Raft: Vasagatan Walkthrough

Get some important blueprints for your raft by taking on the puzzles of the Vasagatan mega-yacht.

How to board the ship, how to build the bomb, how to get to the bridge.

After the Radio Tower, a luxury mega-yacht might not be your first guess when it comes to a destination in Raft , but here we have it. Vasagatan is one of the more opulent solutions to surviving on the ocean that we've seen so far, but when you approach it you'll start to notice that all isn't what it seems.

RELATED: Raft: Pro Tips For Getting Started

The yacht has run aground, and it's up to you to figure out why. The labyrinthian interior is crawling with aggressive rats, so before you embark, ensure that you have enough weapons on hand to keep the little beasts at bay.

This is a much tougher area than the Radio Tower. Darker, too, so ensure you have a headlamp equipped and enough food to keep you going. This may take a while.

Moor your raft at the rear of the Vasagatan. There are plenty of resources strewn around the surrounding reef, but ignore those for now unless you need to craft supplies for the trip. You can enter the ship through the rear; there is a platform that leads to a door with an 'Authorized Personnel Only' sign. Head through there and into the bowels of the vessel.

This area is riddled with lurkers, so make sure you always have your weapon equipped. They aren't difficult to dispatch, but they can take you by surprise when entering a room.

Flick the switch you find in the first area, it will turn the light on over a table where there is a note you can pick up; more clues about the suspect captain. There is a crowbar on a nearby table, pick it up and use it to open a door just down the hallway.

This hallway contains several rooms. The first of which contains a locker that requires a bolt cutter to access, and the second requires a blue key . You have neither of these items just yet, so continue down until you get to a bathroom, head inside, and pick up the red key .

Further down the hallway, there are two doors; the one on the right requires the red key to open, and the one on the left has some crafting tables we need to utilise later on. Enter the left-hand room and pick up the gas canister , then open the door opposite with the red key and enter.

In this area, you'll find some bolt cutters and a couple of crafting tables. They both require various pickups from across the yacht. One of the several items you need is in this room, a mechanical part , so ensure you pick that up.

Go back down the hallway, towards the room with the locker. You can now use the bolt cutters on the locker to acquire the blue key. Using the blue key on the last remaining door will enable you to access the rest of the ship.

Head up the stairs and into the bar area. On the bar itself you'll find a bullet, which we'll need to build the contraption downstairs. There is also another mechanical part near the DJ booth. Unlock the exterior doors and make your way outside, where you'll see another mechanical part sitting in the drained swimming pool.

Although unlocking the doors to the exterior of the ship isn't vital to your task ahead, it gives you a shortcut back into the ship should you choose to head back to your raft for any reason. Instead of using the stairs inside, you can just jump up the outside of the ship to whichever floor you like — barring the bridge, of course.

Go back to the bar area and make your way up the stairs to the next floor. There is a room at the end of a hallway filled with crates. Enter this room and loot as much as you like — there are a fair amount of resources here, but the thing we need the most is the fourth mechanical part. Pick that up and head back the way you came.

Head up the stairs another time to the third floor, and head along the hall until you reach a food preparation area. The last mechanical part is on the floor next to a locked door. In the centre of the room there is also a note with a four-digit code . The code is used to open a safe in the Captain's Quarters, so go down a floor and head for room number three. The safe contains electrical wires.

Make your way to the stairs again, this time heading to the fourth floor. There looks to be a karaoke dance area in the centre of the room, and a keycard lying there. Pick that up and you're off back downstairs.

On the third floor, there was a door you couldn't open due to the lack of a keycard. You now have that keycard, so open the door and head into the office. Pick up the green key from the desk.

Back up you go, now to the fifth floor. There is a door that requires the green key. This area is a rather large bedroom, and if you head towards the window there is a bed with a lighter you'll need to acquire.

All the way back down to the bowels of the vessel again with you. The room with the two workbenches is now useful. Interact with them both; you'll be able to build a car jack and a bomb .

Head up to the fourth floor, and you'll notice that a door is blocked by a rather large object. You're now about to move that object with the aid of the car jack. Entering this room gives you access to the staircase that leads you all the way to the bridge of the ship.

The door to the bridge is blocked, and can only be unblocked by an explosive device of some sort. Luckily for you, there's now a bomb in your inventory after that treasure hunt. Pop that bad boy on the door and take cover. It comes as a surprise to nobody that if you stand next to the bomb as it goes off you'll be damaged, so keep that in mind.

The bridge itself contains two very important blueprints for your journey ahead; the engine and the steering wheel. It also has a note with the coordinates for your next destination — Balboa Island.

The engine and steering wheel are vital for getting to the story areas ahead of you. After you've looted the story items from Vasagatan, it's worth giving the ship another once-over, hoovering up all the resources you may have missed. You're starting to craft more advanced items now, so simply picking up planks and plastic from the ocean soon won't be enough.

To craft yourself an engine for your raft, you'll need:

  • 5 Metal Ingot
  • 1 Circuit Board

And for the steering wheel:

  • 4 Metal Ingot
  • 2 Bolt or 2 Hinge

It's important to note that while the engine has to be in contact with the water (obviously), the steering wheel can be placed anywhere on your raft and still be functional. It's advised to place it in view of your receiver , as you'll want to be able to direct your raft and see the direction in which you should be heading at the same time.

The inside of the boat is very dark, so use the blueprint you’ve found in the Radio Station to craft several headlights (it took me 2 headlights to explore everything). I’ve made a map to help you find your way and understand better my explanations.

  • There are  11 notes .
  • There are  2 blueprints  to find, one for the Engine and one for the Steering Wheel, they are next to the post-it with the coordinates for the next story place in the last room you explore (the bridge).

The boat has many locked doors. To progress, you will have to find many items that unlock places to find other items that unlock other places… It’s kind of a treasure hunt.

Also you can check our all Raft Guides .

Raft: Vasagatan Guide

Vasagatan is the second storyline location in Raft. It can be reached by finding the radio frequency on the Radio Station (the first location) and programming the receiver with that code. Follow the receiver until you reach this abandoned cruise ship…

Vasagatan is a cruise ship which was provisioned badly for a quick getaway from the flooding of the Earth’s continents. The crew have left numerous messages talking about the circumstances under which they left port, and the problems that they faced with food shortages, disease, and rat infestations. All the crew appear to have passed away and the ship is abandoned on a small island.

To explore the ship you should first of all provision yourself with a little food, a lot of water, a headlamp, and a couple of spears to kill the Lurkers. The ship is a maze of locked doors and obstacles to pass. The map below shows the location of each item and what is needed to pass through each door. You should get yourself to the aft of the ship to begin with, at sea-level behind the pool. There is an open door here which gives you access to the hold.

Vasagatan contains a number of objects which you will need to collect to make your way to the control room at the top. Here you will find the blueprints for the Engine and the Steering Wheel, which are important devices to make your raft manoeuvrable enough to reach the next location, Balboa Island. You will also find the radio frequency for Balboa which you can follow.

As well as the necessary components, you will find 13 notes or tapes scattered around the ship. You can view these in your scrapbook.

How to Get to Vasagatan in Raft

In Raft, Vasagatan is the second storyline location that you must visit to progress further into the game. Vasagatan is actually a shipwreck that holds the Blueprint of Engine and the Steering Wheel, as well as various loot boxes.

The Vasagatan also includes notes that describe how the cruise ship got to its current state and what happened to the crew members on board. This guide will provide you with a course of action to get to Vasagatan in Raft Survival Game.

Although getting to Vasagatan is not difficult, it is tricky if you start from scratch. So, to assist you, we’ll explain in detail how to get to the Vasagatan shipwreck.

The first thing that you’ll need to reach Vasagatan is the code of the area. It is found on the Radio Station, the first area you’ll visit in Raft. One of the four notes from the Radio Station contains the code for Vasagatan.

Once you have the code, program the receiver with that code and simply follow it until you reach Vasagatan. As you reach Vasagatan, make your way to the back of the shipwreck. There is an open door here that leads to the hold. This is the only entrance to the interior of the Vasagatan.

The Vasagatan is not a walk in the park; it is a maze with locked doors and hurdles to overcome. It is a large area that will require several in-game days to fully explore, so it is recommended to have an ample supply of Food, Water, Headlights, and Weapons on hand.

Being a co-op survival game, it is also best that you don’t attempt exploring the area on your own. Have some friends tag along with you as you navigate through the Vasagatan.

Raft: How To Blast Open the Vasagatan Bridge Door | Bomb Crafting Guide

Unraveling the mysteries of the Vasagatan.

How To Reach The Vasagatan

Completing the vasagatan | building the bomb.

cruise ship in raft

After reaching the top of the Radio Tower in Raft , you’ll gain a new set of coordinates you can punch in to navigate to a new story location — the wreck of the Vasagatan . The Vasagatan is an abandoned yacht that’s full of mystery. The dimly lit corridors and decks are patrolled by monsters, and to complete this section, you’ll need to reach the bridge. Too bad the door is locked. To get inside, you’ll need to collect all the pieces to create a bomb .

To finish the Vasagatan and inch closer to your next goal, here’s how to blast open the Vasagatan bridge. Navigating the darkness of the Vasagatan isn’t easy — be ready to arm yourself and bring a torch or you’ll get lost quickly. To start building your bomb, check out all the steps in the full guide below.

The Vasagatan is the second story location you can reach after completing The Radio Tower . At the top of the Radio Tower , you’ll find a white board with new coordinates.

  • Input the coordinates found at the top of the Radio Tower into the Receiver + x3 Antennae . A new blue marker location will appear.
  • Navigate to the location to find the Vasagatan.

Reaching the Vasagatan doesn’t require engines or special equipment. A sail should be enough. You’ll also need an anchor to stop your ship outside the wreck.

The wreck of the Vasagatan is large yacht that consists of several floors. There are many rooms guarded by creatures called Lurkers, so be prepared with a weapon to fight the rat-like enemies. You’ll also want to craft a light source to help with exploration. The Head Light is your best bet.

  • What Rewards Are There To Find? : To complete the Vasagatan, you’ll need to breach the locked door to the bridge area. The Vasagatan contains blueprints for the Engine and Steering Wheel — equipment that is 100% required to reach the next island. The bridge is also where you’ll find coordinates to the next location Balboa Island .

Once you’re ready, enter the hull and begin your search. The bridge is located at the top of the ship.

  • How To Enter The Ship : The entrance to the yacht is in the back. You’ll need to access a hole near the engine room. From here, you can leave and explore the rest of the ship.

Enter the ship and search for key items to craft the bomb .

  • Bullet : Level 2 – In the bar on the counter. Easy-to-miss. It is inside a glass bottle.
  • Electrical Wires : Level 2 – In Bedroom #3, inside a safe. To unlock the safe, you need to acquire the 4-Digit Safe Code . The code is located on the upper deck, in the room next to the helipad. Look on the round table.
  • Gas Tank : Level 1 – Located in the kitchen area on a metal counter.
  • Lighter : Level 5 – On the red bed in the upper level bedroom.

Collect all four parts, craft the bomb, and blast your way into the wheelhouse. Now you can collect the blueprints and coordinates for Balboa Island . There is a lot more to explore on the Vasagatan — there are many locked rooms and areas that you can access by collecting key items. Don’t leave until you’ve fully explored! But these are the only items you absolutely can’t leave without.

Passengers see dramatic raft rescue from cruise ship balcony: 'Heart-wrenching experience'

Cruise passengers see dramatic raft rescue.

A Port Canaveral-based cruise ship saved six men stranded in the ocean. It happened near the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, and people on board the Carnival Vista watched the rescue unfold from their balconies.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A Port Canaveral-based cruise ship saved six men stranded in the ocean. It happened near the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, and people on board the Carnival Vista watched the rescue unfold from their balconies.

The cruise ship saved six people, and the U.S. Coast Guard saved six others who were drifting in the ocean. Passengers on board are still in shock, but thankful everyone is alive.

An orange life raft was nearly swallowed by the sea after a boat sank off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

Passengers came out to see the rough seas from their balconies and ended up seeing a rescue unfold on their vacation.

"It was something we’ve never seen, and hopefully we don’t ever see it again," said Lacey Farrington.

She says the entire rescue took about an hour, and she wasn’t sure if they’d make it to safety.

"I was worried about it because the water looked like it kept getting closer and closer to the ring of the raft, and was like – I hope they get over here," she exclaimed.

The cruise ship rescued six people from the flimsy orange raft, but six others were still out there. Victoria Foster captured the others floating away.

"It was definitely a heart-wrenching experience," said Victoria Foster who was worried the others wouldn’t be saved.

The Coast Guard stepped in and was able to find and save the other stranded men using a helicopter and lift them to safety.

"It was a relief to know that they were safe. It was, that was all I was worried about," Foster concluded.

The men were taken to the hospital, and the coast guard says, all 12 survivors are doing okay after a terrifying ordeal in the ocean.

There’s still no official word on what exactly caused the men’s boat to sink in the first place. The coast guard says the weather was less than ideal for a rescue like this and credits training and hard work to the successful mission.

The Bomb is a Quest Item in Raft .

Summary [ | ]

The Bomb is used to breach the last door leading up to the bridge at the topmost deck of the Vasagatan ship. It's crafted on the lowest deck in the room at the end of the corridor. When using the Bomb on the door, a timer is heard and shortly after the Bomb explodes enabling the player to enter. If the player stands near the Bomb when it explodes, they lose 50 health.

INSIDER

I sailed on Royal Caribbean's 2 largest cruise ships. They were shockingly similar for the $1,000 difference

Posted: April 3, 2024 | Last updated: April 3, 2024

Cruise ships like the Icon of the Seas will spend the majority of their trip at sea. <a>Pieter De Boer</a>

  • Royal Caribbean operates many of the cruise industry's biggest ships.
  • Icon of the Seas  launched in January, dethroning its predecessor, Wonder of the Seas, as the world's largest.
  • Here's how the two mega-ships compare in size, neighborhoods, amenities, dining, cabins, and costs.

Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's new mega-cruise ship darling, was deemed a success before it was even built.

In January, the highly anticipated vessel — complete with more than 40 bars and restaurants, a six-slide waterpark, and a waterfall — set sail, dethroning its less than two-year-old precursor, the Wonder of the Seas , as the world's largest cruise ship.

Before its debut, Michael Bayley, the president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, had already repeatedly called Icon its "best-selling product" yet. The company experienced its largest booking day ever when reservations opened for Icon of the Seas more than a year before its launch, it said

Despite all of this fanfare, you might be surprised by how similar it is to its predecessor.

I've sailed on both ships. Let's see how Icon and Wonder compare in six categories: size, neighborhoods, amenities, dining, cabins, and costs.

Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas and Icon of the Seas were docked at the cruise line's private island ahead of the latter's debut. <a>Sharon Yattaw</a>

Both ships stunt the size of their competitors.

Wonder of the Seas debuted in 2022 as the then-world's largest cruise liner, measuring 235,600 gross-tons, 1,188 feet-long, and 18 decks-tall. The ship can accommodate up to 9,288 people, including 2,204 crew.

Icon of the Seas is, comparatively, 13,063 gross-tons heavier, eight feet longer, and two decks taller. It can sail up to 9,950 people, including 2,350 crew, although it's 52 feet less wide than its predecessor.

<p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/why-cruise-lines-royal-caribbean-need-private-islands-2024-3"><span>Royal Caribbean</span></a><span> invited me on complimentary, non-revenue sailings on both ships: two nights on Wonder in late 2022 and three nights on Icon in January.</span></p><p><span>I spent most of my time lost, overwhelmed, and exhausted.</span></p><p><span>It's no surprise both ships are operating </span><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/icon-of-the-seas-joins-royal-caribbean-fleet-2023-11"><span>weeklong itineraries</span></a><span> this year. Any less, and you might not have time to experience all the activities and restaurants on your list.</span></p>

Both vessels feel more like amusement parks than traditional cruise ships.

Royal Caribbean invited me on complimentary, non-revenue sailings on both ships: two nights on Wonder in late 2022 and three nights on Icon in January.

I spent most of my time lost, overwhelmed, and exhausted.

It's no surprise both ships are operating weeklong itineraries this year. Any less, and you might not have time to experience all the activities and restaurants on your list.

<p>The new ship shares three of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/wonder-of-the-seas-worlds-largest-cruise-ship-sets-sail-2022-3">Wonder of the Seas' neighborhoods</a>: Central Park, Royal Promenade, and Suite.</p><p>Icon's other five — <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbean-icon-of-the-seas-shows-cruise-bookings-surging-2024-3">Thrill Island</a>, Surfside, Hideaway, Chill Island, and AquaDome — are a first for the cruise line.</p>

Like other Royal Caribbean ships, Wonder and Icon have eight 'neighborhoods' that serve separate purposes.

The new ship shares three of Wonder of the Seas' neighborhoods : Central Park, Royal Promenade, and Suite.

Icon's other five — Thrill Island , Surfside, Hideaway, Chill Island, and AquaDome — are a first for the cruise line.

<p>Wonder has three waterslides. Icon has a six-slide waterpark complete with rafting and racing options.</p><p>Both have increasingly popular cruise amenities like decks-long dry slides, mini-golf courses, rock climbing walls, and playgrounds.</p><p>But instead of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/favorite-amenities-royal-caribbean-wonder-of-the-seas-cruise-2023-1">Wonder of the Seas' zipline</a>, Icon of the Seas has Crown's Edge, a thrilling agility course with a small zipline that leaves travelers dangling 154 feet above the ocean.</p>

Many of the ships' amenities overlap, but in differing quantities.

Wonder has three waterslides. Icon has a six-slide waterpark complete with rafting and racing options.

Both have increasingly popular cruise amenities like decks-long dry slides, mini-golf courses, rock climbing walls, and playgrounds.

But instead of Wonder of the Seas' zipline , Icon of the Seas has Crown's Edge, a thrilling agility course with a small zipline that leaves travelers dangling 154 feet above the ocean.

Wonder’s Boardwalk neighborhood was my go-to.

Boardwalk delivered exactly as it had promised: an open-air space grounded by wood-planked floors, a hot dog stand, a sweets store, and kitschy, colorful decor.

Icon of the Seas' Surfside , designed for families with young children, felt like its closest dupe.

Both neighborhoods had a carousel, an outdoor playground, and family-friendly dining. But Surfside was more toddler-friendly, as suggested by the children's water play area and nighttime story readings.

<p>But travelers who enjoy <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-norwegian-cruise-line-new-1-billion-prima-cruise-ship-2022-10#here-the-new-ship-brings-travelers-back-in-time-with-a-the-price-is-right-live-show-and-a-broadway-ready-summer-the-donna-summer-musical--12">musicals at sea</a> will want to stick to Icon.</p><p>Unlike its predecessor, the new ship shows a rendition of Broadway hit "The Wizard of Oz" — Munchkins, a puppet Toto, and a 16-piece live band included.</p>

On to entertainment: Both mega-ships have ice skating performances and exciting multi-disciplinary shows at the AquaTheater.

But travelers who enjoy musicals at sea will want to stick to Icon.

Unlike its predecessor, the new ship shows a rendition of Broadway hit "The Wizard of Oz" — Munchkins, a puppet Toto, and a 16-piece live band included.

<p>Some of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbean-wonder-of-the-sea-2020-9">Wonder of the Seas' enticing outdoor amenities</a> — like the surf simulator, zipline, and mini-golf course — are clustered on the deck above and away from the pools and water slides.</p><p>This layout might be difficult for parents with children who bounce from one activity to the next. Wouldn't it be easier to have all of these outdoor extras near each other, or at least on the same deck, for parental supervision purposes?</p>

The layout of Icon's amenities were better than its cousin.

Some of Wonder of the Seas' enticing outdoor amenities — like the surf simulator, zipline, and mini-golf course — are clustered on the deck above and away from the pools and water slides.

This layout might be difficult for parents with children who bounce from one activity to the next. Wouldn't it be easier to have all of these outdoor extras near each other, or at least on the same deck, for parental supervision purposes?

<p>The rows of pools flowed perfectly into Thrill Island's <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/coolest-features-royal-caribbeans-new-largest-cruise-ship-2022-11">waterpark</a>, rock climbing walls, mini-golf course, and Crown's Edge.</p><p>The best part? The <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/things-about-royal-caribbean-icon-of-the-seas-2024-1">adult-only Hideaway</a> — which flexes an infinity pool club with a DJ — is right behind Thrill Island, creating a clear separation between parents and their children without being too far from each other.</p>

This is where Icon of the Seas excelled: All its exciting open-air activities were adjacent.

The rows of pools flowed perfectly into Thrill Island's waterpark , rock climbing walls, mini-golf course, and Crown's Edge.

The best part? The adult-only Hideaway — which flexes an infinity pool club with a DJ — is right behind Thrill Island, creating a clear separation between parents and their children without being too far from each other.

<p>But you won't find the larger vessel's five-stall food hall or mini-golf-adjacent finger food stand on Wonder.</p>

'Free' options like the buffet and build-your-own tacos and burritos bar are available on both ships.

But you won't find the larger vessel's five-stall food hall or mini-golf-adjacent finger food stand on Wonder.

As expected, Icon of the Seas has more dining options than its predecessor, although there are some overlaps.

Wonder of the Seas has 11 bars and 21 dining venues (9 complimentary and 12 upcharged).

Icon of the Seas has eight more bars, four more complimentary restaurants, and three more specialty dining choices.

<p>The multi-course dinner, paired with cocktails and live music, stunts the cost of either vessel's other dinner options.</p>

Nor will you find the new ship’s plush $200-a-person Empire Supper Club on any other cruise liner.

The multi-course dinner, paired with cocktails and live music, stunts the cost of either vessel's other dinner options.

<p>Restaurants like the popular burger chain and Southern comfort-inspired Mason Jar are only on Wonder of the Seas. But if you love Johnny Rockets, you’ll be disappointed by Icon of the Seas.

Restaurants like the popular burger chain and Southern comfort-inspired Mason Jar are only on Wonder of the Seas. Fine by me: My fried chicken at Mason Jar was as dry as a desert.

The younger ship doesn't have Wonder's robot bartender-armed bar either. It does, however, have new watering holes with dueling pianos and live jazz.

<p>But several of Icon's 28 <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbean-icon-of-the-seas-most-expensive-cabin-photo-2024-1">stateroom categories</a> are a first for the cruise line.</p><p>This includes the new <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbeans-icon-of-the-seas-family-cabin-progress-photos-2023-5">family infinite balcony</a> cabin, which has a small bunk bed nook for children.</p>

Surprisingly, Wonder of the Seas has 65 more cabins than its new cousin.

But several of Icon's 28 stateroom categories are a first for the cruise line.

This includes the new family infinite balcony cabin, which has a small bunk bed nook for children.

<p>My <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/review-stateroom-royal-caribbean-wonder-of-the-seas-cruise-2022-12">Wonder of the Seas' cabin</a> was 20 square-feet smaller than the one on Icon. Royal Caribbean assigned me an ocean-view balcony stateroom on both ships.

My Wonder of the Seas' cabin was 20 square-feet smaller than the one on Icon. But my bathroom on the latter was so tiny, I accidentally elbowed the walls at almost every turn.

Sailing on the world's largest cruise ship doesn't mean you'll have the world's largest cabin after all.

<p>In 2024, Wonder of the Seas is scheduled for year-round sailings from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean and <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/royal-caribbean-perfect-day-cococay-new-adult-only-area-review-2024-2">Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay</a>, starting at $700 per person.</p><p>Icon of the Seas is spending its first year in service operating nearly identical itineraries but from Miami instead. Wonder and Icon are both operating seven-night roundtrip itineraries from Florida to the Caribbean.

In 2024, Wonder of the Seas is scheduled for year-round sailings from Port Canaveral to the Caribbean and Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay , starting at $700 per person.

Icon of the Seas is spending its first year in service operating nearly identical itineraries but from Miami instead. The cheapest 2024 option is $1,786 per person.

That's a difference of more than $125 per person per day.

"Bookings and pricing for Icon of the Seas can only be described as 'iconic,'" Naftali Holtz, the CFO of Royal Caribbean Group, told analysts in February.

Icon of the Seas’ name speaks for itself.

If your family is looking for a jam-packed kid-friendly cruise with enough amenities to stay entertained for a week, both ships are a great option.

But if you're a seasoned mega-ship-cruiser looking to experience something new, Icon of the Seas is your best bet.

They may be similar, but no other behemoth cruise liner has a waterpark for children and a pool club for adults just dozens of feet from each other.
