with Luke Combs’ latest average setlist.

If Luke Combs could do anything, he’d still be doin’ this. Over the last eight years, the singer-songwriter has risen to the top of country music’s A-list with a combination of well-honed songwriting chops and a can’t miss live show. The seven-time Grammy nominee, who recently coaxed Tracy Chapman onto the Grammys stage for a rare, heartwarming duet of her iconic single “Fast Car,” is set to hit the road this spring for his upcoming Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour in support of his 2022 Growin’ Up and 2023 Gettin’ Old albums.

The trek kicks off on April 12 with a doubleheader in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a total of 30 dates throughout the summer will follow.

Combs’ 2024 tour features two shows in most cities on the bill, and almost all of the stops in each city are on Fridays and Saturdays. Because of that format, Combs is bringing a ton of special guests out on the road with him for the shows, including The Avett Brothers , Cody Jinks , Jordan Davis , Mitchell Tenpenny and more.

Luke Combs Sets Stadium Tour Dates for 2022

Following his CMA Awards entertainer of the year win on Wednesday (Nov. 10), Luke Combs has announced stadium tour dates for 2022.

By Jessica Nicholson

Luke Combs

Following his entertainer of the year win at Wednesday’s (Nov. 10) CMA Awards, Luke Combs has announced several stadium shows for next year, including performances at Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High on May 21, Seattle’s Lumen Field on June 4 and Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 30.

Joining Combs for these shows will be Zach Bryan, Cody Johnson and Morgan Wade.

Combs currently has a top 5 hit on Billboard ‘s Country Airplay chart with “Cold As You,” which is the seventh single to be released from his What You See Ain’t Always What You Get project. During his CMA Awards performance on Wednesday, Combs debuted a new song, “Doin’ This.”

8 Can't-Miss Moments From the 2021 CMA Awards

Trending on billboard.

“This song means a lot to me personally,” Combs said via a press release. “Not to recite the lyrics, but for me, it’s truly about playing country music for a crowd, whether that’s 70 people or 70,000 people, and playing country music with my buddies in the band. It really doesn’t matter where we’re playing or how many people we’re playing for because it isn’t about the fame, the fortune, the name, or the glory. It’s about getting to make and play country music.”

Combs also noted the swirl of career happenings over the past few days, saying, “This week has been a whirlwind – got to debut a new song on the CMAs, release the song and music video to my fans, and announce three stadium shows at NFL stadiums. Talk about a week! It will be hard to top this one.”

Tickets for these newly confirmed stadium shows will be available for pre-sale beginning Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster Verified Fan. The general on sale will open Friday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. local time.

Combs also recently released the track “South On Ya,” which was added as the official theme song for the SEC Network’s 2021 football season.

Luke Combs conquers Denver with sold-out stadium show

luke combs tour 2022 setlist

  • Reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs kicked off his "Stadium Series" in Denver.
  • Combs performed for more than 50,000 fans inside Empower Field at Mile High.
  • A trio of fast-rising artists - Morgan Wade, Zach Bryan and Cody Johnson - opened the show.

DENVER, Colorado — Luke Combs climbed to the peak of country music's mountaintop this weekend — embracing the view with an ear-to-ear grin and drink in his hand.

Combs performed Saturday for a sold-out crowd of roughly 53,000 inside Empower Field at Mile High, the first N.F.L. stadium headlined by the "Forever After All" singer since he barnstormed country music five years ago with his remarkable rise from Nashville underdog to reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year.

And, as he soaked in the chilly view from 5,280 feet a day after snow covered seats inside the stadium, Combs admitted he "never, never, never, never thought in a million years" that this would happen to him.

"Today [is] the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me. It's really hard to imagine or to even process in my own head what the hell is actually going on right now. [It's] insane to me," Combs said from the towering Mile High stage.

He added, "Seven years ago, I had never been on an airplane ... I'd never lived more than an hour-and-a-half away from my parents. And here I am, three quarters away, across the United States with 53,000 people in a football stadium, playing songs that I wrote in my living room with my friends."

But as he held center stage for the two-hour show, Combs proved why he and his growing collection of hits sound best with a stadium-sized crowd singing along. The 32-year-old North Carolina native and his seven-piece band thundered through the songs that got him there: "Hurricane," "She Got The Best Of Me," "Beautiful, Crazy," "Cold As You," his latest country radio No. 1 "Doin' This" ... and the list goes on.

He shotgunned a beer during drinkin' tune "1, 2 Many," dedicated "Forever After All" to his pregnant wife Nicole and encouraged the dreamers sitting two rows from the top of the stadium — as he once did as a 21-year-old at a Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw concert — before delivering "What Memories Are Made Of."

And no, Combs didn't cut corners on opening talent for his Mile High debut, either.

Country music fans may not find a better slate of fast-rising entertainers on a one-night stage this year: Morgan Wade, a newcomer schooled in singing truth-telling anthems with her unvarnished drawl; Zach Bryan, a troubadour and Navy veteran who climbed from DIY roots to release this week a mammoth 34-song major label debut album; and Cody Johnson, a neotraditional Texan who’s dominating country radio.

“Mile High, I’ll be honest, this is the biggest crowd I’ve ever played for,” Bryan said as he popped open a Budweiser tallboy. “It means the world.”

After nearly two dozen songs — including rollicking covers of Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson — Combs inched toward closing his set with cornerstone hit "When It Rains It Pours" before returning for a three song encore: Big-voiced ballad "Better Together," David Lee Murphy cover "Dust On The Bottle" with Johnson and fist-pumping crowd favorite "Beer Never Broke My Heart."

Tossing his red cup into the audience, he soaked in the view once more before kicking into a beefy chant of "Long. Neck. Ice. Cold. Beer."

"Denver, have we had fun tonight?" Combs said, closing his show. "I love y'all. I owe my whole ... life to every single one of y'all in here."

See Luke Combs’ 2024 Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour Setlist

Luke Combs is taking his fans on an emotional journey with the setlist for his 2024 Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour .

The country hitmaker is opening the show with his song "Must've Never Met You." Although it's a song about loving someone with a broken heart, it feels like a love song to the crowd — as if he's starting off by saying this matters to him. Each show and each moment with his fans isn't something he takes for granted.

Similar to his World Tour in 2023 , Combs is kicking things off each night with several singalong hits, courting the audience before gently leading them into more sentimental tracks.

Fans can expect to hear his new dad song " The Man He Sees in Me ," which he wrote after becoming a father.

What Songs Does Luke Combs Cover on Tour?

During this year's Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour, Combs will continue to cover a handful of songs that have become staples at his shows: This includes Ed Sheeran 's tracks "Dive," Combs' wildly successful rendition of Tracy Chapman 's "Fast Car" and Brooks & Dunn 's "Brand New Man." The "Where the Wild Things Are" singer joined the duo for a new version of the track for the Reboot album.

He's also sprinkling in some mini-covers during his band introductions, covering portions of Shania Twain, Train and Dierks Bentley.

Luke Combs’ Record-Breaking Tour: Setlist, Tickets, & More

by Em Casalena May 2, 2024, 2:05 pm

Country star Luke Combs kicked off his highly anticipated Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour earlier last month, and the tour has been going strong. Combs decided to take a more unconventional approach to touring this year by staying for two nights in a row for most of his concert dates, giving fans in different cities more opportunities to catch him live.

Videos by American Songwriter

Combs’ tour has already broken records , too. He’s broken the record for most single and two-night attendance numbers at Milwaukee’s American Family field. His two shows in Buffalo, New York also broke attendance records, as well as non-attendance records at Beaver Stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania.

His setlist hasn’t disappointed, either. While no two shows will be exactly the same, the following setlist from his opening night back on April 12 is a good indication of what to expect for the rest of the tour. Plus, Combs is giving fans a chance to vote on songs that they would like to hear for their respective tour dates. Now that’s a performer who cares about his fans!

Host McEntire will also take the stage as a vocalist.

A trio of duets — Female Artist and Album of the Year nominee Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan; New Male Artist of the Year nominee Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne; and six-time ACM Award recipient Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani — have also been announced for the evening.

Other artists who've achieved this feat include Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Lambert, Stapleton and Carrie Underwood.

Luke Combs leads all artists with eight nominations, while Megan Moroney garnered the most ACM nods for a female artist with six nominations.

As well, Jelly Roll is among a dozen first-time ACM award nominees for 2024, including Kassi Ashton, Tyler Childers, Ashley Cooke, Hannah Ellis, Flatland Cavalry, Kameron Marlowe, Kylie Morgan, Neon Union, Restless Road, Conner Smith, and Tigirlily Gold.
