Transfer from Valsad to Delhi Airport ( Air/ Train Fare Extra)   & proceed to Haridwar, on arrival check in to the hotel after refreshment visit Mansa Devi temple, chandi devi temple and evening Ganga aarti at famous ghat Har Ki Pori after visit back to the hotel and dinner overnight stay in hotel.

After breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Barkot via visit Kempty Fall and other sightseeing. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Barkot.

After breakfast drive to Janki Chatti by car and from Janki Chatti start 5.6 km trek for Yamunotri Temple by Poni /Ghori/Potter (at own cost). After darshan get back to Janki Chatti by trek and drive to hotel by car. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Morning after breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Uttarkashi via covering Vishwanath Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Later, check-in at the Hotel. Rest day at leisure. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi. Uttarkashi: Situated at the bank of river Bhagirathi. The temple of Lord Vishwanath is located here where a massive iron trident is erected.

After Breakfast proceed to Gangotri (3048 mts), enroute enjoy picturesque Harsil village, Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas. After Gangotri Darshan by trek return to Uttarkashi. Overnight stay in Uttarkashi. Gangotri Temple: The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century, is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi. Submerged Shivling: Submerged in the river, this natural rock Shivling is the place where according to mythology Lord Shiva sat when he received the Ganga in his matted lock. It is visible in winter months when water level decreases. Kedar Ganga Sangam: Around 100 Yards from the Ganga Temple flows the river Kedar Ganga. Starting from the Kedar Valle, this river meets the Bhagirathi on its left bank.

After Breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive straight to Guptkashi. On arrival, check-in at the hotel take rest. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

After breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag by car, from Sonprayag drive to Gaurikund by local transport. Trek starting from Gaurikund to Kedarnath 22 Kms (By poni, Doli, By Gorhi at own cost). Late evening arrival in Kedarnath. If Kedarnath darshan by Helicopter (Fly from Guptakashi/Phata Helipad to Kedarnath - at additional cost). On arrival check in to the hotel. Night halt in Kedarnath)

Early morning visit to Kedarnath Temple and transfer from Kedarnath to Guptakashi via Trek / Or Helicopter Service. Check in to the hotel. Overnight stay in Guptakashi.

After Breakfast leave for Badrinath via Joshimath. Check-in Hotel. Later at evening visit Badrinath Temple for Aarti. Overnight stay in Badrinath:- Cradled in the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holies of the four main shrines-Badrinath along the left bank of Alaknanda with the towering Neelkanth peak as the splendid backdrop. Once the spot was carpeted eith "Badri" or wild berries and hence was famous as Badrivan.

Early morning, pilgrims after bath in the Taptkund and later have Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). Later, drive back to Rudraprayag, on arrival, check-in at the Hotel. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Haridwar enroute visit Rishikesh Sightseeing (Ram Jhula, Parmarth Niketan and local market). Late evening arrival in Haridwar. Check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar.

• There is no deluxe facilities in Kedarnathji due to high altitude. There only serve you bed system.
• As per the directive given by the Government of India, all Indian/Foreign Nationals are required to provide proper proof of identification upon check-in. valid identifications documents are: Passport & Visa together, Voters Id card, Current Drivers License, Aadhar Card. All the documents must include a photograph.
• Hotel / camps or any kind of accommodation can deny stay if valid id proof is not provided. Company is not responsible for any ID proof related issues.
• Generally hotel check in time is 14:00 hrs and checkout time is 11:00 hrs across India. Confirm early check in or late checkout will be chargeable if not included in cost. Kindly contact hotel directly if you want complimentary early check in or late check out.
• If meals are included in package it will be served at set menu basis in a buffet menu / fixed / meal credit. Any items which are not in their in ideal Buffet / Fixed menu will be charged extra at the time of consumption. Hotels decide the menu and options of items for menu. Some hotelshaving Meal credit policy instead of Buffet or Fixed Menu during low occupancy in hotel � This meal credit amount is decided by hotel management � if bills goes above the given meal credit amount then extra amount should be paid directly at respective hotel. Room service for the food or packing is charged extra at many hotels. Normally in Chardham you will get north Indian type food only and most of the standard and deluxe hotels give thali if meals are included in package.
• Breakfast Timing: 07:00 Am to 09:00 AM And Dinner: 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM (About the timing you can contact hotel management before.)
• Normally for extra bed on double sharing rooms many hotels has rollaway bed while rest of the hotels provide extra mattress only. If you are not comfortable with mattress system instead of bed let us know in advance.
• In hill areas or Chardham many hotels don't have ac so if you insist ac only kindly confirm with the company regarding the same. Lift facility & power back up is not available in most of the hotels in Chardham. Wifi facility and room heater is mostly chargeable but don't expect good wifi in Chardham hotels due to network issues most of the time.
• Most of the hotels in Chardham are not running full year so don't expect similar service and room quality like you get in HaridwarRishikesh in the same price range. Especially in may june and other busy days the budget/standard hotels in Chardham can cost more than deluxe hotel in HaridwarRishikesh or Delhi. Also if you want to stay good hotels with good reviews you need to book at least 3 months before in may June and 1-2 month before in Oct Nov season as good hotels are mostly booked in advance by groups. In Kedarnath there is only basic dharamshala / budget hotel type basic facility only even if your package is luxury in Kedarnath don't expect even deluxe rooms.

About Helicopter in Kedarnath:

• Valid identification is required as well as biometric registration.
• There are 3 different helipad locations (Phata, Sirsi and Agatsya Muni) and ticket will be booked according to availability. If your hotel is far from helipad you need to start early to reach on time. If you prefer particular helipad only kindly contact company before making payment.
• If the helicopters are not flying for any reason like weather or other reason we will be not responsible. You will get your money for helicopter ticket cost refund but date change will be difficult for us. In case of cancelation of flight for the day due to any reason, the current day passenger will be given priority over previous day passenger. Previous passengers may be accommodated subject to availability of seats; else full fare will be refunded. No extra refund for meals / accommodation / transport will be provided only helicopter ticket cost will be refund.
• Aerial photography from helicopter is prohibited.
• Reporting time for Helicopter is as per the aviation company information on ticket and we will be not able to change it and if you don�t reach on reporting time no refund is possible. All passengers should report at the given reporting time, the boarding may take place any time after that depending on traffic and flight schedule. Boarding time can take 2 hrs also after reporting but guest must reach on time according reporting time.
• The same day return passengers will get only 2 hrs for darshan at KedarnathJiDham. Priority Darshan passes (VIP tickets) for Kedarnath temple for same day passenger will be charged as per rates decided by Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC). Approx 1100 to RS 2500 Per Person. That amount you have to pay as per crowd & committee instruction at the helipad.
• Seating of the passengers will be depending on the helicopter load carriage and guests may have to be divided in separate flights.
• Two way passengers will have priority over one way passengers.
• Night halt passengers will be booked for 1400 hrs onwards flights only. Reporting time at Kedarnath helipad, next day for return flights, will be 0600 hrs. Night halt passengers will be allowed to stay at Kedarnath after the declaration by Govt. of Uttarakhand.
• Passenger weight more than 80 kg have to pay additional Rs 150/kg for additional weight. Weight will be calculated individually and will not be offset with another passenger.
• Passengers are entitled only one piece of baggage weighing not more than 2 kilograms, any additional piece of baggage will not be allowed.
• Children above 2 years of age will be provided with a seat and will be charged full fare. For infants less than two years is free and no seat will be provided to the infants.
• Aviation company liability in case of any injury death or damage or lost of property etc will depend on civil aviation rules and regulations (Carriage by air act as per the latest rules). All disputes regarding this should be between particular aviation services Provider Company and guest directly and Divine Uttarakhand will be not liable.

Faced Issues during the Uttarakhand trip !

We recently completed a 12 Days trip to Uttarakhand. The exeperience was mixed, had to change the room in Mussoorie hotel Green N Breeze as the size was vey small and our family could hardly fit in and faced issues regarding going to Lal Tibba and Landour as the taxi we hired from the company refused to go there citing the local txi union issues and we have to pay INR 2000 from our pocket.The Jim Corbett safari was average as there was no tiger spooting though our driver Nandan tried his best to take us around the different spots where we could spot one.We again faced the challenge during the room changing in Hotel Ashdale Nainital as the room allocated was facing the back wall of the garden and in the process wasted our precious 4-5 hrs. All Seasons helpdesk persons Ravi & Saurabh and tried their best to resolve all the issues we faced but in the whole process we wasted the significant amount of time during our trip.

Tour itinerary, day 1 haridwar – barkot.

Morning meet our representative at your Hotel / Airport / Railway Station. After some basic information start your journey to   Barkot . Later drive to Barkot . Check into the hotel arrival in Barkot.   Overnight stay at Barkot .   (Meals: Dinner)

Day 2 Barkot - Janakichatti - Yamunotri - Jankichatti - Barkot

Early morning after breakfast, drive to   Jankichatti   / Phoolchatti. Start your trek from here to   Yamunotri   (6kms) ( Either by walk or by horse or by Doli at own cost ). After arrival at   Yamunotri   take bath in warm waters of   Surya Kund (Hot Spring) . Enjoy Darshan of"Yamunaji". Return trek to   Jankichatti . Later drive towards   Barkot . Overnight   stay at Barkot .   (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 3 Barkot – Uttarkashi

Morning after breakfast, relax for a while. Later drive to   Uttarkashi . Visit Shivgufa on the way to Uttarkashi. In   Uttarkashi   visit   Kashi Vishwanath Temple . After that, check in hotel. Day free for rest.   Overnight stay at Uttarkashi .   (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 4 Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100 kms each side)

Early morning after breakfast, drive to   Gangotri . On the way visit Gangnani Hot Spring. Take a holy dip in Kund. Later drive to   Gangotri   via beautiful Harsil valley. On arrival at Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja and Darshan, after that relax for some time in the lovely surroundings. Later return drive to  Uttarkashi . Overnight   stay at Uttarkashi .   (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 5 Uttarkashi – Guptkashi

Morning after breakfast, drive to   Guptkashi . Enroute you can see the beautiful   river Mandakini   at   Tilwara . The   Mandakini River   comes from   Kedarnath , drive alongside the river to reach   Guptakashi , visit Ardh Narishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Check into the hotel arrival in   Guptkashi . Overnight stay at Guptkashi.   (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 6 Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath

Morning after breakfast, today we will go to   Kedarnath . To reach Kedarnath you will have two options. One if by trekking and other is by Air via Helicopter ( at your own cost ).

Important Information: Please Read

By Helicopter:   Morning our driver will transfer you to your Helipad location ( Phata ,  Guptkashi ,  Sirsi  etc) as per helicopter ticket time. Kindly inform the driver timings of helicopter mentioned on the ticket previous day. Different aviation has different location for their helicopter service. Our driver will provide you both pick and drop to hotel . Kindly inform the driver timings of helicopter mentioned on the ticket. Advance booking is highly recommended for the helicopter.

By Trek:   To reach  Kedarnath  by trekking route first you have to reach  Gaurikund . We will drive to  Sonprayag  early in the morning after breakfast. Our car will drop to  Sonprayag . From  Sonprayag  5 kms drive to  Gaurikund  local jeep is available. This sharing basis jeeps guests can book directly at own cost.  Gaurikund  to  Kedarnath  is further 14 Kms trek .

After reaching the  Kedarnath visit Kedarnath Temple . Check in to the hotel/ashram. Visit Shankaracharya Samadhi. Overnight stay at Kedarnath. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 7 Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi

Morning after breakfast explore nearby areas by walk at Kedarnath. Later reach Guptkashi as per your choice by trek or Helicopter. 

By Helicopter:  Inform the driver when you leave for  Kedarnath  about your approximate return time and helipad name according to ticket. Our driver will pick up you from helipad and transfer you to your hotel.

By Trek:  Inform the driver approximate return time. Once you reach  Gaurikund  from  Kedarnath  by trek you can take local jeep till  Sonprayag . Our driver will meet here. Due to parking issue keep driver’s contact number with you and call him when you reach  sonprayag  so he can pick you up. 

Gaurikund  to  Sonprayag  local jeep at your own cost. Get packed breakfast from hotel to start early. Horse / Pony / Palakhi is also available for trekking at  Gaurikund.  Guests can book that at own cost.

At arrival check in to hotel in Guptkashi. Overnight stay at Guptkashi. (Meals: Dinner)

Day 8 Guptkashi – Joshimath – Badrinath

Morning after breakfast, drive to Badrinath . Check in to the hotel arrival in Badrinath. Pilgrims after having a bath in the Taptkund have the Darshan of Badrivishal & Aarti in evening. Overnight stay at Badrinath. (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 9 Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag

Morning enjoy the after breakfast, drive for   Rudraprayag   via Joshimath. Visit on the way Darshan of   VishuPrayag ,   Narsingh Temple in Joshimath ,   KarnPrayag   and   NandPrayag . Check into the hotel arrival in   Rudraprayag . Overnight stay at   Rudraprayag .   (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner)

Day 10 Rudraprayag – Rishikesh – Haridwar

Morning after breakfast, drive for   Haridwar   /   Dehradun   /   Rishikesh . Drop at Hotel / Airport / railway station.   (Meals: Breakfast)

Hotels terms & conditions.

• Please read emails carefully and understand the contents and prices. All the email conversations will be also part of your contract with us once you make the booking.
• There is no deluxe facilities in Kedarnathji due to high altitude. There only serve you bed system.
• As per the directive given by the Government of India, all Indian/Foreign Nationals are required to provide proper proof of identification upon check-in. valid identifications documents are: Passport & Visa together, Voters Id card, Current Drivers License, Aadhar Card. All the documents must include a photograph.
• Hotel / camps or any kind of accommodation can deny stay if valid id proof is not provided. Company is not responsible for any ID proof related issues.
• Generally hotel check in time is 14:00 hrs and checkout time is 11:00 hrs across India. Confirm early check in or late checkout will be chargeable if not included in cost. Kindly contact hotel directly if you want complimentary early check in or late check out.
• If meals are included in package it will be served at set menu basis in a buffet menu / fixed / meal credit. Any items which are not in their in ideal Buffet / Fixed menu will be charged extra at the time of consumption. Hotels decide the menu and options of items for menu. Some hotels having Meal credit policy instead of Buffet or
• Fixed Menu during low occupancy in hotel – This meal credit amount is decided by hotel management – if bills goes above the given meal credit amount then extra amount should be paid directly at respective hotel. Room service for the food or packing is charged extra at many hotels. Normally in Chardham you will get north
• Indian type food only and most of the standard and deluxe hotels give thali if meals are included in package.
• Breakfast Timing: 07:00 Am to 09:00 AM And Dinner: 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM (About the timing you can contact hotel management before.)
• Normally for extra bed on double sharing rooms many hotels has rollaway bed while rest of the hotels provide extra mattress only. If you are not comfortable with mattress system instead of bed let us know in advance.
• In hill areas or Chardham many hotels don’t have ac so if you insist ac only kindly confirm with the company regarding the same. Lift facility & power back up is not available in most of the hotels in Chardham. Wifi facility and room heater is mostly chargeable but don’t expect good wifi in Chardham hotels due to network issues most of the time.
• Most of the hotels in Chardham are not running full year so don’t expect similar service and room quality like you get in Haridwar-Rishikesh in the same price range. Especially in may June and other busy days the budget/standard hotels in Chardham can cost more than deluxe hotel in Haridwar-Rishikesh or Delhi. Also if you want to stay good hotels with good reviews you need to book at least 3 months before in may June and 1-2 month before in Oct Nov season as good hotels are mostly booked in advance by groups. In Kedarnath there is only basic dharamshala / budget hotel type basic facility only even if your package is luxury in Kedarnath don’t expect even deluxe rooms.

Vehicle Terms & Conditions:

• AC will not work in all hill areas or stopped / parked vehicle. Hill areas will start from Dehradun onwards as well from Rishikesh onwards and ac will not work beyond those points. If you want AC in the hills during road journey then the rates per vehicle A/C Per day at Hills are: Indigo/Dzire/Etios @ Rs 300 per day, Innova /Tavera/Bolero @ Rs 400 per day and Tempo 12 seater @ Rs 500 per day.
• Vehicle will be permitted to use for sightseeing points on the route and inside the city limits or which is mentioned in itinerary. For additional sightseeing, off route sightseeing, sightseeing not inside the city limits or substitute sightseeing kindly contact company. Refund is not possible if any particular sightseeing point is not covered. In case you want some excursions kindly inform company in advance or discuss these things with company rather than driver. All nearby sightseeing points should be covered together. However in case of sometime issues with some particular place we can adjust. In Chardham route some of the places are not on the way like Trijuginarayan , Lakhamandal , Auli , Kalimath , Neelkanth Mahadev , AdiBadri , Bhavishya Badri etc. Kindly contact directly to company in case you want to include these places rather than driver.
• Due to any reason if Vehicle breakdown due to technical reasons we will try our best to arrange another vehicle as soon as possible for the major problems. For minor problems which will not take much time vehicle will be repaired. Kindly cooperate.
• We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the program or expenses incurred directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, closures/blockades due to political unrest or any such incidents.
• In case the driver is not cooperative kindly contact company on the spot.
• Driver will not drive on No-entry zones and should not be forced to drive on narrow streets or roads which can create traffic jam. Normal working hours of driver is 12 hrs in case you want services more than 12 hours in a day kindly inform us in advance.
• In some hill area roads driving after sunset and music is not allowed due to risk of life. Kindly cooperate for the same.
• Pick up and drop point will be one only (If multiple pickups and drop please mentions email conversation before booking)
• In case you want multiple visit to the some particular place kindly mention in advance because some places are having very high charges of parking.
• Tour destination / route cannot change without prior notice (Amended route and tour Destination rates may be change)
• The rates are subject to change, depending on the fluctuation of diesel/Petrol prices in India. If the prices increased more than 5 % than the time of booking we will increase the rate even if the rates are confirmed earlier.
• Company reserves the right to give you a similar car if the car you booked is unavailable.
• At many of the tourist destination / hill station - some of the road / shopping market / mall road have "NO ENTRY" for all / some bigger tourist vehicles depends on destination along with time restrictions also. In this kind of situation guest have to manage another available mode of transport with an additional cost and on direct payment basis, this cost is not included in ideal package inclusion.
• Some time vehicle parking area little far from the sightseeing spots. Guests need to reach the parking at their own cost.
• No refund for short stay or unveiled facilities.
• No cancellation or any refund will be made if situation is beyond our control, such as bad weather, landslide, climatic conditions or any other natural disaster, fire, any embargo, acts or decisions of government, political or national crisis, road blocks, heavy snow fall, acts of terrorism or other similar causes, strikes or problems at airlines, rails, buses, hotels or transporters, labor unrest, insolvency, business exigencies, operational and technical issues, route and flight cancellations or due to which the customer could not reach the destination and which is beyond our control.
• Company is not responsible for any accident/injury/death/theft of person or property during the course of the tour.
• All rights reserved to management to cancel any service without any refund until full advance amount towards the service is received from the customer and accepted by company.
• Company Here by expressly disclaims any implied warranties imputed by the laws of any jurisdictions or country other than India. Company considers itself and intends to the jurisdictions only of the court of Haridwar, Uttarakhand India.

• Within 15 days of Arrival Date/ No Show: No Refund
• 15 Days to 30 Days prior to Arrival: 50% of the total package cost.
• 30 Days & More: 10% of package cost (and taxes are not refunded in any case)

The Chardham Yatra is considered of great significance for Hindus. Home to many temples and pilgrimage sites, the divine Char Dhams are situated in Uttarakhand . According to traditional mythologies, every Hindu should travel to Char Dham at least once during his lifetime. This is because of the belief that by repenting for a lifetime’s worth of sins, the Char Dham Yatra opens the doors to “Moksha.” 

For Hindus, Adi Shankaraya Charya was a vedic Scholar and teacher. He is praised and given credit for bringing Hinduism back to life. Hinduism’s Char Dham Yatra Pilgrimage circuit is one of the many pilgrimage sites he constructed. The Pilgrims are reminded of their illustrious past while in Char Dhams. It is said that after completing the Chardham Yatra, a pilgrim finds absolute tranquillity.

This Char Dham Yatra is noteworthy from both a spiritual and scientific point of view. The mountain air refreshes the soul and connects the pilgrims to nature. In addition, the challenging trip pushes one beyond his comfort zone.

Important Dates for Char Dham Yatra

Char Dham Yatra is only open for six months a year, starting in April/May and ending in October/November before heavy snowfall cuts off access to shrines.

On the holy day of Maha Shivratri, the Kedar-Badri Mandir Samiti discloses the specific dates for the opening and closure of the Char Dham Yatra. The dates are set after reviewing the sacred Hindu calendar, Panchang.

Best Time for Char Dham Yatra

The holy Yatra of 4 Dham can be done during the 6 months when the shrines are open for pilgrims. All the temples of the Char Dham are prone to extreme weather conditions due to their location. So, it becomes important for travellers to check the weather before going on a trip. 

The months of May and June are considered the Best time for Char Dham Yatra since the climate is favourable, with pleasant temperatures, neither too hot nor too cold for travel. After this, from July onwards, the monsoon onsets in Uttarakhand, making it inconvenient and difficult to travel to Char Dham during this period. 

After the monsoon’s departure, there is another good time for Char Dham Yatra in the pre-winter season, from the end of September to the middle of November. During this time, the valleys are in full bloom with thick and beautiful vegetation after a heavy monsoon making it an excellent time to embark on the Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand.

The holy Char Dham yatra usually begins from Haridwar, also known as the “Gateway to Gods,” which is well linked to all four sacred shrines. According to Hindu beliefs, the pilgrimage to the four temples is to be done clockwise from Yamunotri to Gangotri, then Kedarnath and Badrinath .

The pilgrimage will begin in Rishikesh , from which you will travel to Dharasu. Then after about an hour and a half of travel, you will reach your first destination, Yamunotri, in the Uttarkashi District.

Then, from Uttarkashi, travellers depart for Gangotri, the second Dham, which is at a distance of 100 km by road. Then, the next step is to travel from Uttarkashi to Rudraprayag and from Rudraprayag to Kedarnath, located at an elevation of 3586 meters.

The last Dham of the pilgrimage is the Badrinath Dham, which can be reached in about 5 hours from Rudraprayag. Our journey ends at the Lord Vishnu-dedicated shrine, which is located on the left bank of the Alaknanda River.

The Char Dham Yatra is a spiritual journey to four holy Hindu shrines in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal range. Furthermore, if you intend to visit Char Dham or Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand, you must first fulfill the Char Dham Yatra registration process.

The Uttarakhand government made registration for the Char Dham Yatra mandatory for all devotees.

Travel Tips for Char Dham Yatra

Uttarakhand’s Chota Char Dham Yatra is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage that has the power to rejuvenate and enlighten one’s mind and body. In India, the 4 Dham Yatra is extremely difficult because it consists of touring holy shrines via long, difficult treks if you are not taking the air route. 

Char Dham Pilgrimage has the most difficult holy voyage, but despite its difficult routes, pilgrims are drawn to cover the distances and have the opportunity to visit the sacred shrines.

But planning a pilgrimage tour like Char Dham in the Indian Himalayas can be difficult, especially when visiting from different parts of the world. Here are a few points that you should keep in mind while planning the 4 dham Yatra:-

• Check for the best time to visit and also check the weather forecast for char dham yatra beforehand to be prepared.
• Get your Registration done at Uttarakhand Govt. Char Dham Registration Portal before undertaking the pilgrimage.
• Always carry a first aid kit containing the basic emergency medicines you might need for diarrhoea, fever, band-aids, and an antiseptic ointment.
• Carry some warm, comfortable woollen clothes with you because the weather is always a bit cooler there due to the high altitude. 
• Carry only the necessary items. Avoid carrying extra luggage for smooth trip.
• It’s also a good idea to have a reliable cell-powered torch with extra batteries with you at all times, especially at night.
• If you travel by Bus or any other taxi vehicle, then make sure to keep the driver or conductor’s contact details for, in case you miss your luggage during the travel you can retrieve it.
• In case of any emergency or for police assistance, dial 108 or 112.
• One more thing, understand your requirements and decide whether you will self-manage your trip or seek a reputable and professional tour operator. They will organize and manage everything for your journeys, including accommodation, convenience, and other requirements throughout the Yatra.

How to plan your Char Dham Yatra?

Char Dham Yatra can be participated in between April to October . However, the temple authorities announce the starting and ending dates each year. The Char Dhams are reachable by air and road. You can choose between the two based on your preferences, time constraints, and finances.

This journey of the Chardham yatra takes at least 9–10 days if done by road. For the Chota Char Dham Yatra to begin, you must first travel to Haridwar. 

Below is your daywise route plan to Char dham yatra.

From Haridwar, you will travel roughly 222 kilometres to reach Barkot. From there, the last location to which a vehicle may travel is Janki Chatti, where you can stay at night.

You will start your hike of about 5 kilometres to reach Yamunotri temple, for which you can rent a horse or a palki. After visiting the Yamunotri Dham, you can return to Janki Chatti the same day.

For moving towards the next Dham in the circuit, i.e., Gangotri Dham, you must travel to Uttarkashi and then from here to Gangotri. You don’t need to walk because a vehicle can drive right up to this Dham. Approximately 130 Kilometres separate Uttarkashi from Gangotri Dham, and it takes 5 hours to get there.

On day 5 of your Char Dham yatra, you’ll visit the next Dham of the circuit, the Kedarnath Dham. You have to travel to Guptkashi from Gangotri, which is about 290 kilometers away. 

Guptkashi to Kedarnath is the most difficult leg of the journey because it requires an almost 15-kilometer hike. You should start your trek early in the morning to reach the temple premises by evening and spend your night there. Senior folks, children, and others who cannot walk can use palki services, ride horses, or even use a helicopter to get to Kedarnath. 

Next day, you can visit the holy shrine Kedarnath and start your trek back towards Guptkashi.

Then, from Guptkashi, the Badrinath shrine is at a distance of about 197 km by road. From this location, it takes roughly 6 hours to reach there. There are many stunning stops along the way, including Chopta, Gopeshwar, Pipalkoti, and Joshimath, which will never cease to amaze you.

Here comes the end of your pilgrimage: visiting the sacred temple Badrinath and starting your way back to Haridwar.

She has also mentioned that given the possibility of the unexpected arrival of devotees, it is being requested that VIP people should avoid travelling from May 10 to 25.

The correct sequence and the first stop of the Char Dham Yatra

Char Dham Yatra has great importance for the followers of the Hindu religion. The Char Dham located in Uttarakhand are Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. According to religious beliefs, Char Dham Yatra starts from Yamunotri. It is believed that if you start the journey from Yamunotri, your Chardham Yatra is completed without any hindrance. Amarnath yatra 2024: the amarnath cave is believed to be the abode of lord shiva and is also one of the 18 maha shakti peeths..

Amarnath Yatra is one of the most challenging Hindu pilgrimage sites in India. Each year, it attracts lakhs of devotees worldwide. People undertake this rigorous journey to seek blessings from the Ice Lingam situated at a height of 13,000 ft in the Kashmir Valley under the Amarnath Cave, which is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva and is also one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peeths.

Due to heavy snowfall and extremely bad weather throughout the year, devotees can access the cave only for 2 months, which are July and August. According to the Hindu calendar, the month of Shravan is when the cave becomes accessible, and the Ice Shivling is at its fullest. This trek, which has two routes, one via Pahalgam (45 km long route) and the second via Baltal (14 km shorter but steep route), witnesses devotees from 13 to 70 years of age walking with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Both routes will take you through beautiful snow-capped mountains and breathtaking views and will challenge you physically and mentally as well.

This year, the Amarnath Yatra will commence from June 29 and conclude on August 19. Pilgrims willing to embark on Amarnath Yatra this year must register themselves on the official website of Shree Amarnath Ji Shrine Board.

The Story Behind The Holy Shrine: 

According to the Tourism of India, there are a few beliefs that give devotees energy to reach the cave, crossing all the high mountains, flowing rivers, and steep terrains. It is believed that centuries ago, Maa Parvati asked Lord Shiva to let her know why and when he started wearing the beads of heads (Mund Mala), to which Bhole Shankar replied, "Whenever you are born, I add more heads to my bead". To this, Parvati replied, "I die again and again, but you are immortal. Please tell me the reason behind this." Bhole Shankar replied that for this, you will have to listen to the Amar Katha.

Shiv agreed to narrate the detailed story to Maa Parvati and started looking for an isolated place where no living being could listen to the immortal secret and ultimately chose this cave. In rush, he left Nandi at Pahalgam. At Chandanwari, he released Moon (Chand) from his hair (Jataon). At the banks of Lake Sheshnag, he released the snakes from his neck and Son Ganesha at Mahagunas Parvat. At Panjtarni, Shivji left the Five Elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky) behind which give birth to life. After leaving all these, Bhole Shankar entered the Holy Amarnath Cave along with Parvati Maa and took his Samadhi. To ensure that no living being is able to hear the Immortal Tale, he created Kalagni and ordered him to spread fire in order to eliminate every living thing in and around the holy cave. He then started narrating the secret of immortality to Maa Parvati. Upon concluding the story, Lord Shiva found that Goddess Parvati had fallen asleep and a parrot had been listening to it the entire while. The Lord became enraged at this and threw his Trishul to the parrot. To save its life, the parrot entered into the womb of a saint's wife and later became immortal.

The Holy Cave:

The Holy Shrine is managed by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which was constituted by an Act of the Jammu & Kashmir State Legislature in 2000. 

According to the Anantnag district website, the cave is quite large, with its entrance about forty yards horizontally and in height, it is about 75 feet, placing an ice lingam, of about five feet high, inside. There are two more smaller ice stalagmites which represent Maa Parvati and Lord Ganesha. The Hindu pilgrims believe that the height of the Lingam increases and decreases with the phases of the moon. In the month of Shravan, on the full moon in August, thousands of Hindus go on a pilgrimage up to the cave. At this time, the lingam is the highest.

Re-Discovery Of Holy Cave

For centuries, people have been paying visits to the cave, such as Swami Vivekananda, Swami Ramatirtha, and Swami Shankaracharya, the great saint who journeyed from south to have darshan of the ice lingam.

Although the existence of the Holy Cave has been mentioned in the Puranas, the widely accepted story about the rediscovery of this Holy Cave is of a shepherd, Buta Malik. According to the story, a saint gave Buta Malik a bag full of coal. Upon reaching his home when he opened the bag, to his utter surprise, the bag was full of gold coins. This overwhelmed him with joy, and he ran after the saint. However, after a few steps, the saint disappeared. Instead, the shepherd found The Holy Cave and the Ice Lingam inside, and since then, it became a sacred place of pilgrimage.

Digi Yatra plans to partner with top-tier Indian IT companies like Infosys, TCS: Report

Digi Yatra, the digital travel service launched by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, is planning to introduce some big changes after the foundation faced issues with its previous IT solutions provider called DataEvolve. The recent complication with the Indian start-up raised concerns among users as they were asked to reinstall the Digi Yatra app. The foundation is now planning to partner with top-tier Indian IT companies like Infosys and TCS, according to a report by Fortune India.

Digi Yatra was designed to streamline airport procedures through biometric technology. It quickly expanded to 14 major airports, with plans to include 14 more by the end of this month. The app had witnessed staggering growth before facing issues during the end of March. The Digi Yatra app users were suddenly unable to use the official app on their respective devices. At that instance, the app had registered around 19 million hits by 4.5 million individuals.

Without a prompt or any information from the official app, the users were left in a fix. However, the Digi Yatra foundation had introduced an all new app, making the previous version completely useless. This confusion led to a drop of users. According to the report, the app has witnessed a drop of over 50 per cent in daily users, down from 4.5 million to 2 million users a month. 

The issues regarding the selection of DataEvolve, the initial tech partner was assumed to be the reason for the major shift. However, Digi Yatra claimed that the shift to a new app was primarily because of domain change. 

Now, the Digi Yatra Foundation, led by CEO Suresh Khadaknbhavi, announced a strategic pivot toward collaboration with established IT giants. In the report, Khadaknbhavi is quoted saying, “We are now handling it internally. In the longer run, we plan to have a Tier 1 or Tier 2 IT partner like Infosys, or TCS. The RFP is in process. Currently, on Apple and Android, we are getting 45,000 users every day, and are reaching two million (we were at 4.5 million). We expect to reach the old numbers very soon."

Khadaknbhavi also emphasised the foundation’s commitment to user privacy, asserting that no personal travel history is stored, in line with the principles of privacy by design and self-sovereign identity.

Digi Yatra also aims to expand its services internationally, facilitating smoother travel experiences through partnerships with global immigration authorities. Khadaknbhavi also claims that the foundation is enhancing user engagement through media partnerships and educational campaigns to rebuild confidence and inform travelers about the benefits and safety features of the app.
