A few information about what to expect coming here! Lindos is the most traditidional and nice place of Rhodes island and easy to reach it. It’s great to stay around the area, not very busy and noisy, exactly this what you are looking for a peaceful vacation. There are many hotels, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, rent a car/moto, pharmacies, generally everything that makes you feel safe and comfortable. The beach is sandy, there many umbrellas where you can rent one for enjoying your sunbathing and some canteens for snacks and cold drinks.

Important, it’s family friendly and safe for children. Walking around it’s fantastic idea to admire the nature, but the best choice is to go in the port (harbour) and book a wonderful sea boat tour! We leave the port of Mandraki in Rhodes Town and after about 2 hours of cruising along the east coast we reach the picturesque and popular village of Lindos. During the 3.5 hour stay you can explore the local centre, stroll through the small narrow streets, walk up to the Acropolis or enjoy the time on the sandy beach of Lindos in front of a picturesque backdrop. We pick you up again by boat in the afternoon and return to Rhodes Town, from where you are transferred by coach back to your hotel. The Lindos boat trip is a nice alternative to the land route.

Visit lindos by boat from rhodes town with transfer from the north.

Sooner or later Lindos will appear on the map of every visitor of the island. Rightly, the historic village situated on the east coast is considered one of the most beautiful on the whole island - and many roads lead to the spectacular Acropolis of Lindos. A nice alternative to the land route is the boat trip to Lindos from Rhodes Town. In addition to sightseeing in the alleys of Lindos, this day trip by boat will introduce you to the sea side of the island. The crossing from the north to the east takes about 2 hours. If on land it is mainly the olive groves and Greek villages that determine the way to Lindos, on the sea route we are accompanied by a coastline lined with numerous beautiful beaches and bays. The Lindos boat excursion includes a transfer from the north of Rhodes to Mandraki port.

Once in Lindos, you will enjoy a stay of about 3.5 hours, which you can spend as you wish. Most visitors, of course, come to see the Acropolis and walk once past the remaining columns of the ancient temples. The ancient structure is perched on the rocky peak above the small village and can be seen from afar. A steep climb leads to the fortress mountain, which is about 166 meters high. You can conquer it on foot or use the so-called donkey cab. On several levels of the museum complex there are buildings from different eras - for example the ruins of the old castle or the Roman imperial temple. Please note that there is an entrance fee to visit the Acropolis, which is not included in the excursion package of this Lindos boat tour.

Those who travel by boat from Rhodes town to Lindos may have tuned in to beach and sun - you can enjoy both at the nice places in the village. Charming in between is a walk through the alleys of Lindos, where souvenir stores, taverns and cafes invite you to linger. In the afternoon we return by boat to Rhodes Town and transfer you back to the hotel from Mandraki port. Lindos boat excursion combines two delightful vacation activities in Rhodes - perfect for a day trip.

How to Easily Get from Rhodes to Lindos By Transfer, Bus, or Boat

If you’ve booked a trip to the beautiful beach town of Lindos on the island of Rhodes, you’re in for the trip of a lifetime.

Lindos was one of our favorite places we visited on Rhodes and we recommend it to every traveler planning a trip to this scenic Greek island. The beach is truly one of Greece’s best, with calm waters due to its sheltered bay, incredibly soft sand, and the most impossibly serene shades of blue and turquoise you can imagine.

However, Lindos is on the other side of the island from Rhodes airport, making getting here slightly tricky, especially if you are coming with your family. Hotel transfers can be exorbitantly expensive, oftentimes nearly $100 per person or more. A taxi from the airport will charge you a minimum of 75 euros from our most recent trip in 2018 (could be more in 2019). However, if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or more than 4 people, then taxi isn’t a viable option.

We have collected a few of the best ways to get between Rhodes and Lindos, including how to get from Rhodes airport to Lindos as well as how to get from Rhodes Town to Lindos, whether on a day trip or on a longer stay.

How to Get From Rhodes Airport to Lindos By Private Shuttle

One of the best ways to travel between Rhodes Airport and Lindos without any fuss or hassle is by booking a private shuttle . These shuttles can be expensive if traveling solo, but they become an incredibly great value if you are traveling in a group of 4 or more.

The driver will meet you at the airport with a sign and help you with your luggage. They also will watch flight tracking so in the lucky event that your flight arrives early, your driver will know and be there waiting for you so you can be driven from Rhodes airport to your Lindos hotel in no time.

We recommend the 5-star rated Euronet for fuss-free and affordable transfers between Rhodes Airport to Lindos for groups as large as 8 people. Prices vary depending on how many people are in your party but can be anywhere from $17.25 per person in a group of 8 or $101 for a solo traveler.

You can easily book these transfers online here – keep in mind that when booking this, that Lindos is in Zone C. I recommend booking a few days or even a week in advance to ensure that your taxi will arrive easily.

How To Get from Rhodes Airport to Lindos by Taxi

If you are traveling in a group of 4 or fewer people, don’t have a ton of luggage, and want to get to Rhodes Airport to Lindos the cheapest yet easiest way possible, then a taxi is your best bet.

When we visited Rhodes in 2018, we saw that a taxi from Rhodes Airport to Lindos cost 75 euros flat rate. However, the price may have increased since then, so be prepared to pay more. We are not certain if Rhodes taxis accept credit cards so we recommend having euros on hand.

Just keep in mind that if you take a while to go through passport control and getting your luggage you may be stuck in a line at the taxi stand, which is one of the perks of getting a private shuttle who is ready and waiting for you when you arrive.

How to Get from Rhodes Airport to Lindos by Bus

The absolute cheapest way but definitely the longer way by a factor of three, it is possible to use public transportation all the way from Rhodes Airport to Lindos. However, it will take you at least three hours and possibly more if you miss a convenient connection and have to wait, as the bus arrival times are not synced. I don’t recommend it unless you have time to kill and are a serious budget traveler who doesn’t mind sacrificing time and comfort for cost.

You can take the D.E.S. Roda bus from Rhodes Airport to Rhodes Town for 2.30 euros ( website here , but it’s in Greek and complicated to figure out), which takes 35 minutes. You will then have to transfer to another bus (KTEL Rodou) which takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Rhodes, making two stops along the way. This bus costs 5.50 euros at the time of writing. The schedule from April 2018 is shown above. Depending on the season there are different departures; you can find the most recent timetable here .

How to Get From Rhodes Town to Lindos by Boat (Day Trip)

If you’re planning to visit Lindos from Rhodes Town as a day trip, the most beautiful way to go is definitely by boat. We recommend this affordable 4-1/2 star day trip by boat which includes a round-trip boat transfer between Rhodes and Lindos, photo stops at Anthony Quinn’s Bay, and two swimming stops at Tsambika and Lindos Bays.

You will have three hours of free time to enjoy Lindos at your leisure, whether that’s exploring the historical acropolis on a rock overlooking the sea, wandering the charming white-washed streets and enjoying a meal in a local taverna, or sunning yourself and enjoying one of the many lounge chairs on Lindos Beach.

The boat trip does not include hotel transfers and you will need to leave at 9 AM from Mandraki Port. You’ll return from your day in Lindos at 5:30 PM.

How to Get from Rhodes Town to Lindos by Luxury Minibus (Day Trip)

Another easy way to get from Rhodes Town to Lindos is by a luxury minibus transfer. This is great if you are traveling in summer as we found that the public bus between Rhodes and Lindos did not have air conditioning, and we were sweltering in the hot bus even in April – hardly the hottest season!

This shared luxury 4 1/2-star rated minibus transfer includes hotel pickups and drop-offs and gives you 4 hours of free time to explore Lindos at your leisure. They also stop at a few points so you can get perfect photos of Lindos from a distance. It’s the perfect combination of convenience and freedom, which is my personal preference when it comes to travel.

We also found the roads between Rhodes Town and Lindos quite winding, so it was a bit nauseating to go by public bus. However, obviously taking a luxury minibus is a bit more expensive than going by public bus so if you are on a strict budget this is not the best option. Also, this is just for a day trip so if you plan to stay in Lindos overnight or longer then I’d recommend either taking a taxi from Rhodes Town for ~65 euros per cab from or the bus for ~6 euros per person.

How to Get from Rhodes Town to Lindos by Public Bus

It’s quite easy to get a bus from Rhodes Town to Lindos on the public bus company KTEL Rodou, which takes 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to Rhodes, making two stops along the way. This bus costs 5.50 euros at time of writing. Depending on the season there are different departures; you can find the most recent timetable here .

This is what we personally did to get between Rhodes Town and Lindos on our day trip to Lindos, but we found it to be lacking in comfort. For one, the bus was quite crowded even in April and it was super hot with zero air circulation. It was also very winding and so we both felt a little bus-sick, but for the price of 11 euros for a roundtrip ticket it was definitely the cheapest way to get from Rhodes to Lindos.

There is a free shuttle bus that will take you from the bus stop to the center of Lindos Town, or it’s a short and scenic 5-minute walk.

• Lindos, which departures at 9 am and arrives back at Kolymbia at 15,30 pm. During the trip we make a stop for swimming at Tsambika beach, Stegna & Red sand beach and Agathi beach. Our stop at Lindos lasts 3 hours.
• Anthony Quinn bay, which departures at 9,30 am and arrives back at Kolymbia at 15,30 pm. During the trip we make a stop for swimming at Traganou, Ladiko, Anthony Quinn, Tsambika, Stegna and Red sand beach.
• Lindos and 8 more beaches (Saint Paul, Vlycha, Kalathos, Haraki, Agathi, Tsambika, Stegna and Red sand beach), which departures at 9,30 am and arrives back at Kolymbia at 16,00 pm. During the trip we make 4 stops for swimming. Our stop at Lindos lasts 1 hour.
• Mini Cruise to:
• Traganou beach, Ladiko and Anthony Quinn bay, which departures at 9,30 am and arrives back at Kolymbia at 12,30 pm. During the trip we make a stop for swimming.
• Tsambika beach, Stegna and Red sand beach, which departures at 12,30 am and arrives back at Kolymbia at 15,30 pm. During the trip we make also a stop for swimming.
• Private Cruise to:

About 30 kilometers from Rhodes town you will find the Kolymbia village. In summer time its full of tourists all around, because its a touristic place full of hotels-resorts. So driving from Rodos to Lindos, turn left on the eucalyptus road and follow it untill the end of the road. There are many hotels in the area, fish restaurants, cafe bars, and shops. Generally its a quiet place, idieal to relax and enjoy quiet holidays. The beach is sandy and very clean, and the Kolymbia port is the place where every morning departures all the boats for daily trips. Its nice to try an excursion by the sea, its better for a full day, and trust me it will be an unforgetable memory! Half-Day boat trip to Lindos!

Join our Wednesday,  Friday    or Sunday half-day boat trip, to Lindos, the jewel of Rhodes.

Aboard our red Sea-Shuttle, Lindos is just a 55 minute boat journey away.

This  half-day , early start trip on Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays, gives you 2¾ hours to explore the ancient acropolis, the traditional Greek village or to simply relax on the golden sands. Departing from Lindos at 12:40, you’ll be back in Faliraki in time for lunch.

Cruising down the Eastern coast of the island, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the sea breeze and the changing views.

Seeing the silhouette of the Acropolis appearing on the distance does not prepare you for the WOW factor as you get close!

Make your way up the winding paths to enter the village of Lindos with its cobbled streets and “icing sugared” houses climbing up the slope to the Acropolis.

On foot or on a donkey, you arrive at the top and immerse yourself in the history of the Temple.

On the way down, wander through the little alleyways where there are a myriad of shops offering souvenirs alongside coffee shops and ice cream parlours to cool you after your climb.

What to see and do in Rhodes?

The medieval city of rhodes, a journey back in time.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the old town of Rhodes is surrounded by impressive ramparts. This maze of narrow streets is a mix between Ottoman architecture and the heritage of the Order of St John of Jerusalem. The Palace of the Grand Masters and the Rue des Chevaliers are home to some of the most striking monuments from the Crusader era, while the streets of the old Juderia give off a sense of yesteryear.

The ancient acropolises of Líndos and Camirus

On the east coast of Rhodes, the magnificent whitewashed village of Líndos is dominated by a spectacular archaeological site . This acropolis houses the remains of a temple to Athena and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding bays. On the west coast, the ancient city of Kamiros also preserves the ruins of a Rhodian city dating back to the 11 th century BC. A must-see on any trip to Rhodes, with or without a guide.

Whether you stroll along the eclectic Foro Italico or towards the aquarium and the Elli establishment, both Art Deco gems , the buildings on the island of Rhodes function as potent reminders of the era of Italian occupation (1912-1943). Prasonisi, the kitesurfing mecca

South of Rhodes, the Prassoníssi peninsula is a world-renowned windsurfing and kitesurfing spot. On the west coast, the long beach of Theologos is exposed to the meltemi winds and offers unique weather conditions, especially for beginner riders .

Where to swim around Rhodes?

Surrounded by cliffs, Anthony Quinn Bay offers turquoise waters that attract plenty of tourists. Down at sea level, Tsambika beach is renowned for its golden sands. To avoid the crowds, however, it's best you keep going southwards or along the windy west coast. There is a gorgeous road leading up to the castle of Monólithos and, below, the wild beach of Fourni is a magical sight at sunset.

When should you travel to rhodes.

Summer is the high season. In summertime, temperatures are high and the coastline is very busy. For a more relaxed time in Rhodes, spring and autumn are best, thanks to the pleasant climate and limited crowds.

How long should it take you to visit Rhodes?

To discover most of Rhodes' major sites and fully enjoy the beaches, you'll need four to six days. To explore more of the island and its hinterland, set aside a week to ten days.

How do I get around on the island of Rhodes?

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands. There are plenty of buses to get you to the major sites on the west coast, but the south features less service. To enjoy more freedom on your holiday on Rhodes, renting a car is a more practical option.

Hey all. Out at the end of May, staying at Lindos Blue Sky, we don't get into resort until roughly 10pm, looking for recommendation for eateries close by that will be open. First time staying been here for day trips a while back so all will be new. TIA

I'm pretty sure Ice Bar is still serving food at that time . It's owned by your hosts and only a short walk away.

If Ice Bar is closed I suggest you head over the road and walk downhill for 5-7 mins. Passing through the square and going straight ahead you will find a Gyros place on the RHS. If you take the LH fork you will find an upmarket burger station.

If you get to the church and head up the main drag you will find numerous restaurants still open at that time, plus bars, clubs, crepe places etc..

Taxis are available in the square or just off the square on the hill if you need one to head back (probably about €5 -€7)

Lindos street food is open till early hours gyros hot dogs burgers chips and just opposite 404 var for a drink afterwards. It's by the white tree in the center of lindos.
