It was a amazing experience. The ladies of Celtic Woman put on a great show and it was everything I expected. I will definitely be going to see them if they come back to the Denver area.

Amazing show. 10/10 would recommend.

Beautiful voices and really care about their fans and their show. You can feel the emoition in the songs.I think it sounds just as good if not better than the digital versions of the songs. The dancers are really great too.

Celtic Women were great, really enjoyed the show, one we will remember.

We just wish Asheville had a better venue that was designed for concerts rather than ball games.

10 out of 10 for Celtic Women but only 4 out of 10 for the venue.

Come on Ashvegas, build a better venue.

Celtic Woman Tour Celebrates 20 Years

On the heels of the successful “Postcards From Ireland,” tour Celtic Woman performances is bringing to North America an all-new live show to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Said a release: "The Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Tour will be delighting audiences with its fresh blend of traditional and contemporary Irish music that echoes Ireland's rich musical and cultural heritage, while reflecting the vibrant spirit of modern Ireland.

"In the 20 years since the global musical sensation’s debut, Celtic Woman has emerged as both a formidable musical presence and a genuine cultural phenomenon.

"The group's albums and DVD releases have been consistent multi-platinum best-sellers and its concert tours continue to touch the hearts of a devoted audience that spans the globe. Both an accomplished recording ensemble and a world-class performing collective, Celtic Woman introduces some of Ireland's most talented singers and musicians to the world stage.

"The group's repertoire encompasses Irish classics, contemporary songs, classical favorites and stirring originals. The lineup of performers has evolved in the years since the group's inception but the signature sound of Celtic Woman has remained consistent, showcasing the members' individual and collaborative talents."

celtic woman tour 2023 in ireland

The release stated that Celtic Woman is comprised of "four young Irish women whose performing skills bring centuries of musical and cultural tradition to life. In concert, their angelic voices and instrumental virtuosity are accompanied by a robust ensemble that includes Irish dancers, bagpipers and a full band playing an array of traditional Celtic instruments, including bodhrán, tin whistle, bouzouki and Uilleann pipes.

"Returning to the group is soprano Mairéad Carlin, a former member who joins the show for this very special anniversary tour. Joining her are fellow soprano Muirgen O’Mahony, fiddle and Irish harp maestro Tara McNeill, as well as the newest member of the group, the multi-talented Emma Warren, who has toured with Riverdance, Heartbeat of Home and most recently performed in Les Miserables, London.

"Later this year, PBS will air the accompanying “20th ANNIVERSARY” TV special in North America across 60+ local PBS stations. Filmed in The Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, it takes fans on a journey back to where it all began 20 years ago (and in the very same theatre).

"The TV special features appearances from four very special guests including original members Lisa Kelly, Máiréad Nesbitt, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha and Chloë Agnew -- who join Celtic Woman for this wonderful TV special packed with emotional and heart stirring performances."

Following the PBS broadcasts, the “20th ANNIVERSARY” album and DVD will be released in January 2024 and will feature brand-new compositions and arrangements plus some fan favorites.

Added the release: "Since 2005, Celtic Woman has sold over ten million CDs and DVDs, and amassed more than 3 billion streams, making it the only all-female act to achieve multi-platinum success in the classical crossover and world music genres during the past decade. Named Billboard’s #1 World Music Artist of the Year six times, 12 of the studio CDs have debuted at #1 on Billboard’s World Album chart. Celtic Woman has also scored two Top 10 debuts on Billboard’s influential album chart and five Top Five DVDs on Billboard’s Top Video chart, as well as achieving platinum-level sales in nine countries. Their 2016 album release, “Destiny”, was nominated for a Grammy award in the category of Best World Music Album, marking the group’s first-ever Grammy nomination."

Returning to the group is soprano Mairéad Carlin, a former member who joins the show for this very special anniversary tour.

Later this year, PBS will air the accompanying “ 20th ANNIVERSARY ” TV special in North America across 60+ local PBS stations. Filmed in The Helix Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, it takes fans on a journey back to where it all began 20 years ago (and in the very same theatre). Since 2005, Celtic Woman has sold over ten million CDs and DVDs, and amassed more than 3 billion streams, making it the only all-female act to achieve multi-platinum success in the classical crossover and world music genres during the past decade. Standing at Concerts

Standing and Dancing at Concerts: DPAC is proud to welcome all types of concerts to our stage. Sometimes during the course of a concert performance, audience members will show their enthusiasm by standing and dancing, especially when encouraged by the performers to do so. Unless directed by the show, we do not ever enforce a must sit policy at concerts. For most concerts, this would not be acceptable to the performers on stage who often love it when the crowd is moved enough by the performance to stand. This is especially true for rock shows and for seats closest to the stage.

Please know that DPAC does not have a “no standing” policy and in most situations will allow guests to stand even if they block the view of the stage for other guests. If your view is ever blocked by a standing or dancing guest, please contact an usher and we’ll attempt to find alternative seating.

  • Our computerized ticket system enables you equal access to great DPAC seats whether you buy online, by phone, or in person at DPAC.
  • For more details, visit our  Purchase Seats  page for complete information on purchasing great seats for all events at DPAC.
  • All tickets for DPAC events are fully digital and only accessible via your mobile device.  A mobile ticket is the safest, most convenient, and flexible way to receive and manage your tickets while increasing protection against fraud. To learn more about mobile entry, please visit our  Mobile Entry FAQ .

Video Screens

Currently, this event has not approved using our video screens.  Please feel free to check back closer to the event for updates. If approved, we will post notice here.

For many concert, comedy, and special events at DPAC, we offer added views of the stage with two big screens (size: 16’ x 9’) hung to the sides of the stage or above the stage. These big screens can add to the visual experience of our concert, comedy, and special events and give guests seated farther from the stage what we like to call “a tenth row view”. Approval to use these screens always rests with the visiting show and about half of all concert and comedy events do use these screens.

The group’s repertoire encompasses Irish classics, contemporary songs, classical favorites and stirring originals. The lineup of performers has evolved in the years since the group’s inception, but the signature sound of Celtic Woman has remained consistent, showcasing the members’ individual and collaborative talents.

Celtic Woman is comprised of four young Irish women whose performing skills bring centuries of musical and cultural tradition to life. In concert, their angelic voices and instrumental virtuosity are accompanied by a robust ensemble that includes Irish dancers, bagpipers and a full band playing an array of traditional Celtic instruments, including bodhran, tin whistle, bouzouki and Uilleann pipes.

Celtic Woman has sold over ten million CDs and DVDs, making it the only all-female act to achieve multi-platinum success in the classical crossover and world music genres during the past decade. Named Billboard’s #1 World Music Artist of the Year six times, twelve of the studio CDs have debuted at #1 on Billboard’s World Album chart. Celtic Woman has also scored two Top 10 debuts on Billboard’s influential album chart and five Top Five DVDs on Billboard’s Top Video chart, as well as achieving platinum-level sales in nine countries. Their 2016 album release, Destiny, was nominated for a Grammy award in the category of Best World Music Album, marking the group’s first-ever Grammy nomination.

Celtic Woman continues to perform its sonically and visually stunning concerts in front of capacity crowds around the world, having racked up cumulative ticket sales of over four million and performing for adoring crowds in 23 countries on six continents.

Named Celtic Woman to represent the essence of a Celtic female performer, the group made its American television debut in early 2005 with a self-titled PBS concert special, which captured a sold-out performance at the Helix in Dublin. Immediately thereafter, Celtic Woman’s eponymous debut CD reached #1 on Billboard’s World Music Chart and occupied the top slot for an unprecedented 81 weeks. It remained there until the release of Celtic Woman’s second album, 2006’s A Christmas Celebration, which cemented Celtic Woman’s spot at the top for a total of 112 consecutive weeks.

Although initially intended as a one-time-only event, Celtic Woman’s music was so warmly received by the public that the group immediately followed with its first concert tour in the United States. Since then, the group has maintained a strong presence on U.S. public television, where its Emmy-nominated concert specials regularly dominate the audience-supported network’s viewer pledge drives.

The group's repertoire encompasses Irish classics, contemporary songs, classical favorites, and stirring originals. Returning to the group is soprano Mairéad Carlin, a former member who joins the show for this very special anniversary tour. Joining her are fellow soprano Muirgen O’Mahony, fiddle and Irish harp maestro Tara McNeill, as well as the newest member of the group, the multi-talented Emma Warren, who has toured with Riverdance and Heartbeat of Home , and most recently performed in Les Misérables , London.

Later this year, PBS will air the accompanying “ 20th ANNIVERSARY ” TV special in North America across 60+ local PBS stations. Celtic Woman returns to Peace Center with Christmas favorites

  • December 13, 2023

celtic woman tour 2023 in ireland

Christmas music with an Irish lilt returns as the ever-popular Celtic Woman takes the stage of the Peace Center on Dec. 18.

“Celtic Woman: Christmas Symphony Tour 2023” will feature traditional music of the season as well as some fan favorites from two decades.

The Ireland-based group, fronted by three female singers and violinist Tara McNeill, are accompanied by touring musicians who play traditional Irish instruments in addition to a full local orchestra.

The singers are known for their crystalline voices and shimmering harmonies.

Though the group is popular in Ireland, the U.K. and Europe, Celtic Woman reserves its annual Christmas shows for the U.S.

“The Americans really know how to celebrate Christmas and enjoy the season,” said McNeill, speaking by phone from a tour stop in Lowell, Massachusetts.

McNeill said the cross-country tour of 20 shows features new arrangements of such carols as “Deck the Halls,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Carol of the Bells” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” among many others.

No better dream

In every city, the group is backed by a top-notch symphony orchestra. The 20-city tour began in Washington, D.C., with Celtic Woman supported by the National Symphony Orchestra for three sold-out shows at The Kennedy Center.

“I get to perform with these incredible orchestras across the states,” McNeill said. “As a violinist, I don’t know if you can have a better dream.”

Celtic Woman celebrates its 20th anniversary next year with a big U.S. tour, including 80 shows across the country beginning in February. The group’s 20th anniversary special is currently running on PBS stations.

“I just love the music so much and I get to travel around the world with wonderful, talented friends,” said McNeill, who has been with the group for eight years.

Celtic Woman is the most successful all-female group in Irish history, with a legacy of 12 Billboard No. 1 hits, 10 million album sales and more than 2 billion online streams to date.

Celtic Woman’s Christmas tour concludes in Atlanta, featuring the Atlanta Symphony. Then the group returns to Ireland on Christmas Eve, McNeill said.

They’ll be home for Christmas.

Sail Away With These 10 Ethereal Facts About Enya, the Celtic Goddess of New Age Music

E nya is the rare musician who's essentially a genre unto herself. Born Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin, the Irish songstress found surprising breakthrough success in the US from the late '80s onward, as her singularly calming mix of Celtic tradition and new age, synth-driven sounds resonated with countless listeners, from kids in dance classes to stressed-out moms looking to unwind to music buffs compelled by her uniqueness.

Enya ‘s hit songs like " Orinoco Flow " and " Only Time " are captivatingly expansive, spiritual soundscapes that feel like the musical equivalent of a meditation. Her music has always been far more cerebral and experimental than what typically tops the charts, which makes the fact that she's sold over 80 million albums worldwide and earned the title of the bestselling Irish solo artist even more fascinating.

The musician's last album, Dark Sky Island , came out in 2015, and she's known for her reclusive, enigmatic nature. Even with her shadowy presence and lack of new music, she maintains a diverse fanbase, and she's been cited as an influence by R&B divas and indie musicians alike and has even been sampled on a number of rap songs .

Here are 10 fascinating facts to help you get the know the mysterious and innovative artist a bit better.

1. Enya got her start in a family band

Born into a large Irish family in 1961, Enya was destined to follow a musical path. Members of her family formed a Celtic folk band, Clannad , in 1970, and she joined the group from 1980 to 1982. She ultimately decided she was more interested in having a solo career, and spent part of the decade composing music for films and TV. In 1987 she released her debut album, and soon enough she broke out as a popular artist in the US.

2. She has an eclectic array of influences

Enya's music is characterized by lusciously layered vocals - all of which are her own. While Enya's style is very different from classic pop, she said she was inspired by the dramatic "Wall of Sound" style producer Phil Spector created in the '60s, and in another interview, she said that her 1991 song " Angeles " layered 500 tracks of her own voice. Some of her other influences include classical music, religious music and traditional Irish music.

3. Enya was nominated for an Oscar

Enya has won four Grammy Awards for Best New Age Album. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her song " May It Be ," which was composed for the blockbuster 2001 fantasy film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring . While it didn't win, there's no arguing that Enya's songs pair perfectly with mystical worlds.

4. One of her songs became particularly resonant in the wake of 9/11

One of Enya's signature songs, "Only Time," was released in 2000. In 2001, following the immense trauma of 9/11, the song gained a new resonance , as it frequently appeared in news footage as a means of providing comfort to a grieving nation, and Enya performed it on Larry King Live just months after the attack. She then donated all proceeds from the song to the International Association of Firefighters.

5. Enya has sung in an impressive variety of languages

In addition to singing in English and the Irish language she grew up speaking, Enya has also sung in Welsh, French, Latin and Japanese. She's even sung in fictional languages like Loxian (a language invented by her producer's wife) and Sindarin and Quenya (languages used in The Lord of the Rings ).

6. Enya has never toured

When you're a popular artist, you go on tour and perform sold-out shows for your adoring fans, right? Not if you're Enya! While she's made appearances on various TV shows and awards shows, she's never actually gone on tour . Because her music relies so heavily on studio experimentation and layered vocals, she's long felt that the sound is impossible to replicate live.

7. There's a planet and a fish named after her

Enya's music gets pretty spacey, and she reached a new level of the cosmos when a minor planet was named after her in 1991. In 2017, a new species of fish discovered in the Orinoco River drainage area was also named Enya, as an homage to her classic song "Orinoco Flow."

8. Enya lives in a castle

In 1997, Enya bought a castle in Ireland, and she's lived there alone, as she's never married or had children, ever since. It's a fitting home for the queen of new age.

9. She turned down working on Titanic

Director James Cameron wanted Enya to do the music for his 1997 film Titanic , but she turned him down because he wanted her to work with other musicians , which was not her preferred style. The movie, of course, went on to become one of the decade's biggest hits.

10. She's hinted that there may be new music on the way

While Enya hasn't released an album in almost 10 years, in 2023 she dropped a hint that she might make a comeback soon. When her compilation album A Box of Dreams was reissued, the liner notes featured the Irish phrase " Beidh muid ag teacht le chéile gan mhoile ," which means "We will meet again soon."
