The Fortnite Rift Tour has been a huge success so far and many factors play a part in this, including the setlist that acts as the soundtrack for the event.

If you attended the event and thought 'I know that song', we're here to help you out with the artist and title. Naturally, for those who haven't attended the Rift Tour, there will be no major spoilers here for the event itself, just the setlist of songs used.

Fortnite Rift Tour Setlist

The Rift Tour setlist is comprised of eight total songs , five of which are performed by Ariana Grande . The other songs accompany the lead up to the event and we're including them as well because it's all recognised as part of the Rift Tour.

Following the premiere “Rift Tour” event Friday, Ariana Grande has shared the full “performance” that she staged within the popular gaming app Fortnite .

The Rift Tour featured the Grande avatar singing a handful of her hits — “Raindrops,” “7 Rings,” “Be Alright,” “R.E.M.,” “The Way,” and “Positions” — plus songs by Wolfmother, LSD (Labrinth, Sia and Diplo), and Juice WRLD and Marshmello’s “Come & Go.”

According to GameSpot — which uploaded the entire 14-minute event — the unique “musical experience” took gamers on a series of vibrant adventures, including snowboarding through liquid pink-and-turquoise clouds, battling a giant monster while aboard small aircrafts, a Flaming Lips-esque bubble concert in the sky and, for “Positions,” a Grande performance in the stars

Grande follows on from Travis Scott, J Balvin , and Dominic Fike in hosting a concert for the online game. Notably, Scott’s nine-minute performance broke Fortnite’s streaming records and grossed roughly $20 million including merchandise sales.

During July, Ariana Grande released another video in her ongoing series with VEVO . She recruited The Weeknd for an exhilarating performance of their collaborative track “off the table.” The track is from her 2020 smash, Positions .

Grande’s most recent album, Positions was originally released on October 30, 2020 and peaked at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on November 13. Spending 15 weeks in the top spot, the album was an international success, topping the charts in Argentina, Canada, Ireland, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, and the United Kingdom. Since Grande debuted in 2008, the singer has gone from strength to strength with her music receiving numerous accolades and awards, in 2020 Billboard named her the greatest pop star of 2019.

Earlier this year, Grande answered the prayers of fans and released the deluxe edition of her latest album Positions which includes four previously unheard tracks to get fans through 2021. In total, the expanded album featured five new additions to add to her successful sixth studio album. This includes the “Someone Like U” interlude followed by “Test Drive,” the “34+35 remix” featuring Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as “Worst Behavior,” with “Main Thing” bringing the album to a close.

Ariana Grande is twirling atop a marble column in the clouds, in a dress made of shards of mirrored glass, wielding an enormous silver mallet with a diamond as its hammer.

It’s not the real-life Grande, or some bizarre dream, but her avatar performing virtually in Fortnite , the free-to-play online video game with 350 million registered global users that has become known for its in-game music experiences with artists like Marshmello, Travis Scott and J Balvin. Billed as the next iteration of Scott’s “Astronomical” in-game event in April 2020 — which drew 27 million global unique players across five airings — Grande’s appearance kicks off the game’s so-called Rift Tour series, hosting an in-game virtual concert that will air five times over the course of this weekend.

Over the past several years, the music industry has opened its eyes to gaming as a new way to connect with fans and drive revenue. In-game performances offer multiple revenue streams to artists, from up-front payments to virtual goods and a streaming spike for the artist’s music that tends to follow an in-game show.

Compared to “Astronomical,” Grande’s performance is less visually chaotic, with fewer scene changes, and has an expanded focus on the player experience. In Grande’s world — which looks like if the Lisa Frank brand were an entire planet — players aren’t just watching the show, but actively participating in it, a key element that will be part of future experiences, according to Phil Rampulla , head of brand at Epic Games, Fortnite ‘s parent company.

“You’ll see on this one that there’s a little bit more control if you want it,” Rampulla tells  Billboard . “You can go on autopilot and chill out and just take it all in and enjoy the ride. Or you can squad up with friends and really try to unlock things and compete.”

Artist performances within Fortnite have only gotten bigger and better since the game’s first-ever concert with Marshmello in February 2019, which attracted 10.7 million concurrent players. And with a Lady Gaga performance rumored to be coming soon, Epic Games is getting faster at putting together these shows. While Scott’s took over a year to come together, a representative for Epic said that Grande’s took six to nine months, with Rampulla describing it as a “very collaborative and iterative process.”

Game On: What Travis Scott is Teaching Music Stars About the World’s Biggest New (Virtual)…

During the roughly 10-minute experience, players bounce atop hot pink beds of plants as if they were trampolines, fly inside glistening bubbles in the sky as Grande sways in a swing held up by clouds and follow Grande up marble staircases that turn upside-down the higher you go. The flipped view references Grande’s upside-down album covers for Thank U, Next and Sweetener , which the pop star has said symbolized her emotional state at the time, and it’s just one of several Easter eggs The Rift Tour leaves for super-fans — including a virtual version of Grande’s real-life pet pig, Piggy Smallz. Players will experience different effects during the show depending on their choice of avatar outfit or wrap (which changes the appearance of weapons and vehicles), encouraging them to go back for multiple showings.

“It’s hard to really think of anybody better at the moment,” Rampulla says of Grande. Unlike Travis Scott, Grande isn’t publicly involved in the video game community, making her an unorthodox choice for one of the world’s most popular games. “What we always look for in a partner is someone who’s willing to take some risks, someone who’s willing to try something new,” Rampulla says. “We reached out with some of the broad strokes of the ideas and she immediately jumped in and we just took off and the rest is history.” It likely doesn’t hurt that Ariana and Fortnite may benefit from introducing their fanbases to one another either.

At the time of “Astronomical,” an industry source told Billboard that Scott received a multimillion-dollar fee upfront, and that artist deals can also include a back-end bonus once the event reaches certain viewership metrics. That doesn’t include revenue from virtual goods that artists can sell Fortnite players in the form of skins (avatar outfits), gear (for fighting) and emotes (which lend the ability to act out expressions). Sold in Fortnite ’s virtual currency, “V-bucks,” Grande’s cosmetics set includes a skin for the equivalent of about $20; a diamond gavel for about $8; a glider for about $12; and a ride-able unicorn for about $5. Players can also purchase a bundle of all these items for about $28. Those purchases add up, but Epic Games declined to reveal how compensation has been handled for Grande.

In the final few minutes of the show, Grande sings “Positions” while floating above ice before smashing it with her giant gavel, sending the artist and the audience back up into the clouds. In the aftermath of the explosion, players hover in the air among rainbows, watching fireworks explode in the surrounding air. Musically, the experience plays like a greatest hits collection, featuring tracks like “Positions,” “REM” and 2013 Mac Miller collaboration “The Way.”

Fortnite was quick to release viewership numbers after the Travis Scott show, but Rampulla wouldn’t commit to releasing numbers around Grande’s weekend in Fortnite . With massive superstars jumping at the opportunity to work with Epic Games, and potentially expand their user base, it doesn’t seem like Fortnite will move away from working with artists anytime soon.

Ariana Grande Teams With ‘Fortnite’ for ‘Rift Tour’ Event

Ariana Grande is set to enter the realm of the popular video game Fortnite with an upcoming event called “Rift Tour.”

The singer shared a promo for the mysterious “musical experience,” which will also allow gamers to use Grande as a playable character.

“From August 6-8, take a musical journey into magical new realities where Fortnite and Ariana Grande collide,” Epic Games announced Sunday.

While details of the Rift Tour have not fully been revealed, Polygon speculates it could be an in-game concert event similar to the “Astronomical” show Travis Scott staged within Fortnite in April 2020. (Polygon adds that documents uncovered in Epic Games’ ongoing legal battle with Apple revealed that both Grande and Lady Gaga had been recruited to perform within the game last year.) J. Balvin and Kaskade have also delivered concerts inside Fortnite ‘s virtual venue.

It’s time to watch Ari make it rain.

Fortnite is about to host its Rift Tour event , which promises to be the single biggest concert Epic ’s massively popular Battle Royale has ever seen. This time the star of the show is global pop phenomenon Ariana Grande .

We want to make sure you’re fully prepared for her legendary set as soon as she takes the virtual stage. Below, we outline all you need to know about the concert including its start dates and times, and instructions to watch everything as it happens.

What are the start times and dates for the Ariana Grande concert in Fortnite ?

Epic will host the show at multiple dates and times between August 6 and August 9. Here’s the full schedule of concert times worth being aware of.

Here are the start dates and times for the Ariana Grande Rift Tour concert.

• The Americas: August 6 at 6 p.m. Eastern
• Global: August 7 at 2 p.m. Eastern
• Asia-Oceania: August 8 a 12 a.m. Eastern
• Europe-Middle East: August 8 at 10 a.m. Eastern
• The Americas: August 8 at 6 p.m. Eastern

As you can see, most of the start times are separated by region, with three possible opportunities for Fortnite fans in America to catch a broadcast of the show. It is possible to watch the concert during any of the other regional start times, however, by switching your server region to the one listed next to the time you wish to watch. To change your server region, open the settings menu from the Battle Royale lobby. Its icon looks like a gear. From there, scroll over to the “Game” tab, and change your matchmaking region to the one you wish to use.

It should be noted that opting to change your server region may result in a more laggy Rift Tour experience, so we wouldn’t necessarily recommend doing so unless you absolutely have to.

How to watch the Ariana Grande Rift Tour concert in Fortnite

To watch the Rift Tour concert at your chosen time, load up Fornite with its latest update installed about 60 minutes before the concert is expected to start. About 30 minutes before the show, a special Rift Tour playlist will become available for fans to join. Join that queue to secure your spot for the concert.

What to expect from the Rift Tour

Simply put, the Rift Tour is likely to be a short maedly of Grande’s greatest hits set to an entirely bespoke backdrop made for the Fortnite universe. With no physical boundaries to hold her down, fans can expect Ariana to appear larger and more unique than she ever has. The fact that her titular skin style refers to the celebrity as a goddess should be evidence enough of that.

The concert is expected to be about 15 minutes long as well, so viewers shouldn’t head into the Rift Tour looking for a full 90-minute set list. Instead, what you’ll likely see here is probably a lot closer to a SuperBowl halftime show than anything else. The concert will presumably be a short mashup of songs like “7 Rings,” “Thank U, Next,” and “Side to Side.”

Ariana Grande Headlines Fortnite Rift Tour To Kick Off In-Game Weekend Music Festival

Epic Games is hosting an in-game music festival later this weekend called the Fortnite Rift Tour and to kick off, the company has announced that pop star Ariana Grande will be headlining the upcoming event. The Grammy-winning artist will be joining millions of battle royale fans worldwide for a musical experiences Epic promises players won't be able to forget. 

The Rift Tour will run from August 6 through August 8 and will feature popular tracks mixed with elements of the game, not unlike previous Fortnite-centered concerts in the past . With the pop star's musical contribution also comes a few themed cosmetics, such as the Ariana Grande outfit and the Piggy Smalls Backbling.

“Working with Epic and the Fortnite team to bring my music to life inside the game has been so fun and such an honor,” says Grande about her upcoming digital performance. “I can’t wait to join my fans and see all of your reactions to such an unforgettable, magical journey to new realities.”

Players will be able to enjoy what the Rift Tour will have to offer for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Android. iOS users will not be able to participate due to the ongoing Epic Games vs. Apple lawsuit .

The Rift playlist will begin 30 minutes before the show goes livelater this weekend, though Epic Games promises more info about the upcoming Fortnite event later this week.

Photos from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Paris show reveal new Tortured Poets Department outfits

Taylor Swift's two-year world tour has resumed after the release of her new album Tortured Poets Department, with the European leg kicking off in Paris. 

Swift's Eras Tour began in March last year, with dozens and dozens of shows since then. 

Given it has been going on for so long, fans have compiled comprehensive information about set list and costumes for the tour.

There are slight variations at her shows, with some slots in her set list for what fans have dubbed "surprise songs".

And she's worn various iterations of the same costume. 

However, generally speaking, the shows have been pretty much the same each time.  

But, because this was her first show since Tortured Poets Department, there was much speculation about how different it would be from previous shows . 

So there was a lot of focus on Thursday night's show in the La Defense Arena in the French capital. 

New outfits 

Swift wore a white dress with lyrics to Tortured Poets Department songs on it, with the structured fabric looking like pages of paper. 

She incorporated an on-stage costume change into her act.

Swift took off the white dress to reveal a sparkly black two-piece, throwing a gold jacket over the top. 

We'd not seen that on stage before. 

But there were also changes to regular costumes — including the colours in the Lover bodysuit and the slogan on the T-shirt she wears while singing the song 22. 

Previous iterations of that shirt had said "WHO'S TAYLOR SWIFT ANYWAY? EW." and "WE ARE NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER LIKE EVER". 

New set list

We didn't have an ABC reporter on the ground in Paris to compare the set list to her Australian shows. 

So for news on this front we went to a social media account run by an anonymous Taylor Swift fan for updates. 

That may sound fraught, but @tswifterastour has become the authoritative — albeit unofficial — voice on all things Eras Tour, with more than half a million followers. ( Cosmopolitan did a great interview with the person behind this account, if you're interested .)

It's the account behind that "seemingly ranch" tweet that went viral last year, if that means anything to you.

Then we cross-referenced that with a report from the BBC .

2024 Wells Fargo Championship prize money payouts for each PGA Tour player

It pays to play well on the PGA Tour. Just ask this week’s winner, Rory McIlroy .

The 35-year-old won the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club on Sunday at 17 under by five shots to secure his 26th win on the PGA Tour after a blistering final-round performance. McIlroy shot a 6-under 66 and played Nos. 8-15 at 8 under with a pair of eagles.

For his efforts, McIlroy will take home the top prize of $3.6 million, while 54-hole leader Xander Schauffele will bank $2.16 million for finishing runner-up. Even Ben An in third place cleared seven figures with a $1.36 million payday.

“ The Chicken Sisters ,” the bestselling 2020 novel by KJ Dell’Antonia and a Reese’s Book Club selection, is being adapted into a new original television series at Hallmark, Variety can exclusively announce.

Annie Mebane is set as both executive producer and showrunner of the eight-episode series, in production now and set to air later this year. The cast includes Schuyler Fisk, Genevieve Angelson, Lea Thompson and Wendie Malick.

The Hallmark Channel currently has two series on the air with “ When Calls the Heart ,” currently in its 10th season, and “ The Way Home ,” which is about to begin production on Season 3.

Richie Sambora Reveals He Would 'Without a Doubt Go Back' to Bon Jovi — on One Condition

Richie Sambora hasn’t shut the door on a possible Bon Jovi reunion.

The musician, 64, revealed in a sneak peek of a new episode of The Allison Hagendorf Show that he is open to playing with the band he famously and abruptly left in 2013 — so long as

“If he gets [his voice] back, I’ll go play. I got songs,” Sambora told Hagendorf of frontman Jon Bon Jovi, who underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022. “I swear to God. It’s the honest-to-God truth… I told everybody that I would without a doubt go back. The world needs it… We need hope.”

Though Sambora admitted that he’s only “casually” in touch with other members of the band “because there’s a bit of a rift” between them, he admitted that playing with Bon Jovi again would mean everything to his fans.

“The fans will just love it. It’s not finance, it has nothing to do with. The world could use it,” he said on the show, which is co-produced by Danny Wimmer Presents and premieres Wednesday, May 8. “But as Jon said, he’s been having problems with his voice, and now he had that operation… It’s an iffy thing at best. I don’t know if there’s anybody that has ever had that be successful. I’m not really sure about that. And I went to his house, and we talked about it.”

The rocker says he told his former bandmate that he would “definitely” perform with him once more if everything healed well, and says that his recent single “I Pray” was originally “earmarked” for the band for Sambora and Bon Jovi to sing as a duet.

Bon Jovi, 62, first began experiencing issues with his vocal cords around 2015 and eventually had a surgery to alleviate loose vocal cords that were causing problems in June 2022. (The frontman, who will release the band's 16th album Forever in June, recently told PEOPLE that " every day is the recovery process ," adding: “I’m capable of singing. What I’m not necessarily capable of is two and a half hours a night, four nights a week, but I’m aspiring to get that back.”)

The legendary group’s history has made headlines in recent weeks thanks to the Hulu docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story , which premiered last month. Over several episodes, the series explores the band’s rise to fame and its major successes — as well as Sambora’s abrupt 2013 departure and its aftermath .

"It's his project, and it's his perspective. I have a different perspective on all of that,” Sambora recently told PEOPLE of the docuseries.

In his interview with Hagendorf, Sambora said he “didn’t agree with everything in that documentary,” and felt that the band’s setbacks “didn’t deserve to be mounted on me so hard.”

In 2013, the Bon Jovi band mates were returning from a break during the start of a world tour when Sambora was a no-show — and never rejoined the tour or the band.

“We were all shocked,” Bon Jovi recently told PEOPLE. “It was a show that night … and he just didn't show up. And then the next night, and then the next night … We had 120 people on the road, 80 other shows to do. So the train kept going.”

Looking back, “it was the end of a chapter for the band,” Bon Jovi added at the time. “Difficult, but, you know, life goes on.” 

Bon Jovi previously revealed to PEOPLE that ahead of the docuseries premiere that he and Sambora watched some of it together.

"He came over and watched three parts of the docuseries at my house," he told PEOPLE last month , adding, "There's never animosity."

The singer also shared that "there was nothing but love" when Sambora left the band to focus on raising his daughter Ava, now 26, amid his divorce from ex Heather Locklear.

"There was never a fight," the singer said. "Ultimately being in a rock band is not a life sentence. He had to deal with his other issues."

Sambora also opened up about Ava being one of the main reasons he decided to leave the band in the docuseries, saying they "didn't have enough time."

“She needed me, and I needed her. Truthfully," he said.

What to Know About Xi Jinping’s Trip to Europe

The Chinese president this week will be visiting France, Serbia and Hungary. His trip comes at a time of tensions with many European countries over trade and accusations of Chinese espionage.

This week, for the first time in five years, President Xi Jinping of China is visiting Europe, with stops in France, Serbia and Hungary.

Mr. Xi’s trip comes at a time of tensions with many European countries over China’s support for Russia in the face of its war in Ukraine, its trade practices and its apparent espionage activities . The trip will also test Europe’s delicate balancing act between China and the United States.

Mr. Xi hopes to head off a trade war with the European Union as frictions rise over exports of Chinese electric vehicles and diminished market access for European companies in China. Mr. Xi will also encourage President Emmanuel Macron of France to pursue greater autonomy from the United States in a bid to weaken Washington’s global dominance.

Here is what we know about Mr. Xi’s trip, which began Sunday.

What is the significance of Mr. Xi’s itinerary?

The three countries Mr. Xi will be visiting, experts say , to varying degrees embrace China’s push for a redefined global order. All have to some extent questioned America’s postwar ordering of the world, and are eager to bolster ties with Beijing.

Hungary has close ties to China and is keen to attract Chinese investments in areas like electric car and battery manufacturing as Chinese producers expand beyond Asia. Serbia, too, has warm relations with Beijing and has secured billions of dollars in Chinese investment.

Mr. Xi’s first stop is France, where Mr. Macron recently said that Europe “must never be a vassal of the United States,” and has cast France as a bridge between the “Global South” and Western powers.

Despite his courting of Beijing, Mr. Macron has said he is still closer to its ally, the United States, than to China.

“I prefer to choose my relationship with the United States, with China, rather than have it imposed on me by one of the two parties, either pushing me in one direction or pulling me in the other,” he said in an interview with The Economist magazine. But, he added: “Very clearly, we are not equidistant. We are allies of the Americans.”

Before Mr. Xi’s visit, Chinese diplomats expressed hopes that ties between France and China would be at the forefront of China’s relations with the West .

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, the E.U.’s executive branch, joined talks on Monday with Mr. Xi and Mr. Macron in Paris.

This year is also a symbolic one for China and the three countries.

It is the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France and the 75th of those with Hungary.

This year is also the 25th anniversary of the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, during the Kosovo war, which killed three Chinese journalists and set off angry protests at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. Chinese authorities have continued to point to the bombing as a sign of NATO aggression and an example of why Russia was justified in feeling threatened before it decided to invade Ukraine.

When was the last time Mr. Xi visited Europe?

Mr. Xi’s last European visit was in 2019, before the coronavirus pandemic, which he spent hunkered down in China, leaving the country’s borders for the first time in the fall of 2022 .

The 2019 trip included a flashy ceremony in Rome to celebrate Italy’s participation in China’s Belt and Road global infrastructure project, which is aimed at expanding China’s influence abroad. France rolled out the red carpet for Mr. Xi in Paris and signed more than a dozen commercial and governmental treaties worth billions of euros, even as Mr. Macron warned that “China plays on our divisions” and that “the period of European naïveté is over.”

Mr. Xi also visited Greece , where he pledged his support to the country in its struggle with Britain to obtain the Parthenon sculptures known as the Elgin Marbles .

How is the relationship between Europe and China?

Since Mr. Xi’s last visit, there has been a widening rift in the relationship between China and much of Europe. The coronavirus pandemic , Beijing’s embrace of Russia and its repression of ethnic minorities, and a surge in Chinese exports have generated backlashes against China in many European countries.

China has quintupled car shipments to foreign markets in recent years, and the European Union has recently adopted a more confrontational tone over China’s trade practices. E.U. authorities have opened an investigation that could result in limits on Chinese solar exports, and have taken preliminary steps toward restricting trade with Chinese goods that include electric cars, wind turbines and medical devices.

Italy has also told China that it would no longer participate in its Belt and Road Initiative, and last month, six people in Europe were charged with spying for China in the span of a week, in a sign that European countries are stepping up their response to Chinese espionage.

At the same time, European nations vary in their views on how to engage with Beijing and benefit from economic opportunities there, and some are fearful of any imposition of European tariffs.

Mr. Macron and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany also think that China’s leverage will be critical in bringing an end to the war in Ukraine.
