Long Island Spirits is the first craft distillery on Long Island since the 1800’s located in Baiting Hollow. The distillery is home of LiV Vodka, and is surrounded by 5,000 acres of potato farms, in the heart of the acclaimed wine region of the North Fork. Long Island Spirits is uniquely a farm-to-bottle hand craft distillery operation. The Long Island Spirits tasting room offers samples of each product made on sight, and is open 7 days a week. Customers are welcome to try a flight of vodka or taste the Pine Barrens single malt whisky, and receive a souvenir frozen shot glass with the vodka or a mini rocks tumbler with the whisky. The back deck overlooks a 100 acres of potatoes and vineyards which is one of the several farms that are used to Hand Craft LiV Vodka.

This was my second time with Kevin on a "Tapped Enterprises" tour bus. Once was a private tour and this time a group event. We went to Orchard Vineyards, Sherwood House, and Long Ireland Brewery. My husband, 11 of our friends and I were lucky enough to have spent a day at the Breweries with Tapped Enterprises for my husband's 30th birthday. The day was PERFECT! Kevin and the T.E. crew were very accommodating and it was clear the #1 priority was making sure everyone had a good time. Mission accomplished! I loved how the payment system was setup so everyone who was attending could pay on their own through a website setup specifically for our event. I loved our bus driver, the way the bus was setup allowing us to play our own music, and all three breweries we visited were great. We particularly loved the Great South Bay Brewery that had a foosball table and a corn hole set which added a nice twist to our last stop. This is just the coolest thing....um... EVER! It's basically like a winery tour bus - BUT - it's for COOL people that like to drink beer! It's a designated driver, taking you to all the kick ass breweries on Long Island - and they get you back to your starting point safely!!! The guy driving the bus was soooo nice to everyone and really went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time! What a phenomenal idea - bus tours of local breweries and beer fests!!! Sit back, relax and let Tapped Enterprises do the rest. Kevin is a great driver & host and was super knowledgeable about all the local brewers. Tours of the breweries, tastings, and snacks were included. Tours can be customized to include lunch. Limos and wine trails can be so hit or miss. It's so much better tasting beers and cheaper to fill growlers. I will recommend Tapped to everyone I know, what a great idea!

I went on their ski trip to hunter mountain. Everyone and everything was spectacular. The bus driver was really cool, professional yet entertaining. There is nothing bad I could say about Tapped and the individuals who helped coordinate the entire day from pick-up to drop-off.I worked closely with Kevin to organize the day and he handled all the details. We were able to hit up a great winery (which opened early exclusively for us), had a great meal and enjoyed so much beer at Bluepoint.I cannot say anything bad about Kevin, he handled my OCD random questions and was so great with keeping us on time and safe. Customer service at it's finest. Even though the weather couldn't hold out- we had a great time singing oldies on the bus back in the rain. We can not thank Kevin enough for one of the best brewery tours we have ever gone on. Kevin from Tapped enterprise is a professional and knowledgeable beer expert. The whole process from talking to Kevin on the phone setting up the tour to final drop off, he went above and beyond. Our tour started off at GSB brewery then to long Ireland brewery (my personal favorite) then to diggers for some food and then last stop crooked ladder brewery. Kevin recommended a beer at each place that I made sure I personally sampled and have to agree with him that they were good. We had a group of 14 people and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend using them for your brewery tours. We are already planning another trip for after the holidays with a bigger group.

Let me just say WOW!!!!! Kevin the owner is fantastic to deal with. Everything was mapped out with his suggestions. We did Woodside Orchard that had a hard cider tasting room, Jason's Vineyard and Long Ireland Brewery. It was great since we had a mixed crowed so we had something for everyone. Ashley was fantastic as well. The bus was cleaned after each stop we were kept on schedule without feeling rushed. The day could not have gone better. A few people in my party already said they are booking their own family trips. Nothing but great things from this company. Kevin and Ashley made everyone feel like we have been family! Beer buses and craft beer is where it is at.

After being on 2 trips now with Kevin and Tapped Enterprises, I will tell you it is a lot of fun. Kevin is a good guy who bought a bus and now drives drunk people around places. I went on the Yelp elite tour of LI breweries with Tapped, and on the Hunter Mountain ski trip. The tour was great as it was on his bus but Kevin did not get to party as he was driving us around. The other reviews here are about that, but I will write about the Ski trip. This was on a large bus and was sponsored by Port Jeff Brewery and Tap & Barrel both excellent establishments. We were all set with a full 1/2 barrel keg and a 1/6th of Port Jefferson Brew. Me and my friend were drinking beers at 4am on the bus. However, we were not prepared for the animals that got on at Tap and Barrel. They were hilarious and were still partying from the night before. We got a prime parking spot steps away from the lodge. I don't know how Kevin managed that but it was nice! We rode/skied all day and at 3 pm had a huge party in said prime parking spot. I got to drink beer with Mike the owner of PJ brewery the man who made it! There was a full out party going on and I saw some guys come over from Hunter Mountain and I thought we were going to get shut down but they wanted some food! I had so much of that 8% beer that I did not realize that my beer was freezing up as I drank it. Temperatures were in single digits. Probably the first time in my life I had to worry about my beer getting too COLD rather than warm! Overall though this is great. The girls going to wineries in their cat heels and limos are so mid 2000's. Beer buses and craft beer is where it is at!

Had an absolutely great time being driven around Long Island on this rolling beer bus on Sunday! How can you not love this? You have a great driver, Kevin, who is very knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and most of all patient to put up with all our drunken shenanigans during this past weekend's Yelp Beer Bus event. The bus itself is clean, comfortable, and has both a tv and dock for playing your Ipod's. It's a great way to get around and taste a lot of beer without having to worry about getting a DWI ! Kevin knows all the routes to some of the best local breweries, and is a big craft beer guy himself. They do many beer tasting events on LI and around the local NY area and have packages available for group trips, or shorter shuttles to the local brew tastings. Check out the website for upcoming beer events and rates. To me, it's totally worth the cost to enjoy a worry free, and safe day, rather than drinking and driving. We hit up Great South Bay, Long Ireland, and Port Jeff Brewing Company. That last stop in Port Jeff on a terrific spring day was just perfect to try some beers and then wander around the town for a bite to eat before heading back to the train station to drop us off. Kevin has a great little biz here that I wholeheartedly endorse. Also, between stops it pretty much became a beer fueled dance party bus with some moves going on that would put some strippers to shame! Yay beer!

My first experience (and not last) with them was excellent.

What a great idea! Everyone does those winery tours...and while they're alright, I generally find that I'm waaaaaaaaaay too drunk before the second vineyard (c'mon...its wine, I can handle this) and I'm mysteriously broke after spending a day in some cheesy limo. Enter: Tapped Enterprises. This fella, Kevin, decided that he was sick of the monotonous work like the rest of us fools are stuck in and purchased himself a luxury bus. They do bachelor/bachelorette parties, brewery tours, things of that nature. My first experience (and not last) with them was excellent - we had a designated driver, who knew about the different breweries and beers we were trying (as well as the people who ran them). He brought us to three different breweries on Long Island - Great South Bay, Bluepoint and Long Ireland, with a stop at Hoptron - a new brewhouse in Patchogue thats a definite must-go-to. On the ride between each brewery, we had beer, and music, and games. These guys also hold events, which I think is great. AND I didn't forget my growlers. Boom!

We used Tapped Enterprises after researching many companies to commute our group of 30 from Long Island to various vineyards in the Hamptons. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Tapped Enterprises for being so organized and making this weekend adventure the greatest success imaginable! Our group consisted of 30 adults in their mid-20's. Our driver greeted us with the upmost level of professionalism, but we insisted he was comfortable and take is suit jacket off (it had to be 100 degrees outside that day) and join in on the fun. Our group was mixed 50/50 guys and girls. With that said the guys hoped we could stop at a brewery before the wine tasting began. Tapped Enterprises was so extremely helping working with us to ensure everyone's expectations were met. We first stopped at Great South Bay Brewery. It was a great way to start our tour, it was less than 40 minutes from where we were picked up. Each guest received 4 beer sample tickets. It was very quiet when we walked in but the fun was just beginning. The music was going and everyone was comfortable to either sit at a table, or play games like corn hole. There were many beers on tap so everyone had the opportunity to sample something they would enjoy. Second stop was at Sherwood House. Here we got to sit outside on a beautiful day while enjoying lunch and some wine. The inside of this establishment is very comfortable. The rooms were decorative and fireplace really made you feel at home. The staff working with us, Kristin, was knowledgeable and helpful with her recommendations. I will defiantly be back in the future with a smaller group to enjoy their cheese platters, oysters and lovely wine selection. Last was Vineyard 48. It was the right way to end the perfect day with an incredible view where we took loads of pictures. The young, energetic culture of this place was spot on with what we were looking for. Our party hats were on with the fun music room on one end of the venue. They handed out coins to allow us to sample wines. I was upset I did not get to sample the Sauvignon Blac as it was out, but I guess that just means I have to return. The service provided by Tapped Enterprises was great. I would have never known what places to visit in the Hamptons for this party adventure and they really did a great job planning our visits. They have great relationships with the people they work with to ensure your experience is nothing but the best.. They were aware of timeliness and helped us locate the group upon departure. Communication with this company before, during and after our trip was great. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone I know, regardless of what kind of experience to the Hamptons you're looking for. THANK YOU!

Great tours of the brewery.

You can drink on the bus, there is a cooler with ice if you do not have one of your own to bring. The driver was so nice had a lot of information for us and we got great tours of the brewery.No need to bring any money but there is more than enough stuff to buy if you want along the way.

Our group of 10 went on the Beer and Burger tour on a rainy Sun. Can't think of a better way to have spent the day. I had e-mailed Kevin and Ashley several times during the reservation process and they were great to deal with. Due to a scheduling conflict, we could not all fit on the bus, so they sent a limo for our group. Our driver was Column and he was great! Kevin was driving the bus and kept in contact with us at every stop. Our first stop was Spider Bite Beer Co where we all got a flight of delicious beer. Our group was so loud but the proprietors took it in stride and were so nice and accommodating. Next stop was Horace and Sylvia's for yummy burgers and a pint of beer. Our last stop was Great South Bay Brewery which had a great variety of beers. Kevin took us on a tour of their brewing process. I can't say enough about him. He is friendly, personable and extremely knowledgeable about beer making. We had a great day and look forward to doing another tour with Tapped!

You're the best-est KEVIN! You definitely know your stuff. Thank you for the great beer tour. This is one of my best experience I had since moving here to LI. He is a chill guy who knows how to give us a great time. What a great idea!! Long Island has so many cool microbrews and brew pubs to offer, and being that you'd (of course) want to visit more than one in a day, this is the perfect way to do it. I was recently part of the 5th Annual Sleigh Rye'd tour hosted by Great South Bay Brewery. The fact that they were the ones hosting was reason enough to get me here. We visited GSB in Bayshore, BobbieQue & Hoptron Brewtique in Patchogue, the South Shore Dive in Sayville, and TJ Finley's back in Bayshore. Free santa hats and a free pint was given at every bar, and not to mention the beer on the bus kept this party rolling! What an awesome day to try out some different brews, meet some new people, and get from point A to point B safely! Would definitely recommend this and do it again myself!

I just did a brewery tour with LI beer bus for my fiancé's 30th birthday. Everyone had SUCH a great time!! We did the west south shore tour with a group of 20 people. Throughout the planning process Kevin and Mike were very helpful and responsive. They found out ahead of time that the pub we were supposed to go to was celebrating St. Patrick's day the day of our tour so they switched us to another pub with the same deal to avoid being stuck in that crowd. Our driver Sal was super nice and kept us on time all day without making us feel rushed. This is a great deal for your money. We had pick up from Manhattan, comfortable seating and partying on the bus, plenty of food at the pub (and awesome craft beer selections) and the tastings at the brewery (especially Blue Point) were way bigger than I was expecting for a tasting. I planned a 3 location tour with 12 members. I was in direct contact with Kevin for weeks prior to the event. He was able to answer all of my questions and was incredibly patient. The tour was organized and the bus was immaculate. When we arrived at each location they were awaiting our arrival. There are many tours and events you can participate in such as the Pub Crawl (in which you sample some of the coolest pubs and clubs LI has to offer), Backyard Games (an all day tournament very much like Hunger Games but without the death and blood), and the Brewery Tour (where you sample the concoctions of several breweries on Strong effing Island!).I took part in the Brewery Tour and I had a fantastic time. You start in LI's largest brewery Blue Point where you can enjoy free tastings. From there you move onto Brick House Brewery and Restaurant for more delicious beers. And then you go to the fabulous Long Ireland Beer Company in Riverhead. On my tour we also made a stop to the ultra cool Hoptron Brewery. You're probably thinking, I don't need a bus, I'll just get my frenemy to haul the crew around LI. No. You won't look super fine pulling up in your old Honda. You'll look lame. Be the rockstar that you know you are and drive in style in Kevin's sexy sleek PARTY bus. Emphasis on the PARTY because things will go down in this bus. I have to say THANK YOU to Kevin first and foremost for dealing with the insane planning and all the changes that went along with planning my brother-in-law's bachelor party. And second, for the great time that everyone had. Our driver, Brian was so great and he was there to help us with anything we needed all night and kept us on track with the schedule to make sure we hit all the places we wanted and to get us back on time. Alot of my brother-in-law's family and friends live out of state so it was very hard to get answers as to who could make it but Kevin never gave me a problem about every time the number of people changed or i wanted to alter the itinerary. He was so cool about everything and helped me plan the whole night. He set us up with a one-hour open bar and some apps (delicious wings and mozzarella sticks) at T.J. Finley's in Bay Shore. Then we hit Verde, headed over to Mary Carroll's in Babylon and ended the night at The Scene in Commack. Brian had the bus stocked with some sodas and waters and some ice if we needed it. The bus was also really nice and very comfortable. All the guys had a really good time and I would definitely recommend Tapped Enterprises to anyone planning any kind of special outing like this. You know I went on a limo beer tour, but somehow beer and limos just don't mix.....beer and a short bus? Rock on! One of the best and most amazing parties on wheels! Let me just say WOW!!!!! Kevin the owner is fantastic to deal with. Everything was mapped out with his suggestions. We did Woodside Orchard that had a hard cider tasting room, Jason's Vineyard and Long Ireland Brewery. It was great since we had a mixed crowd so we had something for everyone. Ashley was fantastic as well. The bus was cleaned after each stop we were kept on schedule without feeling rushed. The day could not have gone better. A few people in my party already said they are booking their own family trips. Nothing but great things from this company. Kevin and Ashley made everyone feel like we have been family! We might as well be cousins!!! I'd give 10 stars if I could!!!

Ever had a hoppin' dance party on sunrise highway.

Ever had a hoppin' dance party on Sunrise Highway? No!? Me either, until I discovered Tapped Enterprises! They picked us up at the train station and once the doors opened, bagels, friendly faces and an awesome time were awaiting us. This tour specifically stopped at Woodside Orchids, Sherwood house vineyards and Long Ireland brewery allowing a little something for everyone. Kevin seems to have a great working relationship with local breweries, farms, and wineries. They book tours, parties and even just basic transportation to and from events, lowering the number of DWI arrests for the Suffolk County police! I say bah to all those annoying long island wine limo tours that take you to the least common denominators of alcohol on the north shore (I'm looking right at you, Pindar and Vineyard 48!) and hop on a short bus. Not only is it amazing to love what you do, but to make other people happy while doing it takes your job to a completely different level. Big props to Kevin and Tapped Enterprises for a fantastic time!

Went above and beyond.

We can not thank Kevin enough for one of the best brewery tours we have ever gone on. Kevin from Tapped enterprises is a professional and knowledgeable beer expert. The whole process from talking to Kevin on the phone setting up the tour to final drop off, he went above and beyond. Our tour started off at GSB brewery then to long Ireland brewery (my personal favorite) then to diggers for some food and then last stop crooked ladder brewery. Kevin recommended a beer at each place that I made sure I personally sampled and have to agree with him that they were good. We had a group of 14 people and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend using them for your brewery tours. We are already planning another trip for after the holidays with a bigger group.

This is a genius idea formed by Kevin, who is the master of designated driving. It takes a lot to deal with drunken assholes but he has got it covered! The bus was comfortable and tricked out with an Ipod dock, and you can bring as much beer as you want to drink on your way to...drink more. There are a lot of different breweries to choose from across the Island, plus some cool stops in between! This is the man's (or awesome woman's) alternative to a typical LI wine tour. Definitely recommend for an awesome bachelor party, birthday party, or just to party!

I booked tapped enterprises for a winery tour for a bachelorette party while we stayed in Greenport. From the booking to the actual day everything went smoothly. Booking was a breeze. The day of the tour the bus arrived on time and driver was texting to let me know of exact arrival time. The girls loved the bus & not having to climb in and out of a limo. A cooler with ice and water was provided as well as cups and paper towels. The driver was great and had us hooked up with our tastings very quickly at each winery. There was no confusion about anything with I have experienced with other companies in the past. We also stopped at the LI vodka distillery which was a nice change from the wineries. The driver also helped us check the bus to make sure we did not leave any valuables on board! I highly recommend this company for whatever your needs are. They are very accommodating and were able to provide the exact itinerary that I was looking for. Other companies were not as willing to accommodate an exact itinerary (there were specific wineries we wanted to go to). Thanks tapped!

Accommodating and patient with us.

We used Tapped Enterprises for our wedding and it was a great choice!!! While other transportation companies gave me many limitations, Kevin was so accommodating and patient with us! There was a time change and I completely forgot to inform Kevin but his patience, understanding, and willingness to accommodate the change was greatly appreciated!!! He worked with us regarding a trip to the venue for the bridal party and provided multiple trips to the venue and back to the hotel for our guests! Great day! We did the east end tour. Kevin was our guide and driver! He was amazing! The price is worth it! We had a great lunch at publik house in Southampton. I am a HUGE craft beer drinker and there was MORE then enough beer. We never had to pay out if pocket. The iPhone music hook up for our bus music was amazing surprise. The cheese platter was great. I thought it would be cheesy ( no pun intended lol) but it was great! The go pro cam was cool but it died before the party really got started. Great time, great food, great beer and awesome memories!

Absolutely loved this experience. I threw a surprise 30th birthday party for my boyfriend with Tapped Enterprises and Kevin and Nick (our driver) were so extremely helpful and great about it. If you love beer, this is for you. It's a different experience than the usual wine tour. Make sure you eat well before and throughout the tour because you will be getting enough beer to hold you over and outdo your body weight (not a bad thing!!). My boyfriend had a great time, and each guest did as well. It was a celebration that each and every person got to enjoy! I would 200% recommend. We are proud to call Riverhead home. While our brand espouses and embraces the Montauk lifestyle, the expense and logistical challenges of locating in Montauk made the decision to build our distillery in Riverhead compelling. By avoiding the financial burden of breaking ground further out East, we have been able to enjoy greater flexibility.

Our focus on enhancing the brand led us to open a tasting room in the space adjacent to our distillery. The beauty and ambiance of “The Firehouse” has led it to be a favorite destination of visitors and residents of the region.

Montauk Distilling Co. is in the old, decommissioned Firehouse on 2nd Street in Riverhead, NY. We are centrally located in town, amongst several commercial buildings, a block off main street where retail stores, restaurants, and hotels reside. The story of breadfruit begins in Tahiti and travels across the Caribbean, and of course includes a chapter on the most famous mutiny tale ever told. Brought to the Caribbean, it was key to feeding the populations of St. Croix and all the Caribbean.

Manley found a dynamic, like-minded partner in award-winning master distiller Chris Richeson. Together they labored to achieve, for the first time ever, a perfect distillation using the precious ingredients of breadfruit and water. And so in 2017 they created a luxury island vodka that honors the rich history of the island that gave birth to it. Conceived on the island of St. Croix and perfected in the year of the hurricanes, MUTINY Island Vodka unleashes an unforgettable taste that is distinctive and clear and clean, a true island vodka with a luxurious smoothness that takes you to the trade winds and blue waters of its island home.

This project will provide value-added agricultural products for St. Croix, and assist in the relief of the hurricane-devastated population. Additionally, it will raise the public consciousness of breadfruit, which is seen by some as a way to ease world hunger. A study by the National Tropical Botanical Garden’s Breadfruit Institute promotes it as a superfood from a high- and long-yielding tree that has many culinary uses.

Mutiny Island Vodka supports this use of breadfruit to ease world hunger and fortify food security. We will do this by donating portions of our proceeds to groups such as The Breadfruit Institute and Trees That Feed Foundation, who use forestation of breadfruit and education on its uses in needing regions of the worlds. Todd Manley, Chef, Founder, Visionary

Whether exploring local and indigenous foodways, envisioning the future of new and historic ingredients or investing in the future of his adopted home, award-winning Chef Todd Manley brings passion and authenticity to everything he does. The creative visionary behind the brand, Todd is originally from Virginia, where he was chef/owner of multiple restaurants, and is now Executive Chef and Partner of four diverse restaurants on St. Croix. The idea for MUTINY Island Vodka came from his vision of creating a distilled spirit utilizing local ingredients that represent the richness of the island. Breadfruit, found on St. Croix and throughout the Caribbean and Pacific islands, is the basis for the vodka and a testament to Todd’s commitment to using the finest, most authentic ingredients. Todd hopes to use breadfruit as a basis for other industries on the island.

Art Wollenweber,  Master Distiller

A bit of an artistic soul with a love of nature, Art used his talents as a chemical engineer for more than 25 years at DuPont before switching to rum production, which brought him to St. Croix 11 years ago. He later made the switch to producing vodka with MUTINY Island Vodka, where he’s perfected his craft and found his calling at Sion Farm Distillery. When he’s not distilling vodka, he’s involved in his community, supporting the use of breadfruit to ease world hunger and fortify food security.

Shawn M. Henderson, Director of Office Operations & Human Resources/Executive Assistant

A world traveler and Air Force veteran, Shawn Henderson brings more than 18 years of experience as a human resource professional to the MUTINY Island Vodka brand. He has worked in a variety of industries including education, law and hospitality. Shawn’s life in St. Croix began five years ago after making the move from Washington, D.C. Shawn brings to the Sion Farm Distillery team his love of the island and his commitment to celebrating the diversity that is St. Croix.

Chris Richeson, Distiller and CEO, Chesapeake Bay Distillery

The CEO, owner and operator of Chesapeake Bay Distillery located in Virginia Beach, VA, Chris has more than 15 years of distilling experience and is the gold-medal-winning distiller behind the MUTINY Island Vodka original recipe. Chris’s mission has always been to produce the cleanest spirits possible. His attention and commitment to quality have led to three double gold medals and happy patrons around the world.

Linda and Donald Sookram are discovering a little-known corner -- and product -- of farm country. Shot glasses in hand, the Richmond Hill, Queens, couple stand at the bar in the Long Island Spirits Distillery tasting room in Baiting Hollow, drinking samples of locally produced Sorbetta, a liqueur also known as a vodka-based infusion.

They clink glasses and -- arms linked -- take sips of lemon Sorbetta.

"I like the fruity taste," says Linda. But the lime- and orange-tinged versions are rendered "a little strong."

DRINKIN' WHISKEY AND RYE

The Long Island Spirits Distillery takes a detour off the beaten path of North Fork tasting rooms. In a rustic, 2,500-square-foot oak-timber room inside a restored historic barn, glasses are filled with liquor instead of merlot or chardonnay.

Local agricultural products, such as potatoes and strawberries, are fermented and distilled in a main-floor production area. The distilling process takes a little more than a week for vodka. In addition, whiskeys and brandies are aged in barrels for one to five years. Well over 50,000 bottles will be produced this year by Long Island Spirits Distillery, says owner Rich Stabile of Smithtown, who founded the operation in 2007.

Visitors choose their "poison," as the old saying goes, from five kinds of Sorbetta, which includes strawberry and raspberry; two types of vodka (LIV and espresso, both distilled from potatoes grown on East End farms), and three whiskeys: Pine Barrens Single Malt Whisky, Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whisky and Rough Rider Bull Moose Three Barrel Rye Whisky.

Each pour is three-quarters of an ounce, amounting to less than a shot -- and you get to keep the glass as a souvenir. Drink mixes, soda, T-shirts, shakers and other nonalcoholic items also are sold in the tasting room. A picture window looks out onto a deck, a potato field and the vineyards of the neighboring Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard.

On a Sunday afternoon, a steady stream of vodka and whiskey aficionados from near and far line up for tastes.

"I'm not much of a wine drinker," says T.J. Diaz, 30, an electrician from Farmingville. "This is my forte."

Stacey Markle, 37, visiting from upstate Medina, calls the vodka she tastes "very smooth and drinkable."

HOW TO TASTE LIQUOR

A craft distillery in wine country isn't such a reach -- doing a proper whiskey, rye and vodka tasting is "very much like tasting a wine," Stabile explains. Here are the steps:

1. AROMA The scent is the first thing that hits you.

2. TASTE As with wine, roll some on your palate to release the flavors.

3. FINISH Stabile describes this as "a long-lasting, light burn that you get at the end." Take note of how long it lasts on your tongue and at the back of your throat.
