Dissapointed

We have just returned from a Caribbean cruise on Sea Princess. We are sure Levi's tour would have been as good as his reviews, had we gone on it. We booked on line before leaving UK and arranged to meet Bumpiing tours within half an hour of the ship docking, near a bank. No time was mentioned. We were one of the first off the ship when she docked at 8.15am. But we hadn't docked in Roseau. The ship had docked in Woodbridge. This tour was to be the highlight of our cruise and we didn't want to miss it. We got on a shuttle bus but he didn't want to go until he had a bus load. We decided it would be quicker to walk as the locals said it was only 5-10 minutes away. Nearly half an hour later after walking through some not very nice areas of Dominica and having to ask locals directions, we finally arrived in Roseau only to find that the tour had gone without us. We are in our mid 60's and it was all quite distressing. We had tried phoning Levi on his mobile to tell him we were on our way, he didn't answer. This is just a warning for others thinking of booking this tour. There is more than one docking area!

After 10 Caribbean islands in 2 weeks, I reached Dominica on Christmas Day thinking I couldn't possibly best the many wonderful adventures I'd already had. Yet, Levi and Gary did just that with Bumping Tour's Treasures of Roseau Valley tour to Titou Gorge, Trafalgar Falls (with the natural hot pools) and Champagne Ridge, snorkeling through volcanic bubbles. The other reviews give a lot of the details already, so I'll just say that for adventure and natural beauty, Dominica can't be beat, and Levi is the most gracious host you could ask for. Champagne Ridge was one of the most magical experiences - indeed, it may be the most magical experience - I've ever had: a perfect way to spend Christmas.

Levi and Gary gave us a memorable tour, starting at Titou Gorge swimming(Pirates of the Caribbean) relaxing in Hot springs, and snorkeling at Champagne reef. Kept the swimming gear on throughout the trip. Complementary drinks and half the price of Cruise line. Book online and pay on trip. One not to miss, very memorable and interactive.

In January, my husband and I were on a 10-day cruise with Royal Caribbean to the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Dominica. Roseau was our favorite port hands down, including all ports from our previous 6 cruises together. This is, in large part, thanks to Levi Baron of Bumpiing Tours! Unfortunately, our ship arrived to port late, and was leaving early on this day. No one knew why this was necessary! Darn ship captain! For Levi, this was “no problem, no problem.” Our van’s group consisted of 9 adults. A second group went with one of Levi’s colleagues on a less physically strenuous tour. We climbed into Levi’s comfortable, clean van and headed to our first stop. The group climbed the 2’ish miles up a fairly steep hike to Middleham Falls. This is the most physically demanding part of the tour and took about 45 minutes each way, so it was perfect to do this first. Levi made everyone feel safe and pointed out any especially slippery, hazardous parts. He also encouraged stopping whenever someone needed a breath, and he took this time to show us the flora and fauna and take pictures. (Take a bookbag to store drinks and cameras. Bring a water-safe camera for some parts.) We reached the viewing platform for the falls, and what a reward for being out of breath! Levi gave the group the option to climb down and swim under the falls with his guidance, but we declined as it was quite rough on this day due to heavy recent rains. Next stop was Titou Gorge. After about a 10 minute hike, we swam through the striking caves at the top of the gorge (famous as the site of some filming for Pirates 2). We were provided with swim belts as you must swim against the current from the waterfalls feeding the gorge. Not too challenging, but coooold! Quite refreshing. Levi took some of the group’s daredevils up the fall one-by-one to jump off …requiring at least a 6 foot jump away from the falls to avoid the rocks. Most of us opted for his modified version of the fun off of a nearby rock! After the gorge, we headed for Trafalgar Falls. The ticket to this protected area is included in the tour price. Again, the group hiked the 10 minutes to the viewing area for the two waterfalls here. We hiked further into the rainforest to enjoy the hot mineral springs. The group opted to relax here for awhile and not climb further into swim under the falls due to time constraints and the crowds (the ONLY place we hit any other people at all). The big downer of the day was missing the Champagne Reef …to no fault of Levi. He offered for us to still go here, but we would need to “swim fast” haha to catch the ship. Instead, Levi took us to the botanical gardens and the Morne Bruce area for beautiful aerial views of Roseau. He could have just taken us to the ship early, but gave us this great alternative. We were still back to the port with some time for the shops. Another great part of Dominica, is no one hassles or solicits you anywhere! Throughout the day, Levi shared the history and culture of his home island, and provided all-you-can-drink water, local beer and fruit soda (delicious!). Bring your own snacks, and good water-safe sneakers, which he recommends in his emails to you! One remarkable part of Levi’s tour was, before we started and through the day, he was calling ahead to comrades at each location to ensure we were the only group at each place! We did not run into any other group until Trafalgar Falls, where we still had the hot springs to ourselves! This certainly made the experience even more intimate and special! Levi encouraged taking as much time at each location as we wanted for pictures, etc so no feeling rushed. Experiences you won’t get on this tour that our friends enjoyed in the area were the “natural spas” (massages, private mineral springs, and mud baths) and local cuisine. We will just have to go back for these and the Champagne Reef! Only so much time in a day. Roseau, Dominica has only a limited shopping area at the port, and is quite undeveloped. The real beauty of the island is in its natural beauty. There can’t be a better way to enjoy this than with Levi and Bumpiing Tours! This was the highlight of our whole trip, and Levi’s enthusiasm for his island and clean living will stay with you!

This trip was amazing, its a must do in Dominica. We learned and saw alot!! Mr. Nice Fruit Stand is a must do. We got to sample grapefruit, coconut, bananas, cocoa beans, sugar cane. It was all amazing!! The Emerald Pool and the Trafalgar Falls were beautiful!!

Levi is a fantastic person, first and foremost. He really cares about people, and wants you to have a first class adventure. He was born and raised on this island, so his unique perspective and childlike joy of life made our tour really memorable. We visited Titou Gorge, and swam through it to the place where they filmed Pirates of the Caribbean II. Very fast moving and bracing temps in the water, but Levi helped us all experience it (and some in our group were, shall we say, a little out of shape) Levi is a very positive person, and made all aspects of this tour fun. We then went to the waterfalls, where we passed the multitude of people of the cruiseship tour, and we actually were able to sit in the hot springs as the cruise tour people looked at us with envy. You really needed to be careful on this tour, as it is the rainforest and the rocks get slippery etc, but Levi gently kept us in line, and safe and still have a great time. I will remember this tour forever, thank you Bumping!

We traveling to Dominica for the second time in March 2010 and I've already begun to research. I've purchased two guide books and done numerous on-line searches.

We are considering Bumpiing Tours and we're looking at the combo Middleham Falls/Titou Gorge hike. (I'd also like to add a stop at the black sand beach we visited on our last cruise to Dominica - see my other post on this site.)

Have you used this company? What are the costs like? Were you satisfied? Did the vehicles seem safe? Have you visited these locations in-particular?

We loved the hike to Sari Sari Falls, but we're older now and fell it would be too difficult for us. We enjoy hiking, but that hike was pretty rough in spots and we're looking for something a little easier.

Your thoughts? Suggestions? Feedback? Advice?

Hi Printingchick:

We just returned from a 14-day Fort Lauderdale return on the HAL Maasdam. We're not a big fan of ship's tours (cost, too regimented, et cetera), and Dominica isn't the kind of place even this fearless, learned-to-drive-in-Montreal driver would want to rent a car...the only way I would consider renting a car here is if I were staying a week or longer, and getting lost were no problem. There are very few signs that we noticed, and more than a few potholes around. So, after much research and investigation, decided to contact Levi Baron of Bumpiing Tours. Levi got back to us promptly, and seemed eager to please.

So yes...we have used this company. We found the costs to be very reasonable. We did the Pools, Falls and More Tour...Emerald Pool (+swim in the pool), Trafalgar Falls (+ swim in the warm pools there), a stop at Mr. Nice's fruit stand ( a must-do!), views/pics over Roseau from Morne Bruce, a quick swing through the Botanical Gardens (10 mins--enough for us), then down towards Scott's Head for snorkeling at Champagne Reef.

The tour cost was $50 each (snorkeling at Champagne reef is an optional add-on, which costs an additional $7 each--use your own gear, or rent at Irie Safari, on-site), and lasted from just after docking at 8:00am until 3:45 or so. He was right where he said he'd be in very clear directions sent via email, and dropped us right back at the ship. He has an almost-new (months-old) beautiful, clean, safe van that could carry perhaps 10 passengers or so (it was only the two of us on this particular day). I could not imagine a more personable, friendly guide...a genuininely great guy, trying (and succeeding, I hope) to build a small local business.

Whereas some guides basically drop you somewhere and point you more or less in the right direction, Levi is there with you every step of the way, showing you the local flora and fauna, and taking particular care to point out the trickier spots along the hikes. We found our hikes to be extremely easy (Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Falls). All entrance fees are included in the tour cost...careful--they're extra with some operators. There's a full cooler (local beer, soft drinks, water) that "are yours", in the van. He's always reminding you that it's your day, and he can stop any time, or take you anywhere you want. He's also good in the way he gives you the lay of the land...how it works at Mr, Nice's, for example (no charge, no cost, but there's a container--very discreet--where you can leave a "tip"--but Mr. Nice will not hassle you or ask for money at all--unlike those tour bus drivers in NYC!!--and you only stop there if you want to--for us, it was great entertainment for 10 minutes or so, for a couple of bucks in the tip pot) There's also none of the "set-ups"...stops at the roadside, for example, to see the jungle guy on stilts, or to take a picture of the snake guy, or the donkey guy where you're coerced into leaving money, like in Jamaica. Levi takes good care of his charges. We had a FABULOUS day in Dominica, one we could not have replicated on our own at anywhere near the same cost. I can't wait for our return, whenever that may be, when we can (hopefully) perusade Levi to show us more of his beautiful island.

Full disclosure...I knew nothing of Levi Baron or Bumpiing Tours prior to about a month ago, when I researched our stop in Dominica, and read some reviews here, and looked over his web site. I just really admire a geniuine, nice guy trying to build a small local business, and support his family, in a location where it can be a challenge to do just that. A+ from start to finish.

Also...only one of us was going to snorkel...usually Levi would snorkel alongside, but today he begged off, owing to the fact that he had a pickup at the ferry dock after our tour finished, and so couldn't get all wet. Upon hearing that I did not have my own snorkel gear, immediately offered me the use of his, thereby saving me the rental charge. BTW...snorkeling at Champagne Reef is great fun...little bubbles coming off the sea floor...just like...you guessed it...champagne! Not the greatest sea life/fish, but not bad...the bubbles really make it!

Also...this was our second time in Dominica...the first time we only walked around town...nothing special. What a mistake that was...as they say...get out of Roseau and see the country!! I'm SO glad we did...it was definitely one of my best port days ever!

Any questions--just let me know.

You'll love Dominica!

Just back this week from the Summit including Dominica. This was by far our favorite day of the trip, and due to bumping tours! It was an exceptional day and I agree with everything the above poster said. You will NOT go wrong doing this tour. We did a private tour, just the two of us which was $180 (plus tip) and worth every penny!

lovetocruise99

Like the poster above, I also had never heard of Levi of Bumpiing Tours until a month ago when I began researching our cruise the 1st week in March on Celebrity Summit. We had a great time on his Roseau Valley Wet tour and can't say enough good things about Levi. He's charming, cute and most importantly a careful driver. We cruise a couple of times a year in the Caribbean and while most tour operators are okay, the truly great ones a few and far between. Levi is a great tour guide because he gets right in there with you whatever you're doing. If you're swimming in frigid water at 8:00 am in Titou Gorge, he's diving in first. The same with the hiking, hot springs or snorkeling. We also really liked him personally a great deal too. He runs a good solid business and will take good care of you.

We did a private tour with Levi last week, booked it about four or five months ago. He is the best tour guide we have ever had! He kept reminding us that this was our day, he would stop anytime for pictures, was very considerate to our disability situation, and we never felt rushed. (Even our 16 yr old son loved it, and he is one tough customer!) We are planning a return trip to the island for a week, mostly due to Levi, and will definately use him while we are there. (I wouldn't wait till last minute to book him - he is becoming very popular)

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to provide such a wonderful, helpful and comprehensive review! I greatly appreciate your help!!

We chose this cruise specifically because it stopped in Dominica. We were so taken with it the last time we visited.

Thanks again!

Note of caution - Middleham was a pretty intense hike. Four miles total and slippery rough terrain with a LOT of step climbing. Beautiful payoff - but a true hike.
I just booked with Levi Baron on Bumping tour on April 6th because of all the great reviews I have read on this board. I will add my comments when I get back. We are very excited about this Island.:)

Tiki_Man

The Valley Best Hike that includes Middleham Falls is HARD AND INTENSE.

We have used Levi on 2 different occasions and he is FANTASTIC.

The hike that goes to Emerald Pool is MUCH MUCH different from Middleham Falls. If you have even the slightest problem with hiking or physical endurance my advise is to do Emerald Pool.

We have done both (Mid 40's and in good shape). Emerald Pool is simple, about 15 or 20 minute walk along a good path until the very end where it is steep and rocky, but the pool is only 4 or 5 ft deep, about 20 ft across. You can actually go up behind the falls and get a great picture.

Middleham is a WHOLE different animal. 90 minutes, very hilly, trail is marked and mostly stepped, but slippery and VERY steep in places, switchbacks, crossing streams, over logs, etc. At the end you climb down a steep face with steps to a platform about 10 x 10 that overlooks the Falls and Pool. Very pretty. If you want to get wet, you have to climb down about 40 ft over rocks (no steps), into a VERY VERY cold pool that is deep and swim about the length of a pool across to a cave ledge close to the Falls. Climb up about 6 ft into that ledge and then you can jump/dive back into the pool.

I did this last week and it was the highlight of the entire trip, however only half our group of 12 actually went down to the water. Of course after seeing the falls, you have to hike BACK OUT for 1 hour. There was an older couple on our tour. Levi tried to convince them to go on the Emerald Pool trip instead, but they INSISTED. Bad mistake. They ended up taking an extra half hour to complete and we were delayed enough to miss Champagne Reef.

Just be smart in your choice and listen to Levi's advise when you meet him. He is a great guy and honestly wants to do what is best for the customer.

Good luck, have a great trip and tell him Mark and Mary say hello.

Thanks. Now I'll need to think again. We absolutely LOVED our Sari-Sari Falls hike, but it was tough. As you said, slippery rough terrain, steep climbing. We hike in New Hampshire every year, but nothing like the rain forest hike to Sari-Sari Falls! I was looking for something with the same payoff as Sari-Sari (second largest falls, Middleham is highest), but a little easier hike! Maybe I'll quiz Levi when I contact him - since I supect he's done both.

Great info. We're going the Roseau Valley Best.

We're from Colorado and do a lot of hiking, so we're looking forward to it.

Just be sure to check beforehand whether Levi will be doing your tour so you're not disappointed if he doesn't personally do your tour. We were there on a WindSurf cruise on a day that Carnival was also there (2 hours later so we didn't want to join them) so he had another tour guide do our Rosseau Valley Treasures tour with another couple. We enjoyed it, but wouldn't give it the rave reviews that Levi got on this site. Linda

Like others, until I booked this cruise in late December, I had never researched Dominica, nor had I even known what tours were available on the island. With thanks to the many nice people here on CruiseCritic, we booked a tour with Bumpiing Tours (Levi) that included Middleham Falls and other stops for March 16, 2009 on our Celebrity Summit cruise.

Here is the excerpt of my review posted here on Cruise Critic of our day in Dominica (in the Reviews section of CruiseCritic). I finally figured out why it kept disappearing as a thread I posted starting Sunday --- apparently it is against the rules to post a review, or excerpt of a cruise review, even if it is posted in the "Reviews" portion because it talks about a specific operator. I'm just glad I wasn't losing my mind --- thinking I had posted a thread to share about my hike and it not showing up later in th day! Anyway, here is the excerpt of my posted review pertaining to this specific port, and since it is IN ANSWER TO the OP wanting info about Middleham Falls Hike and particularly this guide, hopefully this excerpt won't be pulled... again...

Dominica – We did an amazing hike with Levi - Roseau Valley Best tour – and cannot recommend him enough. He was CPR and first aid certified, friendly, encouraging on the hard hike, took pictures for us, etc. This was $60 each, and included Middleham Falls (labeled “strenuous” on the ship shore excursions), Titou Gorge (swimming with life ring into the gorge where Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed), and Trafalgar Falls (and natural hot springs). The $60 per person price included everything (transportation, guide, entrance fees, beverages) and lasted about 7 hours. We also tipped $20 at the end. Levi’s van (with A/C) held about 14 people but we only had 9 on our tour. I will also point out that when hiking back from the falls, we passed one group where it seemed there were 30 people, and three uniformed guides who seemed to be there for “the job” and not necessarily because they loved hiking and people. Levi took time to get to know each one of us, and we learned about things along the hike (berries to eat, trees and Indian history, vines to swing like Tarzan, etc.) We will definitely book another tour with Levi when we return to Dominica. Again, I cannot recommend Levi enough- I felt safe, my husband also enjoyed the day, we got dirty, and loved every minute of it. That particular part of the island receives 450 inches of rain per year. A good pair of Keens is worth the investment (like Keen Newports). We did the most strenuous part of the tour first (Middleham) and Levi had it all timed where we were the only ones enjoying each of the sites. Also, some guides would not have allowed swimming at the falls, but Levi was right there with us, encouraging us.

Here is Levi’s website: http://www.bumpiingtours.com/cruise-ship-visitors.html

By comparison, the ship offered each of these three attractions as their own separate tour, with Middleham Falls being $44 each (no Titou Gorge or Trafalgar Falls). As always, with any hike, you need to evaluate your physical well being. I do not workout regularly (did before our toddler was born) and am in mid-30s, but did have a stress test last summer and know how I am with inclines such as our hiking in Zion and Sedona in the past 6-8 months (have to stop and catch my breath every so often). I communicated with Levi ahead of time, was honest, and had switched to a different tour, but after meeting him he asked me if I was sure. I knew he was looking me up and down to see if I looked fit, and he thought I would have no problem. He was right, there was only one time on the Middleham hike I had to be the one to ask for a stop (about 1-2 minutes) but otherwise stayed right on Levi’s heels the entire hike. I just didn’t want to be the one “dragging the rear” or asking for stops. But yes, it was a challenging hike with inclines, and constantly watching your footing, but I also did do the “extra” things like scrambling over rocks to go swim in the 58-degree water at the falls, climbing up into the cave, and diving off into the falls. Once we got back onboard, I was so hungry I could have eaten one of everything that was still out for lunch buffet. I think I used about a million calories on that hike, and was only slightly sore the next day or two. (Think of a stairmaster for about an hour --- that’s Middleham). We would not have had the energy to do Champagne snorkeling afterwards ($7 more) but did enjoy grabbing lunch. The last stop had souvenirs, which is where we purchased our magnet we always get when visiting somewhere new. The T-pool in the AquaSpa was a welcome return!! (And several times during our cruise was hotter than the hot tubs!)

Hello dbail4,

We have a very active thread on the Summit sail date April 4. You are welcome to join. Link is:

We were on the Emerald Princess cruise departing March 10th, and Levi was our tour guide in Dominica. He was a safe driver, very knowledgeable and we enjoyed his outgoing personality. You'll need water shoes with good grip if you're going to Titou Gorge or the hot springs since the rocks are slippery and the ground uneven, but both are worthwhile visiting. And do get in the water at Titou Gorge ... even though it's cold, it's quite an experience!! I'd highly recommend Bumpiing Tours & Levi.

We did a private tour with Levi in June 2007 and had a great time. Highly recommend him. He is as good as they get.

We were on the Maasdam in early November and booked with Levi for our stop in Dominica. We chose to take his Roseau Valley Tour ($40) and added Champagne Reef ($7). Levi was amazing!! I cannot stress that enough. He provided directions via email about where to meet him when we got off the ship and while his directions seemed detailed, when we got off the ship, it looked nothing like what he had described in his email. Turns out, we were at a different terminal. As we began walking and trying to figure out what to do, a cab driver asked if we needed a tour. When I replied that we had one booked with Levi, he said "he's right over there". Sure enough, Levi found out where we docked and made sure that he and his van were visable. There were just two of us on the tour and he repeatedly told us that it was our day and we could do whatever we wanted. As this was our first time on Dominica, we defered to his expertise. He took us to Trafalger Falls first and there was no one there but us and the people that worked there. On our walk back to the van, we ran into several tours from the ship that were just getting there. Let me tell you, we were very glad not to be part of that cattle call! Levi had mentioned when we got there, that because it had rained very heavily the night before, we might not be able to swim at Titou Gorge. But he was in contact by cell phone with someone who was up at the Gorge and happily he told us all was ok and that would be our next stop. Again, we were the only people at Titou Gorge and Levi dove right into the freezing (I'm from FL) water. He swam with me up the Gorge and told me about working with the film crew from Pirates of the Carribbean. It could not have been more pleasant! Our entire day continued this way, and Levi was an excellent source of info about the island and the people. This tour was by far the best value of any tour I've booked on any island. For a mere $47 per person, we saw a good portion of the island, got to snorkel Champagne Reef, and spent the day with a perfectly charming man! I would highly recommend Levi to everyone and cannot wait for my own next trip to Dominica!

Hey there fellow travellers, if you are thinking about a tour with Levi, think no further. If you want the best tour of the most beautiful island and people by all means take a tour with the best, Levi. He is the most knowledgeable and the friendliest tour guide anywhere, hands down.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED

I agree with the other posts.

I booked the Roseau Valley Wet Tour($40) with Champagne Reef Snorkel(another $7) with Levi about a month before our March 15, 2009 Victory cruise. We(2 adults, 2 girls 11,17) found him easily when we got off the ship. We ended up being in a van with another Cdn family of 6 and had not Levi but ??Alvin as our driver. He was good and went in with us swimming at Titou Gorge. The water is quite cold and my youngest, and the other Cdn family got out due to the coldness. Once you get in and get swimming it is not so bad, it is quite unique and something my eldest really wanted to do as she loves PiratesoftheC. movies. Was glad they offered the life belts esp. for the people that are not strong swimmmers. The van ?Alvin was driving had some trouble so he contacted Levi who had a friend with another van pick us up-only had to wait a few minutes for the other fellow. (Cell phones are a great thing for tour operators on all these islands!!) We met up with Levi at Trafalgar Falls and then he drove us to the Cham.Reef and went in snorkeling with us.

Dominica is lovely like St. Lucia, but the roads in Dominica are way worse!!!! Dominica I can see becoming very popular with tourists in the near future with development-so go see it now!!!!

Levi was great and did tell me the earlier you book, then you may get him as your driver. The other fellow was good too, but I can tell having Levi with you on the whole tour would have been best!

Really loved Dominica! Levi's company is reliable and we would definitely book again with him should we ever go back.

we were lucky to have levi as our guide today for the wet tour with champagne snorkel.

the gorge was very cold but most of us braved it. bring something warm to put on afterward (sweatshirt). had a great rest of the tour, make sure you have good shoes for walking in mud, on rocks, etc. The shore at Champagne reef is very rocky. the snorkeling there was better than i expected, the bubbles were neat but there were also a good number of fish. levi took great care of us, we had 11 in his van.

We went on the pools, falls, and more tour last week with the Champagne reef snorkeling and had Gary as our guide. It was one of our favorite tours. My wife liked soaking in the warm mineral water...it was like a jacuzzi with the warm water falling down her back and massaging her. We saw the Trafalgar falls, Emerald pool, sulfur springs, and drove through the botanical gardens. We also made a stop at Mr. Nice's fruit stand and sampled some food. The warm coconut candy with cocoa sprinkled on top was the best! Afterwards we snorkeled at Champagne reef and saw fish and bubbles coming out from the rocks. Levi even checked up on us to make sure that we saw the bubbles. We did not feel rushed at all and spent the whole day on the tour.

Just Got back:(.

We went with Levi on Bumpiing tours! What I can say is its the best tour we have ever done. I cant thank him enough.

When we arrived at the pier we were the only ones there, so we waited for 2 more people. they never arrived. Our friends we met on the ship wanted to come with us so we set off. The van is new and very clean. He is a very careful driver. He knows a lot of information about the island and is very interesting. Our 1st main stop was the Titou Gorge. Was i glad I had an underwater digital camera!! It is cold when you 1st enter but you soon warm up. Swimming up to the waterfall was fantastic. You are in a cave, and the sun light seeps through. Its quite beautiful. Everbody wears life belts, Levi also has a ring in case anybody doesnt swim. Levi swam up to the water fall and I followed him. he managed to grab my hand and we stood on a ledge very near the base of the fall. it was amazing. our videos have come out fantastic. We were the only people there:D

Next was the trafalgar falls. Quite a few people were there when we arrived, so we followed on. Its quite beautiful. We ventured down to the hot pools. All the tours just walk on by, not us we sat there for ages. it was like being in a bath. Other people wanted to do it but were told by their guides " No Time" We felt so priviliged. Next stop was the sulfer springs. We had lots of drinks available all day. We did the Botanical gardens, and Morne Bruce.

Next stop was Champagne Reef. I didnt know what to expect for this. We walked along this broadwalk, and came to a pebble beach. Levi dint go in this time as his father was ill in hospital, and didnt want to get wet again. he told us all about it and showed us where to go. Well this is amazing. the bubbles really do look like Champagne. My video even picked up the popping sound they make. the fish were fantastic. It was the best snorkling I have ever done. we stayed there for ages. I took so many photos and videos, which I will treasure.

We were on the tour for about 6 hours. Having only 4 of us was brilliant. There was no rush at all. The other 2 that didnt turn up missed a real treat. Their loss:p Thanks levi

I loved our tour like this with Levi last month. Unfortunately, I did not have a good underwater camera (I have one now!!) so my disposable camera photos did not turn out very well for Titou. I'm glad you were able to get pictures!

Definitely worth the investment. I think I paid $175 for a good SeaLife camera (good to 75 feet) and we used it in Dominica for Levi's Middleham Falls tour (and all the other stops) as well as Bonaire for Scuba Diving. It even has more megapixels than our "normal" camera!!

We just got back on April 11 from the cruise. Levi Baron was our tour guide and he did a wonderful job. His other driver Gary is also very good.

Levi lived up to his reputation and did a magnificent job. BTW his father did pass on, but he has bounce back and you would never know it with his wonderful outlook on life and his willingness to please his customers.

A wonderful time and a wonderful experience. The Titou was cold, but once you got in and shook around it was oK. You must have the shoes to go in the water as the pebbles are hurtful if you don't have some shoes.

This is not just a tour it is an experience. I am 72 and did fine. One lady was extremely overweight and had arthritis, but she did the Titou Gorge and did fine. One just has to take the time while on the rocks.

We'll be seeing him in about 6 weeks and are very excited. We've been on a lot of his tours and there are certainly ones 50-70somes can do. We're a group of late 50's to mid 70's, and are going to Kalinago territory with him this time. Cost is $70 per person, plus $10 to go into the replica village, if we want to. 1.
