Lack of support

I dislocated my shoulder very early on in in the trip. I asked NUCO for help with taking bags to the coach on the way back home (since the coach is a 15 min walk in the ice at 6am - dangerous for normal people let alone someone with an injury), but was told that everyone would be busy at that time (at 6am? busy doing what?). My room rep was good and did his best to ask but was the same answer. When asking for other support measures eg getting on the bus to pool party or closing party etc (was literally just asking that they help me onto the bus ahead of the crowd so I don't get knocked over or into my shoulder), they said they couldn't help? Like what is the issue with getting me onto a bus when they are stood RIGHT THERE? not even asking them to go anywhere just help me up. This attitude on several occasions of the trip reduced me to tears as I felt extremely unsupported by people that I was supposed to ask for help from. Once I literally asked a NUCO rep where the bus stop is, and he responded to say he doesn't know french so he cant tell me, which I find to be a shoddy and rude excuse considering they work there and I'm stood at 1am in the freezing cold with an injury. The people on the chat were helpful and answered all my questions, just the staff in Tignes I found to be unsupportive and quite frankly not sure if they were even sober sometimes when I tried to speak with them. I understand that they are there to enjoy themselves too but when a client is seeking help and support I expected more.

Being injured is never enjoyable, but it is especially difficult whilst you're on holiday. It's disappointing that you felt unsupported by some of the resort staff during your trip. Whilst our reps' primary role in resort is to support our passengers, there are times, such as during departures (including at 6 am) when reps will have specific responsibilities to carry out, meaning they aren't always available to provide direct assistance to individual passengers. That being said, we still expect all reps to be courteous to our passengers, providing guidance and information throughout your holiday. Greece armada 2023

Excellent Customer Service

My university booked the ski trip with NUCO, but unfortunately the trip couldn't go ahead with COVID-19 restrictions but they handled the booking so professionally, managing expectations, delivering prompt full refunds and putting us first at every opportunity. We will certainly be re-booking next year with NUCO as they have proven they are reliable even in the most uncertain circumstances. Thank you guys so much!

Shocked and appalled

We had Nucotravel “help” us arrange our business school ski trip. It’s only my first day and already it has been a fiasco. First there were different room groups who were given keys to the same room, so they had people walking in on them while they slept. Secondly, I was asked to share a tiny sofa bed with my friend (it was meant to be for kids - I like my friend, but come on!), even though I had paid full price for accommodation. The least I expect is somewhere to sleep. I had to get my own separate room at additional expense. Thirdly, they booked ski rental equipment for people that only allowed a 30Min slot at 8.00-8.30am for people to pick up stuff (seriously!?). In sum, this is Fyre festival 2.0 - ice edition.

Afternoon Ray, We are sorry to see you were unhappy with the service provided, you submitted your review on the first day of your holiday, I hope the rest of your week went well and you enjoyed the events and all that the resort had to offer. I'm not able to see your booking so I can't comment on the apartment keys I'm afraid, but I would like to apologise if there was a mix up with apartment keys for any passenger/s and I hope our team in resort were able to resolve this straight away. All accommodation booked for our group trips will be for adults, these can and do include, single and double beds, sofa beds, trunk beds and bunkbeds. These are for adults, albeit a little small, and would be sold by the accommodation provider as an adult bed also. During extremely busy weeks in the season to try and reduce queues at the hire shops in resort on Sunday, we arrange collection allocation slots throughout the morning, this is so passengers with early morning lessons have adequate time to collect hire and get to their lesson and those without lessons, will be allocated a little later. Depending on passengers' arrival time in to resort we would always recommend collecting hire on Saturday, if time allows, the queues are normally smaller and it sets passengers up to get on the slopes as early, or late, as they want to on Sunday morning. The early morning allocation would not have been the only time passengers could collect, this would have just been the early slot, the hire shop would also have allocations for other tour operators, families, groups etc to again ensure they were able to get to their morning lessons in time. This is not something that happens every week of the season, it would only be for those peak weeks and is to try and accommodate all holidaymakers. I am sorry if this meant you or any of your friends had to wait for the later allocation or had to get there early.   If there is anything you would like to discuss further, or that we can help you with, please email [email protected] with your full name and booking reference number and our team will be happy to assist. Ollie makes the booking process so easy!

mpressed with the service and professionalism from NUCO. Messaged using their live chat service and got through to a great guy called Ollie. From there Ollie couldn’t have been of more help! He pinged over several options for us- all within our budget and exactly to our specifications. Didn’t hesitate to call or ask if we had any more questions. When we wanted to tweak one of the options this wasn’t a problem at all and Ollie went away and requoted and sent this over: The live chat function meant I could message Ollie and he would respond very quickly and answer any hesitations I had. Due to how quickly Ollie was able to answer questions and sort issues for us, we quickly had the package that was perfect for us. Taking a day from my initial inquiry! The booking process was simple and after paying the deposit a booking portal was created so I each individual member of the party could see the trip and pay their package. After we had a really bad experience with a previous tour provider (WhiteRoad) a few years back this was an easy and refreshing process with Ollie making it as pain free as possible! Ollie has remained on hand to answer any other questions we had after booking and am looking forward to see if the trip is amazing as our experience has been so far booking with NUCO! Cheers Ollie

Trent Snowsports - Lottie, Keavy, Kian

Trent Snowsports trip to Pas De La Casa, we had the most amazing time in Pas with Nuco, In particular with the Reps Lottie Clarke, Keavy Gillane and Kian Christie, they made sure we had the best time ever and looked after us and made sure everyone was safe during the trip and dealt with any enquiries as quickly as possible. As the trip officer for Trent snowsports for 2023/2024 I would like to request that we have these three reps for the next winter trip and Easter trip that Trent snowsports go on as things will run very smoothly with them being the Nuco reps for Trent.

NUCO-LuvSki was a little messy

I joined the NUCO-LuvSki 2024 trip to Val Thorens as a solo traveler, arranging my travel to the resort independently while booking accommodation, social activities (such as event wristbands and extra events), lift passes, and equipment through NUCO as part of a package deal. The highlight of the trip was undeniably the NUCO hosts, who brought infectious energy and a laugh to every event and every request (even when unable to assist). Additionally, the other guests were incredibly fun, friendly, and contributed to making it a fantastic trip. Other aspects, organised by NUCO, let me down. Firstly, their choice of accommodation was surprisingly lacklustre. Despite opting for the more premium option, the apartment provided was basic, lacking even a duvet cover for my bed. The cleanliness was subpar, and we all realized just how much, when we had to pile dirty bedsheets on the living room table at checkout. Moreover, the location was inconveniently far from most lifts, sometimes requiring an exhausting 45-mins-long trek, mostly uphill and via stairs, (or a bus) to return. The partner rental shop was terrible. Despite booking the most premium/expensive package, the equipment available was limited and of poor quality. There was only a single beat-up, low-quality snowboard available in my size and they could not set my stance because their bindings did not have a full set of notches (what??). The bindings I was given were constantly coming unfastened while I was snowboarding – after 3 days of making my own adjustments, I had to have them changed entirely. NUCO/LuvSki-specific activities also varied in their organization. “Official” venues were often over capacity before the advertised start time, preventing NUCO guests from gaining entry and restaurants/ bars were unaware of promised discounts, leading guests to have to show event documents as proof. The morning ski-friend-finding meet-up had no structure to enable people to connect (NUCO hosts added some 2 days later) and a group WhatsApp was only created halfway through the trip after guests were making their own. Most of the organized meets were centered around drinking, which was not great for those who don´t drink or would prefer to stay hangover-free to enjoy their skiing. Additionally, an on-mountain (bottomless drinks!) brunch was not rescheduled/relocated despite dangerously high winds and low visibility (all lifts in the area were closed except for one). In no way do I expect NUCO to control the weather and I know it can be difficult to re-plan something last minute, but this was legitimately dangerous for guests and I would have expected a professional organiser to have a plan B - these are big snowy mountains after all! The food (and no coffee?!?) at the brunch was definitely not worth either the dangerous conditions to arrive (many beginners/intermediates couldn't even make it! And it was further risky not to advise them not to attempt) nor the additional fee -- it was a great idea (brunch the prior day in the sunshine was reported to be absolutely epic!!), poorly executed. The lovely NUCO hosts, while providing a great atmosphere, lacked the authority to solve guest problems, consistently redirecting issues to the office. Despite the office being accessible through their app´s chat, the app section containing my personalized guest information was incorrect and missing bookings. Would I go again? Yes, probably... It was a relatively reasonable cost to go snowboarding, the other guests and hosts were exceptionally fun (although it's unfair to credit NUCO for their guest's personalities and excitement!) and these service shortfalls (although it's the actual service NUCO is providing) were annoyances that rather than deal breakers. However, I would limit my NUCO-group booking as much as possible and arrange my own providers.

Hi Jan, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Whilst we're glad to hear that you had a fantastic time in Val Thorens, we are genuinely sorry if you felt let down by some aspects of your holiday. We really appreciate your feedback and will certainly look to see if we can make any improvements in the future. We are disappointed that you found the cleanliness of your apartment to be subpar. This is not what we expect from any accommodation and had we been made aware of this during your stay, we would have arranged for a cleaner to attend or requested an alternative apartment. Unfortunately, given this was not reported, we weren't given the opportunity to resolve this. The upgraded accommodation option for LuvSki was at Residence Les Balcons, which whilst located at the top end of the resort, offers ski-in/ski-out via the blue Plein Sud piste. Whilst we appreciate the slope returning to the residence can be daunting for beginners the free resort shuttle runs frequently and stops directly outside the residence. The residence is in an ideal location for exploring the town as there are a large number of bars and restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute walk of the residence. We're sorry to hear that your rental equipment did not meet your expectations. Whilst the rental shop can't guarantee specific brands or styles of equipment, they should be able to offer quality equipment and some choice from the equipment they have in stock. Again, had we been made aware of this whilst you were in resort, we would certainly have followed this up with the rental shop. There were a variety of events offered during LuvSki including ticketed events, such as the glacier yoga and brunch events, as well as open events on the mountain and in resort. Each venue has a maximum capacity that they cannot exceed and whilst LuvSki passengers had priority access, some venues were also open to the public. All passengers are free to choose if they participate in drinking during the trip, and whilst some events do take place in bars, this is something NUCO has no control over. We offer events in a variety of venues to ensure they are inclusive for all passengers. The glacier yoga, meet and mingle, chairlift of love, retro ski parade, blind date and ski quest events were all held out and about on the mountain. I'll be sure to pass your comments onto the LuvSki team so they can take this into consideration for any future events. Due to bad weather during your trip, the Brunch event was relocated. Originally due to take place at Chalet du Thorens, given the high winds the event was relocated inside at Igloo du Thorens. Whilst there were lift closures in Val Thorens, all lifts and pistes required to attend the event were running as usual meaning the Val Thorens piste patrol and management team had deemed the area safe to be open. All passengers received information on joining LuvSki Whatsapp groups prior to their departure. This included groups will all passengers and those in your shared apartment. I'm glad to here you were able to make connections and join additional groups during your trip. We're glad to hear that you found the reps were fun and brought infectious energy and a laugh to every event and to help with any requests. That's exactly the role of our resort reps. Aside from the reps, we also have our resort support team, who are contactable on live chat and by phone 24 hours per day and are able to assist with any other element of your booking. Trip was cancelled 4 weeks no refund

Trip was cancelled which I appreciate wasn't their fault. Equally communications and internal processes are going to be slow over xmas. However the following sums up my emails to the, to try and find out when we are getting a refund. On the 16/12/21 Our trip was cancelled on that email you stated " We will be in contact next week with what process we will follow to arrange refunds." On the 21/12/21 I emailed twice to get some details now that the following week had been and gone and you had missed your own deadline of "next week" to provide information. On the 4/1/22 I emailed to try and get a response and finally got an email from James stating "I would have thought we would be processing your trip this week, if it gets to the end of the week and you haven't heard please do get back in touch." On the 10/1/22 we finally got some official communication about refunds to which I added my bank details. the email finished with if you have not received anything within 5 working days of this email please get in touch. On the 14/1/22 I emailed to ask you what is happening with refunds and you now say a further 7 to 14 days. At no point has the information been coherent or even correct. The trip was cancelled a month ago and still no refund.

Afternoon Guyon, The dates of the correspondence you had with us is correct, we had confirmed your trip cancellation on the 16/12/21 and advised we would be in touch the following week. The email confirming your refund and the next steps to apply for this refund was then sent on the 10/01/22. We are sorry for the delay in getting this information out to passengers, as you mentioned this was during Christmas and New Year and so some communications were slightly delayed and we were, unfortunately, processing a lot of cancellations for December and January as well. On the email detailing your refund this did state: This refund will be processed by bank transfer, if you have not already done so, please provide your bank details to us here. We are processing refunds as quickly as we can so please continue to be patient, if you have not received anything within 5 working days of this email please get in touch. You had submitted your bank account details to your NUCO account for your refund on the evening of the 10/01/22 and your refund left our bank account on the 17/01/22. This should have credited your nominated bank account by the 18/01/22 if a UK sterling bank account, 6 working days (working days does not include weekends) after your bank account details had been submitted. For any other refund being processed these can take between 7-14 working days to fully process and credit, hence why one of our team will have advised this as our standard process timeline, however, due to your covid forced booking cancellation we were trying to process all of these within 5 working days to avoid any delays. We were a few days delayed to what we had advised in your update email and your refunding crediting your account and we genuinuely are sorry about that. I am not sure this warrants a 1 star review as we had tried to keep our passengers as up to date as we possibly could with communications and providing full cash refunds, bar any insurance premiums or holiday items ordered and being provided by your committee. We would ask for you to review your review since your refund was processed and left our bank account 6 working days after you had submitted your details, and that this was a full cash refund, bar the insurance and MedSki pack. I would not recommend to book through…

I would not recommend to book through NUCO. Poor communication throughout the trip, a miscount of people delayed the departure time of transport from the airport and this delay meant a large majority of individuals were unable to collect ski equipment on the day of arrival. Due to this those who had booked a refresh session for the following morning had to miss this as the hire store chosen opened at 9am- same time the refresher session started. We were not given any apology nor offered a refund for the lesson. Nuco representatives were hardly visible throughout the trip, although coincidently always seen at apres. Accommodation was not ready upon arrival (despite arriving later than expected), nuco representatives demonstrated a lack of planning and efficient time keeping for a large group. The accommodation itself was shocking, the rooms had not been cleaned for what looked like a good few years, we had to make the beds (majority sofa beds) ourselves; definitely not 4 star accommodation.

Hi Sophie, Without knowing the trip you attended I'm not able to respond on specific points I'm afraid, but I will respond on what I can. For any refresher workshop passengers may have missed, through no fault of their own, we would try and reschedule these with the ski school if we can or provide a refund. If passengers arrived in good time to collect their hire on arrival but missed their workshop, or didn't advise us whilst in resort that they had missed this, we would not offer to reschedule or refund. Depending on the type of package you booked the roles of our reps can be quite different. Our reps will have time off during the day but will have rota'd shifts throughout the week during the day and in the evenings, so seeing reps at apres would be expected. All accommodation should be checked by the accommodation supplier prior to handing over any keys so it's really disappointing your apartment wasn't clean for your arrival. In this instance, we would hope passengers would raise this with the accommodation reception or us directly so we can get this rectified as soon as possible as a clean apartment should absolutely be provided. Having to make beds on arrival and the use of sofabeds is standard in the accommodation used for most of our group trip packages. I am really sorry if your holiday had some issues along the way, hopefully we were able to resolve some of these for you at the time. My recent experience with NUCO

My recent experience with NUCO, a ski/snowboarding travel company, was beyond disappointing. Upon arrival at the accommodation, we encountered a myriad of issues. The radiators were dysfunctional, leaving us shivering in the cold. The oven was also out of order, severely limiting our ability to cook meals. Adding to the discomfort was the inadequate bedding provided by NUCO. Despite assurances, the problem remained unresolved throughout our stay, causing significant inconvenience. NUCO's approach to maintenance was lackluster at best. Instead of addressing the issues promptly, they opted for makeshift solutions, such as replacing fuses in the switchboard. This left us feeling neglected and frustrated. Furthermore, promises of assistance from NUCO representatives proved hollow. Despite being assured that someone would address the issues, our calls for maintenance went unanswered, leaving us to fend for ourselves. The behavior of NUCO representatives was equally troubling. From tardiness in providing ski passes to outright refusal to provide necessary wristbands, their conduct was unprofessional and unacceptable. Communication breakdowns further compounded our woes. We were left stranded at 1 am in freezing temperatures, clueless about the location of our accommodation, as NUCO failed to provide essential details. To make matters worse, the accommodation lacked basic facilities such as reception and reliable water supply. Cloudy, undrinkable tap water, yellow water from the bathroom taps, and the absence of Wi-Fi only added to our discomfort and dissatisfaction. Overall, my experience with NUCO was nothing short of a nightmare. Their incompetence, disregard for customer satisfaction, and failure to provide basic necessities tarnished what was supposed to be an enjoyable ski trip. I strongly advise against booking with this woefully inept company.

Hi Holly, Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. We're disappointed to see this is a 1* review. We expect all of our accommodation to meet our standards, so please accept our apologies if this did not happen on this occasion. I have looked over the communications we had with you during your stay, and whilst you contacted us regarding getting extra bedding, there was no mention of any issues regarding your heating, water or oven. Of course, if we had been aware of these, we would have promptly assisted in resolving them. You were provided with information on collecting additional bedding, and when we checked in to ensure you'd managed to get this, we received no reply. Given you had booked a basic 2* accommodation, facilities such as WiFi aren't always included, and this is outlined at the time of booking. Whilst there wasn't a reception at the entrance of your building, there was a reception close by, for which you were sent a map location pin and opening hours. Similarly, you were provided with the location pin for your accommodation entrance, so it's disappointing to hear you struggled to locate this. The reps were at the lift pass distribution point between 08:00 - 10:00 as detailed in your lift pass collection information. I can see that you collected your lift pass at 10:30, so any delay may be a result of you collecting outside of the distribution times. Beware of NUCO's terms and conditions

Beware of NUCO's terms and conditions, a bunk bed and a sofa for kids are considered as regular accomodation to sleep for them.

Hi Matias. For any accommodation, the difference between an adult or childs bed is determined by the accommodation provider and is sold as such. Sofa beds, bunkbeds and trunk/pull out beds can be a little small but these are adult beds. For groups that prefer a little more space we can provide a higher standard of accommodation and apartments at under occupancy, meaning no one sleeping in the living space, but this does increase the overall holiday base price. Many of our group trip base prices include a lot more than just the accommodation cost, these can include lift pass, transport, events etc and group leaders tend to try and keep costs as low as they can for their group. Full occupancy in accommodation is the best way to acheive this. All our passengers have to agree to our booking terms and conditions at the time of making any payment on a booking. These are there to be read and agreed upon before progressing and we do state in these conditions 'Unless specified at the time of booking all packages are based on full occupancy of apartments and this can sometimes necessitate two persons sharing a double bed, sofa beds and/or bunk beds'.
